I usually pick up some kind of sappy romance or smut for my beach vacation so I decided to get this trilogy based on the hype. I constantly am asking myself these day why I gravitate towards the same book, the same story, every summer. Some of them aren't bad, in fact they are pretty good. I don't know. I did not find Ethan appealing in any way. I thought he was way suffocating, not in that sexy alpha stereotype we're used to in these books. And Brynne? I'll admit, reading what happened to her was hard for me to read. But i could not find anything about her character that would make someone just fall all over themselves she's-the-one-and-no one-else. She's obviously beautiful as the book states, but so what? It just seems like in a lot of these books, these billionaires are suddenly a one woman man, but why? I've read a few of them where it was believable. This is a whole other topic that I won't get into, but frankly, Brynne irritated the hell out of me. I know everyone deals with their shit differently, but come on. A man who is this big-wig in the security business is completely infatuated with her, and she takes off running at the first sign of stress in their relationship. I felt sorry for the guy. Also, the reveal of a certain something at the beginning of book three was a little insulting to the reader. It drug on and on, and I'm thinking "I thought these two were supposed to be smart?". Well I guess they fiiiinally figured it out, and shockingly, Brynne runs for the hills once more. Well, I know I've put it through the ringer, I really tried to find something I liked about it but I couldn't. I could probably smooth this review over a bit by saying it's me, not you. Which is very true considering I know exactly what I'm picking up anymore. I need my own personal hand-smacker for this genre. Amen.

Loved it
This is a beautiful beginning for Brynne and Ethan that is found from such heartache. I love how this story unfolds, I love the very possessive Ethan, so over the top! Loads of sex scenes, these two could not get enough of each other. Both had issues to deal with and struggles along the way which just made this a better journey. Not quite a 5 but 4.5.

This by far has become my favorite series! I fell for Ethan Blackstone hook, line & sinker along with lock, stock & barrel! He was the most romantic, loving, dirty talking alpha I have read that wasn't an asshole. I loved all the supporting characters (especially Zara, damn love that kid hard).
As any good series does, this one made me smile, laugh really hard & cry (yeah who am I kodding i downright bawled). It made me extremely happy & an emotional wreck. I can't wait to continue my journey with all the spinoff books as I am very interested in some of the other love stories and curious about how they are all connected. I'm especially curious about what happened with Bryenne's mom to make her that cold & only concerned about keeping up appearances at the cost of her family.

Tome 1 (vu que Goodreads l'a banni) ??
bienvenue dans la romance érotique pure avec de la domination, un léger remake de 50 nuances de Grey avec quelques points similaires.
si vous voulez une histoire pleine de domination et de smut, vous avez trouvé la série parfaite. mais je suis heureuse de voir que chacun des personnages a une vraie profondeur avec un passé, qu'il y'a des mystères existants tout au long du livre et qu'on est quand même plongé dans cette relation. le seul truc un peu dérangeant pour ma part, est le fait que tout soit écrit au passé.
je suis follement tombée amoureuse des deux personnages car je trouve que chacun apporte vraiment quelque close au livre par son caractère, par sa détermination ou l'aura qui dégage. le côté perdu de Bryenne me touche et plus elle se livre au cours du roman, plus je suis touchée par la personnage qu'elle est en général. la manière dont elle se livre à l'inconnu. et Ethan, quel homme. oui, un gros faible pour les hommes de cromagnons qui veulent tout contrôler mais il dégage quelque chose de tellement imposant, que je pourrais être intimidé à travers les lignes.
et leur couple ? totalement fan. ils ont une harmonie, sexuelle, certes, mais il y'a aussi cette sensibilité à travers les épreuves qu'ils ont partagé et surtout ce besoin irradiant de l'un l'autre qui fait sincèrement rêvé.
je suis fan de l'histoire adjacente car c'est un vrai mystère, et on est directement plongé dans cette histoire de sécurité et de courses à la politique. j'ai vraiment hâte d'en savoir plus sur tout ça.

January 28, 2022Warning – must have copy of the 2nd book, All In, in possession when reading the first in the series, Naked. Naked has one of the funniest, best endings of a book I have ever read. Plan to start reading All In IMMEDIATELY when you finish the first. More books in the series, but I haven’t gotten to them yet.

