When my best friend called me, asking me to visit him and meet his boyfriend, it was the last thing I wanted to do, but it was Mason. I would do anything for him. I always have.
Mason Spence has always been one of the nicest guys I’ve known. An unfortunate incident in high school turned us from teammates to best friends and the rest is history. We were inseparable. We’ve seen each other through everything from getting our dream jobs to failed relationships.
When I showed up and met his boyfriend, I was less than impressed. It only took one dinner to realize that Mason deserved better than his new guy. He deserved someone who would always take care of his heart and not make him feel less than the amazing person he is. He deserved someone… like me.
J. Dylan is a bestselling author of MM and MF sometimes sweet, but always dirty romances. She loves creating worlds you can feel in your soul. J. lives in her real life fairy tale with her own alpha. She's working on letting her hair go naturally grey, loves mascara, drinks a ton of coffee, watches reruns of shows from the early 2000's, when tv was at its greatest, and loves traveling.
This is a really short novella, but it fitted in so much narrative. This is helped by Mason and Cooper already being best friends and being so at ease with each other. Ava turned out to be an unexpected heroine and needs full credit for getting things moving. This is a best friends to lovers and a bi-awakening story so the intimacy starts slow and the spice is relative to the newness. One thing that I noticed was how much hot chocolate these guys drink, I was getting a sugar rush. A really easy read with likeable characters and a believable relationship, which isn't easy in a novella. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I absolutely adored every second of reading this novella. It made me feel all cozy and warm and before I knew it the book was done.
I loved how Mason and Cooper already knew each other and they have been through so much together from high school 'till now. And all Cooper needed was a little push from an outstander to see what was needed. I really enjoyed how they explored together what they wanted and I loved the ending of this novella so much. It was soo sweet!
Jason and copper’s story was the perfect New Year’s Eve read. I love a good friend to lovers romance. This was a quick read and it left me wanting more. I would love a full length book of this couple!!!! Fingers crossed 🤞🏽
A novella made for the holidays! In a time where everyone is perpetually busy, a story like this is perfect, short and so sweet.
Two best friends, meeting up during the holiday season. Mason and Cooper haven’t seen each other for a year so Cooper is coming to stay with Mason to meet Mason’s boyfriend Ian. Who Cooper doesn’t like from the start, like he tends to do with every guy who dates Mason.
When someone points out to Cooper that he’s in love with his best friend, his life turns upside down. He has always been straight, but deep down it awakens something in him. A deep and powerful feeling that maybe Mason was for him from the start.
These two were so cute and perfect. I absolutely loved the scene at the Christmas Tree Farm. It was perfection, a complete embodiment of who they are together.
An amazing short story to read in one sitting next to your Christmas tree with a cup of hot chocolate!
I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
What a beautiful novella! I absolutely love Cooper and Mason’s story and their love for each other. Love hits when you don’t expect it! An amazing story and I highly recommend! “Love is love! Be true to yourself. We all deserve to feel loved and safe.”
Mason and Cooper are so sweet together. This is a friend's to love holiday novella that gives you all the good feels. Sometimes you don't know what you have and what you want until someone opens your eyes to it. That's one of the lessons that's learned in this book.
This was my first read by J. Dylan and I did enjoy it. I loved the holiday setting and the friends to lovers aspect. I enjoyed our MCs Cooper and Mason, who are very different but with a rock solid friendship. I liked the pacing, but I did feel we needed a bit more to really buy the feelings development between both Cooper and Mason. The chemistry was okay for me, not high in heat by any stretch and very few scenes, but for the length, it made sense. I just wish there was a bit more playing since this is a bi-awakening. I always need those diclscovery scenes to be good! I liked the protectiveness Mason showed and how he was always there for his bestie. And I loved Coopers' strength and self-worth. Really loved the ending, and if there had been more pages, I would have happily read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary copy of this book provided by Passion Author Services.
Mason and Cooper have been best friends since high school but after college they find themselves in different time zones, one in CA and one in NY. during one of the many visits to NY to visit, things change between the two.
Although it was super short read I enjoyed watching these two come into their feelings for each other. The way that they had such a strong bond as best friends first really solidified their romantic relationship even more.
It would be nice to get more of them in another book 🙂
A nice short novella that you will love and enjoy!
Coopers and Masons story had me since the beginning.
Cooper and Mason have been bestfriends since school. During the holidays they spend it together and figure out that they are fall in love with eachother after all these years. Friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes, I really enjoyed reading about Coopers and Masons journey.

