Wicked Surrender

Rate this book
Every moment of my life was planned out before birth…

Family legacy dictates everything from type of education to suitability of friends to eligible marriage opportunities to the type of business I’m expected to go pursue. It’s more than just DNA, it’s also about birth order, gender, and unfortunately—the family name.

I was born a Reed and the weight that carries isn’t limited to the doors that it opens, but also the ones it bars shut. When I was tapped for the Royals, I saw my first way out—but it only proved to be a deeper trap.

Every single move I’ve made has been to tear us all free from King, from our parents, from our families—but there is no way out. There is only through.

We can’t break away, we have to take over.

Lies, betrayal, family.

The only woman I’ve ever loved is a the center of the board, courted and pursued on all sides by new players and old. There can be no truce.

My best friend? He’s lost his damn mind, avoiding me, and agreeing to plans he swore had long since fallen by the wayside.

Yet here we are. He’s surrendered.

I refuse to accept that.

I refuse to accept it for her, for him, or for us.

If the only way out is to destroy everyone in our path—then that’s exactly what we’re going to do.

WICKED SURRENDER is a full-length mature dark, new adult romance with enemies-to-lovers/love-hate themes. Please be aware some situations may be uncomfortable for readers. Trigger warnings can be found in the foreword should you require them. This is book four in a six book series that is a why choose with multiple new adults exploring and coming to terms with their evolving sexuality, identities, and relationships. Release date may be moved up.

I love books. Not just a little bit, but a lot. Books were my best friends when I was growing up. Books didn’t care if I was new to a town or to a class. They were always there, my trustiest of companions. Until they turned on me and said I had to write them.

I can tell you that my own personal happily ever after included writing books. I’ve always said that an HEA is a work in progress. It’s true in my marriage, my friendships, and in my career. I am constantly nurturing my muse as we dive into new tales, new tropes, new characters and more.

After seventeen years back in Texas, we relocated to the Pacific Northwest in search of seasons, new experiences, and new geography. I can’t wait to discover what life (and my muse) have in store for me.

Maybe writing was always my destiny and romance my fate. After all, my grandmother wasn’t a fan of picture books and used to read me her Harlequin Romance novels.

Friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, friends to enemies to lovers, you name it, I love them and love to write them. I started with Earth Witches Aren’t Easy, the first in the Chance Monroe trilogy, but my characters and I have traveled a long way since I created that urban fantasy world.

One of the series I hear my readers recommend the most is the Untouchable series followed in quick succession by the Vandals, and that just delights me. No lie, whenever one of my readers brings up my wolves, I do a little a fist pump.

I’m active on social media, and I love hearing from readers. Feel free to tag me with a question about any of my books, or just say hi!

Now, listen to me goddamn it, this is unacceptable!
Ezra is basically just creating problems now, and what happened to Lainey?
No. Just no.
WHY WAS SHE NAKED. I am literally scared on her behalf. No woman ever wants to find themselves drugged and naked in a pitch black room, and I am not fucking okay with it.

This book was better than the last. Mostly because I felt like they all bonded so much more, and everything with Ezra and Adam was just so raw.
I also love how Lainey is actually involved actively in the plot, and coming along for things, and making decisions. I always felt like that was somehow missing from the vandals series. Emerson was just so guarded that she wasn’t as involved in the plots.

I also love the insight to Bodhi’s story, and I really want to see the conclusion to it.

"Wicked Surrender" by Heather Long is a thrill ride that left me breathless and NEEDING more. This fourth book in the Bay Ridge Royals series is an adrenaline-fueled journey through love, loyalty, dominance, and the lengths we'll go for those who own our hearts. Wicked Surrender is teeming with twists that keep you guessing, relationships that set your heart on fire, and characters so real that you feel what they feel and thank what they think.

Every page of "Wicked Surrender" was a revelation, each word a piece of the puzzle in the tumultuous world of the Bay Ridge Royals. Heather Long's mastery at unfolding layers of her characters and their tangled webs of relationships is unparalleled. Everything from Pretty Boy being the anchor that Mayhem needs him to be, Bodhi stepping up and centering himself in Lainey B's world... and then we have Adam and Ezra. Their relationship is so complex. It's both heartbreaking and beautiful to watch how they find their truths.

