Stone Sister #2

Rejecting Fate

Rate this book
Emerald Stone is the second eldest of the five Stone Sisters. Emmy excels in thinking one step ahead of her opponents, which has earned her a place as the top strategist at Running River Pack. Fed up with being second-choice, Emmy decides to put her dreams first. That plan is ruined when Emmy is, once again, asked to help her family ally with another pack. Emmy must work alongside an arrogant Alpha, who has awakened desires and dreams that Emmy never thought possible.

Alpha Vincenzo is the closed-off, but caring, Alpha of the Forza Pack. With a dark past, he has accepted that he is destined for a life alone- filling his evenings with meaningless one-night stands. After all, he is cursed, and won't risk hurting anyone else. That is until Emerald Stone comes to forge an alliance with his pack. She gives him hope for a future he never believed was possible.

A relentless enemy from the Stone sister's past continues to threaten their lives, forcing Emmy to make the most difficult decision. But does make the wrong move?

The second book in the Stone Sister series, Rejecting Fate, is a slow burn yet very steamy wolf shifter romance written by J.N. Stein. Right from the first page, I found myself pulled right into the lives of the Running River and Forza Pack members feeling invested in each and every character.

This is Emerald (Emmy) Stone’s story.

After a plague purges all fated couples many years past, Emmy’s sister Daya finds herself fated to Darius, Alpha of the Running River pack. When Forza Pack attacks, Running River Pack figures out that is just a ploy to pit them against one another to weaken them. When Forza Pack realizes they were tricked into attacking, Alpha Darius offers to send his strategists Emmy and Lucas to help him plan a defense, and hopefully form an alliance. Having made plans of her own that didn’t include a trip to help another Pack, Emmy dreads the trip with Lucas. Will she end up helping Forza Pack or will she finally take her destiny into her own hands?

Similar to the first book in this series, this story had me running through all emotions. From happy, sad, angry and annoyed, Stein had me so hooked on this book, I could barely put it down. The twists kept me hoping for a happy ending, the villain had me grumbling and the attention to detail had me imagining so vividly it was like I was watching the movie. While the second book in the series, it was so well written you could easily read it on its own. I highly recommend this and any books from this new and upcoming author J.N. Stein.

I cannot get enough of the Stone Sisters and all of their stories. This one follows Emmy and Vincenzo in his pack. Emmy is there to help find The Underground and things get a lot more complicated the longer she is there. Emmy is so selfless and sacrifices so much for her family. Vincenzo has been through so much and is guarded and afraid of letting anyone in. There’s fated mates, lots of action, badass female characters and lots of lots of spice!!

Book two of the Stone Sisters did not disappoint. I don't know what JN Stein puts in her books, but I could not put it down.

In Fearing Fate, we got little snippets of Emmy's personality and the dynamic of the Stone Sisters. When Emmy spoke about her past relationship, I was intrigued and excited to learn more about the "strategist" Stone Sister.

Emmy was beautifully written. I found her character to be very relateable in regard to her insecurities and her inner monologue. And to see her grow as a character and to see her learn love herself was everything.

Vincenzo character was misunderstood. He built large walls around his heart due to past tragedies. He did not want to risk his heart or anyone else's lives.

I loved their dynamic. Emmy felt as if no one saw her, but Vincenzo saw Emmy. He looked past her own defenses and fake smiles. Emmy and Vincenzo brought the best out of each other, and I loved every minute of being a part of it.

The tension between Vincenzo and Emmy had me blushing and giggling. This was a slow burn, but once you hit the spice, "Sir."🥵

Be prepared for an emotional and action pack ride. The plot was beautiful, the pacing, world building, and character development and depth were great.

I can't wait for Saph's story.

Amazing continuation of the Stone Sisters Saga

This is Book #2 in the slow burn, paranormal romance Stone Sisters saga. The author continued building a complex world in this book as we were introduced to Alpha Vincenzo and his sister Vivian and the Forza pack. Vin and Emmy shine in this book with a unique chemistry and compelling love story that's oh so spicy. Highly recommend. Can't wait to reas Saph's story next.

I thought the first book in the series was a great read, but then the second one came in to be an even better read! Loved Emmys story and how relateable of a character she could be. Her love and sacrifice for her family and mate were very admirable. ❣️ The book is a bit on the longer side but it never felt that way. Time flies when you’re reading a phenomenal book! Absolutely recommend checking out this series! 💚

@j.n.stein you’ve won me over for Werewolf paranormal romances! This book had me 🤭 so much. I love Emmy and Vincenzo so much!

