Hearts of Chaos
To save her world, one woman's fierce quest will put her up against an ancient evil--and a desire too dangerous to deny. She is betrothed to Seattle's most feared shifter clan leader. Still, the Lady Lucia can never be the dainty aristocratic wife Emory Corbette thinks he needs. And as a malevolent, all-consuming monster plots to take hold of their shattered world, Lucia will risk her untapped powers to defeat it--and challenge the Raven King's seductive rule. No one in Emory's many lifetimes has ever defied him. Lucia's courage and strength are shaking his iron control to its core ... and making him hungry for all she can give. But their only hope is a wrenching sacrifice that could unite humans and shifters in victory--or destroy everything Lucia and Emory desire most.

7 books131 followersKira Brady is an award-winning author of paranormal and contemporary romance. Her debut, Hearts of Darkness, was named one of the Best Books of Summer 2012 by Publishers Weekly, which called it, "Dazzling...thrilling...irresistible."
Kira grew up in a small Scandinavian town on the shores of Puget Sound, where she fell in love with cardamon braid and Kringle, which inspired her new series of interconnected sweetly spicy, humorous, sport romances set in a cozy, small Scandinavian town in the Pacific Northwest. Up next: LOVE AND PICKLEBALL, Salmon Bay book 1, in which a cinnamon roll pickleball coach falls for the sexy crossword-obsessed divorcee, with solvable crosswords, bad pickle-puns, and hot closet escapades.
Her Urban Fantasy/Paranormal Romance series, The Deadglass Trilogy, was published in print, ebook, and audiobook by Kensington Zebra and Blackstone Audio. This apocalyptic series is set in a grisly, fantasy Seattle where ghosts and shapeshifters fight to control the cracked gate between the living and the land of the dead. Publishers Weekly hailed the series as, “Seamlessly weaving threads of Babylonian, Norse, and Northwest Native American fables, Brady creates a dark, rich tapestry. The trilogy ends as it began: with beautifully rendered prose and multidimensional characters who capture readers’ hearts.”
When not writing, Kira loves reading, hiking, pottery, knitting, learning to play pickleball, and spending time with her family. She loves hearing from readers!

Hearts of Chaos
by Kira Brady is a paranormal romantic suspense novel that is the third book in the Deadglass series. Lady Lucia is betrothed to Emory Corbette, the shifter clan leader. But evil wants to rule their world. Will humans and shifters unite to fight the evil that wants to rule both their world and the underworld.
Unfortunately, I didn’t connect with the main characters. The pacing seemed slow and I kept setting the book aside. The danger, intrigue, and romance didn’t live up to my expectations. There are the usual setbacks, misunderstandings, and lack of communication.
Overall, this book didn’t pull me into the story line and keep me engaged. However, there are many readers who have thoroughly enjoyed it. If you think you might want to read it, check out some of those reviews.
Opinions are mine alone and are not biased in any way.

A hero's journey! This year I taught 6th grade reading, and part of what I taught was mythology and I had my student's write a hero's journey, like what the hero's in mythology go through. Well, imagine my joy when I started reading the final installment in this series and realized that is what it was :)
This whole series has been full of ancient Babylonian mythology, mixed with shape sifters, and I've enjoyed it all. But this book blew me away. Where I felt the others were a bit slow at times, this kept me on the edge of my seat with action. I LOVED that both Corbette and Lucia were the heroes. They both changed so much and couldn't have completed the quest on their own. Lucia blew me away. She had been so fragile, and hurt, in the previous books. She grew, came into her own and I absolutely love her!

