ABOUT THE BOOK: "But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me" (John 15:26, NKJV). Searching for Answers: When God Reveals His Image explains how the Bible defines the Trinity of God and the deity of Christ. This journey into many hidden mysteries of the Bible reveals the heart of God, while emphasizing our need to give our hearts to God. Searching for Answers brings to light how the image we are created in is the true secret to a divine life and how this image has been made obscure throughout the centuries. To understand this, one must understand the divine image of God. A Question and Answer Session with God..., April 10, 2014
By
Michael Johnson -
This review is from: Searching for Answers: When God Reveals His Image (Paperback)
Cornell Thomas has afforded us the benefit of being the proverbial "fly on the wall" while he engaged in a 7 year question and answer session with God. His personal experiences have laid the foundation for the reader to gain judicable answers to some of the most significant questions we have as believers. His words are a brush, and our "open minds" become the canvas as a picture is painted regarding the sin nature, and the image we are created in. Searching For Answers: When God Reveals His Image should not only be required reading for the Ecclesia, but for the Clergy and Seminarian as well. ~Michael V. There are so many questions that one may have that involves the Bible. Some still wonder (to themselves) whom God is, and as He is perfect (1 John 1:5 (KJV), how could He being perfect dwell among imperfection. Still one may consider; if in Jesus dwelt the fullness of the Godhead, how is it that God cannot be tempted, but Jesus was led into the wilderness (by the Spirit of God) to be tempted by the tempter (Hebrews 2:18 (KJV).

This question is one of the most pondered upon; it being, is He three or one, and how these are the same. For me this answer is clear, but for some this question along with others roll in their mind from time to time (but most likely if asked they will not admit it). Some if asked; will give a bogus answer without really knowing for themselves the true facts given by the Bible.

“Everything the Bible mentions can be clarified, and backed-up with that same Bible.”
(Provided you believe it to be the true Word of God.)

This is no different with the image of God, Jesus, or the Spirit of God (1 Corinthians 15:40-49 KJV). These are just three natures (if I can use that term without offending anyone) of One Unlimited Powerful God that will do as He pleases in the way that pleases Him simply because He has got it like that.

My point is that these questions have an answer that can be found in the pages of the Bible, but sometimes some may need some help in seeing it. I recently read a book called “SEARCHING FOR ANSWERS: WHEN GOD REVEALS HIS IMAGE” by CORNELL THOMAS, some may have heard of it. Anyway; the writer goes on a journey through Gods Word, with God leading him. This is not a journey to a Seminary, or Theology class taught by a man (Not knocking that, I am in class myself) about a book written by God, but with God being the as Professor.

Don’t misunderstand me; I am not a book promoter, and I am nothing to you. To God I am somebody, and to a Christian I am a brother. So with-that being said: to a fellow Christian, or someone wanting to see a clearer picture of how the Bible explains the Image of God, Jesus, and The Spirit of God; this book (along with the Bible for the many verses referenced in the book), is a good book to look into. Scripture after Scripture is given for a clear-understanding of who you serve.
“It also can answer some of those endlessly-discussed questions that will be asked about The Lord God.”

As I stated; I am no promoter of man, but what is of God and what can help others come closer to God, or clear image to answer for (as you are required to be ready to give an answer to explain your faith); then that I will do till He calls me home. The book is not only informative, but it is well-written enough to keep the reader interested, this is (in my opinion) one true fact; because I tend to find other things to do besides read, and when I do it must be interesting.

These answers pertaining to His image are in the Bible, and are relevant in understanding who you are, and who you serve. You can pray hard and faithfully, and wait on God, or you can use what God has provided others to share with you to learn and understand better. For me; it was worth the few hours spent in the book, and to see a Christian brother take this walk that I desire to walk and reach out for the heart of God like he has encourages me to seek God on a new level.

I found this book more than interesting, I found it to be a perfect book for someone who wants to dig deeper into the Word of God.

I liked the first chapter where there was a question of how can God be three and one all at the same time. I thought I had the answer: the one I was taught as a child growing up in church. The example given was you can have a football team with 50 members on it. It does not matter if they are on the field playing or sitting on the bench, they are still members of the team, and the team is ONE. Those same team members can go on vacation anywhere in the world, they are separate persons but members of one team.

Well that made sense.

When I read about questions like what does it mean that we are made in the image of God, I tried to second guess the author but failed. I really could not put my finger on it. So I read on. . .

While I like the way he presents this book because it is good reading for anyone who has questions and needs more than a football team analogy, I found that I wanted him to expand on his subject a little deeper. Not just that he went to sleep, had a verse given to him, and the next day looked it up. I wanted a deeper explanation. I wanted not just a list of 3 verses but MORE explanation, more back ground information. I felt like the crowd of people where Jesus told a parable, but only explained the parable to the disciples.

I am giving this book 5 stars because of the subject presented was clear and easy to understand. It presented the Word of God as the final authority. And the author was honest from the start, that he was learning something and wanted to share it with us. I won this book on a Goodreads giveaway and want to praise the Lord for letting me have it.
