Hannah Ellis spent many years working in childcare before deciding she'd like to write books. When she's not busy writing she likes to read, drink tea and eat chocolate. She also enjoys yoga and jogging.
This was the best book of the series yet! All the gang returned for funny times together and a few sad times that even brought tears. Could not put this book down. Looking forward to what might come next.
i’m so obsessed with this series and i love the main characters in this book but the plot just became kind of weak about a quarter of the way through it and it was so back and forth it was painfully predictable but STILL LURV
I have loved this series ❤️ I really hope there is more to Tara and James that we have yet to find out. And I want to read about amber too. ❤️❤️ I think I fell in love with James myself, I would love to own a book shop..... and have a freezer full of ice cream, that is a very important question to ask anyone!
He paused, an odd look on his face. “I have two really important questions, and you have to answer honestly.” “Okay,” she said, hoping he wasn’t about to delve into her dysfunctional family history. His eyes narrowed. “What’s your favourite flavour of ice cream?” “That’s your important question?” she asked through a laugh. “Yep.” She thought for a moment. “Mint choc chip.” “Really?” He frowned. “Yes. You said be honest. Are you going to tease me about my ice cream choice now?” “No.” He went to the freezer and moved things around. Tara glanced over his shoulder. “Oh, my God.” She laughed as she went over for a better look. “Your freezer is full of ice cream.” His cheeks pinked and he nudged her out of the way. “I like ice cream,” he said sheepishly. “That’s a lot of ice cream. You’re like a big kid.” “You can’t come over and tease me on Christmas Day.” He pulled a tub from the freezer and held it up. “Mint choc chip,” he said proudly. “Ooh. That’s not cheap stuff either.” “Of course not. There are some things in life that are worth spending more money on.” “Ice cream?” she asked as he took two spoons from the drawer. “Yes. You should always pay more for a good bed, good shoes and good ice cream
I’ve been waiting for the book in the series that tells Tara’s story and it was well worth the wait!
Tara is the joker and good time girl out of her friends. Always up for a laugh and seems to be more interested in having fun than ever settling down. We know from snippets in the previous books that there seems to be something going on between her and James and it’s obvious she likes him but something is stopping her from making that next step. Whilst she loves children, she has always been adamant that she doesn’t want any of her own. This particular thread was the stand out one for me. I won’t say why as it is much better for readers to find out for themselves.
Tara’s story was way more emotional than I had first thought. At times I wanted to give her a good shake when it comes to James as he is a wonderful man and is obviously in love with her. As we get to know more about her past though, I could fully understand why she is scared of commitment and is only trying to protect herself from getting hurt. So many times I wish she would open up to her friends and I wanted to give her a great big hug.
The Bookshop of Hopes and Dreams is one of my favourite books in the series. The bookshop itself had me wanting to open one of my own as I fell in love with it and what Tara and James had done with the place. It’s a little piece of heaven. Without a doubt this is one of the most emotional books in the series but I absolutely adored it and I can’t wait to read more of Tara and James. Gutted to see there is only two more novels left in the series. I have loved my time in Hope Cove and not sure I am ready to say goodbye to the place and the characters. An emotional and engrossing story!
I really enjoyed this series until I got to this book. Tara really seems to be abrasive and unreasonable until you know why. In the end, the turnaround was too quick but also I was surprised that the story was over. I felt like... where is the rest of the story? Since I am only listening to the book rather than reading, having the same narrator to all male and female speaking parts got confusing as to who was saying what. Sometimes I thought it was a male character speaking when it was a female. This is the book where having a single narrator doing all the vocals detracted from the story
This was the most heart wrenching book of the series, full of mystery and a character you love but wish you could shake. I couldn’t stop reading the second half, I had to find out if Tara could make the decision that I am sure we all wanted her to. I cannot believe that the series has come to an end. I will miss catching up with all of the characters in the series. These books are easy to read and hard to put down. I can’t quite believe my time in Hope Cove, Averton and Newton Abbot is over. I will definitely be recommending these books are reading them again myself.
Another great book so gripping until the very end I can't wait until the next book comes outi
I am now an avid reader of this author and I can relate to some of the areas written about from holidaying around Devon and Cornwall and surrounding areas roll on more books i have read three books in this series i hope they are not the only ones of this is so I hope i can find another series to fill in until there are some more of these.