This book isn't just a story; it's a journey—one that I was utterly consumed by. Everything about this book is unputdownable. Every chapter had me gasping. The cliffhanger? It shattered me, leaving me with more questions than answers, a testament to Heather Long's genius in storytelling. I love this world so much. I can't wait for Violent Chaos.

Oh Heather, you stay in that corner and think about what you’ve done… again!

Wicked Surrender dives straight in following the betrayal from my sweet baby Ezra at the end of the last book, and oh how my heart absolutely broke even more for him. Ezra really does believe everyone elses safety, especially his kotyonok’s, comes well before his own and will throw himself into fire, or in this case to his fathers vicious hands to keep Lainey and Adam safe.

I really loved Bodhi (as always) but how he immediately got Lainey out of that situation and away from everyone to process for a few days, where also another revelation was made and a chess piece added to the board.. at this point I really hope someone’s keeping notes of the moves, I know I am!

The relief I felt when Milo stood up and said “King, ain’t no wayyyyy we’re doing things this way anymore” and went back home had me cheering! I also absolutely loved the cameo from Emersyn and the guys, I’ll never have enough of them and not so secretly hoping there’ll be some more in the next few books. I was also pleasantly surprised by how involved Dominic was and the little nod to hopefully the woman being Rachel (Untouchable, iykyk) as well as of course Fletcher, cue happy sigh.

Now there was action and more action as we got further in, I honestly couldn’t put the book down. Lainey is fierce and so underestimated! Her grandfather I just… have a suspicious vibe when he’s around, something isn’t quite right there for me so I’m keeping an eye for sure.

The ending, of course, had me reeling and I kinda wanna shake these boys! I have a feeling whoever is behind this will include a shock factor.. the countdown to Violent Chaos begins!

Ooooofftt there’s so much to this book 😄 it immediately follows on from Ezra’s shock announcement in the previous book and the fallout 😬 I like how this gives us the chance though to see Bodhi and Lainey’s relationship develop - he’s really a stabby sweetie 😍 and finally finally between them they manage to get Ezra talking about his experience and feelings and you get to see him and Adam work it out somewhat…although in true Reed/Graham style it’s extremely volatile and not plain sailing 😖 Pretty Boy is pushed to his breaking point under King and decides to push back much to Mayhems delight! Love seeing all four of these men finally getting on the same page about their feelings for Lainey and having to share here, you begin to see the workings of their own camaraderie 😄 it’s clear though that the walls are closing in around them as the threats begin to make themselves known…its just knowing which parent it is or if its an outside threat 😮 Lainey’s men are really going to be pushed to their limits and dread to think what they’re going to do after that cliffie 😡😳

Well this book left us on a cliffy that is for sure. But it's the kind I like lol. I look forward to seeing the characters reactions and what exactly happened.

If you haven't read this series before it takes place in elite upper society. Where the families are battling with each other further interests. And the adult children are tasked with furthering things for their family some unfortunately so.

This book sees our main characters coming together as a unit and working more together. Although there's still some things to be worked out. Particularly between two characters lol iykyk. And questions to be answered.

We got some cameos from the Vandals series and more. And the next book is on pre-order. I enjoyed that these books have the pre-order blurb from the perspective of a different character which kind of addresses the cliffy.

that ending

I should have known after the last books ending not being too bad that we were in for it. But I do have to say I’m happy Heather has her corner to think about what she’s done and to plan on how to fix this for us readers!

I love this group, Laney is amazing, the guys know it too. Ezra, ugh! But I love him. Milo, Adam, Bodhi seeing this group start to come together is everything.

This book one more chapter me and I loved every second of it ( or mostly did lol).

