Gorgeous art! I love a good bad bitch and revenge villainess story. But there's still something charming about Juvelian just trying to eliminate her death flags and still being the lady that she's been. She's quite delicate and likes fine things.

I loved how it started as a pretty straightforward fantasy romance with a little comedy, until we began seeing more from her father and Max.

Most of Season 1 clearly shows us how much her father treasures her. So even as we see these endearing moments, it's not possible to forget that he gave her a knife and seemingly turned his back on her as she was sentenced to die in the original timeline. It seems to be an awful misunderstanding (and the lack of trust due to neglect and displayed indifference). So why did her father act that way in the original timeline.

Meanwhile, this contrasts nicely with how innocent and hilarious Max and Juvelian's are. Juvelian has no strength or power compared to Max, but her treatment of Max clearly endears her to him. So he goes along with quite a bit of what she asks (though with some pushback) before he understands why he's being so considerate.

The irony of trying to date him to avoid marrying the crown prince (who he is) is hilarious. One of Max's arcs kind of comes full circle as he finally understands his master's willingness to submit to the emperor to protect what matters to him. (Except Max definitely plans to kill his father so there's no threat. But I mean, similar enough.

But the real big twist comes at the end of chapter 53 when it's stated that her father knows about her death in previous timeline. 😮

initially i gave this 3 stars but the more i think about it, the more i hate it. the art is beautiful but the pacing is the slowest i've ever read from a comic, the story is a boring second-rate version of every villainess manga/manhwa, and the development is nonexistent. chapters 0 and 1 were literally the same but flipped. there was no progression of relationship with any of the characters around the main character. everybody instantly started falling head over heels for her and it made no sense, especially if she was cruel to them prior to getting isekai'd. there was a really weird, almost incestuous chemistry between the main character and her father—who, by the way, took me a while to realize wasn't a love interest because he's written and drawn like one. like he's featured on the cover looking like a lover and it's sooo like "ew and whyyyyy???" not to mention the coNSTANT MISCOMMUNICATION alksdfj;laksdf SO frustrating!! lmao there was also a random dig at the chubby doctor for his looks and it came out of nowhere like??? ik our community (east asians) is super fatphobic but it's still ugly and not okay. this webtoon would've been a million times more interesting if they developed the relationships, especially with the girls. i saw the potential for some really cute sapphic storylines, but i know they're not gonna go there because they're cowards so the 1 star remains ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

this only has a star for the art. that's it. father, i don't want this marriage is a half-baked series at best and an excruciating drag through the mud at worst.

So I originally came to write this review saying that while I liked it and really enjoyed my time reading it, I also didn't feel an overwhelming urge to read the next volume. However, I saw a review right before writing mine that made me reconsider if I should get volume two physically? (For some reason I can't choose the English edition published by Inklore for volume one, but that's what I read.)

I was surprised by how much I laughed because I wasn't expecting that with how serious and upsetting the first chapter was! I read the first three chapters digitally so I knew it would "lighten up," but a lot of the expressions Juvelian makes and the misunderstandings that follow had me laughing out loud more often than not!

I really like how because of her change in character, her actions are already causing changes in the "original story" very very early on! I think it made the story a fast read because it felt like everything was changing, but I wouldn't say in a rushed kind of way! More like in a way where I appreciated the story being told a lot more! Juvelian wasn't expecting her father to want to grow closer to her, but he's already making an effort to do so, which was honestly one of my favorite parts!

Yes, I liked our hero Max, but I sort of feel I'm here for more of Juvelian and her father's relationship growing and her actually being able to SEE his affection for her? I was bummed how it seems EVERYONE knows how much her father loves and cares for her BUT Juvelian. It was even upsetting to see how he is being used for leverage by a character I have no doubts I will continue to super dislike!

Overall, this was a super fun read! I feel a little conflicted about picking up the next volume, but I know that's because of the heavier price and not the story itself? Or at least I think so because after writing out my thoughts, I see that I did enjoy this volume a lot! Very thankful we have this series in print and hope that volume two will be just as engaging!

It's a concept that's been done many times- woman reincarnated into another world as that world's villainess. Yet, I found this one particularly compelling, both for the family dynamics, and the approach the lead takes towards the inevitable love interest. Through her eyes, his cruel calculations are overshadowed by how adorably awkward he actually is. This is a strong start, and I'm looking forward to more.

The story is so much fun, I mean, it's the same old story as always but I love the characters, and the art is gorgeous!!!
Jubelian is a whole mood, daddy Regis is just... Ugh, so cute, and so is Max. But really, it's the same old story: fake relationship, huge misunderstandings with everyone, very naive fl.
I love it, though.

Another day, another webtoon I pick up on a whim.

I really like the character design! Like how’s the DAD SO HOT?! And the guy. Omg. But I think the story is meh so far. Not much progress in volume one. I’m intrigued enough to continue though!

I don't think I'll be picking up the web novel at this time lol

That was epic ❤️‍🔥
The story, the plot, the characters were amazing 👏
The misunderstanding between the female main character and her father was so heartbreaking 💔, he avoided her not because he hated her 💔on the contrary he loved her sooo much that he was ready to be slave for the evil king so he could protect her against him 😢. It was the ultimate daughter father relationship 🫂. The female main character was very very very cute when she was young 😍, basically adorable to the bone ❤️.
She helped the main male character to change and grow into his better self👌. And she also safed all those who was mistreated and misjudged in her previous life, she brought justice to all those weak and misjudged lives ⚖️.
The final fight was epic ⚔️, when the mmc and the fmc father worked together to break the curse and seek justice💘.