4 1/2 Stars.
Disclosure: I received a review copy from the author in exchange for a honest review.
Heart of Chaos is the third and final installment in Brady’s Deadglass series following couple, Lucia Crane and Emory Corbette. It’s been a few months since the unraveling, where Demigod Kingu wreck havoc on Seattle and its citizen. The Kivatis (totem animal shifters) and Drekars (dragon shifters) are trying to pick up the pieces but the worst is yet to come as the Tablet of Destiny and Heart of Tiamat finds a new host in Zetain, a ruthless drekar warrior. Tiamat is finally freed from her prison and she plans to birth a new breed of children to create a pantheon she lost.
Emory and Lucia were betrothed from an early age, out of obligation to the Kivati people rather love. I loved seeing their transformation from the beginning of the series to their own book. I didn’t think I would love this couple as much as the previous couple, Grace and Leif but I ended up loving this couple just as much. I must admit I wasn’t a fan of Lucia from the start when readers first met her in Hearts of Darkness; she came off as snobby and immature. Everyone including the Raven Lord thought Lucia as a dainty fragile girl and because of the prophecy she must be put on a pedal stool; that Lucia will either be the savior or the destruction of the Kivati people. However Lucia grew immensely over the course of the series, becoming more than what people thought of her. In the first book she was physically attacked by one of her own people causing her to become even more closed off than normal but in book two she took her life back. She got fighting lessons from Grace and helped lead a group of Kivati into battle against Kingu. In Heart of Chaos she continues to stand-up for herself becoming a major player and fulfilling the prophecy. I admired her strength and determination to live life to the fullest…especially after what happened to her in the first book.
Emory came off as stand-offish and cold when readers first meet him, but yet he intrigued me. He was a man that people looked up to and at the same time a man that people feared. Readers only got to see one side of Emory in the first two books, a man that put his people above himself and an all-around leader. In this final book we glimpse the other side of him; one that is vulnerable and full of passion. It is in knowing that the end is possibly near that he finally realizes to live not only for his people but for himself. He breaks routine and his character and does things he wouldn’t contemplate before Lucia for Lucia.
Hearts of Chaos was an excellent conclusion to a phenomenal series. An exhilarating ride full of myths and magic. As I mentioned in my other reviews, this paranormal romance series is unlike any series I’ve ever read. Mrs. Brady is the only author that I know of that writes a paranormal romance that has different lead couples in a series but the same connecting plot/story arc and that alone makes her standout in a sea of identical paranormal romances. Brady pens a creative and unique world with multifaceted characters that you can’t help but fall in love with…even the baddies. The Deadglass series may have come to an end but the epilogue leaves an open door for a possible story in the world of Deadglass and one I hope Mrs. Brady will write. There are still so many stories to be told within the Deadglass world, so I hope that this isn’t the end end. I highly recommend this series to all PR and UF fans, you will not regret it! Brady is an author to watch. I will buy and read anything she writes!

4.5 stars - When the goddess of Chaos awakes, Raven- shifting Kvati leader Corbette and his intended Crane-shifting Lucia must journey to the Land of the Dead to obtain the only thing that has the power to stop the goddess. But if they hope to succeed, both must move beyond their deeply held beliefs... and meanwhile, back in the land of the living, all three races - Kvati, Dreker, and human - must join together or there will be no one left to save.
I really liked Hearts of Chaos, a book I almost didn't read because I was a bit iffy on the series after reading the prequel and the first book. In fact, I read this third book without having read the second, but Lucia and Corbette have a fair amount of page time as secondary characters in book one (they were promised in an arranged marriage and seemingly unsuited to each other even before a terrible thing happened to the Lucia at the end of the book,) so I think that I had a strong enough sense of the conflict between them that I don't think that skipping to the final leg of their journey hurt me much.
And Wow. The journey which takes Lucia and Corbette across the gates to the Land of the Dead in a quest for the only artifact which has the power stop an evil goddess and the evolution of both characters and their relationship are all really great. (I love quest stories.) I really loved that Lucia finds her strength and confidence and that Corbette loosens up and discovers what's important. And the best part of that evolution is that they end up well matched and true partners by the end - with Lucia more than living up to her Crane destiny. The other half of the story that follows the fight in the land of the living to save the Dreker and Kvati from that capricious goddess, with other characters taking the lead and also exceeding expectations, was also really good.
There are cameos for most of the characters from the previous books, and an epic battle along with a promise for a new future are all nice wrap ups to this final book. I enjoyed Heart of Chaos so much that I am tempted to actually go back to the previous book and see what I missed with Grace and her dragon mate.