A quick holiday read that deserves attention (even with various tidying needed). This was such a cute bi-awakening, best friends to soul mates novella that had all the quirky, sentimental moments included in such a short period. Cooper and Mason didn't need a lot of time to realize they were made for one another, and this was appreciated!!
This little festive, feel good novella is jammed packed. I adored Coop and Mas, I really wasn’t ready for them to end! It’s the perfect size to read in one sitting, curled up by your Christmas tree🎄 J has nailed this novella!!🫶🏼
Great story, I loved when the realisation set in about how Cooper really felt about Mason. And the progression of their relationship was so great, falling in love with your best friend really is the best.
This book was amazing, I loved it so much! Nothing better than a friends-to-lovers romance, especially around the holidays!
Mason and Cooper are absolutely so cute together and amazing! It’s such a quick fun read! And watching these two go from friends to so much more is amazing!!
Cooper and Mason have been best friends since high school and have stayed close even though they live across the country from each other.
I loved how Cooper was honest with Mason when he realised that his feelings went way deeper than just friendship and how open they were with each other.
This is a spicy friends to lovers quick read that brings all the feels and will leave you all warm and fuzzy inside.
This was a great little read. I wanted a story that I could finish in a short amount of time. It was a happy ending for the hopeless romantics. When you know you know.
Heartfelt, Coffee-Fueled, and Totally Worth Missing Sleep Over
I didn’t mean to read this in one sitting… but here we are.
“Time Zones” gave me the kind of emotional whiplash I secretly love, one minute I’m laughing at the awkward dinner moment, the next I’m hugging my pillow wondering why Mason doesn’t exist in real life. J. Dylan somehow fit a full-blown emotional journey into just 71 pages, and I am both impressed and mildly offended at how invested I got.
The characters? Real. The tension? Chef’s kiss. The emotional payoff? Whew.
Also, if you’ve ever loved someone quietly and from the sidelines… yeah, this one’s going to hit you right in the feelings. Grab tissues and possibly an emotional support coffee.
Looking forward to more from this author, because clearly, J. Dylan doesn’t miss. 👏🏽💜
This is a short but sweet friends to lovers, bi-awakening story, with all the festive vibes.
Mason and Cooper have been best friends since school, however they are separated by time zones now (pun intended). When Cooper visits Mason over Christmas to meet his current partner, Ian, his feelings become muddied and he realises that he may have been in love with his best friend all along.
I enjoyed the story arc, and I liked both of the main characters, but for me personally it was too short for me to really connect with it. I know novellas are supposed to be short, but this is the shortest one I’ve read by far, which made it feel a bit rushed and underdeveloped. I also struggled to distinguish between Mason and Coopers characters sometimes.
However, if you want something light and fluffy that you can read in one sitting, then you’ll probably enjoy this.

Did I read the same book as everyone else? 🤔🤔 In no particular order, here's what didn't work for me: 1) I didn't like the writing, it felt stiff. 2) The characters somehow seemed childish in their actions/reactions/speech even though they're in their 30s I believe. 3) For such a short book, there are so many things happening and not a lot of breathing room. 4) I wanted to be shown rather than told about Coop and Mase's relationship development outside of physical attraction.
this book was immaculate!! it is short but emotional and a little steamy it feels like a classic romance novel but condensed and it’s beautiful. i definitely recommend it if you need a quick pallet cleanser or you just need something small as a break from so many bigger books. the writing style and the plot go hand in hand
🎄Time Zones is a cute, cozy, best friends to lovers, holiday novella by J. Dylan.

My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🔥🔥*
🎄As a short novella, Time Zones was a nice break between longer novels. It’s cute, it’s lovely, the characters are adorable, it reads very quickly, for me it was a very much-needed and appreciated non-thinking type of read and I loved it. I felt the Christmas vibes strong in this one and I’m here for them!! I would have loved a bit more fluffy, cuddly content between Cooper and Mason, they were so cute together (the way Coop came back for Christmas !!!) (also loved how quickly Cooper accepted his sexuality, he was like, yup, guess I’m Mason-sexual now, it is what it is.)
I received an ARC copy in exchange of my honest review .
This is the first book I've read in the series but will not be the last. This is a wonderful best friends to lovers book about Mason and Cooper. These two were so cute together and such a fun, quick read.
Overall, it was entertaining, although the drama could have been much more appreciated if it had been a longer story. As it was, it all felt over-the-top at times, and slightly underdeveloped. It was fine, though.
This was a super short novella but it was a worthwhile read. I wish it was a bit longer so that some of the storyline could be developed a bit more. Overall, I enjoyed this book!
