WHAT IF...... A frightening new reality has just come on the scene of America? A reality so abhorrent and unexpected is actually happening on a Global Scale? What if an "oh-so-close reality" series of events began to occur where an organization of "True Believers" consisting of scientists, medical professionals, and computer engineers came together to hatch an insidious plan. That plan, and the weapon they unleash, will provide a challenge to America's security in a way never before imagined, especially on American soil. But the world's best and brightest minds have always been on guard, protecting America from evil intent. Right? Is that knowledge our only salvation? Who will provide redemption when the enemy is two steps ahead of those bright minds? Two steps ahead of the Counter Terrorism professionals? Written in a riveting narrative style, Elevated Threat propels you into a new reality; a reality that hits you head-on with a new level of terrorism. Are you prepared? Join the adventure from Seattle's sparkling port cities, to the trading desks of the New York stock exchange, to luxury cruise ships, and right into your home. Are you ready?

I won this book throughba Goodreads giveaway, so thank you muchly to the author for choosing me to read you book.

I will admit i took a bit to get into, but I did get hooked after the part with the cruise ship. This book was exciting and scary. That this is taking place in pretty much modern day is really important and gives the book strength. There is so much terrorist related stuff going on now that reading about it makes it that much more real.

I liked the CIA profiles throughout the book. Adds an interesting touch.

As for the ending. It felt rather open ended. Is there a potential for a sequel?

I received this book through the Goodreads First Reads giveaways.
Had promise at first, but quickly became too technical for the average reader. Too many characters with not enough background, too much skipping around, the profiles were never explained (meaning, why were they even there?), and when I got to the end...well, what end? It left off in the middle, essentially. If there's going to be a sequel....well, that could have possibilities, but it would need to explain and elucidate previous information.

Entertaining thriller that gets better and better until the end! I enjoyed the eye-opening "what-if" scenarios that make you think about our safety against the 21st century. Robson really draws an image of contemporary and soon to be seen terrorism that should make people think about our vulnerabilities.

I won my copy of Elevated Threat from Goodreads.com and from the onset I was intrigued by the story, so much so that I read it in one sitting. A wonderful book, and a great thriller that kept me hooked from start to finish. I look forward to reading more works from the author William C. Robson.

I found Elevated Threat fascinating. It was a little technical for me, but I was able to skim those sections and pick up without feeling as though I lost the story line. I would recommend Elevated Threat, and thank Goodreads First Reads for my copy.

TLDR:

it had some ok ideas.. but I was very much let down given the high reviews from others. Basically I found myself hitting the page-on button on my kindle faster and faster ... and then just didn't bother finishing it at about 90% of the way through.
