I have no love for Kane or anyone else in this book. For mafia guys, Blaze and Kane were absolute idiots and their boy toys Jaxon and Elijah weren’t much better. The worst part was the author trying to convince me that BDSM, shibari and Kane’s cock could cure all the voices Blaze heard daily in his mind. 🙄🙄 This also had more twists and turns than a labyrinth maze but being blindfolded and trapped in one sounds 1000% times better than my experience reading it. 🤭
Oh and the number of times I had to read the phrase “back hole” was just weird. The word “back” isn’t needed when it’s just men because there’s no front hole. It made me start skimming the sex scenes because it became fucking cringy. 😬

I dunno what everyone else was reading, but wtf was this??? I came so close to DNFing at multiple points but for some reason I just couldn't look away from this trainwreck. This was my first book by Ames Mills and I can't say I have any desire to read anything else from them.
So, I loved that the relationship was between the four of them. I'm a poly fan and the way they all treated each other in the relationship (when it was good anyway) was what I like about poly relationships. And that's where my list of things I liked about this book runs out unfortunately!
Why, in a book about four MEN, are they constantly referring to their 'back hole' in every sex scene??? I mean, I may be Ace but I'm widely read across romance, erotica and kink and I fail to see why this terminology was used in this relationship dynamic. To me it kept reading as this was originally written with at least one F character and things just never got changed?
Next, I really did not like the implications that sex and/or having a BDSM lifestyle would cure someone of serious mental illness. Honestly Blaze deserved a lot better. You're telling me that as a 35 year old man who has known his best friend / lover since he was 14, that at no point did anyone think maybe he needed some kind of serious medical intervention? They kept saying they didn't want to change who he was, but mental health isn't a personality trait!!!! It pissed me off in all honesty and it was just another nail in the coffin for this author for me, especially when he attempts suicide on page due to the voices he hears - and still no one gets him any help they just 'heal' him with sex!!!
Outside of sex scenes none of these characters had any personality either - they were more limited than the Sims 4 character creation. We have Jaxon who is: undercover cop, defiant, pushover. Eli is: artist, submissive, quiet. Blaze is: erratic, loud, inappropriate. and Kane is: Mafia boss, dominant, stereotypical Russian. This is what I struggle with in badly written mafia books because the persona of being in the mafia is lazily used as the reason for why everything happens instead of any kind of plot development. Why do they ruthlessly murder people? Because they're mafia. Why do they command fear and have people to do their bidding? Because they're mafia. Why can they effectively do whatever the fuck they want? Because they're mafia.
Seriously, I was rolling my eyes so hard I'm surprised I'm not injured. I do love a well written mafia book but seriously this was awful. There's no real reasoning for anything, we see nothing about the business except they have a mole, and everything just seems farcical. At times I thought this was supposed to be a satire about mindless mafia goons but I really don't think that was the authors intention...

I went in mostly blind, primarily tempted by the audio and was then in for some juicy and very welcome surprises.
I loved the dynamic of all four of them together. And the audio was just *chef’s kiss!
Loved it, but rounding down for the unaddressed barebacking. (no idea why that even was as they started out with condoms and then in the middle of the action just ditched them without talking about status. 🤷🏻♀️)

When it comes to spicy reads, we’re all here for the thrill, right? Well, FTLOK doesn’t just bring the heat—it turns it all the way up and once I started reading, bish I wasn't able to stop.
Meet Kane, better known as Daddy. Kane is a D-A-D-D-Y, exuding BDE in every possible way - #IYKYK ...Once you hear that first utterance of him being called "Daddy," you'll get it. Trust me, it's a game-changer.
Now onto the rest of this foursome—Jaxon, Eli, and Blaze. Jaxon is the glue, the missing piece to the puzzle. Blaze is our beautifully unhinged, complex psycho who managed to steal my heart with every wild af thing that left this mans mouth. And Eli? He was solid. Reliable and sweet af.. They’re all so different, yet somehow each one makes this dynamic work. And while I try hard not to pick favorites, especially because he guys are all so perfect in their own way that it was hard not to fall head over heels in love with each buuuuuut Blaze, my sweet psycho was my fave. Truthfully, I try so hard not to pick a fave, but his story and personality was everything I could ever want in a fictional boyfriend who wants nothing to do with me. sigh.
The plot? It’s full of twists. I’m talking moments so intense, I wanted to throw my Kindle across the room. But I couldn’t because the ride was too good to stop. There were a dew times where I thought i knew what was going to happen and BAM, i was wrong. And i was left screaming and cussing Ames out because that savage likes to rip out your heart...i digress
Here's the kicker – there is no leading lady in FTLOK.—it’s an MMMM why-choose romance, and honestly, you won’t miss an FMC. These four men are more than enough to carry the story and its spicy af and it’s done so well that I couldn’t imagine it any other way. FTLOK has cemented itself as my favorite Ames Mills book yet.
I’d give this book 100 stars if I could. It’s everything—emotional, intense, and utterly captivating.

