"Remember when you pinkie promised you'd help me bury a body? Is that offer still good?"

TWILIGHT meets JENNIFER'S BODY in this bite-sized sapphic vampire romance full of sweetness, snark, gore, and only one motel bed.

Queen bee Honey Williams and burnout Sadie Greer haven't spoken since middle school, when a huge fight ended their lifelong friendship and sent the girls down wildly different paths.

All of this changes when Honey turns up at 3am to ask Sadie to help her bury a body and kill the indie band that turned her into a vampire.

It's the tail end of summer vacation. They've got the band's tour dates, a full tank of gas and two weeks before senior year starts.

But Honey's newfound hunger is insatiable, and the road trip gets even gorier than they anticipated. Despite all the bloody motel rooms and near-misses with murder, Sadie and Honey grow reluctantly close for the first time since they were kids.

But every road ends, and Honey's bloodlust isn't the only thing threatening to destroy their healing friendship…

I liked Honey and Sadie and the slightly ridiculous nature of the story. I liked that it started with something of a bang too.

It’s quirky, for sure. I don’t know how I can call a story sweet, yet it has some gruesome and gory scenes, but it’s sweet.

The story obviously has the essence of Jennifer’s Body (which my baby gay heart really loved) but Honeybloods has a far better storyline, I reckon.

It’s light with dark undertones with regard to characters and scenes…and I’m here for it.

P.S. I love how the story is set in America but the author probably overlooked the term “chemist” for the American word for pharmacy. It made me snicker a bit.

I LOVED this novella! I’ve been in a reading slump since November and this book is what pulled me out of it. I loved Sadie and honey so much! The whole time I was picturing Jennifer’s body and my sapphic heart was so full! Definitely a good read and I hope to see more of honey and Sadie in the future 🩷 5 ⭐️ 10/10

I recently read a pretty heavy book and needed something a bit softer to read. I scrolled through KU when I found this one.

It’s described as “Jennifer’s Body meets Twilight” and after reading it, it definitely rings true.

Two ex best friends are brought back together after one of them is accidentally turned into a vampire. After the newly turned vamp decides she wants revenge, they decide to go on a murder trip.

Along the journey they rediscover their friendship but not before hashing it out over how their friendship ended. After running in to sing problems along the way, they finally meet up with the band that’s responsible for the “death” of Honey.

It’s sweet. It’s quirky. It’s gory. It’s gruesome.
(Weird using al 4 of those words to describe the same book!)

A lot happens in this short book of 176 pages but it keeps you on your toes, constantly wondering what’s going to happen next.

I’ve already started book two (there’s 3 books total), and I’m excited to see where their journey goes.

Such a good concept but poorly done. Started and finished during a three hour sit in Las Vegas, it could’ve been so much longer

If you like Jennifer’s Body, fan fiction, and wish Jennifer was a vampire instead of a succubus, this is for you.

But can I say something controversial yet extremely brave? I don’t really care for fan fic 😬 I don’t know, I just never got into it.

Anyway, I thought this was just fine, I sometimes felt it was trying too hard to be funny. Not the best sapphic vampire novel(la), not the worst (Hungerstone 👀). If you need a quick, cute read, go for it.

Thank you to the author for this incredible ARC in exchange for an honest review... 4/5 stars for Honeybloods! I am honored and grateful to have been an ARC reader for IS Belle a second time around... These books fill my soul.

Note: I hate the vast majority of vampire media that I have read, but I had a feeling this would an exception, and I'm so glad I was right.

Things I loved: At the beginning of the book when Honey goes to Sadie and tells her it's time to cash in on that blood oath, Sadie dives in the deep end with no hesitation. Find a friend who will help you bury a body. This is a theme in I S Belle books- this is an author who knows what it means to ride or die. These friendships/romances are always "yes, absolutely, no questions asked" kinds of friendships and I love love love that. I also love the pacing, and the fact that we got to see Frankie, Milly, and Ivy outside of Bulldeen (none of this takes place there) and older. There are always Easter eggs from other books and that's just fun. I adored the ending! It didn't go where I thought it would, but I liked how it ended! I think it could make for a lot of interesting future storylines with Honey and Sadie.

The one thing I wasn't fond of: there were a lot of pop culture references, Gilmore Girls was mentioned a ton. (Kim Kardashian was mentioned once lol) Sometimes when there are so many mentions of something pertaining to this particular realm that we live in, it takes me out of the book. That's probably a me problem and something I need to get past. I just felt like it caused some disconnect, that's all.

Other than my one little qualm with the book, I thought it was fantastic! I had a blast reading it because once again, a home run from I. S Belle.

