"An Earl's Christmas Seduction" is a historical romance novel of approximately 80,000 words. No cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed happily ever after.
Henrietta Harding was born in Atlanta, but she moved to Europe with her parents at the age of 7. She fell in love with France, and especially Paris, a city that inspired and continues to inspire her a lot.
No one is born a romance writer, but she got a good start. She has been writing since she was 4 years old; while other children had just started talking more fluently she had already written her first poem! She studied French literature at the University of Strasbourg where she met her husband during her second year in college.
Henrietta makes her home in Boston where she spends her time writing her own enchanting historical romances, and chasing around her dog for long hours, without even noticing. She truly believes the most perfect heroes and heroines are imperfect, and she rather enjoys torturing them before giving them a well deserved happily ever after!
Nicholas is a Duke, a recluse and possibly illegitimate. His search for the truth of his parentage had him inviting a specific group of people to his estate for Christmas to ferret out the truth. Amelia, lost in grief after the loss of her betrothed, is invited along with her mother. The attraction between her and Nicholas happens quickly. But there are secrets still hidden that he must uncover before he focuses on romance and there is another who plots to keep them apart. Add in a snowstorm and blackmail and you have a very good story. Although I must say that Nicholas was an idiot for much of the book.
With tender, battered hearts, Amelia and the Earl battled secrets and lost love to find their own happiness. A varied cast of characters, a villain, and a raging blizzard formed the backdrop to great characters and the revelation of secrets that would free them all. This was a great read.
I enjoyed Nicholas and Amelia,s story, snowed in at Nickolas Estate during a Christmas Holiday, the couple become close, there are secrets afoot, and a manipulated woman causing all kinds of trouble. Soon secrets and those that are involved will be revealed, that leave the young folks speechless. Thank you ❤️
Who is the hero’s mother? Who is the blackmailer? I like the excuse a lot of people gave “It’s not my story to tell.” The heroine is willing to help the hero uncover the questions at a house party with a snowbound group of people. It was a well written book with some steam.
