The way that this plot was just so needed in the storyline, I loved this edition to the series and the plot that was ever so building on what we already know to help bridge what is to come in the final instalment for the lost kingdom saga

I got to know more of the story for characters that hadn’t really had the spotlight much before but have been actively mentioned.

We get to see how the magic in this world comes together and is just ever expanding, how people are connected and what we have to expect going into the next book

Miss Laura Carter has done it again. I swear that Taylor Swift wrote Mastermind after Laura because this was so good!

Thank you to the author for approving me to read this book early, I loved it!

Omg I’m so obsessed with this instalment in the series, the new characters and twists!!! How we expanded on so many unanswered questions and then we ended on more twists, I’m so excited for the final book.

I still stand by multi POV being undefeated because this story thrived with it. There’s a few paths and motivations we wrangle with as the plot unfolds, but god does it come together nicely. The author kinda broke my heart a couple times along the way, but for that ending I’d suffer again.

what the hell, I’m unwell 💜

Anyway honestly this book was so needed and has made me so much more excited( I didn’t even think was possible) for salvation of the kingdom.

the new POVS we get add so much depth in the story and I cannot wait to see how each and every(well nearly every) characters story continues.

If you are seeing this and haven’t read myths and lies before reading this I don’t know what you are doing.
And if you have not read the lost kingdom saga this is your sign to read each and every book has been a 5⭐️ not many series do that for me so Welldone Laura 💜💕

Arc Review

Truth of the light by @author_lauracarter

Thanks you for the e arc, for an honest review

You got

Rulers forced into power
Gods with an unknown agenda
Lands missing in history
Memories lost and forgotten
Multiple Pov

Brutal... Oh my heart. One moment had me staring at the wall, to the next moment I'm in utter disbelief. What the actual hell.

This might be the only time, I really did enjoy the multi pov as it brings the story to live and understanding the motivation behind the choices that the characters has to make about learning about each other as they don't know how to trust. Especially when some can't remember who they are or where they came to be.

It has immersive world building quite literally and understanding of the magic system and powers, and history they are trying to understand. When your allies your self with people you don't know, they have banter, there is chemistry between them as well as that learning of everything and discovering the unknown.

There is betrayals, secrets and torments, prophecies.

That ending I have nothing to say. It was great.

I read this in 1 night I'm addicted to this series!

Truth of the Light is an addictive blend of paranormal intrigue and heart-stopping romance. The character development is top-tier, and the ending left me desperate for the next installment.
As someone who has read the previous books (also in one sitting 🤭) I didn't think she could top her previous books but Truth of the Light proved me wrong. It delivers everything I love: razor-sharp tension, a brooding atmosphere, and a magic system that feels dangerously real.
The chemistry between the characters is absolute fire, and the world-building is her most immersive yet. It’s fast-paced, addictive, and carries that signature Carter "edge" that keeps you turning pages until 2:00 AM.
Whether you’re a die-hard follower or a genre newcomer, this is a 5-star must-read.

📚I was able to read an advanced copy of title thanks to Laura Carter ❤️

Another 5 star read for book 5 of the Lost Kingdom Saga (I would honestly give it more if I could!!).

Truth of the Light was such a brilliant read. It had me deeply attached to characters I never thought I’d care for earlier in the series. Every character Laura creates brings so much life and deeper meaning to the story.

This book pulled me straight back into the action in a way that made it feel like I’d never left the world. It was full of twists and turns, love and devastation, and so many moments where I had to pause just to emotionally process everything that was happening.

I loved every second of this read and truly cannot wait for the final book in the Lost Kingdom Saga. Thank you so much, Laura, for allowing me the privilege of being an ARC reader—I loved every second!

You know a book is top tier when you can’t put it down and you finish it in 24 hours, this book (and series) is perfection.

Did I cry? Of course I did, multiple times. Was it as bad as Return of the Darkness? Not quite but it came close.

I love this world and these characters, the multiple POV, the world building, the sub-plot of romance, the never ending plot twists (I mean most of this book felt like one big plot twist but that ending?!).

I cannot wait for the final instalment of this series later this year, although finishing the series and leaving this world will be so sad.

Thank you for the ARC Laura 🫶

ARC Read - this is my fave book in the series so far and the emotional rollercoaster is no joke 😭😭😭

Laura has literslly created such a magical, layered, twisty plot and world and I just can't get enough.

Anyone who's been reading this series knows book 3 left on a juicy cliffhanger and this was such and amazing continuation of the series.

I fell further in love with some of my fave characters (iykyk), found myself in love with characters I didn't like previously and become such a fan girl of one character only for my heart to be ripped out.

I will not rest until I get my hands on the final book. 😭

3.75 stars! Where is Elisara!? 😭 Multiple POVs and not my main four… I was fighting for my life.
That said, the story itself is told so well. I really enjoyed getting inside these different perspectives and seeing how everything was unfolding on Ithyion alongside Novisia—it added a lot of depth to the world and the wider plot.
I did love it, but I can’t lie… it was missing a little bit of oomph. That extra punch that makes it unforgettable just wasn’t quite there for me.
Still absolutely worth the read—just don’t go in expecting your faves to carry it 🥲

When I first noticed that it wasn’t the usual characters I was sad, but than reading this book and getting to know these characters, it made it all make so much sense. We NEEDED this book, to understand the whole plot.

I need the next book like now, I need to know what happens next and how it all comes together. I NEED IT!

Honestly this series has my whole heart, I can’t stop thinking about it, it’s ingrained in my brain and in my heart, although I want the next book so bad I’m going to be distraught when it’s all ended.

The fifth installment of this series was truly perfection💜

Weaving together plot, character arcs & development, world building, also answering questions we’ve all been asking while posing new ones for us to ask as we wait for the last installment. This book truly encapsulated everything we needed this book to be with some added tears in that we didn’t need😭🤣

As each new book comes out Laura never ceases to amaze me. Her craftsmanship, her creativity, her skills truly shine brighter and brighter as this series goes on. I am truly so honored to get to see her shine as she goes on her indie journey. She is an incredibly underrated mastermind in this space and she needs every ounce of support she can get! Every fantasy reader needs to have her on their radar if they do not!!

Thank you Laura for always allowing me to ARC read for you. This world you’ve created will always have such a special place in my heart and I am on the EDGE of my seat for the last book (I need the rest of chapter 60 if you know what I mean)!

What can I say, Laura has created the most wonderful series and this is another masterful book! This book had some great new POVs which were written really well and helped expand the world of Ithyion. The story was paced really well and would always leave me wanting more. With where the plot has taken us in this book I can't wait for the final installment as it's sure to be fantastic!

Wow. Every time different characters and POV’s are introduced, I think that I won’t like them as much as ones already introduced but I am wrong every time! I cannot wait for the next instalment, but definitely need some time to emotionally recover!

Wow wow wow, Laura never fails to make you laugh and then cry and contemplate life all in one page. This was one of my most anticipated reads of 2026, and it did not disappoint 😍
The POVs that we followed in this book were the POVs I didn’t know I needed this much. It tied up all the previous books together along with giving us some new stories. We followed characters that we have met before and heard of before but didn’t know a huge amount about but it also gave us some new characters to love and adore 👀. The revelations the trauma the chemistry between characters the plot twists? I can not explain how elite this book is🥹
That ending ? Fuming when I turned the page to realise it was OVER 🙈 Say and stared into space for a while. Cannot wait for the next, and final book in October 🥹