Ezra is engaged. Milo is with the King. Adam is well, Adam, and who knows what he’s up to. So, when Phillip/ Bodhi offers to give her an escape, Lainey doesn’t hesitate. She realizes the men in her life are all acting to protect others, but she’s had enough of people falling on their swords. She’s tired of the power plays surrounding her. It’s time to talk, to lay all their cards on the table, and to take control. It’s time to include her in the future war. They have all learned the same lessons from birth. Information is Power. Power is not free. Risk is Necessary. With Lainey’s 21st birthday nearing; when her inheritance will be bestowed upon her, the stakes have never been higher. She will become the biggest power player on the board, putting her in danger. Her men are determined to keep her safe, but are they too late?

"Let's talk as men do". When reading this story, I feel as if I have entered a high-stakes game of roulette. I’m one wrong spin away from meeting a brutal end. It’s an intense game requiring mental sharpness, steadfast nerves, and good fortune. I’m not sure of all the rules and I do not like many of the players. I adore Milo and his deadly sex appeal. He proved himself by sacrificing himself for Andrea, and then once again when he put the King in his place. If only he could knock him off his throne for good. I adore Bodhi. He’s a refined savage. I’ve never encountered a character who is simultaneously elegant and murderous. I can tolerate Adam. He’s not for me but I see his appeal. I am not a fan of Ezra. He’s weak. His addiction could have cost Lainey her life. He proved in the end, that he does have some intelligence and backbone, but for me, it may be too late. I would be fine with him sailing off into the sunset with Oksana. However, the real star is Lainey. She is quite the woman. Fierce, protective, brave and she can outthink any man in the room. She is intelligent, cultivated, and astute. She has learned her grandfather’s lessons well but has adjusted them to include her values and heart. Unfortunately, her heart may also be her temporary downfall.

In Heather Long's previous series' I have always had a clear preference to one of the guys pretty instantly (Archie in Untouchable and Liam in Vandals) but four books in and I still can't choose from Lainey's guys! Except Ezra - he's back at the bottom of the list again. I am struggling with him a little as although he is showing some growth (especially with Adam and Lainey as well as when he admitted to Milo what his role had been in Milo's past) I hoped the threat to Lainey would be enough to snap him out of his self-destructive tendencies but he's not quite there yet. Although I loved the pre-nup scene; more of this Ezra please! I'm not sure on Oksana at all - I wouldn't be surprised if she was involved in that cliffhanger as I think there is more to her than meets the eye.

Adam also showed great development; I love how honest he was with Lainey and how although he wanted her for himself he would try and the same goes with Ezra. Bodhi though - he was the highlight for me. He was such a standout character in Vandals and I am really enjoyed learning his backstory even if it did break my heart. I am desperate to know if the new character mentioned is someone we know already! Milo's ultimatum to King was a nice development - I am not a fan of one part of the group being separated from the rest and I like that the guys are now working as a team while trying to figure out what on earth King's plan is. The slow burn from the earlier books is paying off as they are evolving into the family they are meant to be and I think the finale of this book will be what galvanizes them.

My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read

Welcome back to Bay Ridge Royals book 4. This book picks up where book three ended. If you’ve made it this far and have read the previous books in the series, then you are ready to deep dive into the deliciousness that is book 4.

Betrayal is never an easy thing to get over, especially from someone in their own group, and Ezra is no exception, and the reasons behind his choice will break your heart even more. He thought he was doing the right thing, taking everyone’s safety in to account, including Lainey, but he knew that the only way was to throw himself into the fire, which played right into his own father hands, but will it be enough to keep Lainey and Adam safe?

As always, Bodhi comes into save the day, removing Lainey from a tenuous situation, then taking her away from everyone just so they can process all that has happened. The revelations keep on rolling, adding another important piece to the board.

Milo finally found his voice and told the King how things were going to roll, moving forward, because he was done being a puppet. ***squealing*** because Emersyn and her guys made a cameo. It is so easy to miss them. And cue the surprise around Dominic’s involvement, yeah!

Lainey is something fierce and not one to be underestimated. She is stronger than we think. And her grandfather, in the 82nd St Vandal series she alluded to something about him, I always knew something felt off about him, and I am glad that this is being explored more.

