A.F. Montoya is a daydreamer turned writer who writes contemporary mafia romances. She’s been reading romance novels since her mother bought her one as a joke when she was a teen and now writes them and shares them with her mother, much to her chagrin. She enjoys reading in her spare time and supporting other authors. When she isn’t writing or thinking about new book ideas she is supporting her husband and kids.
3.5 stars. Alright. Well that was much less satisfying than I wanted. I mean. It made sense. I totally understand why it all went the way it did. But I just didn’t like the reactions everyone had. Especially towards Mariah… 🤷🏻♀️ Again. I get it. It makes sense. But it still gave me the icky feeling of indignation on their behalf. Plus the relationship didn’t really seem worth all of that. They had chemistry sure, but they had so many problems between them that it just didn’t feel like enough to leave off where it did.
I’m so disappointed!!!! No way she did Chase like this?!!! Why?! I loved Chase in all the other books before this one. I was looking forward to his book. And she turned him into someone I don’t like! Why?? He needed better story. I absolutely loved the FMC but she deserved better too!!! She was everything. I don’t get this direction with Chase. He wasn’t like this at all before. Croy continued to disappoint me with every book since Clink. All this he cares for his crew blah blah isn’t showing at all lately. The way he uses people not caring is horrible. He rather kill a crew member then talk and find out what’s going on?! I actually can’t believe Riley is still sticking around. I don’t know but I hope she can change this around. Because these books has been disappointing. The best one is Clink!! So far Sam and this FMC are really bada*^. Those 2 are real ol’ ladies. The others I don’t care for them.
To keep with the authors trend this story features a strong female main character. The story is also filled with action as well as an emotional scenes to keep the reader engaged with the story. One of my favorite parts of the story is the female main character, she is resilient and doesn't freeze in th face of danger. The main male character however was not one I particularly liked. In my opinion he seemed too whiney and over dramatic. Overall it was a great story, the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is because the ending seemed to be really unresolved. It seemed to be more of a to be continued than a clear ending. I look forward to seeing how the author resolved the issue in the next book in series.
I liked this book, but did not love it as much as the other ones in the series. I was so frustrated with Chase’s choices and felt like they were almost out of character for him. I also feel like he didn’t prep his girl enough which let her do more damage than good sometimes. And of course losing a character broke my heart but this was the catalyst that brought a lot of things to the forefront. I will definitely keep reading, if an option. I need to see how others react to the leadership change and more babies in the club.
I was so excited for Chase’s book but I didn’t like a lot of the choices he made. Of course, the old ladies continue to be the real stars of the books. This one had a welcome social commentary on police behavior. While this book disappointed me a little I’ll be back for the next one in the series.
Both mains were incredibly stupid. Brotherhood was weak. H got the shit beat of him (by rival and his own MC) repeatedly because he was intent on getting revenge on his own. Mariah should have steered cleared but she was TSTL as well, so maybe they make a good match.
This was another really good read in the series. This is Chase's book and we find out why he is so protective of the ladies in the club. A figure from his past rears his ugly head and things turn heated.
Good story but questions remain unanswered. I’m assuming these will be picked up in future books but would have been nice if the author mentioned this at the end.
Their buddy in jail, Trick - give us something!!!!!
