This one picks up right where Sinful ended with Crew, Rikki, Jules and Stephen…related? That revelation reveals more secrets and how much did their parents know? Lulu’s past continues to haunt her and more of those details are coming to light. Jules is desperately trying to get his life in order.

Napoleon continues to be an absolute delight and his introduction to Masha is…well very funny.

I love how Lulu, Crew and Stephen are getting closer and they share a steamy night together! Jules finally realizes how badly he screwed up with Lulu and he tries to talk to her. Rikki is struggling and Lulu has an opportunity to try and help…but she also is spiraling a little with not one but two unexpected people from her past.

As soon as you think you think you know what is going on another secret is revealed! This one ends on a shocking cliffhanger! I have a few theories on where this is going.
I can’t wait to see how this ends!

Scandalous

Oh my.... what just happened?!!!
Just when you think it's safe to head back to my favorite fictional little coastal area, all heck breaks loose. Lulu's secrets and past are coming out of the woodwork and even more lies and betrayal come out. Every time she thinks she is getting ahead, something jumps out and goes nope. And then we find out just how entwined all their worlds really are. This book kept me on the edge of my seat, and I couldn't put it down

Once again this arthur brings her A game in this 2nd book. From start to finish this book had me turning those pages as it picks up from that shocking cliffhanger and boy does it keep going with all the drama and spicy hotness, and as Lula's secrets and past see's the light of day and there's more lies and betrayals revealed this poor girl can't catch a break. They also realize just how their lives are tangled up together. I tell you this book kept me on the edge of my seat.

I have no idea why I decided to read the second book even when I disliked the first but here we are. I’ll probably stop here now.

While the plot could have been something, the pacing was fast, the writing was messy, and I found it simply ludicrous that it would have made sense for an eighteen-year-old girl forced to live with her father she barely spoke to because it’s part of the rules of her release.

There were too many players in the chessboard that the author placed and there wasn’t enough pacing for each of them. I’ve read way too much why choose romances to actually finally be able to distinguish what’s good for me and what’s not for me. Sadly, this wasn’t for me.

If I were reading this as a person who just discovered a why choose romance, this would have worked. I’m sadly just over with the FMC being the bad girl virgin and the MMCs being the messy, no-relationship type of boys.

It honestly looked like someone was writing this should be in a perspective of college adults, but they all still acted like high schoolers. Well, you can’t fault Lula or Stefan but you certainly can fault Crew and/or Jules.

I wish we picked one problem at a time.

Scandalous was just amazing and I don't want to give anything away as there was so mush going on in this story but let's just say thing's are definitely heating up between Lula and her guys Crew, Stefan and Jules as they get to know eash other abit better but there's still plenty of tension going around and Lula definitely has a lot going on to the point i really felt sorry for her and hope things will turn out ok. I loved how I didn't know what would happen next, and I think Mason and Evan are going to be a real problem when it comes to Lula's happiness, and wow, what an ending. It was so dramatic, and I was actually speechless and never saw that coming, and poor Rikki, he's had a rough time, and now this, i dont miss Trevor but I'm curious to know who did it and I can't wait to read what happens next.

spoilers**************

The guys all find out they are brothers. After having dinner with their mothers it’s confirmed that Eddie Branagh is really Eddie Culter and Jason James. He had two families at the same time and had Jules and Stefan with Arianna and Crew and Rikki with Tilly. The guys all get picked to be on the racing team. Jules gets his bonus and has made Jasmine see reason with money. Now he can be with Lula if only she’ll forgive him. Meanwhile, Crew is dealing with getting a lawyer because the owner of the crashed boat is pressing charges and we later find out it’s Evan. Stefan tells Arianna and Tom he’s not going to Wedt Point if which Tom gets angry and says he’s kicking him out to which Arianna says he can stay, but now Stefan is looking forward to his bonus so he can move out. Crew offered for him to live with him and Rikki. Lula finds herself in trouble as her boyfriend from before that sold drugs with her shows up. Of course he shows up right after Arianna burned all the drugs that Lula was keeping safe for him. He wants 125k from her or he’s going to hurt her step brothers. She tries stealing money and items and gets about 40k worth of stuff, but he says it’s not enough. That he will forgive her debt if she takes this duffel bag and deliver it on an island. It happens to be the same island that the guys have a race on and her parents are celebrating their anniversary on. When she gets there she meets Maura the owner of the islands daughter who went to school with Crew and happened to be friends with Amber the girl who Crew crashed the boat with. Maura introduces her new boyfriend who is Evan. Crew knows who he is but doesn’t know he’s Lula’s stepbrother. She walks off to give the duffel bag to the meet up person, but Evan intervenes and threatens her. Jules overhears and comes to her rescue, but then she gets rid of Jules to make the meet up spot or so she thinks. The bad storm hits while she’s in the boat and capsizes the boat knocking her and the duffel bag overboard. Jules sees her go over and rescues her and takes her to a bungalow on the island. They make up after he explains everything about Jasmine and confesses his love for her, but when they are out looking for a way back to the main island for the race they hear a lot of bangs. Assuming that the hunting had started they keep to the road , but they come to a hut and see too much blood to be a birds. They find Trevor shot, then Maura, and lastly Eddie all dead or dying. Rikki runs up to them covered in blood from helping Trevor and then Stefan and Crew. This is how it ends.

