Frankie Flips the Script

Rate this book
Frankie Holloway has always dreamed of being a screenwriter. In the meantime, she’s happy filing call sheets and folding napkin cranes on set as part of an all-female production company. But when the writer on their next project pulls out only days before production is scheduled to start and her regency-era screenplay is the perfect back-up plan, she’s thrilled that this can finally be her big break- if she can get over the fact that notoriously arrogant Fletcher Gates has been cast to play the leading man.

Fletcher Gates has fully accepted that he’s been deemed a ‘Hollywood Heartthrob’ by the tabloids, despite the fact that his last relationship lasted years. But taking a last minute job as the lead role on location in a small village in the English countryside for a few weeks might be the perfect way to refocus on his passion for acting and keep his personal life out of the spotlight- if only there weren’t an overly-eager and impossibly cheerful production assistant on his case the entire time.

When their first impression is a disaster and the second is just as awkward, they do their best to avoid each other. But the village is small, and the film set is even smaller- and thanks to one drunken night and a leaky cottage roof they begin to see just how wrong their first impressions may have been. As feelings develop, Frankie can’t help but wonder if whatever this thing is between them is on a timeline- or, more specifically, a production schedule.

Chelsea is a Canadian romance author who has based most of her personality and stories on what she learned from 2000's rom-coms in her teen years. She loves stories with relatable characters, humor, found family, and leading men who aren't afraid to stand on a coffee cart and confess their love the way Seth Cohen did circa 2004.