It's important to tell you that this book delves into some weighty subjects, navigating through dark moments where a character grapples with their mental health, and let me be real—it gets downright ugly. There were moments that were unpleasant, uncomfortable, and undeniably painful. And you know what? It should be. Mental illness isn't a picturesque journey, and loving someone going through it can indeed be a painful reality.
Kudos to Ames for tackling these moments with brilliance and utmost care. Drawing from personal experience growing up with a mentally ill parent, I've witnessed the spectrum of emotions—the good, the bad, and the ugly. Ames's handling of these moments resonated with me on a profound level. In a landscape where the portrayal of mental health struggles can often fall short, I enjoyed how it was handled. I am also adding that while some may find the way that the characters mental health is handled to be farfetched or unrealistic need to take a minute and really think about it. These characters are -lets face it- criminals, mobsters, made men...whatever you want to call them. IMHO, there is no realistic way that the MMC would just go and get help from a medical professional. And, this book is a work of fiction. I beg of you to use your imagination and let go of your expectations for how it should be handled.

Just when I think Ames books can’t get any better, she gives us Kane. This book is so freaking good. I love everything Ames writes but this was next level amazing. The way she brings her characters to life is incredible. All four of these guys are perfect, each in their own unique way. I know the title of this book is Kane, but Blaze really stole my heart in this one, I like them a little bit unhinged. This book was a wild ride with so many emotions, and it kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end. This is by far one of my favorite reads of the year!

I’m sorry. I just can’t. I really wanted to read a dark mafia MM+ BDSM romance. But I can’t with this.
My main issue won’t be an issue for most readers. Unfortunately - I know russian. I know it well.
And I really wish the author would have given this book to a Russian native speaker before publishing it.
NO Russian mob member born in Russia will be named Kane.
Also. “doll face” is nice and good in English. But they don’t use it that way in russian. AT ALL. It’s painful to read.
Then the russian MC says “fuck”. And it’s not a verb. But it has been translated in a way that in russian language can be used ONLY as a verb.
I could continue with this but I will move on to the reason I actually stopped.
On top of that writing feels primitive. And after usually dominant (his thoughts) man all of a sudden is “sub for him”… I just can’t. It’s too much.

