What Diesel wants with her is dark, depraved, and deliciously hot. He fostered this obsession for weeks… Watching her. Studying her. Hunting her. It was over the moment he smelled African American first-year Mona Moore’s perfume. Diesel had to have her in his bed and make her off-limits. The freshman girl absolutely loathes football players, especially Diesel. The tight end has a reputation as a chauvinistic player – sadistic, emotionless, and unavailable. Mona won’t become just another notch on his belt. Fighting only makes Diesel want her more. And he’s willing to get twisted to have the woman he wants. This is the second book in a dark and twisted BWWM football romance trilogy. I am really enjoying this particular series. It's still dark, and I am not talking about the romance. The subplot gets crazier and crazier.
Mona and Diesel were a trip from beginning to end. They created a plan. They executed the plan. They revised the plan. The plan turned out to be a success for them. Let me state that the plan was outlandish. However, if you were talking in terms of generational wealth, capitalism, and economics, then it was totally plausible.
Based on how this book ended, hockey (and any sport that erupts into the type of chaos and violence exemplified in the story) was taken to the extreme. Work of fiction, but once again, very plausible outcome.
I can't wait to read the third installment. It sounds interesting. Plus, I think it will be the finale of this series.
It was entertaining but at one point I had no sweet Fucking clue what was going on. Idk man I've lost the plot in my own life muchless this book. Also the shooting was wild and then chuck just losing his damn mind is crazy. But at least she actually had the baby in this one and they didn't stretch out her pregnancy for like 14 books.

This book was just raw in your face of what college is like and what's going on in the world. Diesel and Mona's love didn't start off strong but it was full of distaste for each other. Once he figured out he can use Mona for helping get his money then Diesel went head first. Mona on the other hand really hand to think about if it was what she wanted. Next there was all the drama with the ex members of the sigmas. They just couldn't let go and to have someone going after Chuck for no reason it has put everyone on alert. I can't wait until the next one comes out because it's going to be a great one.
It started with a contract. What seemed like a simple money grab turned into more than Diesel and Mona bargained for. Money changes things and people, literally. It's inevitable and not always in the way you'd expect. When total opposites attract, a virgin and a man-whore, there's bound to be a lot of adjustments needed. However, when you add sex, stubbornness, racial stereotypes, an NDA clause, and a BABY on the way, you can bank on this being a damn good read!
I read the first book in this serious and as a continuation from that one… just wow. A lot happened all at once. Diesel and Mona were quite the pair. Their initial feelings toward each other were not great. And from there it heated up quickly by one side. The other plot in the book about what was going on at the school was pretty much. I was shocked at who was a part of the drama. For anyone wanting to read these stories please read the trigger warnings and take note.
This book read like a suspense movie with an underlining dark romance theme. It exceeded my expectations because Jamila Jasper's books can take you there and you never know if you'll like it until you read it and discover for yourself. And this book was definitely one of them. I loved Mona because she was true to herself and didn't have on any rose colored glasses. Diesel was a total Alpha who's heart melted instantly for Mona. Diesel and Mona definitely have a movie ready story which isn't bad at all.
I don’t know why but in a series I always deem the first couple in the series as being the “main characters” even when the book is over. But Diesel and Mona were main character energy from book one. I loved their back stories, loved how they grew together. The action had be guessing.. still has me guessing. I didn’t want to say goodbye to D&M
A short read yet juicy!!!! From beginning to end I was hooked. This is definitely one that needs to be read in order. I also like the way the stories are not ending on cliffhangers. Jamila did a great job of setting up the next installment. I recommend reading this book and all of her books!!
I give it two stars for the romance but other than that I didn't really like this. My main issue is that I feel like the description wasn't accurate. This is more like a mystery/thriller with some romance thrown in. I wasn't expecting to read this type of story so that lowered my rating. Just my opinion.
This was a great second part of McGraw College Minotaurs. I loved how Diesel and Mona tried fighting their feelings for each other but eventually they had to admit how they really feel. It was a beautiful story with no grammatical errors or typos. I’m looking forward to the final book in the series.
The ending in 1 and 2 feels wrong. It doesn't feel like there's going to be a completion in the next book....just like there was no completion of 1 in 2. I love the stories, I just keep feeling so incomplete. Can anyone explain why diesel did not use the tracker when Mona was kidnapped
I love this couple so much. They start off hilariously dramatically, and it just keeps building, but once they realize that it's real for one another, you can't help but swoon.
Big D & Mona…what a ride? What started off as an arrangement or contract ended with a whole family. So many twists and turns & why. I enjoyed every minute of it. Can’t wait for the next book.
Oh my! I almost peed my pants like the heroine-Mona! Suspense! Drama! Unsolved mysteries! Hatred! Racism! All brought together to make a GREAT read! Yes, Jamila, you’ve done it again in this dark hockey romance novel!🦋
We waited for this, and we struck gold! This book in the series was well worth the wait! Fire all the way through! From beginning to end! Mona and Diesel are magic together! This storyline was fabu! Now I can't wait for the next book! Awesome job!
Just fabulous, and funny. I cou6 believe how he changed so much. Diesel was an absolute d******d and love changed him. Mona was a hard chick to win over but, he finally did and it's beautiful.
Enjoyed the spicy story. Good growth in pushing boundaries of the family. I’m thrilled to read book number 3. i’m not sure i’m as interested in Chuck but i’m committed.
Made for tv...this novel has all the makings for a made for tv romantic, Halloween horror movie definitely as good as airplane or boo 1 & 2 kinda funny...with a good ending so far yet intriguing because only part of the mystery gas been solved... Hmmm
So this book is definitely one of those guilty pleasure books; I definitely enjoy it sometimes her writing does remind me of wattled just a tad bit and makes me feel like a giggly and like a teenager. I do feel like things can be a little fast paced but after a few slow burn books sometimes the pace feels great.
Setting: Current time period. North Eastern College in Laguna Grove near Boston MA.
Trope: Sports romance. Surrogate mother. Relationship of convenience.
Main characters: 1. Diesel Knox, hero, is a wealthy womanizing scary but popular goalie for the college's hockey team. 2. Mona Moore, heroine, is the best friend of Peyton and a plus size diva. 3. characters from previous book appear in this story. 4. Diesel's parents, grandfather and estranged murderous and envious sister.
The last quarter of the book is the best part of this story. Mona and Diesel's romance is non existent. Diesel is asked to guard Mona against who ever attacked Peyton in the previous book. Diesel and Mona have a mutual distain for each other that they give voice to for the majority of the story. Out of the blue, Diesel asks Mona to allow him to get her pregnant for a few million dollars because his grandfather will withhold his inheritance if he doesn't have a child on the way within a month or so. For some unfathomable reason, despite her distrust and dislike of him and the possibility of loosing her scholarship, Mona accepts Diesel's offer to be his baby's mama. This story has a larger attempted murder mayhem mystery element than romance between Diesel and Mona. Diesel's father and grandfather are condescending with white supremacy overtones during their initial meeting with Mona; however, by the end of the story and with little or no interaction with her, they love her dearly. Mona and Diesel become a full fledged expectant couple by the end of the book.
Diesel and Mona ! Pretty interesting story and hook up . The story is all over the place , the tropes in this book give you whiplash but the best moments are the subtle ones . Diesel is obsessed and has it bad for Mona that’s for sure .This book is like a train wreck , you know it’s coming but you can’t stop until you see it to the end .Ending is rushed , a lot of questions are left unanswered which makes this book 📕 basic.
