One of the best cook books I've ever read. The directions are clear and direct, the recipes are easy to follow. The ability Felipe had to create intricate tasting soups from a few cheap ingredients (which is a good chunk of the recipes here) is unparalleled. If you're looking to just get into cooking, his vegetable soups are some of the best I've ever had, and usually only require a pot bug enough to cook the soup in, a knife to cut the ingredients, and something to blend (emersion blender, food processer, regular blender, etc.)

My favorite cookbook to tell people about, hands down
