I am a USA-TODAY best-selling author with 41 years, 76 books, and numerous writing awards behind me. My major genre is historical romance. I have always written for standard publishers but am now writing strictly for Amazon so I have more freedom to write real history. My most recent publication is SHADOW TRAIL, the 6th book in my Outlaw Hearts series. I also wrote and published my first full-length contemporary story, DANCING BENEATH YOU, in September 2022, a romance involving mystery and a depiction of reservation life in the Badlands of South Dakota. My best sellers are my SAVAGE DESTINY series (7 books) and my OUTLAW HEARTS series. See my website (www.rosannebittner.com) for details on all my books - most available for Kindle and in print. I am known for great love stories filled with real history and high emotion. I have also written many Native American stories, all based on real history.

I love American history. For those of you who have not yet read my books, my stories are generally set in the American West of the 1800s and feature vividly described, historically accurate settings that span the US from Missouri to California, from Canada to Mexico. Many of my books portray the poignant history of our Native Americans, and though the characters are my own, I use real historical locations and events in all my novels. I have also written about the French & Indian wars, American Revolution, the War of 1812, the war with Mexico (the Alamo), and the Civil War.

National magazine ROMANTIC TIMES has called me the "Queen of Western Romance" and an "emotional powerhouse." My husband and I have traveled the west for nearly 40 years and I have visited just about every location mentioned in my books.

Not bad, but not great. I actually didn't finish it. Got about halfway through and gave it up. Not a bad story, but a little sluggish. Also, I didn't much like the main female character. She had rough young life, but she used people and lied to further her ambitions for wealth. I'm sure in the end she'll probably recognize the error of her ways, but I just couldn't make it to the end.

Unforgettable (1994) is another lesser known Bittner book which I found totally engaging. Bittner’s heroines are strong willed and stubborn at times, and the heroes are strong minded, and feel very protective of the heroines even tho they drive them nuts.

Sixteen year old Ally with flaming red hair escapes with her brother from an orphan train into a wild land grab in the west. Thru out the story she steals and cheats or uses someone to get whatever it is in life she’s looking for. Initially she hurts Ethan badly but he had hurt her. Thru their wild adventures, emotional and physical attraction, and long separations they still think of each other.., miss each other. But for most of the book they don’t even trust each other.

Bittner’s written a masterful character arc for Ally who had been abandoned, threatened and abused in her young life, and was left with emotional scars. For her, doing everything on her own and not relying on any man was essential to being successful and independent. However, she’s not a particularly likable person.

Ethan, Army scout, a widower at age 28 is a terrific character.., tall, dark and devastatingly handsome; the racism he experienced as a man of mixed heritage was heartbreaking. Bittner depicted this realistically and with sensitivity. No one does it better than Bittner in writing about the West thru her HR books. This is a really good one. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️

Rosanne Bittner's Unforgettable was captivating, spontaneous, & nail-biting. This is the second time I have read this book and I believe I loved it even better this time through. Ally and Ethan kept me on pins and needles, at times I was trying to scream some sense into both of their stubborn minds. I love how Rosanne Bittner's heroines are strong willed ladies who can stand up for themselves against adversary after adversary. Her heroes are strong minded men who know how to treat a lady, even though she drives him crazy. This is a fantastic book. This book is very special to me because all the places that this book is set in, I have visited and I know the area very well, so this is a close one to my heart. Never a disappointing moment with a Bittner book.

Ethan Temple met a couple of teens on the open prairie and his world changed. They were running from something or someone but he couldn’t resist trying to help them. Allyson and Toby were on the run! Street urchins in New York, turned in to be residents of an orphanage and now on a train headed west to only God knew where.
This adventure is one of heartache, disappointment and so many events that even brought hugs and love. As a half-breed, why was he so attracted to these two; at sixteen and seventeen, did they really know what the rules in life were all about. The writing of this author is addicting, and I highly recommend any book she writes. Thanks for a wild adventuresome story.

hard to love

I love Rosanne’s stories. I hard a hard time trying to like the heroine, Ally. I could sympathize with her for all her hardships, but her selfish ways were too extreme. I loved Ethan right from the start, so that kept me going.. then along the way I couldn’t help feeling for her strength and tenacity, and finally her ability to love again.

I enjoyed this journey and can’t wait to go on another with Rosanne Bittner!

Lots of Wild West action

and LOTS of words. Overly repetitious in my opinion. I keep reading hoping for the heroine’s redemption but don’t believe it was worth the harm she caused.

Reasonably good read with plenty of twists, turns and action to keep you interested. I have a weakness for stories that have a Half Breed in them. They tend to staddle two worlds - the white man's and the Native but seem to belong to neither. Always treated as the lowest of lows and detested by most. She is a feisty and determined orphan who ends up using people to achieve her goals but losing the ones who care for her the most. He was her husband but felt used by her so their marriage was annulled. Trust plays a major part as well as real love and not just greed to achieve one's final happiness. This is what she soon realizes.

This is the first book by this author that I am struggling to finish. It is entirely due to my dislike of the heroine of the story, and her greed and selfish behavior.

I liked this book but didn't love it simply because the Allly the heroine was very difficult character. She used people, including the hero, to get what she wanted and that does not make it easy for me to root for her or sympathize with her. I did sympathize with her since she was orphaned and had a history of abuse but I also found myself feeling that many of the bad things that happened in the novel as a result of her choices were just what she deserved.

Ethan Temple (the hero) is every woman's dream in a husband and lover. He is strong, handsome, selfless, and totally trustworthy. The way Ally treated him in the beginning was deplorable and made me want to rip through my kindle screen and shake some sense into her.

Rosanne Bittner is a very talented and gifted writer. I have enjoyed every book of hers that I've read. As difficult as the heroine was to like at times, this still is a well written and great book. It made me think of how I view other people and better yet understanding the reason behind why people do what they do.
