The author presents a refreshing balance of revival and responsibility. If possible, I would put this book in the hands of every American.

Created to make a difference

This book have me hope that I can make a difference in this crazy, mixed-up world and showed me how I can do it. The first “half” of the book showed me how I can be transformed and grow in Christ-likeness so I can be salt and light in my world and the second “half” gave me a way to make a difference through prayer and action. Much of the inspiration and hope I received came from the stories of people who made a difference and the biblical foundation of the 12 ways we can make a difference.

I really liked the practical suggestions for how to make a difference. The author doesn’t impose an impractical one size fits all plan for making a difference. He suggests many ways we can practically apply the 12 ways and exhorts us to prayerfully consider how we can apply them in our individual lives.

I really liked the excerpt from George Müller’s diary on communing with God in meditation on God’s Word and prayer. Throughout the book the author exhorts us to pray to make a difference and this excerpt gave me guidance on how to have an effective prayer life.

I also really liked his appendix on fasting. It is solidly biblical and helpful.

This book will give you foundational principles for growing in Christ, practical ways to make a difference in your community according to your abilities and opportunities, and hope to fuel your endeavors.
