Falcon’s Ghost kept me riveted throughout. This is a sequel to the first Falcon Book, Falcon’s Call, but is a separate story around the same lead characters and the same future world scenario.. Waller gives a very good prologue summary of the events in the first book for anyone who has not read it.
The basic story line is that Earth and Mars are once again under attack by aliens, and Joe Falcon (this time accompanied by his youngest daughter Raisa, his old crewmate Terry, and Io, the alien from the Minaret starship, set off on a voyage to the edge of the solar system to track down and deal with the perpetrator of the attacks. It is very hard to say anything else without spoilers, especially in relation to the nature of the attacks on Earth. I don’t do spoilers, so I will leave it to you to find out.
The writing is in Waller’s typical precise and easy to read style, and if there were any errors I did not notice them. I will say that the first few chapters are a little slow, but for a reason. Because this is a sequel, Waller spends some time bringing the reader up to date with back story, for the better enjoyment of this one. Also, Waller is a world builder, and this story, like the first, is as much about the journey as the characters. Waller uses descriptive paragraphs to build pictures intended to draw you in and take you along on the journey. However, the action starts early, and by about the 20% the plot is well under way, building the tension to a climax in the very last few pages
I can easily recommend this as a book worth reading. I received an ARC copy of this book.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Having already read book 1, I was keen to get into this one. And I have to admit, I wasn't disappointed! Although time has passed between the two books, the progression from one to the other was seamless and convincing. There was the occasional reminder of previous incidents but no long-winded 'back-tracking' which some authors feel necessary.
The technical details of the ship and computer, while totally beyond me, still sounded so plausible, that I could be convinced it really exists! And, Mr Waller, I am so glad you didn't kill off T!! Thank you!
If you like space adventures, I would recommend you read these; and if the thought of AI terrifies you, definitely read these - the twist will confirm your fears!!! Excellent work, Mr Waller!!

Although I don’t usually read Science Fiction literature, I enjoy Mike Waller’s writing. His intensely researched scientific detail, combined with well-established SciFi tropes, create a credible futuristic universe, while organically building a riveting and suspenseful tale.

This second book in the series takes the reader on a journey beyond imagination and into the psyche. Parts of the story are dense, but the pay-off is worth it, expanding the reader's mind, much like the infinite universe.

The title character Falcon, like the bird of prey, is elegant, sleek, and sharp-sighted. The wondrously imagined fact-based spacecrafts transport us mere mortal readers form the disturbingly re-imagined Earth and Mars on a mission to fight enemies who embody ignorance, hate, and knee-jerk defense mechanisms. Our heroes fight for the good of civilization, carbon-based or otherwise. What a mind-blowing story!

Real Science Fiction

This and it’s predecessor represent a return to great Syfy. The characters are real. There’s no magic and it utilizes reasonably believable advances in technology to achieve a great story ushering in a beginning to humanities spread across the cosmos. No spoilers here. It’s well written and thoroughly enjoyable. Not only that, it’s offered at a reasonable price and included at no further cost with a Kindle subscription if you have one. Very, very highly recommended.

If you love hard science fiction with lots of detailed description, you’ll love this story of advanced space ships and procedures. The protagonist, Joe Falcon, the mysterious entity who calls himself “Ghost,” Terry, and Raisa are intriguing characters. The attack on _____ is fascinating and bone chilling.

Epic Journey!

Imagine if, at a point in life one could swap into a clone ready and waiting for you? Imagine an alien spaceship so large it defies measure. Run by AI. Nothing is as it seems. Joe Falcon, like the other characters, is not perfect but he’s pretty darn good. Others not so much. There is so much to the story it made my brain spin more than once. I could waffle on for a long time. But just know that this superb space opera will take over every spare minute you have.

How do you battle an enemy that you cannot even comprehend? Our hero better figure it out or all of humanity is finished.

This is book two, but it does fine as a standalone. There are references to the first book, but nothing essential to your enjoyment of this one. So it is you call.

This is a science fiction story in its true form, exploring the unknown in all its many facets. The story is well written and easy to read, at least for the most part. There are parts that are rather deep, but they are well done and thought provoking in their own right. Both the setting and the characters are well developed and plausible, helping bring the story to life. Our hero, of course, is the focus of the story and gets the full treatment. Add in a plot that is very engaging and you have a book that is very hard to put down. Overall, I really enjoyed this introduction to the author and I look forward to going back and reading the first book. Then I will probably read this one again.

Highly recommended.

I received an ARC from Hidden Gems for review purposes.

Volcanoes Earth and Mars start erupting without warning. Joe Falcon , living on Mars is not content with his life since he was cloned and cannot age as does anormal human. He received a visit by a phantom he names Ghost who is on the Visitor's ship Minaret. The Ghost informs Joe that an AI called Aivris, has gone rogue and is responsible for all of the activities and must be stopped. Joe is reluctant upon returning due to his past experience. However; he is convinced to return with his daughter, Raisa as Captain of a new spaceship and a war fleet. Ghost informs Joe that he found out the truth since he is also an AI but not as strong as Aivris and told Joe that the Blackship was not an enemy as imagined . Can Joe overcome his own ghosts and stop Aivris before humanity is destroyed. Excellent reading.

Falcon's ghost had me wandering what this was about. Well it does have something like a ghost. The beginning Falcon's Ghost turned into what I thought was going to be an Apocalyptic space story. It was in fact what happened. The adventure involves the Monstrous mother of all space ship measuring for miles and it has technology that is unbelievable. There is plenty of excitement along with a few traitors. I do not want to give anything away except that you will truly enjoy this more laid back space story. The main characters are good and the plot is not all twisted but it does have some surprises. I enjoyed the slower pace and it made a great read from very good writers.