(2.5 ✨) well this was definitely something- felt like most of the plot was just reading about how hungry Honey was and her eating over and over- not sure what people are on about of this book was soooo gory no it wasn’t and when she called her spider monkey I did cringe and not in a good way
The world confused me honey and Sadie just seemed like completely okay with being vampires now like not only learning they exist but actually being one too
Basically I only rounded it up because it was sapphic but if im honest this isn’t a romance novella there was only little tension 80% way through the book. Might round it down actually now I think about it I think I’m being too nice ahaha
I just didn’t vibe with this and I thought I would because hello sapphic Halloween romance yes please but this didn’t hit for me

'"Remember when you pinkie promised you'd help me bury a body? Is that offer still good?"'

tw: graphic gore, animal death, extreme violence

Honestly... I was kind of disappointed with this one, which is so heartbreaking because it's literally sapphic vampires?! 😭

I think the gore and the gruesome descriptions really threw me off and I found myself having to put this down a few times because it was just a bit too much for me! As for the characters, I really really liked Sadie but I found Honey kind of annoying LOL, I still don't understand why she was angry at Sadie when it was literally *her* friends that pushed Sadie away?!

Story wise, I had a few laughs here and there but I found the plot a little confusing on the whole 😭

1.5 stars!

dude this was so cute??? and also gory?? and heartbreaking?? and so nostalgic for a lost friendship wasted on the fear of too big feelings that after made you avoid feeling anything at all so you wouldn't have to face them???

honey and sadie are so wonderfully teens! messy and sometimes mean and scared and alive (ish). the story ended at the perfect time even though i could read like a thousand pages of them. so good!

easy to read, extremely corny parts and clichés

ex best friends, loser and popular girl, only one bed 👍👍

had potential, some story elements like the superpowers or new side characters could’ve been explored more

still the tension was there and I appreciate that the romance didn’t feel rushed and will be continued throughout the next part

too bad I won‘t be reading part 2,
the teaser/ summary didn’t catch my interest as much

I really REALLLY liked the text font (the most)!!

If you enjoyed Jennifer’s body and/or twilight (but add in some gore) this one is for you.

While Honey & Sadie are on their journey for revenge we get an intimate look into their childhood friendship & the fallout. I thought this really added depth to the characters while giving us an inside look of them both.

I guess they were right. Sandbox love never dies.

I can’t wait to see what the pair get up to in the second one!

I ended up really liking this short book. The ending to me was really unexpected and definitely makes me want to read the next book in the series. My only complaint would be the lack of romance. The two main characters obviously have a thing for each other but the romance wasn't really there until maybe the end, and even that wasn't much. Hopefully I'm pleasantly surprised in the next one!

I really enjoyed this 🖤 it was a very cute story with a bit of violence and gore 😌 my only complaint is that even as short as this book is the author felt the need to really repeat things about the two characters and I’m like… duh. I got it.
Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a cutesy/funny but also kind of gory/horror vibe 😊

I wish I could have a fun time with this, but I just don't like their banter at all and I find Honey to be quite insufferable. I was interested in finding out how this story ends, but unfortunately I'm not that interested. DNF at 46%

This book's genre isn't the one I would normally go for, but it paid off! It was full of murder, gore, friendship, music and vampires! I'm going to continue with this series to see what happens next with our two cuties!

[2.75 stars!!] i love the book cover sm !! i cannot get enough of lesbian vampires. the buzz was there, but it could’ve been more. i was looking for more, like how it would differ from jennifer’s body bc it literally is just like jennifer’s body… but anw i wish this was executed more properly but honey and sadie are so cute <3 sandbox love never dies, indeed (i will not be reading the next installment though).

3.8✨

Yes to the sapphic-ness, yes to the vampire, to the adventure, to the gore, to the Twilight references. It’s somehow so cozy and so insanely gory. My fave things. I did not 100% realize this was YA, that’s on me. And even after accepting that, I just struggle so hard to suspend my disbelief that parents would be fine ¿¿ that they have been gone for days? Weeks? But then I think about what I was doing when I was 17 and I’m like yeah, it probably checks out (I date a boy in a band 😅). I also don’t fully understand their falling out and the argument, but I think I’m just tired and need to go to bed lol.

It was good and I’ll definitely read the second book. I love vampires and paranormal romance so I’m locked in.

Thank you to author for this ARC in exchange of a review!

This novella was an intense one. It’s perfect if you’re a little sapphic myself wishing you saw yourself in those vampire media we grew up with in the 00s and kept insisting on Jennifer and Needy crushing on each other. Honey is crazy and it’s definitely far from a healthy relationship and it was what made this story so fun, how messed up it could get at times.

However, I wish it’d been a little longer. I know it’s a novella but somethings were just put there and I couldn’t understand where they came from or what they were for, I had some “wait what are we doing rn” moments where I felt like supernatural elements or the environment could be explained better, maybe adding or removing a thing or two to make things clearer. Regardless, it was such a fun read!
