Все таки перша книга мені сподобалася більше. Тут все занадто солодко-мило- ванільно.
З одного боку, мені сподобалися стосунки головних героїв і ця одержимість Майло, його ставлення до Стерлі, те, як він пилинки з неї здував, піклувався, обожнював і ставився як до кришталевої вази. А з іншого, не вистачило розвитку почуттів зі сторони головного героя. Він закоханий з перших сторінок, тому не було поступової закоханості, усвідомлення почуттів, напруги, хімії. Тому мені не вистачало емоцій в плані стосунків, але сюжетні повороти це компенсували з лихвою. Я частенько охринівала з того, що відбувалося.
Також поганенько описана і розкрита мафія. Ця тема ніби на периферії, і показана лише зі сторони вбивств, але взагалі не зрозуміло, чим займається сім'я Майло, крім того, що вбиває людей.

В цілому, непогано, ця історія сподобається, якщо ви любите милі, солодкі романи з одержимим головним героєм, який готовий спалити світ заради своєї коханої.

My god, what a read. I knew I would absolutely adore Milo, but after I found myself highlighting everything I knew I didn't just adore him. I loved him. So much. He is so adorable. He's so BBG. You can't tell me Sterlie hasn't put pink bows in his hair before. He gives off girl dad vibes. (Miss Falk, please, I need to know someday that they have a girl.) The way he is absolutely encapsulated by Sterlie. He's utterly obsessed with her. (Definitely didn't feel like a jelly bean because I'm not her.) And, Sterlie is relatable as hell. Math can be very, very hard, pink is such a good color, and who doesn't do a little happy dance when they get some good food in their system? She's also an absolute queen. (She's a baddie when she wants/needs to be.)
OMG AND SHOUT OUT TO SOUP. I'm not a dog person but I thought Soup was adorable.

Anyway. Moving onto the actual story.

Yes.
Did I cry at some point because of my poor baby's trauma?
Yes.
Did I get super happy when Milo and Kai were in the same scenes because those two are my boys?
Yes. (Seriously. I loved it so much. I smirked, giggled, twirled my hair whilst kicking my feet. Those two together is a fun, fun time.)

Overall, it is a wonderful read. If you're looking for something with these tropes, do give this book a chance. I loved it, maybe you will too. Just check the content warnings before you read because there are heavy topics included.
Plus, it's a Joelina Falk book, and we love her.

Зазвичай я не читаю книги про мафію, виняток лише Мішель Херд, але дуже сподобались уривки з книги і захотілось почитати, що ж там таке. І це було неймовірно і все через ставлення головного героя до коханої.

Майло - дуже сильний чоловік, який пережив занадто багато лайна в своєму житті, його розповідь на пляжі розбила моє серденько. Але він не став схожим на свою сім'ю, а навпаки був месником для інших. Але найбільше, що мене підкорило - це його кохання до Стерлі. Це було так чуттєво, що аж подих перехоплювало.

Стерлі - промінчик сонця в житті Майло і та дівчина, яка завжди шукає щось позитивне в будь-якій ситуації. А ще вона може любити рожевий колір і бути чуттєвою, але в іншу мить - вбити великих чоловіків, які напали на неї. І хотіти йти штурмом на армію, щоб врятувати свого чоловіка - це теж вона може.

Ця книга для мене була як ковток свіжого повітря! Я не впевнена, що колись прочитаю першу книгу про Флору та Кая, але до цієї історії я точно ще повернусь.

THIS BOOK!! I enjoyed this book so much. NGL I went into this book blindly because I haven't read the first book yet but it was so good. I really enjoyed reading it. Milo and sterlie are the power couple. I really liked sterlie, she's so sweet and kind and strong as well. She knows how to fight for herself. Also Milo was so obsessed with her 🫶🏼 but we don't blame him cause same !!! I loved how he always treated her with so much love and respect. The guy literally asked her consent every single time before touching her.😭
They suffered so much in the past. They're soulmates<3
There are no big plot twists but I loved it all the same

Honestly, this book took me through a lot of surprising scenes. It's so beautiful and cute, and I can't find the right words to describe Milo!Milo!!! He’s the hottest romantic man, the sweetest guy ever. I’m completely swooned by this character.

He's so calm, perfect, and indeed the kindest man, yet he can be ruthless when needed. I love how patient he is and how he slowly falls for Sterlie. I just love every bit of the writing in this book, and the steamy scenes—no words. I'm definitely adding this book to my hardcopy collection in the future.