I devoured this in one sitting and I haven't felt this level of angst in a book for a while! I am not usually a fan of a single parent romance but the whole Jules storyline (closely followed by Rikki's subplot) has really elevated this series for me. I am 100% Team Jules and I found some parts of this so hard to read where everyone was believing the absolute worst in him. Jenna is his number one priority and the fact it hasn't been picked up on by anyone else that something is going on just made me really sad for him. Yes, his immaturity shows when he's around Crew (which I don't love) but the fact he has had to deal with Jaz pretty much on his own and particularly with her disgusting actions in this book just broke my heart. I'm hoping for a scene with him and Stefan in the next book where it all comes out as I hated seeing Jules on the outside looking in for so long when even though he is doing the wrong thing, it is for the right reason.

Aside from Jules, I loved the past coming back to haunt most of the characters and the opportunity to flesh out more of the backstory of how these people have crossed over previously. There were some twists I didn't see coming at all and I really enjoyed it. I thought I had Jaz figured out and what her masterplan was too but after that epic finale I am sure of absolutely nothing! The ending of book one floored me but this was a whole other level and I was genuinely stunned. Talk about a hard left turn - I loved it and cannot wait for book three!

My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read

This series has me so stuck... I enjoy it enough to keep reading but I don't love it. At times I don't like it. It's weird... let's unpack a bit.

The characters are young, and I am now old enough to be bothered just enough by it. That being said, they're young but the MMC's seem way more knowledgeable than they should be. Maybe not Crew as he probably has the most experience. But Jules and Stefan, just seem to know more and are capable of more than they should be. That could just be me and my personal experience, but it makes it challenging to get into it during spicy scenes when their actions and their ages don't seem to add up.

There are twists and turns. It's a romance, but also has some suspense and a touch of "who-dunnit" which is awesome. I grew up reading Clue books, so this is right up my alley. But, there's SO much to digest, it makes it really hard to focus on what the heck is going on. We've got 4 people all with their own chaotic crap going on, and it all kind of connects but not really. Plus, there are side characters with big issues and development going on. It just becomes a lot.

It's unexpected, but chaotic and hard to follow. I'm tempted to say maybe even have even more books to really give time to flesh things out and give the reader a chance to digest, but there isn't enough true plot for that. There's a lot of side quests that could fill out another book, but I'm not sure it would work.

So, in the end, I now have this rambling review and still aren't sure how I feel. Is it good? Not really, but I'm enjoying it enough to keep reading it.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐.5
Spice: 🌶️🌶️

Scandalous picks up from where Sinful ended, so it's imperative to read these books in order - and goodness me did Adams continue to bring the drama and the twists!

I enjoyed seeing the continued development between Lula and the boys - Stefan, Crew and Jules - though I feel this book was definitely more focused on building the Lula/Stefan relationship most of all. I feel Jules had a decent growth arc through the story, but something is still rubbing me wrong about his character, and I almost feel Lula was too quick to forgive him. I feel Crew took a bit of a backburner in terms of relationship here, but that limo scene with him, Lula and Stefan? Off the charts hot.

There was a lot going on in this one, from the truth of the boys father, to Mason and Evan, to the twist at the end. I feel it was almost too much happening in such a short space, and I almost found the book to be dragging on in places, too. But that cliffhanger came totally out of left field, and I'm almost confused (and concerned even) about how the rest of the series will pan out - that's how sudden it was, I feel.

If there's one thing that cliffhanger did, it's made me intrigued to see how the next book in the series pans out.

The 2nd book has all the same flaws as the first book and then some.