Hearts of Chaos. Kira Brady
Review from Jeannie Zelos Book reviews.
I was a bit cautious over requesting this as its the final book in a trilogy, but it sounded so good I hoped that reading samples and reviews of earlier books would be enough. It was, I really enjoyed this story, and would love to read the earlier books at some point. Its a classic sort of novel that I love to read all of the series back to back , to really get engrossed in another world and lost in the story.
Obviously there were people and past actions from the first two books that I had to guess at, where past actions had consequences for this book. I loved the characters, a really good mix of good people, indifferent and bad – oh so bad! Lucia, I loved the way Emory saw her as delicate, and yet she was anything but. Their relationship was fraught with misunderstandings like that, where he acted one way to protect her and she thought he was rejecting her....really made me sad for her.
Its full of fabulous characters, all types of shape shifters and other types of peoples. Then the wicked, brutal, malevolent Taimet, who has to be stopped – some of her actions really made me squirm, she was really harsh and gruesome, but that fitted perfectly the person she was. The journey Lucia and Emory take to try to overpower and kill her held incredible surprises and kept me guessing. It was really dangerous and along the way they learned skills they didn't know they had, and found out much about each other. They returned almost different people, but changed in a much needed way that strengthened them.
A fascinating book, full of actions and drama, death and destruction, sacrifice, heroism and romance. I loved it and I think if I’d read the first two it would have been a five star read.
Stars: Four – solid fantasy, a story to read and re read. If I’d read books one and two I think this would have been a five.

The Deadglass series is so different from all the other paranormal romance series out there is the vast sea of books it is incredibly easy to get sucked into them. If you’re a reader that has grown bored with paranormal romance I can highly recommend this series to break up the monotony. Brady has created a world filled with ancient deity’s, old legends, prophecies and mythologies, filled with dragons and other numerous other powerful shifters.
Lucia and Emory are deeply involved in one of those prophecies. An ancient prophecy that could easily be misinterpreted has Lucia either saving all or bringing it all down. Due to recent events she feels she has already caused too much chaos and destruction. An ancient power hungry evil wants to takeover and bring forth even more devastation. Lucia and Emory have to do what they’ve been avoiding most to save the Kivati and every single other living being that Tiamat sees as her subjects.
I have to admit Lucia is one of those characters that grows on you. At the beginning of the series I saw her a weak and far too child like to ever be a worthy female for the heroine for any book I’d read. The events that have taken place since Hearts of Darkness have molded her into a brave and strong woman. I ended up liking her a great deal. Her fire thawed Emory’s icy heart. She was absolutely what he needed in his life.
Hearts of Chaos may be the end of the Deadglass trilogy, but Kira Brady certainly has something more in store for her fans. You’ll just have to read the exciting conclusion to this exquisitely unique series to find out the little bit that I did. I’m definitely looking forward to where she plans to take it.

I thought this was the final book in the Deadglass series, but after that epilogue, I'm not so sure..
Unlike the other two books, this one took a bit to get into for me. It really dragged in the beginning and I had to actually put it down a time or two and step away, but once it finally picked up with Lucia and Emory going into the Land of the Dead I was fully on board. We met these characters in the first book and again in the second, so when this one came out you already felt like you had been on a journey with them and now it was their time to finally find love with each other. Of course when you are trying to rule your people and can't seem to understand each other, finding that love is not easy and Brady clearly doesn't make it easy for them. I felt like their love scenes were rushed (yes they were on a deadline in the underworld) and could have been handled with more finesse. Maybe because this was the culmination of the events in the first and second book with Tiamet that it felt like everything had to be wrapped up in the main story, but I just wanted more exploration of feelings between the two leads.
I'm still a fan of this series and will definitely return to this alternate Seattle world Brady has created if she follows up that intriguing epilogue with another installment, but this one just didn't get me as excited and immersed as the first book did.

I listened to the audio version of a of the books in this series. I enjoyed them. The Narrator was good and they are just fun easy listening type books. Fantasy with dragons and people who changed into birds. A lot of Greek type Gods.

There were a lot of players in this series and it took a while for me to be able to keep everyone straight, but I could not put this book down. Very cool story!