If you love reverse harem, contemporary, multi-pov, best friend brother, gangs, elite society, reformed criminal, rags vs. riches, building harem (yes please), fast burn, and a cliffhanger that will leave you reeling. This book is definitely for you.

Highly recommended both the author and the book.

I received an ARC. Therefore, I am submitting a voluntary review.

I love learning that Dominic Walsh from Untouchable is Ezra's cousin. Their mothers were sisters. I like it when various series crossover. I just realized Cardinal Sins Series has crossover characters in Bay Ridge Royals, and I think they appeared in 82nd Street Vandals Series. The Bay Ridge Royals series is enjoyable. Mostly because I love Milo and Bodhi, they are by far my favorite characters. I also like Lainey's grandfather. I would have loved this series, but I don't like our leading lady, Lainey. I find her codependent and weak. She loves Ezra and allows him to stay in her life despite repeatedly hurting her and breaking his word. I dislike her because she continuously allows a weak man access to her life and Milo's.

Heartbreaking that Ezra framed Milo for the murder/rape charges. I hate Lainey even more for having had sex with Ezra. He hates Milo, and she keeps giving him the power to hurt him. In 82nd Street Vandals, Ezra warned Lainey from dating Milo becuase he was a rapist. Disgusting when Ezra was the one who set him up. He knew Milo was innocent. Ezra is an emotionally stunted alcoholic. I dislike how Lainey calls Milo a pretty boy. It objectifies him.

I like Bodhi and Milo. They bring out the best in Lainey. I am simply disgusted that she allows herself to be treated badly by Ezra. Reed and Ezra are stupid. They want to protect her, but they enter her home with stolen keys. If they wanted to keep her safe, they should have stopped interacting with her.

Milo and Bodhi are the only partners to use or offer to use condoms. Adam and Ezra are selfish and don't know how to love her. But she just can't get enough of their childish, controlling, and narscistic behavior. The characters keep talking about her strength but her actions are weak. She is not a strong female lead.

If you haven't read the previous books in this series, STOP! Go back and read them first, this book begins where Deceptive Truce left off.

As this book opens, we see Ezra as he prepares for the Fire and Ice ball. He's angry because what he was going to wear isn't there and instead there's something his mother picked out for him. Then we see him as his father informs him of what will be happening at the ball. To say Ezra's not pleased is an understatement but his father's words ring of the truth and the not subtle threat of the consequences of any defiance lead to Ezra's compliance.

It's Bodhi who escorts a stunned Lainey from the ballroom, leaving Adam and Milo glaring at Ezra.

I loved the way Bodhi handled not only Lainey's bodyguard, Karagiani, but also the event's security as they escaped the ball.

While Milo trusts Bodhi to keep Lainey safe, Adam isn't so sure. They did however need to find out what the heck Ezra was doing and why. King is far too pleased with that announcement, and Milo is curious as to why, but needs to meet up with Adam. Their exchange is interesting as is the sort of confrontation with Ezra.

Between Ezra, his parents, Oksana and her parents, King and Milo, Bodhi and Lainey, Adam and Lainey, Lainey and her grandfather and sister Andrea the tension just keeps mounting.

We see some of my favorite people from other series that are related to the guys here. I love the way those things connect.

There are so many twists in this book, and I absolutely couldn't put it down, I love Bodhi he's so good to Lainey. Milo finally puts some limits on King and Adam, well...Damn.

Of course, there's that OMG, please tell me you didn't do that ending, that has me wanting the next book, right now!

This is my favorite book out of the series yet. The first book was a novella that tied this series and The 82nd Street Vandals series together, and the next two books set up the world. They set up the relationships, friends, enemies, and backstories, which is all really important. But this book had more action to it.

The group is finally coming together, sharing information, and trying to come up with a plan to deal with King and probably a few other power-hungry elitists. Intimate relationships and trust are also being built within their created family, which is centered around Lainey.