Ames Mills has done it again! Her writing and character building are phenomenal! (And a master of spice) She has a way of writing about characters that make you want to grab them and hold onto them forever. Kane, Jaxon, Elijah and Blaze have my heart. ❤️ I’m so proud of their growth and loved watching them learn from each other. It was beautiful!
This was my first MMMM book and I’m glad Ames popped that cherry. 😂 This is her first stand-alone and it was AMAZING! It was a rollercoaster of emotions with plenty of tears and F yous.
Favorite Lines:
“We need a little crazy in our life, Litso kukly. We need something to make us feel alive.” -Kane
“But their love lets me know I am who I’m supposed to be. We can take on anything in this life. Together.” - Kane
—Daddy Kane 🔥—
Kane is the head of the Russian Mafia in New York. From the start, he thought he was doomed to never find a real connection in his life that would last. He didn’t want to be like his father and go through multiple marriages. He almost stopped trying. Until he locks eyes with Jaxon at a charity ball event. They immediately hit it off and fall hard and fast.
I love Kane! He loves so hard and passionately. He is a true leader and I love seeing him go to many lengths to protect his loved one despite the turmoil occurring.
— Blaze —
Blaze had a rough upbringing until Kane picked him up off the streets. His mother was an addict, he often starved, and was left with many scars and mental struggles because of it. Blaze is Kane’s best friends and right hand man in the mafia. In the beginning of the story, Blaze has his ‘plaything’ Elijah. But when Elijah wants more than just a sexual relationship, Blaze runs. It was amazing to see Blaze quickly realize that he needs Elijah in his life and turn around and offer all that Elijah wants and more. Blaze was easily one of my favorite characters in the book and my favorite kind of psychotic. 😍
— Elijah —
We learn that Kane and Blaze are all Elijah has, after his family disowned him and his sister, who accepted him, died. Elijah has been through some sh!t but he remains chill and level headed. He is our artist and submissive. He is the balance of the group. I love his dynamic with all the guys.
— Jaxon —
Jaxon grew up in Carolina with his mother and abusive stepfather. After finding out his real father died, he heads to New York to deal with his father’s estate. Then he meets Kane who instantly flips his world upside down and gives him things he never knew he needed. Jaxon becomes the binding piece and glue to bring Kane, Elijah and Blaze back to together and form this unified relationship. Jaxon takes everything in stride and is resilient. Once he understand that this life is what he wants, he fights with all he has to keep it. He is dedicated and strong.
I will say it again Kane, Jaxon, Elijah and Blaze have my heart ❤️❤️❤️

dnf@71% i can't do this any more for one reason: Blaze. This man is suffering and you bastards are allowing it.
Blaze slides me from his lap and stands from the tub. I grab his hand. “Where are you going?” “Kane’s back. You don’t need me anymore.” “Blaze!” I call out when he steps from the tub and strides from the room. Kane grabs his arm, but Blaze jerks it away. “What does that mean?” Kane demands. “It means he has who he truly wants, and I can fuck off.” Blaze disappears before I can disagree with him.This quote right here was my LAST STRAW! This man is fucking fragile! This man has told both of you bastards that he needs you! He needs both of you to quiet the voices in his head! But you selfish mother fuckers don't even go after him when he feels like he's unwanted AGAIN??? I hate both of you. The scene continues with Kane undressing & finishing the bath with Jaxson! Fuck that! Chase Blaze down & make him finish the bath and remind him he's needed and loved! He has communicated his needs, insecurities, and mental health issues numerous times!!!! How many times are you going to do this to him? I cannot stand how Blaze is treated in this and I cannot keep reading. This shit is heartbreaking.

The only good parts were the smut scenes, and that Kane and Blaze had their terms of endearments for Jaxon and Elijah. I didn’t like any of the 4 characters (Blaze was the one I liked the most, and even that wasn’t that much), I didn’t like the story/storylines (because there were multiple and just kept happening, and got convoluted and confusing at times), I didn’t like the twists (again, there were multiple), I didn’t like that there seemed to be so many plot devices and the use of cliff hangers at the end of chapters, the BDSM scenes left much to be desired… This was just not it for me. I should’ve DNF’d but I pushed through, and man, did I struggle with it.

this is a mmmm dark mafia romance, undercover, bratva, bdsm, dom / sub, mental health rep, ownership, collaring, “pet”, mm / mmm / mmmm scenes, dub con, betrayal, four povs (lane, jaxon, blaze, elijah), standalone 🖤
i really don’t want to say much about the plot but definitely be aware of the plot twists and betrayal 😩 it was really focused more on each other their characters and relationship together. the plot wasn’t really plotting but honestly i was just here for these four 🥹 the moment i started this i just KNEW the spicy scenes were going to send me into an orbit 🥰

I’m not a popular booktoker. Neither am I a popular book blogger nor am I popular on social media. The biggest reason why I rated this book a two star is because of of blaze mental disorder was “Fixed”. It’s always been a big struggle reading books where they have a character with a severe mental disorder and I feel like they try to romanticize it. Like I know it’s a book but I’ve read some really good books where they have a mental issue and they get help, and it doesn’t just magically go away they will still struggle with it. And this book writes that all of a sudden ONLY Jaxon can stop the voices and with him being able to control him with BDSM.?????? Like that doesn’t even make sense to me. After that, I just speed-read the rest of the book. I hate when authors do this, Make a “PSYCHO” lover, and all of a sudden the MC comes in and everything is peaches and cream. Like HUH!!!???? If his mental illness was written about better I would have given this book a three star.