nope. Just didn't do it for me. And yes I'm ashamed to admit I read the first 2 books. And even in those 2 books I trudged my way through grudgingly. So why did I get this book? It was included on Audible Prime. I couldn't finish this book because I would get to another event, roll my eyes and think "Seriously?" The H/h are in a urgent life/death situation, running for their lives! and they stop to kiss and fondle. Maybe... the H/h think they may not live through this crisis so they have to show each other their care for one another. But if it were me, I would be trying to get through the crisis as quickly as possible so I could save my Love's life and oh yeah not to mention the whole freaking world!
You know what would really happen in this situation? Running for our lives!!!! Bad guy getting closer! But wait! I must stop to kiss my h and fondle her and give her an orgasm. Then.... BANG! H dead BANG! h dead. The end....
SPOILER: Example the H/h are in a race to find the object that will save their people. They know their enemy is on her way to take over their people. They are climbing hundreds of stone steps they will lead them to the castle where the object resides. So close! The H is blind and the h is guiding him up the steps. And they stop right on the stone steps to have sex (for the first time no less!). "seriously?" This is just one of many ridiculous situations.
Sorry Kira. I tried to give it a chance.
fyi - my scoring
1 star - could not finish the book
2 stars - finished the book but did not like it
3 stars - the book was ok but probably will not read it again
4 stars - enjoyed the book and will read again
5 stars - truly enjoyed the book and would read again for many times to come.

Story 5 ⭐ narration 5⭐
Full review to come but I will leave you with the tantalizing thoughts that chapter 16 is probably the best chapter of a book I have read this year.
Lord oh Lord if they would only update the cover art this would be a standout series that probably was optioned for movie or tv. Fabulous characters, romantic and poetic story development balanced with its double edge of heartbreak, war and violence but not so over the top that you cannot read it or feel ill for days afterwards.
I found this radically different than the first book, of course there are the similar themes and character development but this one is much more poetic if not delicate like the female protagonist.
Beautifully done

I finished this because I wanted to see the trilogy through, but I so lost patience with it. Especially with all the sex and physical dominance in the Land of the Dead. "Oh, we must get to the scepter before the Enkidu, but let's stop and have sex while we're covered in mud and haven't showered in DAYS!" and "Kneel and stick my throbbing member in your mouth while we're surrounded by fire and dirty as Hell." Just gross. Also "Hey, you're blind and we're on the side of the cliff, perfect time for our first time together." SERIOUSLY?
I get that it's a romance novel, but this just seemed ridiculous to me, more so than the first two.

I picked this book off the shelf without knowing the order of the series. So, when I opened the book, the story opened at the end of another conflict. It was hard to follow for a bit. However, I had a blast reading about Emory and Lucia's relationship. It had a feel like a old epic story, similar to Gilgamesh. The main characters head on a journey to help their friends and safe the world. I read the book in one sitting!!

Although I enjoyed that Lucia and Emory grew in character, they still come across ever so polite and soft.