Lainey is in more danger than ever. Partly because of her connections to Milo, Ezra, Adam, and Bohdi, but also because she will be coming into the first installment of her inheritance on her 21st birthday. She will soon have access to a large amount of money and power, and their are plenty of people who would love to take it from her.

The guys have mostly stopped fighting each other. Although they have still come to blows when a stupid decision hurts or affects Lainey in some way. They all will do anything to make her happy, even put up with each other. Adam and Ezra are beginning to work through complicated and evolving feelings for each other. Milo and Bodhi each respect the other and have come to trust each other because of their shared friends (Em and Freddie) and their devotion to Lainey.

Unfortunately, they all have too many enemies. Multiple threats are made. Some are direct. Some are subtle. It is impossible to remain protected all of the time. Based on the cliffhanger ending of this book, I expect the next to be even more intense and amazing.

MMCS IN ORDER WITH RELATIONSHIP STATUS:
Bodhi - 🍆
Milo - 🍆 & ❤️
Adam - 🍆 & ❤️
Ezra - 🍆 & ❤️

Sooooo….. I still continue to love Bodhi & Milo.
Bodhi with his “I’m basically a closet assassin killer, who everyone misunderstands, but I’m soft for you” and Milo with his “I’ll sacrifice myself for others every time” = me swooning 😭

Adam REALLY grew on me in this book! Ezra continues to annoy me with his stubborn ways, but I also don’t hate him. I’m beginning to understand that every single thing he does, he genuinely thinks he’s doing the right thing.

THE EZRA & ADAM DUO IN THIS???
The tension during the joint 🌶️ scene was insane.

The only thing I don’t like…. Is it seems like Adam is only allowing the Ezra mm situation, because he “needs him”. I’m hoping this gets cleared up in the final two books to be more of a mutual returned feelings situation, so it doesn’t feel like Adam is just going along with it, for Ezra. Because that doesn’t sit right with me! I want him to want Ezra, or they don’t have anything at all!

This books revelations:
• bodhi was in pine tree and many other mental health institutions to investigate his mothers death + he has a missing sibling somewhere out there
• the king has a rumoured third child
• bodhi is working with the network
• Ezra was the one that set Milo up for prison under the kings orders
• tally is up to something shady? TBD what
• lainey was kidnapped at the end of the book
• lainey comes into her inheritance and a lot of power soon

As of the end of book 4 we’re currently battling the king, Mrs waldemar & Ezra’s father.

Wicked Surrender brings us to book 4 in the Bay Ridge Royals and as I have found with the rest of the series, the story progression is amazing. It kept me on the edge of my seat and speculating the whole way through.

A number of truths were tossed out super casual like and it leaves us with so much to unpack. After Deceptive Truce, even with so many players on the board, I felt there was a clear line between friend and foe. But now, well now I'm not sure about anything anymore.

With our girls birthday coming up, Lainey has a lot of pressure on her shoulders as well as navigating the relationships with 4 very alpha men. It's a wonder she even has time to breathe. All 4 guys are so well suited to her, the chemistry she shares with each one and the way she wrangles them, is nothing short of amazing.

I still can't figure out what King's true motivation is when it comes to Milo and Lainey, besides wanting power but that can't be all it is. I don't believe for a second that it could be that easy. And what are Ezra and Adam's fathers up to? Mrs. Waldemar is also still very much a mystery. And Tally is still being weird from the previous book. i don't know what to make of her at all. What part does she play? There is something.

UURRRGGGHHH. I have so many questions and with only 2 books left, I can't wait to get all the answers but that also means the series is closer to being finished and I'm in no way ready for that.

Incredible! Can’t wait for the next book!

What the fudge! The cliffy, Kudos to the author, it’s resulted in a sleepless night of my mind racing. I can see this book and the mysteries in it to keep my thoughts going into overdrive trying to work out possible theories. It’s an incredible book and a prime example of why I love this author’s books so much, it’s got everything from a heroine that I end up loving more and more, guys that will steal your heart, and a plot that will keep you guessing and twists that you’ll never see coming. It’s an amazing book and I can’t wait to read more of this series, I’ll be counting down the days for the next release. If you haven’t started it then I definitely recommend you do, you won’t regret it.