I could tell from very early on in this book that the plot was just not going to work for me. I hoped that the spice would make up for it, and while this book was super spicy, it did not at all help with how laughably terrible the entire story was. Plus there was a giant second act breakup which I’ve learned is way worse than a third act breakup.
Also, the characters. Ugh. The only one I could somewhat tolerate was Blaze, and that’s wasn’t until at least halfway through. I hated Kane, disliked Jaxon, and honestly Eli was bland as cardboard. The side characters might as well not have existed because they added nothing to the plot. And all the “twists” were completely predictable.
Also there were so many things that just weren’t addressed. Blaze’s mental health issues (which was eluded to as schizophrenia) just came and went when it was helpful to the plot. Then it was just pushed aside and forgotten. Jaxon’s stepfather that abused him that Kane and Blaze promised they’d hunt down and was the catalyst for them discovering the “plot twist” was also never brought up again. Nothing at all was accomplished in this book.
I should’ve finished this hours ago but I dreaded reading it so much that I decided to organize my pantry instead. I need to learn how to DNF.

Holy sweet baby hotness times four. First of this is a mmmm romance and the spice is off the charts. So if that's not your jam then this is definitely not a book for you!
If you're still reading this, and you want to read about four very different, very delectable men then this is a must read. It has everything you would expect from a Russian Mafia Romance with Ames Mill's specific brand of taking you on a emotional ride. I devoured this book and while extremely satisfied with the story, characters, and world building, I'm sad to see their story wrapped together in one book.
There's so much to unpack inside these pages but not once did I feel like the story was rushed or left any unanswered questions. This is another of Ames' masterpieces I'll read multiple times!

WOW 4.5 stars rounded up. I LOVED IT. I suspected the plot twist in the beginning but I was led into such a false sense of security that I forgot my initial suspicions and it hit me like a brick wall when it actually happened!!
I have nothing else to say, this was great. The plot was plotting, the plot twist had me reeling and the smut had me hot, particularly one scene involving the four of them that I dared not hope for.. But I received!! Sometimes, dreams really do come true!!
There were things that I had to suspend my disbelief about but ultimately I just don't care, this was too much fun.

The 4 of them definitely had good on-page chemistry but I think I liked Blaze with with the other 3 more than I liked Kane with the other 3. Especially Kane and Jaxon. Maybe that’s just me. Still this was a pretty fun and super spicy mafia romance. I would definitely read another book on the series. Maybe Diego or Saint will get a book?

I can see why all the boys want kane
After reading the blurb, I actually thought Kane would have been over the top possessive.A******, but he was actually very sweet. This is very erotic and excessive. However, about halfway mark it a different which i enjoyed Inmensely.
“We’ll talk about everything after dinner. That will give you time to come down and make a rational decision. If it’s not what you want, we’ll keep things the way they are.
Kane-communicates very well and is very understanding, he make sure his partners are safe and taking care of them(including shopping), which is so sweet. The book says that he is the number one Russian mob, yet he literally does everything himself.
Blaze is supposed to be unhinged, hearing voices, but he just seems like a sad boy that needs kane. I still like him a lot. His bdsm is very heavy, but he does great aftercare. His voice in his head gets worse to the end of the book , and he needs professional help, not bdsm.
Eli - he is a true bottom, sweet, kind, and has a brotherly love towards jaxon.
Jaxon - I'd love his dynamic with everyone in this group, and there's a plot twist at the end that made me like him even more.

