The 2-Hour Tutor: How to replace your 60h per week teaching job with a 2h per week tuition business

Rate this book
The 2-Hour Tutor challenges the status quo of traditional hourly-rate, one-to-one tutoring. The author, drawing on personal experiences, critiques the pitfalls of individual sessions, emphasising the toll it takes on both teachers and students.Uncovering the flaws in the weekly nature of one-to-one tutoring, where progress is minimal between sessions, the author highlights the heavy workload for tutors and the constant demand for content creation, planning, feedback, and marketing. The book introduces an alternative – the magic of creating a hybrid group programme. By shifting from a pay-as-you-go model to a defined period with specific outcomes, tutors can charge more, witness increased student commitment, and achieve superior results. A win-win for all concerned! The 2-Hour Tutor is more than just a guide. It's a companion that addresses your fears and concerns, assuring you that the flaws in the education system are not your fault. It's about regaining control and realising that there's a better way to work and thrive.Whether you are a teacher who has recently decided to leave the classroom behind to start a tuition business, or you're an established tutor ready to elevate your tutoring game, this book will be a game-changer.

Practical, informative and life-changing!

I have read a lot of books on what to do after teaching but nothing has inspired and motivated me as much as The 2-Hour Tutor.

Ellie Baker has a friendly and supportive style, making you feel and believe that there is life after teaching.

If you’re considering a career change or just fancy trying out your options, this book shows you how you can escape the classroom and start your own group tutoring business.

Highly recommend if you need a fresh start.