1. The re-telling of the same details over and over was too much.
2. Conversations or thoughts they’ve clearly already had and/or addressed but then acted like it was the first time later. Do they have intermittent amnesia or something?
3. Rikki’s sudden obsession with Trevor is random and not explained.
4. The drug use, behaviors and withdrawal needed more research.
5. Crew didn’t know if there was food for Naps but just hightailed it out of there and left the poor dog at a party with people drinking. Ok.
6. The rescue - sure, that’d happen like that. Not.
7. Honestly, I just finished the book and I can’t even remember what happened for most of it.

The series would be so much better if the pacing was slowed down a little and everything wasn’t happening all at once. I’m a sucker for good world building and mystery but this is not that. The way all the connection play out are just too cheesy as they are.

Yet, even with all that, I know I’ll start the final book because my OCD and need to see it through will make me. At least, my expectations are firmly in place now.

Scandalous is book two in the Made For Them Trilogy by Melissa Adams.

💜 misunderstood FMC
💜 mysteries
💜 boat racing
💜 forced proximity
💜 🌶🌶🌶 spice

This books picks right up where the last book left off. Crew, Jules, and Stefan are all shocked to realize that they all recognize the man on stage. Not only that , but also realize how each of them are connected to the man. Will they be able to push past differences to try out and make the team? Will they make the team? Will they each be able to earn the money they need? Will Lula be able to stay out of trouble and stay clean? What about her feelings for each of the guys?

This was a good second book. The angst in this book was so so high and didn’t relent throughout the entire book. There are so many twists and turns and new mysteries to solve. This book does end on a cliff hanger and I will be interested in how everything will turn out.

Overall I love the plot of these books so I’m going to keep reading to see what happens. However I just CANT with the writing. First off, Lula getting saved. Her boat tipped over in “3 story tall waves” and Jules jumped into save her in the “pitch black” during a storm and somehow found her in like 5 mins?? Nope just nope. It also bothers me how when the chapters swap POVs they rewind let’s say like 45 mins with tons of internal monologue that we already know about. It’s very repetitive.

If I have to read the words “Stefan doesn’t look like the boy I remembers 3 years ago”; “Lula is the one and only and I’ve loved her for all my life”…. Etc the list goes on and on… one more time I’m gonna loose it.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

𝕊𝕔𝕒𝕟𝕕𝕒𝕝𝕠𝕦𝕤 (Made For Them Book 2)
By Melissa Adams

This is book two in the series Made for Them and has to be read in order. Scandalous picks up from the end of book one. It is a step brothers WhyChoose MFMM no MM inside the group as the guys are brothers.

Lula is sent to live with her dad after getting out of rehab and being on a mandatory year probation under his guidance. Her stepbrothers are also there. They grew up all friends and became step siblings a few years ago when her dad and there mom married. There was already established feelings for Lula and Stefan since they were best friends and she has always had a secret crush on Jules who was older.

Book two brought lots of suspense and choices that Lula needed to make when her past meets her present and she tries to protect the guys. They also all find out that their parents had other secrets that come to light.

We get to see more from Lula and her relationship with Stefan and Crew while Jules tries to make up for his mistakes.

This ends on a cliffhanger that I didn’t expect leaving the guys and Lula with questions. With the hate between Crew and Jules it will be interesting to see how it all plays out. With the two men from her past being in her present how she will get herself out of the trouble she is in and if she will open up to the guys. How Crew and Jules will resolve there legal battles.

Holy plot twist!!!! There is a lot going on in this book and it’s all so good. Each character has their own issues and life complications and it’s all messily beautiful. I like that life isn’t easy for any of them. Makes them relatable. But dang this girl needs a break in life.
As always Melissa Adams has written characters that I love to hate. The villains in this book are written so well that you love the character but hate who they are. If that makes any sense 😅.
The cliffhanger in this book is intense and left me with a serious book hangover. I have so many questions and I am going to just sit here and impatiently wait for the next book.

The plot deepens

Such a great second book, Lula is still teetering on a rocky path, trying her best to keep out of trouble and juggling her complicated love life.
The boys are shocked by starting revelations they’re finding hard to accept.
I love the fact the two ex wives have bonded, got to love that girl power, despite them keeping their kids in the dark.
Love the spice, Lula is lucky but expecting more fireworks as all her guys are like oil and water.
That explosive ending tho, can’t figure out what’s going on there but looking forward to finding out, another amazing read.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Melissa Adams is such a fantastic writer! She always has me at go. We picked up this book right where the cliffhanger made us scream at the reader...lol I love how Melissa weaves her stories! Poor Lula is so deserving of a love that is accepting of her past and let's her become the person she's ment to be...but first we have to have our turmoil and growth, and we get that in spades. I love how everything is intertwined and how everything is working together to come to our. Third and final book...this cliffhanger is even better than the first. I freaking can't wait! Grab this one and hold on. It's an awesome ride!

