My wife and I were going to take a three-day trip to the Seattle area. As is custom on our trips, I checked out a couple of library books on Washington. We enjoyed reading about the many things there. We primarily went to see the Tulip Festival at Skagit County but with further reading decided to see the huge waterfall at Snoqualmie and to go whale watching.
I had never really thought about the fact that this state is the only one named after a US president. I didn't know there was quite a bit of trouble with the white man and the Indians there. It was interesting to know that Washington has two climate zones: the wet west and the dry east. They are divided by the towering Cascade Range. There are quite a few interesting people from Washington like Bill Gates.
I was glad I read the book.