Lainey I loved from the very first time I saw her in vandals but reading her story and as I get to read more and more, so does my love and respect for her. She is the epitome of loyalty, and I love how she is about each of her men. Each of her men fit a part of her perfectly and I can’t wait for them to become the strong unit/family that you know they’ll become. I loved seeing them a bit more in a group setting, and how they coped for the sake of Lainey, putting her first. I will say that I am firmly on team Milo and team Bodhi - they make me melt and swoon so much. I loved getting to see some cameos, it’s made me want to go back and reread their books!

Highly recommend

This book. There are no words! Honestly I’ve been suffering withdrawals waiting for this one and it does not disappoint!- (note I devoured the entire thing in hours)

Highlights:
Bodhi- everything about this man is beautiful, from his violence to his kindness, this book really Lets you peak closer at his and Lainey B’s relationship.

Adam and Ezra - I just adore it and i want to wrap Ezra up and at the same time slap him silly. THAT scene was just 🧑‍🍳 💋 😍 😉😉 3️⃣

Milo milo milo…. Loved seeing him tell king where to stuff it and return back to Lainey B and this man will forever own my heart.
Ezra’s confession around the prison sentence was such a poignant moment for me in this book, it reminds us that although Ezra is the hot mess in this group, he is inherently decent at his core and protects those he loves.

Side note- I adored the peek a boo visits from the vandals, this world for me has always been about love, despite all the chaos and pain. The unwavering loyalty, the way all these charters grow and love and care for each other is what makes me return to Heathers books time and time again…

BRING ME VIOLENT CHAOS NOW!!!!!
( I wanna see Bodhi go cray cray 😜)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Nooo you can't let it stop there. I need a smidge more. Lainey B has found herself in a dilemma. Yep you guessed it, this ends on a cliffhanger and boy is it a doozy. This picks up where that wtf cliffhanger ended at in Bk 3 and every page I turned there was always something happening nonstop up to the cliffhanger.

Lainey is struggling to make sense of what Ezra did and why as Bodhi took her away from the event. As Bodhi finally admits his feeling's that there will be an us and that he doesn't mind her having the others, but if any of them hurt her again, he won't hesitate to take care of them. What a guy😍. Ezra has decided he'd rather sacrifice his happiness of being with Lainey and Adam and gets himself in more hot water. I swear if he could ever get out of his own way he'd see just what he's doing to them.

Someone keeps coming after Lainey or one of the guy's on all sides as they try to figure out just who Julius King is, but it seems someone is always one step ahead of them while they're four steps behind.

All I know is that whoever it is, they've done effd up when Brodi, Milo and Adam find them. My moneys on Brodi he'll tear the world apart for her as will Milo and Adam. I need that next book.

The shiteth hiteth the faneth...
A mind blowing intense read. Heather Long brought me to the edge throughout and shoved me off... I do not have the elocution to properly explain the thrill, the chase, and the fight in this book.

Lainey, a formidable fmc, and I just adore her. Navigates her love, want, need, and desire for Milo, Ezra, Adam, and Bodhi. They are flawed but agree on their want to keep her safe. Also, they are trying to build friendships, if not mutual respect. However, enemies are closing ranks, unknown and known ones with various wants, but the secrets are on the cusp of being revealed, and I, for one, can't wait for it.

Tropes:
Found family. Secret society. Why choose. Bi curious. MFM scene. Spice. Cliffhanger. Age gap. Friends to lovers. Enemies to lovers.

Quotes:
“You’re not that much older than me.”“I’m a decade older than you,” he said dryly. “What I hear you saying is you’re a ten.” His snort was everything. I grinned. “Buttercup,”

“Mine,” I repeated, because as much as I wanted and needed his pledge, I needed him to understand my commitment. “All yours,” he agreed with a kind of ferocity that should have frightened me. The wildness was on display

Ok. Wow. I have SO much I want to say but can't say a word of what I want to say because it would spoil it all for you. So here's what I'm gonna say. You HAVE to read this series. In fact, you have to read 82nd Street Vandals first, then read this series. These characters are EVERYTHING!! Even when you put the books down, you will still be thinking about these characters.

