I’m in love with my stalkers…

When Rafe and Grant came into my life it felt like a fairy tale. Two of Hollywood’s hottest stars noticing me? The writer that was practically a hermit and scared of everyone? The woman that hid away in books and had never been in love? Unreal. I never realized the men I was in awe of shared a deadly secret and wanted to share one more thing—me.

The woman I was before is gone and it’s far too late to get away from my villains. They’re obsessed. Even if I begged, my men would keep me bound to them, and the sick thing is that’s just how I want it.

There’s not a dark, greedy desire or need they won’t satisfy for me, and I’m finding out just how good it feels to take what I want. I fear no one and I’m drowning in the darkness of my men, but there’s someone trying to take what I’ve found away from me. The only safe place for me now is right beside my monsters.

But when you’re in love with monsters, who’s left to protect you?

I write dark hearted romance and love every second of it. Every dark romance I pen is a story I'm dying to tell my wonderful readers. You can expect monsters here, obsessive heroes, and heroines who give right into the dark side and love every second of it. When I’m not writing, I’m probably thinking about writing or on my merry little way to over caffeinated. I hope you enjoy and love the books I write, because writing my books is my dream come true!

eh I didn’t enjoy the stalker plot line in this. I wanted more silly slice of life with the flip side of them also being serial killers and actors. But alas, I did not get that. This was quite gory and still no progression in the relationship beside what we already know

it bothered me how stupid the characters were in this book, but grant calling rafe his boyfriend was everything I didn't know I needed!!!!

It was a good duet!

Solid story - really enjoyed Rafe, Grant & Kit's relationship they had great chemistry ⚗️

I didn't enjoy the skip forward from the 1st book to this one - multiple weeks just gone with a mention or two about what transpired after book ones cliffy. Would have been nice to see the reveal of all that happened.

I KNEW it was going to be her mother, but I was definitely questioning myself since Alexia and Holly were being very odd, so it had me thinking for sure. I'm so glad her mom got what was coming to her..I was worried they were going to have to turn her over and she would just be in jail or something. Overall it was an enjoyable duet but the first book is my favorite!!

Ohhh Holy Sinner really said, “Let me take what the first book did and crank it up to deliciously unhinged,” didn’t it?

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars — My New Favorite of the Two

This sequel grabbed my attention right away and never let go. It jumps right in where the last one left off, but this time there’s a whole extra layer of mystery threaded through the chaos. And honestly? It works so well. The dark humor is sharp, clever, and perfectly timed, making all that trauma hit even harder in the best, most binge-read way.

Darcy Dahlia just nailed the balance in this one—beautiful writing, messy characters, intense vibes, and humor that makes you laugh at things you probably shouldn’t… and enjoy every second. Easily my favorite of the duo. Highly recommend!

Wow, wow, wow! Loved this book was so hard to put down, way better than the first book in my opinion. Great suspense throughout the book and that ending?? Wish I could read it again for the first time! 8/10

It was alright

Something about this book fell flat for me. I was really excited about the second book but I feel like it deviated too much from the first book. We do get a good amount of their relationship but i feel like we dont see alot of development. There were many fade to blacks which is fine(i guess), but between that and the weeks in between the first and second book, it robs us of the dynamic between the three of them.

If the first book ended with the three of them having a good amount of time spent with each other, then the second book goes into this thriller aspect it would’ve been better. Its like bam she finds out their secret, they decide to be with each other, next book, its weeks later and everything is just okay, oh and look, she had a stalker. It makes sense but I feel like there should be a novella in between and after this book to really see their relationship develop, because right now its not giving that.

This was just… boring.

If I tried explaining the plot to someone, it would probably sound interesting - because the premise was promising. But the execution? Completely fell flat.

I don’t even know where to begin, because how do you explain something that had potential but still ended up being so bland? I’ll try to break it down into parts.

Relationships

I already mentioned in my review of the first book that the relationships felt underdeveloped. That issue carried over - and worsened - here. Right up to the final page, I couldn’t feel a real connection between Rafe and the FMC. Strangely, Grant’s side of the throuple felt stronger, probably because his character was better written (more on that later).

