Moving through life has been filled with joy, pain, fulfillment, and disappointment, and something I wouldn't trade for anything. Raised in a close-knit community with an extensive family network around me, I married my best friend and we were blessed with two children and now our four grandchildren.

My professional journey took me from a background in social services to managing civilian human resources within a special forces unit. No matter where life took me though, my focus remained on inspiring and empowering those around me. Embracing kindness and positivity as guiding principles in my life and understanding that change begins within sparked significant personal growth which I try to model for others.

Writing has been a lifelong passion of mine never thinking I would self-publish a book. But here I am with my little publishing company LABYbooks. LABYbooks (Living A Better You) is committed to creating high-quality books aimed at enhancing the health and well-being of people as well as our planet.

Such a simple yet exquisitely look at the wonderful gift of trees we take for granted every day. Trudy takes us into the “bush” to get a fresh look and feel to all the complexities surrounding the life and death of trees and their environments and how we coexist and thrive with them not just locally but around the world.
It has changed the way I look, smell, listen and feel as I take my walks in the bush now.
My copy of the book has been donated to our local library for others to enjoy.
Thanks Trudy and Jeff for your contribution for a learning experience.

I appreciate the sincere effort put into this book, which is a gathering of a ton of facts on trees just as the title says! Super quick read, good for the budding ecologist to pick up a bunch of info quick.

I figured this would be a peaceful read and suddenly I’m out on my local nature trail staring at tree bark like it’s a museum exhibit. T.L. Driscoll somehow makes tree science feel cozy, fun, and surprisingly relatable.

I took this with me on a walk, put my phone on silent, and it gave me a whole new perspective beyond leaves and branches. Here I am now with more of an appreciation from trees medicinal properties to how they help improve mental health. Goodness, am I now "That Person" who talks to trees? (No regrets though).

For me, this was a tranquil read that turned my usual walk on a trail in a nearby park into a mini forest retreat. I genuinely don’t look at the vast amount of trees around me the same way anymore, and that’s definitely a good thing.