I just finished Hearts of Chaos by Kira Brady and it was amazing! Every road was thrilling, not a second wasted. I danced with the raven and flew with the crane! But Jacinda? Poor gal. I can wait to see her story. She has a long road ahead of her. I hadn't read the books that came before but that didn't matter. Hearts of Chaos is about the love of the crane and the raven. For those who already know the Babylonian myth of the Enuma Elish, this will be a treat. You'll get to see Tiamat be the real cray cray bee she's known for. You'll also get to see her make another pantheon of children, scary right?
I'll give this book a 5 out of 5. It was fast paced and amazing all through. I had been so sick of paranormal novels and was happy to read something that gripped me right from the beginning. Kira Brady is an author to keep an eye on.
What can i say about this book?
1. It's full of adventure
2. There is a booming love story
3. There are tragic tragedies
4. There is a prophecy
5. There is a goddess
And there is a revolution
Bottom line, it has everything you could ever imagine. It's tightly packed with action. It features the love story of a strong leader and a growing prophesied heroin. They have to go on a journey to save their world when the apocalypse walks through the door into their world.
Check out my poetry (Prose Poem) spiel:
Hearts of chaos. It made me smile, laugh and made me sad. A strong man depended on a woman for a while. He was Raven and she was the Crane. A fated pair, the harbinger and the Corbette. She was a spiritual as he was gritty. He was dark and strong as she was a frail and full of faith. One day when Tiamat brought down darkness and turned Seattle into the Hanging gardens, the Raven followed his spirit guide into the land of the dead. The Crane was weak and strong and flew far and true to warn the people of Chaos’ true aim. Their Corbette had gone into the land of the dead and the people despaired. The Crane full of fear flew true once again to the Raven. The people knew that Tiamat was one with Astrid’s body. Her Corbette needed her as she needed him. Strong like a bear with the eyes of a raven, Corbette warned the Crane to run far and true. The land of the dead could not two the living take. Balance must be restored. An accident of fate led the Crane to stay. Together they ventured into the land of the dead. Enkidu of Tiamat’s evil was ahead of the race to gain the scepter of power to end chaos’ reign. The Crane and Raven together went forth into the underworld. The lady be with them they exclaimed! They had to win the race for the Kivati, Drakar and human to stay. The Raven fell blind and leaned on the Crane. The Crane upheld the Raven as he fell blind. The faith became a ruler as the strength became the weakness. So the retelling went as from Chaos came order.
Oops; that's pretty much the whole book if you can figure it out. Read it though. read it.
Unrelenting and merciless as a leader, the hero allows himself no pleasure or happiness of his own. Instead he lives and breathes for the safety of his people. Though he's betrothed to the heroine and feels attraction for her, he's honest in the fact the he wants her for wife only because of the prophecy of her leading their people into a better age.
The heroine has led a very shelter life thanks to the prophecy and a vicious previous attack and rape has left her broken, but she's willing to fight for her people, despite what the hero wants. Though she's attracted to him sexually, she thinks of him as a cold unforgiving overlord and in part she's right. But when their world in threatened and the hero must travel into the land of the dead, she doesn't hesitate to follow him.
As they travel the barren landscape as are forced to confront their demons along the way, they each see deeper into the other person then they could have ever done before. They are instantly stripped of their powers when entering what is especially hell and left as weak as humans. It's from the jump that begin to see a crack in the hero’s armor as he mourns the loss of his spirit animal. As well as when he finds his father and he speak about all the resentment he feels for him about how he failed their clan and his mother. Even more when he loses his sight protecting the heroine and must rely entirely on the heroine to lead him. Slowly and bit by bit, the hero begins to show her his true feels and the fact he's always had them but was too proud to show them.
The heroine takes to her duties as his protector with grace and dignity because despite her fears and insecurities, she was born to lead and she was born to be the hero’s wife.
I really loved this story because though it dealt heavily with the supernatural and Gods and Goddess and spirit animals, it also delved into real issues. The hero’s resentment towards his father up until the point when he swallows his pride and calls for his help. Coming to terms with how his father did what he thought was best and his son’s forgiveness allowed him to pass on. The heroine forced to stand up to her attacker and allow him no forgiveness for his actions but taking all power for him to her again. And the hero’s burden of responsibly that blinds him to love and understanding. Such a marvelous book, characters was always spot on.

The Unraveling, seven months ago, demolished the Gates between the Land of the Living and the Land of the Dead. It allowed the Babylonian demigod, Kingu, into the Living World, making the city of Seattle a ruin. Since then Kingu has gathered armies of undead and has been seeking Tiamat’s Heart, the Babylonian Goddess of Chaos, in order to extract those powers. But a brave young woman, Lucia led a band of Kivati warriors under the leadership of Lord Kai, and defeated Kingu. In doing so, however, she ignored the Raven Lord’s orders, so Lucia will have to face him soon, as he is also her betrothed.
Lucia has known that she is the Crane, the one who will lead her people out of darkness. She has also known that her future should lie with Emory Corbett, the Raven Lord, who is her fiancé. But Lucia wants nothing more to do with any of this, she’s frightened, and despite her physical attraction to Corbett, she loathes the thought of marrying him. As she heads to Kivati Hall to face Corbett, the Aether (shining water that fills the space between air and earth) heats up. Kai and his fellow Thunderbirds shapeshift into the giant birds they have as their totems, and land near the Raven Lord, handsome, powerful, and deadly. Corbett is furious with her betrayal, and Lucia stands up to him, as scared as she is. Then later, she calls off the engagement, much to her family’s disappointment, and Corbett’s shock.
Tiamat, in the meantime has taken over Lord Kai’s former lover’s body, Astrid Zetian. Kai is unaware of this at first, but soon is under Tiamat’s control when she takes over the city. Corbett sets off for the Land of the Dead in order to retrieve the Scepter of the Goddess of Death, and to his astonishment, he is suddenly joined by Lucia. Can Corbett put aside his feelings for Lucia in their deadly quest? Will they be able to convince the Goddess of Death to give them the Scepter – and what will be her price?
Book three of the Deadglass series, HEARTS OF CHAOS begins with a brutal battle, and takes readers through a maze of both heartrending and magical adventures. Lucia and Corbett are at odds with each other from the beginning, but still both want what is best for their people and their world. If teaming up to destroy Tiamat is what it will take, they are both prepared to do so. There will be much heartache involved, though.