I don't have any expectations when I start reading this manhwa, but I must say that the artwork is quite lovely and appealing to me.🤩 I find the story itself to be somewhat annoying because of the misunderstanding between Juvelian and her father, Duke Legis. Legis seems to love his daughter dearly, but for some reason, he hides those feelings to himself. I'm certainly intrigued to read more of this manhwa!🫶🏼😍

Max and Juvelian's interaction is cute and adorable! I bet Max purposes to destroy his master’s weakness will be in vain, as he will undoubtedly love Juvelian more and have to compete with his master, Legis!🤣

Strange cover. Was curious why it looks like it just says Father. She's not a villainess, she comes across as a scapegoated heroine. From what the other woman looked like, it looked like the character designs changed from the usual stereotype. Prince was awful. Another one that doesn't like being told no. Looks like she misunderstood at the beginning. The father's situation seems complicated. Max looks to be an interesting character. The FMC felt muted, so curious how she grows.

'You woke me up so I'm getting sleepy now. Do you mind going home?'
'... ... I don't have a home.'

Father, I Don't Want This Marriage is a manhwa about a villainess who originally dies in her story. However, someone reading her story gets sucked into the world of Juvelian the villainess and if she doesn't want to end up dying, she has to do things differently. Thus, begins the journey of Juvelian's redemption. I kinda have to keep reminding myself that it's not actually the og Juvelian the villainess but someone who was reading her book living her life now. Regardless, it's so satisfying to see Juvelian taking charge of her own life by breaking up with Mikhail (ehh), studying and aiming to be independent.

Max is easily the most entertaining character as he keeps getting thrown by a loop by Juvelian which is hilarious to see. Can't wait for his character arc and the marriage of convenience to commence already, TBH 🤭

Despite the looming question of will Juvelian make it this time, I'm glad there are funny moments and how the manhwa doesn't take itself too seriously.

Overall, the story is interesting enough to continue so far but I have to say that the art is simply STUNNING. This is one of those stories that I'd happily read it for the elaborate art alone. The chibi art in places is also always a welcome sight, hee.

I don't know. The plots is good and normally I like reading this kind of reincarnation but the drawing.
I saw and read many manhwa and when it's described as pretty it's really pretty but this one, the female pratoginist is not as I expected.
Sometimes she looks pretty, most time she looks weird. It's cringe sometimes and I couldn't focus.
Th drawing of other characters is actually superb but the heroine just not for me.
So I quit and find other books. Maybe I just done with The Emperor Daughter Books and still can't move on how beautiful and spectacular all the characters visual.

As with all my reviews of manga/manhwa/comics, this is an overview of the full series and may contain some spoilers as a result.

I had a fun time reading this. I come away from 123 chapters + some side-stories/epilogues feeling overall satisfied with the experience; it's an easy to digest fantasy romance with really pretty art that hits on some emotional beats while keeping the reader's attention.

Juvelian is a lovely heroine, balancing some comedy with a well rounded character--she's thoughtful and demure, so it's easy to be inside her thoughts. Max started out kind of rough as a character and his development was a little rushed, but I overall appreciated him and liked him as the love interest. Juvelian's father, the duke, was a surprisingly developed character who got a lot of time and energy from the story, which is a little unusual in my experience. The fact that he is so tragic and cares so deeply for his daughter really added a lot of depth to him and the story.

Now, that being said, I do think that it suffers a bit in a few areas. Namely in terms of the writing of the plot.

It felt like the beginning and ending of the story were not quite in harmony, like, someone began the story without fully outlining things and retroactively wrote things in later, so the continuity is a little weird and it makes the main themes of the story feel disconnected.

For example: in one of the side stories, Max recounts that he actually first met Juvelian when they were kids and they were sort of betrothed, but in the early chapters of the comic, Max behaves like he's going to meet Juvelian for the first time to see what's so special about her.

Then, of course, is the fact that the whole "I was a normal girl reborn as a this story's villainess and remembered my former life and that this is a story I read" plotline is SUPER promptly dropped and also weirdly conflicts with the later plot point that she's living for a second time anyway, as the duke reset time itself after she died. It literally only serves to explain why she went from being an evil brat to having a very different personality, which I think was something that could have been achieved with something else that didn't conflict with the other plot points so heavily.

Another issue that some readers might not like is that the early plot is... so misunderstanding heavy. Like so much happens because all the characters just jump to conclusions or proceed on pure assumption. They don't even consider asking the person to be sure. It's not as badly done as it can be, like, most of these things work themselves out okay and the story goes on, but you do have to go into this with a little tolerance for some eye-roll worthy nonsense.

This comic was adapted from a novel, which I haven't read, so I can't say how much was the result of the adaptation or the source material, but suffice to say, there is a definite air of like ah, the writer is making some cliche, amateur writing choices here. The writing overall could have been tighter and more polished.

Still, for an easy-to-digest comic with pretty artwork, it gets good marks from me for its pure enjoyment factor. The comic even decided to make a few of the side stories a little more explicit, so we get a sex scene with Juvelian and Max after they're married and we get a sex scene between a young Legis and Amelia after they're married. The side stories also have censored versions for those who don't want to read something more explicit.
