Prescott #1

Unforgettable: A Brother's Best Friend Romance Where Forbidden Love Defies Family Consequences

Rate this book
Who needs love? Not Anna Prescott . . . she says. A smart, successful woman of substance, she is willing to be a friend to Gavin Mathis, who plays pro football for the Detroit Lions and is the finest specimen of the African-American male she's ever laid eyes on. Gavin's been tight with her brother Wesley for so long he's almost family. So Anna's happy when she can help Gavin out of a personal jam -- and the fact that he's setting fires inside her has nothing to do with it. Gavin feels the heat too, but he can't trust himself to love Anna. Her folks, who've always been good to him, would be enraged. Besides, if he marries, he's afraid he'll become an irresponsible deadbeat like his dad, who just dumped Gavin's little brother on the ballplayer's doorstep. But sparks are definitely flying and this sexy lady's got his heart pumping like mad -- and it's telling him to go for it . . . and to hell with the consequences.

Favorite Quote: "She couldn't marry a man who didn't love her as much as she loved him."~Anna

This book was mind blowing and had me never wanting to put it down. All of the characters are so well written and they don't harp on cliches we've seen before that don't work. The pay off for each character was well earned and I can't wait to read the rest of the books in the series, since this is the first book in the series. Thank you Bette Ford for keeping my imagination running!

Gavin and Anna was the first couple that I got acquainted with years ago when I first started reading romance fiction novels. Their story will forever be my first favorite. ❤️

What a great love story. Gavin is really the epitome of what a real man should be. Stepping in to care for his younger brother with no questions asked, while Anna stepped in to help her friend out in a jam. These two end up falling in love, but the road is a bit bumpy along the way from the disapproval of her family members due to Gavin's past womanizing ways. You really felt for Gavin because he was so disappointed that these people (Anna's brothers and father) who he thought of as family had no faith in them. I thought the flow of this book was great, and it really kept me interested the whole way through. Definitely worth reading.

Sweet, but it was missing something. I like Ms. Ford's novel's, so I'll read another, but this one just seemed to drag a bit.

I enjoyed it but at times Anna got on my last nerve. Her low self-esteem was annoying. However, I will continue with the series.