A good friend gifted the three-book Blackstone Affair Collection by Raine Miller to me because she knows I love angst-filled trilogies and series. That good friend is a knows me too well because I absolutely loved, loved, LOVED The Blackstone Affair!! This was my first foray into the world of Raine Miller and guaranteed that it won’t be my last! All three books were five-star reads!!!!!
Brynne Bennett is a beautiful American grad student at the University of London studying art conservation. She’s also a model, which brings her into Ethan Blackstone’s sights. Ethan saw a nude portrait of her and felt the need to possess it…and her. Brynne has a traumatic past, one that she tries to alternately run away from and cope with. The question is, which will she be more successful with?
Ethan Blackstone…. I am no Anglophile, but I need an Ethan Blackstone. Like now. LOL! Ethan is the British high-profile security expert who felt and gave in to his attraction to the American beauty. He is very much an alpha male with a very strong dominant nature. The next question is, will his dominant nature be a trigger for Brynne’s painful memories or will he provide the strength she needs?
My responses to the individual books:
Naked
This is from Brynne’s POV. What would a high-profile security expert, with a company of his own, be doing at an art gallery? Security, naturally, right? LOL. I must say, the first meeting between Brynne and Ethan was very interesting. Maybe because I’m a lot more cynical, I think I would have done the opposite of what Brynne did. But then again, the story would have been completely different if she had done what I would have. Ethan’s pursuit of Brynne was exactly what I expected of him. I loved it. There was one scene where I actually said aloud, “Dang girl, that’s jacked up”, but I wouldn't have faulted her for it.
I would add more, but if you haven’t read this yet, I don’t want to ruin it. Beware, this does end in a cliffhanger, so I do suggest getting the entire collection before starting. The end of Naked made me shake my head at Ethan and made my heart drop for Brynne.
All In
This is from Ethan’s POV. When you break someone’s trust and they respond accordingly, do you really think you can get them back? Do you think you deserve to? While Ethan knew he didn’t deserve to win Brynne back, he was determined to get his American girl. His confession to her the last time he spoke to her, honestly, was like a stab in the heart to me considering what he did. However, there is something to be said about pairing honesty with persistence. In Ethan’s case, it definitely worked. Ethan has his own traumatic past. His reactions to it don’t surprise me. What did surprise me was how well he functioned after living through a horrifying nightmare. It shows the inner strength of a person.
This one also ends in a little bit of a cliffhanger, but not as heart-wrenching as the first.
Eyes Wide Open
This alternates the POVs. This one naturally takes up where All In left off. I would say that this is my favorite book out of the three. A beautiful surprise, devastation, and stalker events, oh my! The beautiful surprise excited me and left me grinning maniacally. The devastation had my heart in a tight grip. The stalker event actually surprised me. This book shows the power of love and how it makes survivors out of terror and agony. I can’t expand anymore for fear of spoiling the book. It is well worth the read!
The Blackstone Affair Collection is one that I will reread time and again. Each book is hotter than the previous one and beautifully written. Raine Miller is obviously a master at her craft and I’m struggling because I want to keep reading hers even when I have ARCs for other authors to read and review! Bravo, Raine Miller!

Ethan is determined to marry Brynne in this book - a further measurement of his need to protect her.
When a person from her past comes into her present and threatens her - Ethan is determined to protect Brynne at all costs.... but who is this person????
Aside from this, this book is the building of their relationship together.
Their love just grows and grows.

OK where do I begin to tell you what a wonderful wonderful series this was. All 3 books were AMAZING....it was a beautiful love story filled with happiness, sadness, laughter, but most of all a love worth fighting for. This series was beautifully written by the wonderful Raine Miller that kept you on the edge of your seat and just kept you wanting more and more. The characters felt so real and you felt the emotions and love of this story through each and every page.
I highly recommend this series and I would give it more then 5 stars if I could. You will not be disappointed... you will only be thrilled that you experienced the wonderful world of Raine Miller and her brilliant books!!! :)

What an amazing love story! Ethan and Byrne are a perfect match for each other.He is strong and protective of her. She is strong too but a safe place for him to discover love. The series is filled with romance, a thrilling back story, humor, and very hot sex. It's cool how they met and how their past brought their bond closer together instead of tearing them apart!!! Very awesome story and I believe a must read!!!

A fast love affair with secrets, truths, lots of sex and a very happy ending. A must read.

Couldn't put it down!
Loved this series! I'm obsessed with anything English, and Ethan Blackstone definitely fits the bill! He is ever the sexy English gentleman, and Brynne is the strong, independent American girl living in London. Their story was exciting, fun, and of course oozed lots of steamy love scenes. I consumed the entire series in one sitting!

I so loved this series. I loved the intrigued and the love story between Brynne and Ethan. I loved how the main characters came to be together and how they interacted and evolved together. I had to force myself to put the book down. I can't for Friday to arrive so I can start the last installment of this series. I can't wait to how it will all end. What a great series, one of my favorites.

Meh.
The first book was okay. The second book was just about sex. The third book tried to create some kind of drama and failed. The constant affirmations of love was tiresome because there was not any real conflict....just sex and more sex. This author charged $24.00 for these books and it is simply not worth that.

I think I have read this series over and over again since I bought it and I realized I never actually left a written review, just stars. This was one of those stories that sucks you in and won't let you go until it is finished with you. I loved Ethan and Bri. They seemed so good together and just had such chemistry that made me want more from them. Love it

Wow! I listened on audiobook and it was a gripping story. I'm tempted to buy it on kindle so I can actually read it. In book two the narrator is a sexy sounding man with a British accent. If you want a hot story to clean house or workout with you've found it.

These three books were excellent and I can't wait to read the last book in the series to find out what happens in the end. What a lovely couple Ethan and Brynne are. Ethan is so hot and I love his dominant side. This series is a must read. Loved it...

Ugh. This was poorly written, so epically derivative, and completely lacking in a story that anyone would care about. I’m no book snob - I read 50 Shades and didn’t even lie about it. This tries to be 50 Shades and fails miserably. I’m most disappointed in myself for finishing it.

Got me from the start!
The series was suggested by my dear friend Shawn(Thanks doll). I've gotta say he was spot on, loved the story from the start, was absolutely captivating and I do love a story that is hard to put down. Thanks to Raine for a story well written!

I really like this series. Very emotional, but I love the dominance of love. This book was well written, and really took me away.

Amazing story from the first book through the third. I loved the entire journey with Brynne and Ethan. a MUST read!
