Fictional Reality: A Newcastle Novel

Rate this book
It’s just a story. Right?

Robert Fletcher is a successful horror writer with everything going for wonderful wife, beautiful kids, an amazing house in an idyllic neighborhood, and the brightest of bright futures. Until he started writing his latest novel…

Robert began the book just like all the a fresh pot of coffee, a metal playlist, and a story to tell. But strange things started happening. Scenes from his book became tragic news stories. He wants to stop writing the book to end the deaths and the horror, but forces beyond his control compel him to continue.

How will the story end? Find a comfortable spot, turn the lights low, and check under your bed before you descend into a world of madness and mayhem. It’s a page turner, but are you brave enough to read on?

Fictional Reality by Garrett Gorham is the next chapter in the Dark Harvest saga and oh, what a story it is. Robert Fletcher's life is finally starting to go the way he wants. he has a beautiful wife, two kids and his writing career is taking off like gangbusters. everything is perfecto, but life has a way of throwing a curve ball into the best-laid plans. a series of murders are committed in Newcastle, crimes that Fletcher is connected to and he's not the only one.
Gorham amps up the action and the gore without the story suffering because of it. the attention he pays to the minute details gives the novel a clarity and intensity that i found riveting and quite impossible to put down. this is the second novel I've read by Garrett Gorham, but certainly not my last.
highly recommended.

Horror writer Robert Fletcher makes a start on his new book. But the book he is writing becomes a frightening reality.
But how will the story end?

This book is descriptively written. Good character development. There is alot of characters in the book that at times was difficult to follow, but after a while I got to grips with who was who.

A dark and eerie read with occult vibes. Book started of a little slow, but I couldn't put it down around 20% in. Perfect edge of your seat would recommend to anyone who enjoys this sort of genre. 😊This is my second book by this author.

Overall 4 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐

"From the ashes of Cooke's Creek, Newcastle was born". They thought a new name could bring a rebirth. That the evil that was set upon them by vengeful witches could be banished ... or forgotten. They were wrong. Garrett Gorham has given us a deliciously wicked tale with a strong narrative that began with Dark Harvest. You need not have read Dark Harvest to get into and enjoy the story, it just gives you a little background into the town and prior events. What you get is just a good old fashioned horror story, waiting to be devoured. Which I did. Gleefully.

Gruesome killings

Rob Fletcher is a renowned author revelling in the success of his first bestseller. While writing his second book, there are gruesome murders which are exactly as described in his book. The killer is described as an otherworldly entity and the police are sceptical. Will they ever find the facts? A gut churning page turner which describes the horrific murders in a small town with supernatural overtones. The psyche of the characters has been well portrayed.

Great follow-up to the first Newcastle book! After the first few pages, I knew this was a book I wasn’t going to be able to put down, until I got to The End. If you like dark, absolutely unpredictable, twisted, raise-the-hair-on-the-back-of-your-neck type of suspense as much as I do, you can't go wrong with this book!

*I received a complimentary ARC of this book from in order to read and provide a voluntary and honest review, should I choose to do so.

Engaging from start to finish and highly recommended. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

An occult thriller. A suspense thriller. A psychological thriller. You won't want to put this down. So captivating. So spooky. So creepy.
Rob writes murder scenes. They come true. Wonderful detectives and officers try to solve these murders. The town's history comes into play. So good.

My first time reading anything by Garrett Gorham, now I have another author to follow! The story surrounds the Village of Newcaster and its people. As in most towns, especially small towns, everybody knows everyone, or do they? Fast paced, well-developed characters, and a twisted story. Surprises at every corner, enjoy, I certainly did.
