Good detail about a classic moment in NFL history..

This book brings back detailed memories of a powerful and defining moment in NFL history. Even though I was only born in 1967, I now feel a keen sense of that day and that moment. What a powerful scene - Arctic temps, high stakes, Hall of Fame players, and two of the greatest coaches in the history of the game.
If you love history, football, and defining moments....read this book.

Excellent Book

This was a book that was hard to put down. Riveting, detailed and a ton of inside information on the coaches, team histories and the players who played in that historic game. At the end of the book, a lot of game and team statistics and information.
Just a tremendous work. A keeper for the library.

A decent read about one of football's greatest games. the 1967 NFL Championship. It looks too at the rivalry of the two teams and coaches. It's especially fun for a Green Bay Packers fan.

Great read for those wanting to learn history's greatest football game!

I got so entranced with the detailed information about a game played by 2 of the greatest teams in NFL history. The Ice Bowl was played before I was born, but the writing of this is so detailed and accurate, that I felt as if I was in the stands and freezing cold weather, watching in real time. The more I read about Lombardi and Landry, the more I realized just how great they truly were. This is perfect for someone who wants to know everything about the most memorable football game in history!!

I read a favorable and inviting review of this book, so I was surprised to find it a dud. It was far too detailed for my interest as just a fan, and I felt somewhat let down--the author promised to surprise and enlighten me and did neither. I guess a real intense football fan would probably enjoy this.

I very much enjoyed reading this book. It was well written in an engaging style.
There was good background on the coaches, some players, and history behind the game. This included its significance to both teams and their playing history.

The most interesting item was Mercin's explanation for why his arms were up; appearing to signal the touchdown.

A lot of interesting football factoids. Probably any football fan would enjoy this, but especially Packer & Cowboy fans for obvious reasons.

Lots of names of all players from my youth but too technical and football terms and radio play-by-play segments were boring. I would not recommend this book.