**Review**

The book is the second in the Tartarus Club series. Although I didn't read the first book, that didn't stop me from enjoying this one. 📚

The story begins with the female protagonist, Sterlie, being robbed. After this incident, she runs to get help, ending up at the Tartarus Club. She lies to enter the club, and the lies she tells the security members had me laughing so hard, I can't even explain. 😂

I don't want to give any more spoilers, but I can say that the book was a good one, easy to read, with fairly long chapters. 🤌🏻

The chemistry between Sterlie and Milo is so good that you will love it! 💖 I highly recommend the book and hope you enjoy it as much as I did! 😊

First I would like to thank Joelina for giving me the wonderful opportunity to read A Taste Of Darkness.

A Taste Of Darkness follows Milo (aka Luca) and Sterlie. From the moment these two laid eyes on each other the spark between them began to glow. Although Sterlie doesn’t remember meeting while she was on holidays years before hand she instantly feels drawn to Milo.

I loved every minute of getting to know Milo and Sterlie. The way they grow together, their wonderful chemistry, I love how Milo was so protective of Sterlie. There were so many swoon worthy moments 🫠. I giggled 🤭 and laughed so much, I was even on the edge of my seat at one point.

I may have gone in blind with this one not reading the first book, but I enjoyed every moment. A Taste Of Darkness has some amazing micro tropes too 🥰. I will be buying a physical copy for my Trophy Shelf.

Yes, yes, and more yes. This book was definitely what I needed! The characters were beyond lovable and the hints of suspense kept me on my toes!

Sterile Adams was just your ordinary girl. No one paid much attention as she was always second to her sister. But one night changes everything. She finds herself in danger and runs into the arms of her sister’s best friend, Milo. They have maybe had two conversations but now she is starting to find out their lives are more intertwined than she thought.

Truth is, Milo has been in love with Sterlie since they were kids but he’s not ready to admit his feelings for fear of her safety. But now being in her proximity has him losing his mind. Secrets are revealed but it just leads to more questions. Milo will stop at nothing to keep Sterlie safe.

Ahhh! This was my first book by Joelina but it won’t be my last! This book had everything you could want and more! We have a morally grey hero who will do anything for the girl, suspense, and spice for days! Easy 5/5 stars for me! 🫶

Ever since reading a taste of light I couldn't wait to read this book, I already knew Milo was gonna be everything and he definitely did not dissapoint.

Milo Marucci is a possessive and caring man, ever since meeting Sterlie for the first time he has been into her. He has always wanted her but never tought he could actually have her. The way he cares for her is so sweet! I WANT myself a MILO MARUCCI.

Sterlie Adams is a sweet and innocent girl, she goes trough some tough stuff and Milo is there to help her and care for her is was honestly the sweetest to see how much he cares. Seeing how she has some trouble with math but still carries trough with what she really wantes is edmiarable. I really liked her character so much sweet and innocent but still tough.

Milo and Sterlie together is just a power couple the way the care for each other is something everyone should want. The story, the characters and the writing were all perfect. I absolutely loved this book and I'm exited to see what is coming next. If you love a good bestfriend's sister mafia romance than you should definitely read this book!

I sat down and ate this up in a couple of days, my god did this book have me totally and completely hooked. This one was intense !!!! I really enjoyed and loved the connections between Sterlie 💗 and Milo 🖤 (to die for. . . literally) The whole strangers to lovers trope really had me addicted just like the good girl bad boy vibes too. AHHHH and the whole HE FELL FIRST. . . melted me !!! I loved watching Sterlie discover who Milo really was and how much she truly meant to him. The entire story was put together so well and I could not stop reading and didn’t want it to end. To see all of the trauma that Milo endured at his family and discover how Sterlie tied into the mix was really astounding to see because the details made it perfect. The one thing that I did predict was the betrayal but I was not disappointed at all with it because the shocking truth that I was not expecting came out shortly after that tied it all beautifully up in a mind blowing bow for me. I loved this book !!!!! Joelina you absolutely killed it with this one 🫶🏼 #teamMILO 😎 He is the perfect bad boy with the softest spot of the woman he loves !!! #YESSSS 💕

Фінал був цікавим, але я до кінця не зрозуміла, чому вона мстилася за свого батька? Вона не знала, що він був гаалтівником і хто, на жаль, виявився його жертвою? Я розумію що то її батько, але ж він був жахливий, невже його донька цього не відчувала, не бачила, нічого не підслуховувала? Що він гвалтував жінок, дітей, свого племінника вкінці кінців. Гаразд, різні люди бувають, але я б хотіла, щоб той паскудник більше мучився😒 але він вмер, то вже добре
І, повертаючись до стилю написання, мені не зайшло, моментами було нуднувато, книга відчувалася ніби рівна, дуже рівна дорога, а я все життя живу в Україні, то рівні дороги то не моя тема😁

This one does not have a big plot twist like A Taste Of Light but it does easier to understand which I love to read tbh.

Sterlie is an absolute sweetheart! I have to admit, her sunshiny and naïve personality was a bit annoying to me at first but I grew attached because she's so bright and happy it's hard not to. Plus she becomes an absolute badass so go Sterlie!
Milo is a golden human and you cannot convince me otherwise. He's obsessed with Sterlie in a healthy way which is RARE and he's respectful which we love. He'd do anything for that woman—even light up Tartarus in her favorite color every night.

