Bonnie Wilson was never treated as anything special by her family, only as a nuisance—a curse. But with the two men of the family deceased, she is her mother's only hope of keeping Wilson Bank Incorporated on the map. The condition? She must marry a man by the age of thirty to earn her inheritance. Her mother has primed her for this ever since she was a teenager. And though she accepted her fate at first, she never expected to fall for a troubled orphan girl who promised her the world and left her before they could start a new life together.

After repeatedly failing to meet her mother's demands of finding the right husband, Bonnie only has two more years before she loses her inheritance, and she and her mother are left with nothing.

Marcus Spencer is the perfect guy to secure Bonnie's future. He has Illinois in the palm of his hands as the front-runner for the upcoming gubernatorial election. So what if he's controlling? So what if he insults Bonnie's intelligence every chance he gets? So what if he's a man? He's perfect.

After accepting a proposal she could not refuse, Bonnie won't have to worry about her future much longer. But that future is threatened when her past love returns.

Artemis had ten years behind bars to think about how badly she messed things up with Bonnie. Even after her release fifteen months ago, she knows better than to beg for forgiveness. Once her probation ends, she will leave Chicago and her past—Bonnie included—behind for good. But when their paths cross unexpectedly after so many years, she wonders if it's not too late to make up for their tumultuous history.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

You know it’s a good book when you are emotionally hungover after you finish it. This book has me emotionally RUINED. In the best way of course.

I have been a reader of Reeb’s for years and was lucky enough to receive an ARC of her debut. Reeb has always had incredible talent and her works have always stuck with me more than any other author. This book did not disappoint.

I know I’m reading a good book when I’m doing anything besides reading, wishing I was reading. I was hooked from day one and invested in these characters before even knowing them. The storytelling is vivid and these characters are so rich and deep. You are rooting for them for chapter one.

This book has EVERYTHING. Found family, second chance, angst, an ending that keeps you on your toes, and above all else, LESBIANS. What more could you want?
Leave it to Reeb to write a lesbian love story that is so heartbreakingly beautiful I can’t think about anything else for days.
The love in this story is so tender and so well written I had tears in my eyes while reading the last chapter and epilogue.

This book is a new favorite for sure. I already know I’ll be re reading it.

If you love emotional, lesbian romances, READ. THIS. BOOK. This author deserves so much support and I’m so excited for the rest of the world to read this book.

I would read Reeb’s grocery lists. Never stop writing, you’ll always have a loyal reader with me. ♥️

A truly jaw dropping debut for Toni Reeb. I couldn’t put this book down. Just when I thought I knew all there was to the characters I kept being surprised at new twists and turns. Reeb has an incredible talent for making her characters feel reel and relatable, and a writing style that makes you feel like you’re right alongside the characters.

I can’t wait to see what else Reeb releases to the world!

Even if I hadn’t been a long time fan of this author, I just know I would’ve been obsessed with this story and characters anyway. She had me from the very first sentence and kept a firm grip on my heart till the very end.

The main characters are addicting and I found that the mystery of their past as well as how their stories and arcs play out kept me eagerly turning the pages. (They both deserve the world, and Bonnie’s character development is amazing, but Art just has my whole heart and I must protect her at all costs!)

The first chapter is the perfect set-up for the story, the pacing and gradual reveal of the backstory is effective and engaging, the romance and angst tugs your heartstrings, the spice is top tier, the third act has nail-biting action and a tearful, satisfying ending, what more could you ask for?

I don’t think there could have been a better debut for Reeb. It encompasses all her potential as an author and you can really see that in the complex characters, their sizzling chemistry, and the edge-of-your-seat suspense that she created.

Prestige is a favorite of mine for sure and I’ll be anxiously awaiting anything else Reeb publishes.

This debut comes from an author I very much admire and have been following for a little while now. Her writing knows exactly how to pull your brain and your body to feel whatever is being conveyed at that moment in time. This book is encased with angst and longing but manages to bring you just as much sweet as there is bitter. The events of the story are a wild ride and the pacing almost makes you feel like you’re watching a movie with a first, second and third act. A lot of the plot development occurs in the first half, making the second half feel much shorter in comparison. But, you never feel overwhelmed with information. Rather, I wished some of the information that is revealed was addressed later on in the story in order to build tension around the character’s relationships. You can tell that a lot of time was spent with these characters as they were being written. The beauty and the pain that Bonnie and Artemis go through feels purposeful and their actions make sense for who they are. They both have many issues when we meet them and by the end, we are confident that they have grown and come to a better place. Overall, I really enjoyed this read. I think there are a few things that popped out to me that I couldn’t ignore like some of the plot development and the pacing toward the latter half of the book. But none of it truly ruined my experience. I want to thank the author for allowing me to take this journey early and give my thoughts. I truly enjoyed it and cannot wait for the immense love to pour in for this piece.

I devoured Prestige in just two days and honestly, it would have been one if work and life hadn’t gotten in the way. Toni Reeb created a world that pulled me in immediately, and I loved how the story unfolded through dual POVs. I rooted for Bonnie the whole time, even though I often wanted to shake her out of the cage she was trapped in. Artemis was a great character too, though her name wasn’t my favorite, but that’s purely a personal preference and hardly worth mentioning.

The side characters were just as engaging. Each one felt distinct and real, and I could easily see myself reading a whole book about Mina alone. What made the experience even more special was stumbling across the author herself while browsing Barnes & Noble with my best friends. She was so warm and fun to talk with, and I was thrilled to pick up a personalized copy of her book.

This was such an enjoyable read and I truly hope Toni Reeb publishes more, because I would love to dive back into her storytelling again.

freedom

This is quite a story about two women Fighting for their freedom. Bonnie and Artmus fell in love when they were just teenagers. Artemis got involved with drug dealing and was sent to prison for 10 years. After she got out of prison, she went back to find Bonnie. I found the plot very good and really cut me on my toes. Trigger warning there is abuse, guns. And violence. I thought the characters were very good, and we’re excellently written. I was really touched by this book, and I recommend it to all who, like a different kind of romance story.