I honestly don’t even know where to start on the emotional rollercoaster I experienced while reading For the Love of Kane. I guess at the beginning🤷♀️.
For those of you who have read Ames Mills’ work in the past know that she has typically written in a duet-style fashion. Please don’t think that your heart will escape unscathed simply because this book is a standalone. She brings all of her game to this fantastic story and, as always, knows how to hit you right where it hurts the most (in the heart) 💔.
For the Love of Kane focuses around Kane and three of the men in his life. The characters created in this world are unique and wonderful: Kane is everything (🥵), Blaze is psychotic (in all the best possible ways 😜), Elijah is precious (🌯), and Jaxon is innocent (😇). But more than being individually amazing, their relationships with each other are beautiful 😍 and hilarious 😂 and hot AF🤤.
The Queen of the Multi-Peen continues to impress and awe me with characters doing things to other characters that I had not ever considered a possibility, let alone one that I would find to be such a damn turn on 🥵.
As for the story, guys, this one had my brain all over the place. I thought I had the answers, I didn’t. I thought I knew what was going to happen, I was wrong. I was so angry at times that I might have almost broken the down arrow on my computer. I most definitely shed a tear or two 😭 (you know exactly what you did Ms. Mills!) I also giggled like a little girl 🤣, I rejoiced during happy times (or appropriate revenge) 😄.
⚠️This book is definitely not for the faint of heart. There are some triggers in it and if you are someone who has them, please read the warnings first. I won’t give details, but this book does deal with mental illness in a capacity and, as someone who very much lives with a mental illness, I felt it. I struggled to read some of the scenes because it isn’t necessarily glossed over in a pretty, shiny way and it is absolutely beautiful and real.
I have been waiting for this book for a long time now and I am so happy that it is out in the real world. It has action, drama, suspense, humor, spice (oh the spice) and love. Check it out and fingers crossed that some side characters get stories too. 🥰

Blown away good!!
I absolutely devoured this book!! Every page had me in a choke hold and Kane was everything I wanted him to be!! The twist, turns, and reveals had me on a roller coaster of emotions throughout the whole book! This was my first MMMM and holy moly was the spice up there with the hottest spice Ames has ever written!! Ames is truly gifted in storytelling and makes you love each one of these guys so much. Ames makes you so inthralled with every aspect of their lives that you can’t stop until the end and then you’re devastated when it’s over! I’m not sure where to start with this review. I’m speechless. Honestly. This was my first book by Ames Mills and holy moly it will not be my last. This book is easily in my top reads for 2023. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to recover from this book. Kane, Jaxon, Blaze, and Elijah have my heart.
Let’s start from the beginning. Kane is trying to find the rat in his team who is trying to sell him out. When Kane goes to a ball for an appearance and sees Jaxon and is instantly infatuated with him and needs to get to know him. I swear the book just took flight from there. In a great direction. I loved seeing the relationship grow between Kane and Jaxon. How Kane was obsessed with Jaxon and couldn’t stand when they weren’t together even though Kane swore he would never get in a relationship because of who he was. How the Dom/Sub dynamic started growing from there. Something about a Dom/Sub book and MM book combined had me hot and bothered. Kane being the big tough guy but always taking care of those around him and making sure his 3 favorite men are taken care of just made my heart swell 🥹. I love a demanding man yet someone who can flip the switch and take care of you too and that was exactly what Kane and Blaze were.
Blaze and Elijah. Whew. Where do I begin? My poor Blaze and the poor life he was handed. My heart hurt for him for what he went through. He didn’t think he was deserving enough of love but Elijah saw right through it and loved him through all his faults. I can’t even tell you how many times I cried for Blaze. He may not be perfect but he deserves love as much as the next person.
On to the spice. 😈🥵. Yes it’s exactly what you’re thinking with an MMMM book. It was hot, it was dirty, it was kinky. Everything I was looking for in a book. I received this book as an ARC and I’m gonna lay it all out for you. This was my first MMMM book and it did NOT disappoint, I absolutely devoured it and loved every second of it. Kane, Elijah, Jaxon and most definitely Blaze will make you cry your eyes out, laughing out loud and fall in love with them from the start. The spicy is definitely spicing lol! And the angst is so good!
The dynamic between all 4 of them is crazy and so good. You’ll hearts will break and you will cry but that’s what the best books do to you. This book has a way to draw you in and connect with the characters in a way that you feel like you’re right there. The mental struggles and the heartbreak are so worth it because the HEA makes up for it all.
Don’t hesitate read the book and let Ames guide you into For The Love of Kane.. and most definitely for the love of Blaze because goodness gracious that man has my heart.