Overall, the dynamic between the three just felt off. I didn’t sense any actual chemistry between the FMC and the two male leads. The narrative told me they loved her, but it all felt forced and hollow.

There was a line where the FMC wonders, something along the lines, “What if Grant just decided to love me, and one day he decides not to?” - because he doesn’t really love his family, he only sticks around because they’re good to him. And honestly, that one line summed up the whole romance: it didn’t feel like love. It felt like a choice, and didn't feel like it came naturally from MMCs. More like the "author said so, so it must be true" situation.

Ironically, the only relationship with any real chemistry was between Rafe and Grant. But even that had so much wasted potential. The MLM aspect was shortened to few words overall, and that was poorly written, chaotic, and rushed. Such a shame.

Characters & Personalities

Rafe deserves his own paragraph, because I have never seen a more boring "morally grey" character. His backstory was almost nonexistent. He didn’t even get his own unique trauma - his was lazily tacked on at the end and turned out to be the same one Grant had. His dialogue had zero edge or complexity. Honestly, making him mute might’ve made him more interesting.

Grant started off strong but slowly declined. Still, he had some traits that gave him personality, so he remained at least tolerable.

FMC was just a blank slate. For someone with trauma, achievements, and so many supposed life experiences, she had the depth of a paper towel (I don't consider her dark urges to be anything worth remembering at this stage, because the concept felt flat and in the end was abandoned). At best, she was occasionally annoying - at least that invoked some kind of emotion. But otherwise? She was just there. A passive, personality-less page filler. But hey, at least the MMCs found her pretty. That’s something, I guess.

Plot & Twists

I genuinely think the author was winging it. We all knew who the main villain was from the start and I think the author realised that and was panicking. I can't think of any other explanation for this ridiculous abomination of a plot twist.

Introducing three out of four villains at the very end of the book? It was laughable.

Add to that all the abandoned subplots, and it just felt sloppy. Instead of meaningful development, we got the same scenes over and over again. Oh no, more mysterious photos - let’s move. Another one? Let’s be mad - then move again! Those repetitive chapters could’ve been better spent building the actual relationship between the three leads.

The pacing was all over the place. The story felt rushed from beat to beat with no time to develop anything - relationships, tension, stakes, anything. It’s like the author just wanted to get to the next dramatic moment and skipped all the emotional groundwork in between. It reminds me of maladaptive dreaming where you have to force yourself to not skip to the next best part and actually work up to it. That's what the author should've done.

Smut

How do you mess up smut this badly, especially in a “why choose” romance with a built-in MLM dynamic, two supposedly dominant MMCs, and a darker tone?

It honestly felt like the author was deeply uncomfortable writing these scenes. They were rushed, incomplete, and, to my surprise, super vanilla. If you’re not comfortable writing spice, just don’t. Seriously.

Also, there wasn’t a single proper threesome scene. One MMC would cuddle with the FMC while the other had sex with her - like they were taking polite turns. And hilariously, most of the actual sexual activity between the MMCs seemed to happen while the FMC was asleep. We were only told about it happening, never shown anything meaningful. Pity, because the scraps we did get showed a lot of spicy chemistry.

I’ve read over 100 books so far this year, and I average 220 per year. This is the first book ever (I truly can't remember being in this situation before) that left me feeling nothing. No excitement, no frustration, no emotional investment—just pure, unshakable boredom.

That’s a new kind of bad.

Okay, so I do feel like this one could have been a little shorter...or at least gave us more in the the ending area...the beginning to ending felt a little imbalanced.

Perhaps its my own trauma issues...but man I really wish that the evil in this book was forced to grovel...to truly feel and understand the pain...I know its not realistic because narcissists are incapable...but down wouldn't it be nice?

Overall I adore this duology...even though it made me think about things, and people, that I prefer to keep out of my mind...

It felt like this book needed even more editing than the first one. I enjoyed Kit's chapters less than Rafe's and Grant's because she made me feel worried since she seemed unstable, while Rafe and Grant were sure of themselves. I guess that's effective writing, though.

I skimmed big chunks, like when Kit would get in her own head for a long time, and also when the description of action scenes were really detailed but couldn't keep my interest over just wanting to know what happened quickly.