This one was Adam's book and if you've been reading this series, you know that Adam has been the most mysterious. Let me tell you, the way he connects with Lainey, Ezra and even Milo in this one is so so good. Chapter 16, 17, and 18 are EVERYTHING! Bodhi pushes his way on to the pages much more in this one too and I am here for it!

Gosh, this book was over the top amazing and I'm literally obsessed with this world and these characters. Can you tell?! I'm obsessed and you will be too. Lainey is so B-A and the push and pull with the guys and what he is developing with all of them keeps you drooling and turning the pages. They have so much coming at them at every side but the theme throughout.... they will figure it out together. I loved every word. Can't wait for Bodhi's book and how that cliffhanger will be resolved! 😍

At the start of each book in this series, I KNOW there will be a cliffhanger...and I KNOW that it is gonna slay me to wait but... I love these characters and I can’t wait to read about them. For me, Wicked Surrender has much...depth and relationship-building. And it’s wrapped in some very smexy scenes. But dang! I think Wicked Surrender opens up more of what’s going on behind the scenes with all the families and man, are some of ‘em sickos. And then you have the generation that is trying to change things...

This is Adam’s part of the story. And Lainey (for someone who is young in years but MUCH older in the ways of the world) is at the center of all that is happening. She helps Adam navigate some of their personal backstory and deep relationships. But all the...”boys”...learn that Lainey is the key to everyone working together to love her, keep her safe, and search for all the answers – even their individual ones – as a team.

Of course there’s a cliff hanger; I wouldn’t expect anything less. But I found SO much to read and learn and digest that I may forgive the author for the cliffie. Maybe. Can’t wait to read what’s next.

Oh this cover. If he doesn’t draw you in *swoon*I don’t know what will. This book is apart of a series and while Heather does recap for you in the beginning, it’s probably best to start from the first book. This book may be my favorite of the series simply because we kind of get a glimpse of the main characters working cohesively (as much as possible) or as a team. Again not all teammates get along and this is the case here but we’re getting some much needed work together and not against each other. I loved the cameos we got from heather’s others series. If you’ve read the untouchables you’ll see a character come visit and then the beloved vandals *happy sigh*
Heather has the most impeccable touch with writing these kind of books. The storyline. The plot. The characters (some you love to hate and some you hate to love) The twists and turns keep you literally on the edge of your seat and dying to turn the page to see what happens next. The threats happening the empty promises the enemies being made. Reading these books is like watching a thriller/action packed movie and I can not wait to see what pans out in the next book.

OH WE ARE IN THE THICK OF IT NOW! Wicked Surrender dives straight into the aftermath of the finale of book 3- oh Ezra- and as always with Heather's masterful web creating, the plot and story thickens yet again. But we're also getting to the depths of each of our characters, all working through what is going on around them in their own way, at their own pace. Lainey continues to be a fierce but broken heroine, and each of our guys keeps evolving in ways both delicious and intriguing. Bodhi really captured my heart in how he steps up for Lainey here, and I'm loving how their group dynamic is evolving as their connection to our leading lady deepens and morphs individually. Plus, Emersyn cameo. YAS!

As always, Heather balances the heart/heat with all sorts of action and twists and turns. Just when we get answers and things move one direction, Heather throws a wrench in it all with more juicey drama. All leading up to another shocking and consuming finale cliffhanger and we need answers! WHO WHAT HUH. Yeh, more is to come, and I'm both terrified and excited to see what HEather has in store!

Oh my…think I need to freshen up after reading some of those scenes.

Then I need to figure how to cure this book hangover.

Lainey and her men - Milo, Adam, Ezra, Bodhi - are just perfect in all their imperfect and damaged selves. That ending in book three sets the tone but there is more to it and it’s a doozy at what Ezra has to deal with to protect Lainey and others he loves. Some sick and twisted shenanigans are behind it. Not to mention Ezra has a bigger elephant in the room with his connection to Adam and that I’m here for once that explodes.

