Imagine for a moment—three dream-laden, hope-filled women leave familiar ports for fairy-tale adventures, where love and faith collide. A quaint, Greek village turns a cold, if not openly hostile, shoulder to physician Allie Alexander as she spurns city life for a ramshackle medical clinic. High-fashion model Natalia Pappas leaves the only home she's ever known—nestled among lush green Grecian hills—to pursue her career on the mean streets of New York City. And then there's Martha Pappas, who finds herself ready at last to open her shop, Once Upon a Time, only to find a long-awaited love just beyond the doorstep.

Long before Melanie Karis (previously writing as ANN NICHOLS) became a professional author she was a reader. In fact to sit back with a good book has always been just about her favorite thing to do. From when she learned to read when just a little girl living in Richmond, Virginia until the present to get lost in the words of the pages of a book, to be a part of the world of the protagonist, to learn about another's life through those words, indeed, sometimes to even "become" a character in a book, well, to her there is nothing better.
Melanie is CBA, the Association for Christian Retail, bestselling author of "The Faith of St. Nick: An Advent Devotional" (writing as ANN NICHOLS) She has authored numerous Inspirational Romance novels and novellas and historical articles for journals and magazines. "FOLLOWING JESUS: In 181 Scenes," is her latest nonfiction release. And truth to tell, of all the many books she has written, it is her personal favorite. In it she has taken the sometime confusing events found in the Early Middle Gospel accounts and using the Gospel writers own words has put them all together in an easy-to-read chronological and geographical timeline.
#1 Happily Ever After A darling story of hope, perseverance, and faith. I enjoyed this one very much despite a bit of head-hopping. The characters, plot, and Grecian setting combined beautifully for an entertaining tale that had me daydreaming about my own happily ever after.
#2 Fairy-Tale Romance The second story in this collection was mostly adorable. As the romance carried on, I grew uncomfortable in reconciling it because of the potential of contradicting Leviticus 18:9. The story was heavy on the preachy side, yet this was well written and quite inspirational. I loved the characters, setting, and most of the plot.
Content: drugs and premarital sex mentioned (neither shown)
#3 A Land Far, Far Away This charming story reminds us that love is not only for the young, that sometimes it finds us after much patience and many years. I appreciate that sentiment very much.
Content: discussions of mythological gods (but it’s clear that the One True God is the One to be honored)
Writing was very good. I could actually "see" the stories in my mind while reading them. Unfortunately, they were predictable and I lost interest in the third one. It would have been better to keep them as single books than in a collection.
Very nice trilogy of related stories. Even though it was a little predictable at times, it was a fun read without having to commit a lot of brain power to it!
I did not realize this book was "Christian Romance" so the religious references were a bit much for me. Also, I felt the three stories in one book were too similar. Seriously, 3 romances were "love at first sight", marriage within months and same birthdates too??
I like how the author wove three stories together within the same family. Each as a stand alone it great. Yes, it's not a complicated or difficult read. It's a good read and one I come back to.