My favorite parts were when Rafe and Grant would bicker or grouchily call each other their boyfriend! I liked that they ended up loving each other, too.

This was kind of a let down. I REALLY enjoyed book 1, so I was excited to jump into this. But this just felt unnecessarily extra. I liked the small pieces of progression that we got to see within the relationship. But even that seemed toned down, like it wasn’t enough. And the stalker plotline? Stretched out. Boring. Half the book was just filler with the ending being this “plot twist” that was boring and kind of predictable. The saving grace was seeing Grant and Rafe grow as boyfriends. Their scenes together was just adorable.

This was a hell of a ride and I still have no idea wtf just happened…. Like, it was possibly the worst plot (well the plot had decent bones, but the execution was seriously lacking) of a book I’ve ever read? Maybe? But also like I couldn’t put it down? It was so dumb it was good? I seriously don’t even know what to say. The only thing I feel good about is Rafe and Grant calling each other boyfriends.

Don’t read this? But maybe do? Idk… lol

This took a completely different direction from book 1 which I liked. Sweet and domestic moments between the main couple but a thriller storyline to keep everything moving forward. While you can see the “big reveal” coming from a mile away that’s kindof just inevitable unless the author doesn’t write in any hints at all.

2.5 This had the potential to be so good, but it was just okay. very predictable and way too much repetitive inner monolog from the fmc. not as dark as I expected, and I really wish there was more time spent with the development between the mmc's relationship could have been so hot together. Also very insta/love/lust/obsession.

Perfect ending to book 1

Loved how she picked up right where it left off. Everyone who needed to get theirs got theirs. Watching Grant and Rafe come into their own relationship was so perfect.

another 5 star read!

Just like book 1, book two is a 5 star read! I loved the thought behind this book and its plot. It was a great weekend read, and I want to see more from the author!

I like the second book the most of the first one. Grant and Rafe worked with each other instead of against each other. Even tho they have off handed remarks, they played nice with each other. It was cute and fun. I’m glad that the closure of her mother happened the way it did.

What a great conclusion to this duology! I rated this book 4.5 ⭐️’s. It was sooo good!

We really get to see the three main characters relationship in this books, mixed in with suspense. I highly recommend reading this book if you enjoyed god complex. It truly finishes their story.

Villain was obvious and I think the chemistry from the two MMCs was a bit lacking with build up, but the sexy times were hot (wish there were more) and the thriller moments were bone chilling.

3.5 stars. The author took this in a direction i wasn’t expecting, and while the murder mystery was interesting, I really wanted more dark romance and humour like the first book.

That said, it was still very good and this author is officially top of my list for this genre

It was good. Decent plot and storyline to finish their story. However, I liked the first one more than this even though the events in this one were more intense with the whole mother shit.

‘i knew falling in love with monsters was going to be ugly, hadn’t i? it was easy to ignore when the monsters loved me so well.’

this book was a mess, a big, hot, stinking mess. where do i even begin? part of me wants to start with how it’s utterly insane to make up a six month filming schedule for a goddamn romcom, but that would force me to then follow up with all of the other film-related things that were gotten wrong (everything, absolutely EVERYTHING). maybe we’ll skip ahead to the weird murder-mystery plot line that randomly popped up midway thru the story? or maybe the unhinged way kit decided to confront the lead actress in her first major motion picture. or perhaps best of all, the way almost ALL of the smutty moments suddenly became fade-to-black scenes halfway thru for some goddamn reason?????????? HELLO??????

it might be faster to narrow down the things that were done right here, and that could really just be simplified to grant and rafe’s relationship with kit. i like how the concept of these two guys only sharing kit never seemed to cross their minds, and instead they just begrudgingly accepted that they were in a three-way relationship with each other too 😂 for all that they would talk mad shit about each other, grant and rafe had some of the most interesting chemistry i’ve read about in a while. i also enjoyed seeing how devoted they were to kit’s overall happiness and safety, and found their domestic life to be absolutely adorable. but w/o a question, it was grant and rafe’s relationship that kept me going when so much of the rest of this book was so wildly insufferable.
