A man saves the life of a woman who has no memory of her identity—and may be a dangerous criminal—in this steamy, mesmerizing tale of romantic suspense.
A volunteer with the Maui search and rescue team, Greg Braxton is training a greyhound under the extreme conditions of a lightning storm when he finds an unconscious woman in a car at the bottom of a cliff. When she awakens, she doesn’t know who she is or what she was doing in a treacherous rainforest in the middle of a raging storm.
Nothing about the woman makes sense. She has the face of an angel but was found dressed in tawdry clothing, wearing a dead woman’s shoe. Is she an innocent victim, or a cunning criminal hiding behind amnesia? Greg takes to calling her “Lucky” because she’s lucky to be alive, but no matter how much Greg comes to admire and desire the woman he saved, he can’t give her back her past. With the law closing in, Lucky and Greg must discover her true identity before someone else—someone obsessed with her—finds her first.
As Greg Braxton and his dog, Dodger, train in search and rescue techniques, they find a car at the bottom of a cliff. Inside the woman has a head injury and is suffering from amnesia. She doesn't remember her name nor recognize her face. Greg nicknames her "Lucky" since she is lucky be alive.
The police do not believe that she has amnesia. When the car she wrecked turns out to be stolen, Lucky knows she may end up in jail if she doesn't come up with an explanation for her behavior. As Lucky and Greg work together to discover the answers to her past, someone is watching closely to assure that her memory doesn't return.
This is an entertaining romantic suspense story with a lot of twists and turns. I probably would have rated it higher except for the TSTL moments by the heroine near the end of the book. My rating: 4 Stars.
★★★★✩ I read this book years ago when it first came out and I remember I couldn’t put it down. I tracked it down this year and, since I needed the letter “U” for a challenge, I decided to see if it still held up. It is still a compelling read, and the author gets around the whole amnesia theme quite adroitly – at least as “medically plausible” (though you won't find it on the Internet). Part of the problem I had was that I remember the book so well; on the second read I wasn’t as spellbound by the mystery, knowing the identity of the villain. However, it does make me want to track down more of this author’s backlist.
This book is an oldie but goodie. I’ve likely read it at least 5 times maybe more. I’ve always loved this story. It makes me smile, pulls at the heart strings. Have you ever read a story where parts literally make your heartache ? Ugh this is one for me.

Unforgettable by Meryl Sawyer revolves Greg Braxton a volunteer with the Maui search and rescue team. Greg is training his greyhound, Dodger, under the extreme conditions of a lightning storm. When Dodger finds an unconscious woman in a car at the bottom of a cliff. When she awakens, she doesn't know who she is or what she was doing stranded in the middle of a raging storm so Greg nicknames her "Lucky". As they try to figure out "Lucky's" real name. She finds she might not be so lucky after-all.
I've seen Meryl Sawyer's books around before but have never really read any of them. They never seemed very interesting to me mostly because I have a really bad habit of judging a book by it's cover. I'm really glad I didn't do that with this audiobook. I really enjoyed this book. I've found that Meryl Sawyer has a great writing style. This book Unforgettable has a very intricate plot line. It was well written and even let you hear from the point of view of the villains from time to time. While still keeping their identity hidden until the right moment. Very nicely done without ruining or distorting the plot or flow of the story.
Erin Bennett does an amazing job as the narrator for this book. Erin made each character distinctive and interesting. I found that at times I would forget it was only one person doing the narration for this audiobook. Erin Bennett has a nice voice that is great for audiobooks.
Now for the production. I am and avid fan of Dreamscape Media's audiobooks and usually I can tell right away that the audiobook was produced by Dreamscape. This one I'm happy to say had me stumped. I honestly didn't know which production house produced this audiobook until I took a look at the end. The production was excellent as always. Just the right tempo and rhythm. Great for listening to while relaxing.
Now for the big question. Would I recommend this book? That is honestly a hard question for me concerning this book. My answer would have to be Yes & No. Now before any one gets upset with my fence straddling answer let me explain why I came to that conclusion and why only 3.0 stars. When I've just been raving about this book. If you have read any of my previous reviews you will notice I speak a lot about listening to the audiobooks in public. This book got points taken off because just in the first part of the book it was very suggestive. So no good for public listening. Yes I will recommend this book. It is a great book but not to anyone that wants to listen to this book in a public area or around children.

I enjoyed this book. Great information about search and rescue as well as marine biology. The Romance portion was believable and the suspense and thriller portion enjoyable.
3.25 stars for story 4 stars for narration. I used to read all this authors books as they came out years ago. I found this on Audible Escape and grabbed it. Unfortunately, it wasn’t as good as it could have been. It’s certainly not a police procedural unless it’s what you shouldn’t do! And that irked me because I’ve been reading so many good romantic suspense books lately. Parts of it were really good with a lot of suspense towards the end. The romance was okay, but I had a hard time loving the main characters. The TSTL moments by the heroine towards the end just made me mad. Also, the tell not show part at the end pretty much sealed the deal for me as a not so well told story. I did love all the animals involved and there’s quite a few. Even a tiger shark.
Lots of twists and turns. Strong characters. I am usually am pretty good and at predicted what will happen next, not with this book. I could see yours book doing great at becoming a movie. Worth the read
This was an okay story. I was brought into the twist aspect of it and loved the build up of suspense. The romance was there, but not in my face, so I appreciated that.
It will be unforgettable - the book with the word “rivulets” used more frequently than any book before .. or hopefully since. Can someone please buy this writer a thesaurus?
The description of the book I am listing below is from the back jacket of the book. I'm adding it because I believe the one on the Goodreads page does not depict this story.
"I CAN MAKE YOU LOVE ME."
