This was a gentle flowing romance set in the Australian outback. Harry & Meg are the god-parents of Isla, a 10yo girl that has lost her mother, Cassie (and Cassie just happened to be Harry’s lost love) As they sort through learning how to care for Isla, and isla’s feelings of loss- They realise their feelings too. A lovely, short, heartwarming clean read.
What a delightful read. A heartwarming short story of Meg and Harry drawn back together by the death of their best friend, Cassie. Isla is Cassie's 10 year old daughter, and Meg has been charged with looking after her now that her mum is gone. But she can't do it all on her own. So she calls on Harry, her best friend she hasn't seen in 13 years and the man she'd always been in love with. But Harry has always been in love with Cassie- an unrequited love just like Meg's. Now Cassie's gone, and there's Isla to think of. Beautifully capturing the ten year old angst and the Australian way of life. And then there's Digger the dog. I can't wait to see what this author writes next.
A heartwarming story. The little girl lost her mom, the 2 adults lost their old friend, and now they have a 10-year-old girl to take for. They are all trying to figure out how to live.
A quick, heart-warming story set in the Aussie outback where Harry and Meg join forces as god-parents for ten-year-old Isla who lost her mother in an accident. I found Isla came across much older than her ten years in some instances, but in others she was more her age. That aside, it was a cute and enjoyable story. Easy to read in one sitting.