The plot was really interesting to me, there were a lot of points where I was shocked and others where I just wanted to read on because the suspense was too much! But it mixed in beautifully with the romance without having one part take up more than the other, so I think it was worth the nail-biting.

This is perfect for anyone looking for a light mafia romance with darker themes (beware of the triggers) but unlike any of the usual books of its genre!

First of all, thank you for the ARC. This book was good, something new compared to other “mafia” books though this one isn’t really a “mafia romance” even though it has some elements.

I loved the characters, I thought they were all cute. The mmc was so different from other “mafia” mmc, it was fresh and good to see this. The fmc was so sweet and adorable, I liked her.

But, I didn’t like her sister. Maybe, it’s because I haven’t read her book and immediately read this one or it maybe won’t change if I read hers. But, I simply thought she wasn’t good at neither giving advice or even defending her sister. It was really annoying to read, so that’s probably the only character I disliked.

Aside from the romance, the story was good as well. I actually hadn’t anticipated this little twist. It was fun to read.

Thank you so much to the author who was kind and thoughtful enough to understand why my review for this arc was so late and gave me enough time for me to read and review it.

This was really, really good, and it doesn't help that I have been waiting for it since a taste of light.

Milo was exactly the way I envisioned him to be and more, and I fell in love with him all over again. Sterlie, however, was lacking depth, but I loved her nonetheless. Plus, the cameos of flora and kai made it even more eventful, and kai finally paid his debt😂.


Jeolina Falk is leaning towards my favourite authors because she knows how to write a good plot. On that note, I really wish she got a better editor because the one that edited this one is out to sabotage this book. There were some notable spelling errors, grammatical errors, and even some characters whose names have different spellings in the book. I am kind of a perfectionist, so these tiny mistakes affect my complete devotion and love for a book. I couldn't rate it 3.5, so I gave it 4 stars.

I really dont like to write bad reviews, and this was just the disclaimer book was good, but i have read better the plot was not much to think about, but the underestimation of the women in the mafia family and then one of them turning out reason for Milo's trouble but there was too much smut in it the second half, i have nothing against it but if only it had something interesting going. I want to rate it a 2.5 but that i cant so its a 3 for me. But if you have gud smuts before dont get your hopes high for this one. As i said before i dont like writing bad reviews but i am sure it help the author (only if she is reading this) and the readers. Thank you very much the pleasure is all mine

A very wholesome read. It was a dark romance, but not the kind that makes you go, ‘Bro, are you okay?’
Both the main characters were really sweet and adorable. They were basically sunshine x sunshine.
I felt like the book could've been better with the addition of side characters, other than the main characters from the previous book. Side characters make the story feel whole.
The ending felt a bit rushed imo. It was kinda wrapped up in like 3-4 chapters. I just... expected it to be a little more dramatic. So, when it happened, I was like, 'So that's it?'

Overall, it was a good read. It won't change your life or anything, but you won't regret it.

I Loved this more than the first one!! ❤️

-mafia romance
- past trauma/abuse
-grumpy sunshine ( jhon wick meets elle woods)
- bff sister
-forced proximity
- protective hero
-lots of pink
-no third act break up
- secret pining

My main issues:

- the length i would have shortened it( i got little bored at the end)
- the sex scenes i would have shortened it( i felt there were too much, felt unnecessary)
- some inconsistencies and some nonsense moments

But in overall i enjoyed this so much😇 i recommend 💯

This boookkkk is sooooooooo awesome ❤️❤️❤️ "Milo Marucci" a strong, mafia, cold hearted for all except for her, "Real Man" in true words, "Sterlie Adams" the sweetheart and caring one who made him fell for her ❤️❤️😭🤌

The way he used to soften his gaze and words for Sterlie was heartwarming, a person who knows how to control his anger in front of the girl he admires is really a dreammm come true❤️🤌

The way she used to observe him being friendly and soft only to her made me cryyyy fr😭❤️❤️ and one thing I can't get over was the "Cuore Mio" 😭❤️

I absolutely loved this book. It made my soul and heart want a relationship like this with someone. I love the nicknames they have for one another. It brought butterflies, and i was kicking my feet the whole time. I did go into this book blindy after reading the first book. I was scared this one wouldn't be as great. To be honest, this is even better than the first one. Milo is such a great character, and it's sad what he went through as a kid. I wish I could have a milo in my life. I even finished in with a day of starting the book it was that amazing.

If you can’t tell I’m actually at a loss for words. I love this book. I like it even more than the last one and that has to mean something.

MISS JOELINA SERVES US AMAZING BOOKS EVERY. DAMN. TIME.