We have reached the end. This is the final book in the Deadglass Trilogy. I will say this one is my favorite.
Lady Lucia has played a major role in the series and her part is really just beginning. In this story we get to watch her grow even more. She is a lovely woman and I was cheering her along her journey from the first page.
Emory Corbette, hmmm I can honestly say he shocked me many times; some good and some made me want to beat him to death…slowly. He also had a very interesting journey. Did it make up for how I felt about him? The jury is still out.
Their world has fallen to a great foe; one that was thought to have been stopped, but not contained. The time of the prophecy has begun. Lucia and Emory must battle themselves and each other to conquer the world’s greatest enemy and ensure the fulfillment of the prophecy. Their trials were, at times, personal and very painful. Together they endured because their people need the light of the Crane, now more than ever in this time of darkness.
NON STOP ACTION!!. I was amazed at how much these two people had to endure and Ms. Brady kept me turning the pages. I couldn’t put this story down. Excellent storytelling! I was disappointed that the prior main characters in the other two stories played little or no roles in this final novel, but I really was too busy soaking it all up not to notice until I had a moment to think about it.
Since I did read the last two novels of the trilogy a day apart, I was also frustrated with the transition between the two. The two timelines didn’t match up, but don’t let that small detail stop you from enjoying the captivating action, tension filled romance and creative plot. Hearts of Chaos is beautifully detailed and gripping and is perfect for readers who want more than just romance in their books.

Ok now this is the third book in the Deadglass series and unfortunately only my first by this author. I hadn't realised it was a series but I don't regret reading this book. No in fact im going to read the others in this series , starting with Hearts of Darkness because I feel that I've seriously missed out!
Set in a world that's broken and turbulent we meet Lucia , who is engaged to the most powerful shapeshifter alive Emory Corbettre. It's a betrothal of necessity rather than .love but Lucia wants him to see the woman within her and not just hs duty.
Lucia has been broken and is still putting her fragile psyche back together . She was cruelly used as a sacrifice when her virgin blood was used to tear down the gates that guard the underworld but the real Lucia is crawling back. Determined to help protect what remains of her people she won't allow anyone to stand in her way , not even Emory! Together they will embark on a journey through death itself in the hope of salvation.
Oh my what an amazing read! It's a confusing mixture at first of shape shifters, demons, babyloneon Demi gods and even draws on Native American folklore involving spirits but it's certainly not dull!
I thought at first it mght be urban fantasy but there is a very hot romance within this book so you have been warned! Not for those who don't enjoy sex within their books.
It took a little while for me to get sucked into the world the author has created but once I understood all that was happening, bam! It took off like a steam train and it became an amazing ride!
Fabulous world building , amazing characters and an evil villainess , what's not to love?
Ending with the most intriguing epilogue I'm so very happy to recommend this book.!

I was really looking forward to Lucia & Corbette's story (their interactions in the previous books were pretty interesting) but this ended up being a snooze-fest.
This book didn't go the way I expected it to. It could have been a good thing: who doesn't like being surprised in the very conventional romance genre? I mean, for the most part, it's as if authors were writing with a list of items they have to include in their books. And authors all get the same list. But here it didn't pay off. I was bored and felt Ms Brady wasted the potential of the characters she had created.
Very early in the book, Corbette and Lucia leave on a quest to find a Very Special Item that will help them defeat the Big Bad of the story. That quest takes them the rest of the book and the story never recovers from it: they encounter Important People Who Died (and deal with them in WTF?!? ways) and sneak in as many make-out/sex sessions as they can in between each "task". It felt like I was reading a YA book light on meaningful plot and heavy on teenage angst.
And when we weren't in Corbette or Lucia's heads, we had to listen to Bad Boy Kai whining about being turned on in spite of himself by the hot body of the Big Bad of the story. He kept on and on about it like a broken record.
I only managed to finish the book because of the fondness I had for the 2 main characters in the previous books in the series but I probably won't read anything else by this author in the future if Hearts of Chaos is a sample of things to come.

