This book was awful. Truly, spectacularly awful. There is no affection expressed between the MMC and the FMC. Their first encounter is dub-con with an unhealthy side dish of revenge porn, and then the FMC is kidnapped and repeatedly, brutally raped by the OM. At no point was this a shifter romance; more like a shifter nightmare novel. I am truly shocked by this story because I really enjoyed Hall's "Alpha's Regret." All in all: Do. Not. Read.
I really liked this one but the alpha is kind of a dumb ass. There is only so much you can do with trying not to fuck up but fucking up shit anyway. He seems like he gets better then he dose something stupid.
So... there are TW and I thought I knew but I'm gonna admit that the cutesy book cover kind of made me brush them off because they can't be THAT bad. They. Are.
I'll just give my own romance TW:
Rape by MMC (the minute he recorded her and used it as revenge porn without her consent, that violated any "dubcon" as that is reprehensible behavior)
Rape by OM after her father and mate betrayed her trust. Cool, cool, cool... so I guess that's what the author means by "noncon" but it was brutal and explicit and WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED IF ANYONE TRULY CARED FOR THIS GIRL.
Does the MMC (I refuse to call him a Hero) deserve a 2nd chance? 🤣🤣🤣 let's just say I won't be reading their 2nd book unless she becomes an assassin and murders his loser ass.

When I say I devoured this I devoured it within the hour. I absolutely hate hate hate double hate Axton. He just like any other Alpha nothing interesting or new about him same old Alpha just a different toilet.
Lena has been through h-e double hockey sticks, and that putting it mildly. All she’s ever wanted was the title she was born to have but little by little that hope dwindled, proving that all men are liars and thieves for taking what didn’t belong to him. Rejecting her gates mate for the sake of her title, begin abducted by someone she thought she knew but didn’t, losing her home, her family and her best friend.
I’m just waiting for Lena to take back everything that rightfully belongs to her.
I’ve always been a huge fan of Jessica Hall’s books and the darkness their plots contain. This one had me captivated from page 1 wondering when things would get better for our FMC. While her situation throughout the entire book seems hopeless- I love that she is able to forge her own path. I love the love stories between alpha’s and the FMC but truthfully they can become ‘stockholmy’ so I really enjoyed how the FMC and MMC did not end up together (what I assume is yet) and hope that the MMC can earn her love and not just get it because of their bond in book 2.

Book one of two. I read this through, but was disappointed that book two requires purchase for $8.88. I guess I'm spoiled by Kindle unlimited, but I really doubt I would want to read this one again, so no purchasing for me. Anyway the first book is definitely different from the run of the mill rejected wolf mate story. The main male characters have absolutely no redeeming possibility. If you're looking for an alpha who will anger you at every step, this is it. No amount of groveling will make up for his actions, so I am ok with not continuing.
Quick, easy, enjoyable read. The book was pretty good, beware the beginning had some pretty graphic scenes that I had to skim over. Overall the storyline was pretty good with some funny moments. I feel like Axton is purposefully being obtuse in his treatment of Elena. He has his moments where you think maybe he’s starting to see past the bullshit and act somewhat decent and then he resorts right back to being an ass again. Hoping book two sees him switch that up.
There are triggers, so know your limits, but the back and forth between the main couple, and their wolves, is hilarious. Lots of action, surprising character revelations, and drama. There’s also heartbreak and chaos. It continues in the next book (hated that) but I’m going to keep reading. I really need to know what will happen to the Lupha 😂🤣
The book was good. I just can't connect to the characters. I find Elena and Axton relationship annoying. Like is there any love left for both their egos. It is kinda all over the place. It doesn't have a slow burn and the plot is dragging on. Well see if things get better in book 2.
So much happened in this book. You can not help but love and root for Elena. She is such a strong character, and she overcomes where most would break. Love Axton, too. For all his flaws, his stubbornness being top on that list, he does have some redeeming qualities that take a while but shine through.
Storyline similar to another one of the authors books. But it kept me reading, every spare moment I had! I love that it’s encouraging women to not be afraid to stand up for themselves, what they are truely worth and deserve happiness as a choice
This book was great. It had a great storyline, and was very steamy. Often it’s either one or the other. So to find both in the same book made me very happy. This is the finger but the second book is out so I won’t have to wait. 🔥🔥🔥🔥/5
At first ai was not sure about this book. And suddenly I was at the end of the book. In 1 day! I just cant but the book down! Really enjoyed the story. Cant wait the next book.
ok this guy is a real jerk so I would have done the same thing she did I would have run far and wide to get away from him I liked this book ok I would read it again and I am reading the 2nd one now I will read more from mrs hall in the future.
The story not only was captivating but kept me on the edge of my seat. The characters draw you into their lives and grab ahold. It’s is a page turning adrenaline rush of the literary fantasy. Definitely loved the world and the storytelling.
Really good book Read in 2 days Amazing storyline. Great main characters who go through trials and tribulations, break up and make up. Female lead goes through some trauma - trigger warning of abuse (not from mate) Good amount of spice 100% recommend
DROPPED. If shifter romances were ever made into an eye-rolling Spanish Soap Opera? This would be it. I couldn't stomach the silliness of the plot or the characters making every bad cringey decision.
I love this author. I have read several of her collections and I am just so glad I stumbled across her writings. They make me laugh. They make me cry. You just never want to stop reading.
DNF on the first 5 chapters… I really like a good Alpha story but this one was not good, at all. No score, cause I tend to only score when I actually read the whole book, but this one I couldn’t suffer through it.
I could not put this book down. I felt so many emotions reading it and loved every minute. There was so many twists and turns it was extremely well written.
Jessica Hall has done it once again and made an addicting book. It is just so good and I love the way she ends them. I couldn’t have clicked so fast for the second one.