There is so much unraveled but even more mysteries pop up. The plot thickens and ooh is it even better.

Let’s just say the intense, steamy scenes will make you very hot and bothered. Lainey has her time with all of them. So glad she got her time with Bodhi who is now tied with Milo as my favorite. He is just utter perfection.

And the ending …why??? I know cliffhangers are to be expected but …

* I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.

This book: RH, best friends brother, elite society

Where do I even begin? I absolutely LOVE this series and I swear each book just gets better and spicier! The group is more connected than ever in this book and I absolutely loved watching Lainey navigate her choices with the guys and how she commands a room by her strength and wit alone. There are so many twists in this book you never know what is going to happen next and I was absolutely immersed in this story from the first page to the last. I am still absolutely drooling over the guys, although I’m gonna need Ezra to get himself together. I get why he does the things he does but I hope he really steps up for Lainey and the others. This book leaves off on a killer cliffy that had me yelling at my kindle. I cant wait to read the next book and see what happens!

TITLE: Wicked Surrender
GENRE: Dark Romance
AUTHOR: Heather Long
TROPE: Enemies-to-Lovers, Why Choose
TYPE: Series (Bay Ridge Royals Book 4)
POV: Multiple POV
MY RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫/ 5

Just when I thought the series was wrapping up, I was caught off guard by that ending and the word that there would be a fifth book. Oh, Heather, how could you do this to me? I have a love-hate with good cliffhangers because they show me I am invested in the series and the characters, but I'm not too fond of the part where I have to wait to see what happens.

I thought Wicked Surrender flowed well, and once again, I was pulled into Lainey's world easily. I loved the growth in her relationships with Milo (Pretty Boy), Adam, Ezra & Bodhi and the spicy scenes that followed. I can't wait to see what happens next in Violent Chaos. I am giving Wicked Surrender a rating of 4.5 / 5 Stars.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

Gosh I don't even know that I know how to review this book and not give something away. Ezra mad a huge announcement in this last book and that is where this one picks up. There is bound to be fall out and you get to be a witness to all of that. It is the story of Bodhi and Lainey. There is a lot going on in this book and I fell like you need to discover it all for yourself. However if you have had questions and waited on things to happen in this series....it's probably going to happen in this book. You are going to fall harder for Bodhi. He is highly trusted to keep Lainey safe and he does a really good job In this book of doing that. There is a lot going on in this book and I hate this is so short but I need you to go into it blind and not know a thing that is going to happen.

I am completely OBSESSED with this world!!!!

Wicked Surrender is book #4 in the Bay Ridge Royals series. This is a dark why choose.

We pick up where we left off in the last book and we hit the ground running right from the start!

Lainey, my love Bodhi, Adam, Milo and Ezra are back and holy crap what a wild ride this one was! The twists kept coming and I didn't know what to think 😂 I am so in love with this group even though I'm still mad at a certain one but I can't get enough of their story.

We even are blessed with glimpses of some of our favorite Heather characters and the squeal I squealed when this happened, my husband looked at me like I was deranged 😂

And I can't even talk about that cliffhanger. It still hurts and I NEED the next book so bad!!!!

If you haven't started this series, go do it now! You wont be disappointed!!!!

O.M.G…I have the worst love/hate relationship with endings. I will definitely be waiting on pins and needles for Violent Chaos to see what happens next with Lainey B and the guys. Ezra is testing everyone’s patience. I don’t think the guys are going to be very gentle with his latest shenanigans. I won’t say any more than that. If you want to know what I am talking about you will have to read Wicked Surrender. I highly recommend Wicked Surrender, Bay Ridge Royals series, 82 Street Vandals series if you have not read it yet (I would read that series first as Bay Ridge Royals will have spoilers if you read it first), and Heather Long as an author. Heather is one of my favorite authors and I have not come across not one of her books that I have not loved. Seriously I can never get enough of her books. Readers can never go wrong with any of her books. Anyway, happy reading!!
