This is a perfectly servicable cozy mystery. The plot is nicely developed and the characters are reasonably well-developed for the shorter length of the story. Unfortunately, the shorter length is also the problem with the story - we get some abrupt POV shifts in the story that take away from Andy's story and this is where the author's background of being a screenwriter really shows. We get insights and thougths of supporting characters that would have been better to be shown or inferred rather than outright stated. Still, if you're looking for a little holiday mystery that is a quick read, this isn't a bad choice.

Candace known as Andy is a barista. She plans to spend Christmas with her friend who just happens to be RICH, rich, super rich. They met as children at summer camp. While she's there, the friend's mother has a huge diamond stolen. Andy gets accused and has to defend herself.

Oh, and did I mention that Andy's favorite cozy mystery writer is there, too? Working together, they have to find the real culprit.

It's an okay mystery in that it has lots of possible suspects and solid clues. The biggest issues I had with the book were the shortness and the nearly constant shifts in point of view.

Still, if you want a short cozy set at Christmas, this might be for you.