What I Loved
Characters
Lucia: In the beginning of the series I wasn't too impressed by her, she was a weak whiny character. By book 2 we got to learn a little more about Lucia and I started thinking ok maybe she does have a little bit of a back bone. By this final book I was way more impressed by her and happy with her personal growth and strength. She still has some moments of weakness that irritate me a little but overall much better.
Emory: We meet him all throughout the other 2 books as well. His character has also been very standoffish and only about being the stone cold hearted leader of his people. Well in this book we final get to understand why he is always so guarded and he finally loosens up a bit.
Romance
Yes lots of romance and lots of sex. But I sometimes felt it was a little too often, I kept on thinking aren't they in a hurry to save the world, but I do think it contributes to there building of trust and there success.
Fantasy
Oh I just love all the fantasy this series has to offer, dragons, shape shifters, God's, humans, magical people etc. Never a dull moment in my ruined city of Seattle.
Trilogy
I also love trilogies. Perfect amount of story to enjoy while not having to wait forever for it to be finished. However I will miss this world Kira has created along with the amazing characters. The story ended well and I'm happy with how things ended. However the epilogue was killer, I'm so hoping for a spin off series to be announced.
Didn't Like
The series has come to an end, I'm hoping for more spin off series.
Recommendation
A must read for paranormal romance lovers.

Great read! Hearts of Chaos by Kira Brady, the third installment in her debut series, is a novel which lives up to its’ name. The beginning was a tad dawdling, nevertheless it ultimately picked up to a thrilling pace. I loved all the different mythologies this book included, as well as throughout the series as a whole.
Fixed in an alternate Seattle to the one we all know, striding into Brady's Seattle felt gritty and dark, but also innovative and different at the same time. Chaos, action and romance all ensued throughout the world Brady constructed.
The characters in the novel, whether they are Lucia, Corbette, or Kai, are all fantastically created and spread out. They are all thrust into the dark chaos that surrounds their world and ultimately end up battling themselves, each other, and their circumstances.
Hearts of Chaos is an appealing novel from start to finish. With this book, it brings about the conclusion, though with the way things ended there may always be more to come, to Kira Brady's debut novel series and she has done a smashing job with world building. Hearts of Chaos institutes itself on countless levels as a paranormal romance and much, much more.
An Advanced Readers Copy of the book was provided by the published in return for an honest review.

Imitation of life
Darkness, shadows and chaos abounds throughout this trilogy. This theme serves as the landscape for the various shape shifters and immortals traveling between the land of the living and the land of the dead. This series is about the prolonged war between good and evil. It is about misconceptions and ideologies regarding persons in positions of power and leadership. It is about the things we do for love. Hearts of Chaos culminates a parallel journey of life and death as depicted by the free will choices of Emory Corbette, leader of a shape shifting Thunderbird clan and Lady Lacia, prophesied to be his mate.
Corvette and Lacia were introduced in book one. From book one to book three there is a building expectation of their romance; however the consummation of their relationship dims in comparison to that of Grace and Leif's in book two.
Overall this was an ok series but there was too much going on at one time which made it difficult to understand the story. I would have liked to seen more of Kayla and Hart from book one and Grace and Leif from book two in subsequent books. Their roles were too significant in the scheme of things to have been given so little reference in the continuing stories. The epilogue in book three, seventeen years later, creates a door for book four. Seventeen years later, I'm not going there.

This was a DNF at 62%. I was tired of the saga after reading the first two books and while HoC continues the story line in a new way it didn't capture my attention. I wanted to get to the end, but by 40% I started skimming pages to get it over with. I had just invested lots of reading hours reading the first two books and wanted to find out what ultimately and how, but I finally gave up.
Hearts of Chaos continues the story of a dystopian Seattle which has human, Kivati (shifter) and Drekar (dragon shifters). The Drekar goddess Tiamat gets back into this side of the "gate" and wants to rule. Emory and Lucia go to the other side of the gate to get a scepter to foil her plans.
There are two story lines: the one happening in Seattle with Tiamat and the one with Emory and Lucia (where time moves slower). The story line with Tiamat was a snore with her romping in the sheets with Kia trying to get pregnant with a super baby and Kia moaning his fate as a breeding tool trying to recover his honor by helping the home team against Tiamat. The story line with Emory and Lucia is questish and who they meet and how they survive and bond is sort of interesting but it goes on and on. I can see this appealing to readers who liked The LOTR trilogy (not that it's that long and tedious).
I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