From last book to this book I am definitely still team Crew! The mom's know more... I know they do.... Jules Ex is a piece of work. Does Jules get her to back off? Just when you think everyone is getting on the same page.... BANG....Don't touch the gun. You have to feel for Lula. I think she just gets caught up in things that are out of her control to an extent. There is an interconnected conspiracy... I feel it... but what is it and who all is involved? We will have to wait for book 3 for all the answered.

Oh my WOW! Where to start?
First of all, how did it get past me that this wasn't a duet but a trilogy? The cliffhanger took me completely by surprise. LOL
Lula is in way above her head and I simply can't wait to find out what the heck is going on. There is character growt and some individuals get what's coming to them for sure, while others continue to cause their fair amount of veil chaos.
If you are into dark suspenceful RH stepbrother romance, this is not just a must-read, but a "you must not miss out" series for sure! I highly recommend.

This was a twisty one! That ending? Craziness! I need to know what's really happening.

I did like book 1, but this is where the story really took off. There was so much going on - relationship growth and drama, schemes, manipulation, revelations, mystery. I enjoyed it all!

It's unusual to have an RH story where the men don't like each other. It's a little awkward for the FMC, though I'm really just curious about how it'll play out.

Can't wait for book 3! There's so much up in the air and I'm intrigued.

The plot twists again

This is the second book in the Made for Them series and it must be read in order. The plot continues to get more complicated and twisty as the story progresses. It is bombshell after bombshell being dropped so it keeps you on your toes. Lula can’t seem to catch a break though. Just when you think she might be getting a leg up the universe smacks her down. There is plenty of taboo spiciness throughout the story. The ending is another major cliffhanger and I have so many questions. Cannot wait for book 3!!

great follow up to book 1!!!

I am obsessed with Melissa Adams Star Cove books!!! She creates wonderful characters, and an engaging storyline that keeps you turning the pages! My heart hurts for Lula, as she went through things that a teenager should not have, and the fact that the adults don’t believe the harassment that she received broke my heart. I love seeing past relationships mend, and I’m enjoying her newest connection with Crew! I love the intrigue that develops in this book and cannot wait to read the third one!!

The start of the book cleared up the last little cliffy and we get some more in depth back story on the boys (Crew is still my favourite MMC but little napoleon will still forever be my favourite non main character). The drama is getting intense as the story progresses and kept me on the edge of my seat from a good halfway point until of COURSE we end in another blasted cliffhanger lol. Waiting on pins for the next instalment.

Book 2 starts exactly where book 1 left off and Lula and the guys work to come to terms with several new revelations. I loved how far some of them have come in their relationships, but others still have a ways to go before I can call them even friendly. There is definitely a lot of drama in this book, and a lot of secrets being kept, but progress has been made! After that cliffhanger, I can’t wait to read what happens next!

Scandalous is book 2 in the Made For Them Series and it does end on a cliffhanger.

It follows on and picks up from where book 1 left us with the boys finding they are brothers.

I love the progression of the characters, relationships and the storyline that they are all brothers with the same dad but with different mothers.
There book ending on another cliffhanger left me wanting to know more. I want the book 3 now.

This book is a part of a series so reading in order is a must. It continues right where Sinful ended and the story is so good from the get go. Like I am so used to now by the way. People from the past show up and that's not good here at all for Lula. The friendship between Stefan and Crew is rising and I love that. Growth lke you see in real life. Well done on that. Now the drama continues and takes it up a notch and I am living for it! 5 star plus from me! A must read series!

Didn’t see that one coming

Still not sure of who exactly Lula will end up with in the final book… this trilogy keeps me guessing! Get ready for some whomping secrets! As the middle book in the trilogy, we’re fed enough to keep our interest, but not enough to tie up any loose ends… we get more loose ends unraveled and more questions we need answers to! Can’t wait to find out how this ends….

This second book in the trilogy is amazing. The secrets being kept by the 4 boy's moms are pull your hair, what the heck, why wait so long to tell secrets. And Lula is falling harder for her guys but danger from the past rears his ugly head. The boys are all trying to deal with major issues and not mess up more. So much is happening and I keep pulling for them to get a break. The bad guys are awful but yet there is so much good in this tale. Hold on to your hat- that cliffhanger is a doozy.
