About the author

Gene A. Getz, (B.A., Rocky Mountain College; M.A., Wheaton College; Ph.D., New York University), a host and teacher of Renewal Radio, served as a professor at Moody Bible Institute and Dallas Theological Seminary. He has authored more than 60 books, including The Measure of a Healthy Church, Elders and Leaders, and the Men of Character series. He has been a church planting pastor in the Dallas metroplex since 1972 and now serves as President of the Center for Church Renewal and Pastor Emeritus of Fellowship Bible Church North in Plano, Texas.

The book of Joshua is one that I have always cherished. There are so many lessons for leadership and godly living illustrated therein. Joshua 1:8 is a favourite verse of mine, albeit so challenging.

This book is a fantastic overview of lessons for godly manhood from the book (and life) of Joshua. I found it so helpful, very challenging and also encouraging.

Oh that as Christian men, in this day and age, that we could strongly and sincerely echo the testimony of Joshua's life: "But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord." (24:15b)

If that is your desire, this book will provide encouragement and challenge to do so.

This is a tremendously fun and accessible Bible study. Well informed, well organized, and well written. I plan to read the whole series and use it with the men's group at our church. This is the study that I have been looking for!