Brilliant conclusion to an unforgettable paranormal romance series!
Yes, brilliant writing! I felt I was walking among the mists and myths of a very different Seattle created by Kira Brady. Lucia and Emory are intriguing characters as they develop strength and courage during their story of saving their world and of finding faithful love.
My favorite quote: “Many people recognize the difference between right and wrong, but few are brave enough to act on it.”
If you enjoy steamy, paranormal romance, with intricate world-building and complex characters, you will want to read the Deadglass Trilogy. I’d suggest starting with the Hearts of Fire prequel novella of Alice and Brand, then the story of Kayla and Hart in Hearts of Darkness, followed by Hearts of Shadow featuring Grace and Leif, then ending with Lucia and Emory in the amazing Hearts of Chaos. Each book is a fulfilling romance, but it is interesting to see the development of the alternate Seattle, with the blending of different, enchanting mythologies, as each book unfolds.
FYI: Watch for mention of the Deadglass (spyglass) in Hearts of Chaos….intriguing to discover the last person who possesses the Deadglass…..

4.5 Stars. Have been waiting for this one and it didn't disappoint! Especially at the start - I think my favourite scene was when Corbette couldn't help himself from stepping up and vying for Lucia's hand in the challenge.
Lucia has definitely grown as a character and Corbette is as hot, moody and dark as promised, but overall, Brady's real strength is in excellent world-building. The mythology here is well-researched and I love how it flows onto the page. It's complicated and appeals to my fantasy roots. If you're looking for great world-building, this is the series for you - I think it strongly reminds me of UF in this sense.
My only real disappointment? I have been gunning for Kai and Zetian's romance - it's the one I was most looking forward to and I was really hoping it would be the next book.... and then the epilogue put a major dampener on it. I think this was it, which devastates me, because there is so much more i want to see develop between them! Actually, to be honest, their scenes (such as they were) overtook this book for me and I was flipping pages for more of them, hoping to see how that played out.
Fingers crossed then (:

I think this was it, which devastates me, because there is so much more i want to see develop between them! Actually, to be honest, their scenes (such as they were) overtook this book for me and I was flipping pages for more of them, hoping to see how that played out.
Fingers crossed then (:

General: Just to start with I want to say how much I love this cover. It is stunning and attracted me to the book right away. I loved the blurb and the overall plot was entertaining from start to finish. It had the elements I love in a book but overall I didn't make a connection with it. The writing was beautiful but it was not a story I could lose myself in.
This is another serial book that cannot be read alone and I wasn't aware of that when I picked it. I found myself quite lost at times and it was to the detriment of the book because when I read other reviews on the series it appeared to be a running set of issues throughout. The world building was strong, but overly complex. There were so many times I had to reread certain things to see if I had been paying attention and misunderstood or if my mind had just wandered and the abundance of things occurring in the story. The other issue was lack of character building. For a world so wonderfully setup it seemed lackluster that the characters were not ones I could connect to or even really see the connection between them.

I've been very excited to read this book since reading the first one in the series. I was very intrigued by what I saw of Corbette and Lucia in the previous two books and really wanted their story. Corbette is such a cold bastard. He's not a bad man, just so focused. He expects Lucia to act a certain way and obey him completely. Lucia can't and won't and it looks like their engagement is off. It takes a quest for the two to finally come together - for Corbette to really see Lucia and for Lucia to show her strength.
I've really enjoyed this whole series. It's dark and unique with its mix of mythologies and non-black and white characters. Lucia and Corbette are my favorite, though. I loved Lucia's courage and Corbette's loyalty to his people. I enjoy quest stories and was very happy when I realized Lucia and Corbette were on one. I also really enjoyed Kai's part of this story. He must play the traitor to save his people. And it looks like the conclusion to his part in this story may lead to another story in this world? I hope so.

When I read the synopsis for Hearts of Chaos I was very interested as I love shape-shifters and this title certainly has plenty of those.
This one for me though took me a while to get in to, and at times I had to go back and read a previous chapter to catch on to the story as I was a little confused as there was so many characters.
Once I under stood who everyone was, the story was quite good, it was full of surprises, twist and turns as Lucia and Corbette joined forces to find the sceptre and save their world from evil, and save each other as there feelings grow stronger and become impossible to ignore. The imagination of the writer was fantastic, they come face to face with life threatening situations and huge monsters that keeps the reader on the edge your seat. The conclusion to the story was very nicely done and a followup book is sure to come.