Have thoroughly enjoyed this series, the characters are so well written and the stories intertwine so effortlessly. Disappointed that this is currently the last in the series, would love to read Amber's story and even more so Annette and Wendy's! Hannah Ellis is a brilliant author, her books make you feel so good. Will make a start on the other series and look forward to meeting all her new characters.
I loved this series I started reading it as I love hope cove we stay at the cottage hotel in hope cove so was lovely to imagine it while reading and getting lost in the book. I loved how each book was about a different character. Just good story kept me wanting to read on. I would recommend this series to read .take it to the cottage hotel and read them while you relax by the sea.,*****
A very emotional read and it was also frustrating because I couldn't work out what Tara's problem was, I thought I had I worked out but Hannah threw in a twist at the end and finally Tara made sense. I loved the story and a great way to finish the series, but I think I'm going to miss the characters. I'm now back to having read everything written by Hannah Ellis and I'll have to be patient and wait for next story.
Having read the rest of the books in this series I was really looking forward to this one, I have to say it didn't disappoint... The last few chapters had tears streaming down my face. I would have no problem recommending Hannah's books. I have also just read the last 'friend's like these' book, just need to find a new reading fix now...
I couldn’t have asked for a better ending to the series. It was so interesting to see things from Tara’s side of the story. She’s so much more of a complicated character than I realized before. I’m so happy her story turned out just as well as the others did.
Wow what can I say , I laughed and cried and felt every emotion in the words Hannah wrote ... the whole collection has been amazing as all so differently written so they over lap but none of them take over the other book and so many different prospectives .... highly recommend reading all of the collection as you won’t regret
Amazing story with substance and just the right amount of romance.
I have read many books Hannah Ellis has written and enjoyed them all. I enjoyed this because I was curious about the main character's Tara and James who was introduced in another one of her books. I totally enjoyed getting to know both of them and would recommend this book to everyone.
So I have just spent the last 6 days reading the entire series of these books. All of them were addictive and very hard to put down. I loved how the stories were interwoven yet each one focused on different elements of the friendships. A definite must read for anyone who enjoys feel good, light hearted romance reads.
I’ve been hooked from book 1 all the way to 6 and was prepared to be gutted that it was all over, so imagine my excitement on discovering book 7 is due this year! I’ve also read all 6 in a matter of days which is a testament to how good they are even though I am a fast reader.
I thought Emily was crazy but crazy takes on new meaning with Tara.
This girl Tara is total loonie! She could definitely drive someone to drink. How does a guy like Jamez fall in love with her. She tes so many lies I don't know how she keeps them straight. She is lucky that James has patience of a Saint. What a tall tale.
I absolutely loved this book. I just couldn’t put it down . The beginning was a bit slow as it went over so much of the previous book but I realised you needed that to understand what Tara was all about. There were many tears and many just stays, he loves you but then you find out more about Tara and everything makes sense. Now going to read book 7.
Book 6 in the Hope Cove Series. I am enjoying these books so much and would recommend them for anyone to read. This book was a very happy, sad book but it all came good in the end. Thank you Hannah Ellis for having the talent to write such enjoyable books.
The reason I rated this book 3 stars is because it redeemed itself late in the book. The whole rest of the way I was driven crazy by the whining and repetition of the same topic as the main character complained endlessly. I wanted to love it because it took place mostly in a bookshop but Tara drove me crazy.
I started reading this series as a form of escapism while experiencing insomnia. Tara was a secondary character that I didn't think would have an interesting backstory. How wrong I was! This book can be read on it's own, but won't be nearly as good as it is having read the previous 5 Hope Cove books. If you are looking for a scewed romance that is a feel good read, this series is for you.
Chicklit fans- this is my most favourite book of the series... I couldn't put it down! I wish I worked in this beautiful bookshop. Make sure you have somewhere cosy to sit and your favourite drink as when you start reading you won't want to stop! A wonderful finish to a fabulous series.
I was really pleased to find this new book in the series. It is a great way to loose yourself whilst you read it. I loved remembering the characters from the other books and how they all intertwine. Great storytelling and a great read as always.
It has been a long time since I have read a book that touched me as much as this book has! I loved all the characters and the growth that developed in the stories was very well written.
I have really enjoyed the whole series. Devoured each book. Love the characters and their stories. Very well written. Can't wait to start the next series.
I love this series! It shows the good, the bad and the ugly parts of relationships. And, the way they are written, you get to see how everyone's lives overlap.