Tropes:
🌕Fated Mates
🌖Forced proximity
🌗Both “unworthy” of love
🌘”Yes, Sir” 🌶️
🌑Touch her and ☠️
🌙Possessive Love

This book follows Emmy’s journey as she goes to the Forza pack to help eval threats from the Underground with Lucas. This book’s pacing is so well done with all of the action packed into this book. It has a major theme of self sacrifice for the greater good throughout the book.

Might update with a full synopsis later.

OMG! You absolutely need to read this book! It has all that you would wish in a book—supernatural creatures like werewolves, a strong female main character, and sisterhood 👯‍♀️

I've been a fan of supernatural stories for as long as I can remember, whether it's vampires, witches, werewolves, or any other mystical beings. This is the second book in the series and, even though I loved the first one, the author somehow outdid herself! 🌌

The main characters, Emmy (Emerald) and Enzo (Vincenzo), are such a compatible pair. The story is full of heartbreak. Enzo has been hurt so many times that he pushes people away, while Emmy is a calm and collected sister amongst the five who is used to thinking about herself before others. 💪🏼

Emmy and Enzo were fated to be together. The ups and downs broke my heart, but their love was meant to be. 😌

I also appreciated how the author introduced and developed the side characters, just like in Book 1. I’ve read Book 3 as well, and I can't wait to share my favorite of the three in my next review. Can’t wait for Book 4! 🤩

Two tormented souls unknowingly seeking the same thing... To be loved!
Vincenzo thinks he is cursed and everyone who gets to be with him dies...
Emmerland just takes one heartbreak after another as she is no man's first choice.
Fate brings them together only for logic to tear them apart when Emmy decides to sacrifice their bond for the greater good.
How will they defeat Bram -the bad guy-, who wants a piece of Emmy and has a strong hold on her?
Read to find out...
A great storyline with enough cliffhangers and intense emotions.
By the way, the petname Vin gave to Emmy -my Topolina- and the way he thinks and speaks to her are swooning...
Excellent job JNS.
I highly recommend Rejecting Fate to any werewolf romance reader!

Emerald Stone ( Emmy) is the second eldest of five stone sisters. She's the top strategist of the Running River pack. She is Calm, Calculative & Curvy Female. She was heartbroken by always being everyone's second choice.

Alpha Vincenzo is the Strong, Arrogant , Closed- off but Caring Alpha of Forza pack. He believed that he is cursed to live alone as he had lost many people he chose to be with or who were close to him.

Emmy & Vin both were alone & wanted to be loved but they were insecure from their past experiences. Fate brings them together when Emmy came to his pack to forge alliance & help him with strategies against the threat looming over their packs. Both felt pull & attracted towards each other but trying to fight it off as not to get hurt but can't resist each other's & gave into their desires. First Vin pushed Emmy away then Emmy has to sacrifice their bond to protect their loved ones. The road to their HEA was not smooth they have to go through many obstacle in their journey and to fight their inner insecurities as well as outer threats but they found their ways to each other. They found the love & Bond they never thought was possible but they always needed that.

The Alpha Italian Stallion Vincenzo 🔥 & his Topolina 🐁 Emmy won my heart and I loved the side stories of other characters in this book.

Now I am excited to read Saph's book Choosing Fate.

I went back and forth between giving this book a four and a five because I really enjoyed this book. I settled on a 4.5. This is the second book in the Stone Sister series and I am really hooked on this series. Each book focuses on a different sister but it is a continuing story through both books so far. I find myself wanting to read more and more because I really want to get more from each sister’s point of view.

I think that I enjoyed this book even more than the first one. While the first book centered around Daya (the oldest sister), this one focused on Emmy, the next sister in age. But these two sister couldn’t be more different. While Daya is a loud, opinionated, amazing warrior, Emmy is more cerebral. She is curvier and self conscious of her body. She’s been hurt and is more timid than her sister. But she is not weaker. She is a fantastic strategist and just as impactful to any pack she is with.

Alpha Vincenzo is the perfect complement to Emmy and reading their interactions with each other kept me fully engaged in the story. The continuing story from the first book had me engaged and wanting to fly through the book. Like the first book, this one is long, but I didn’t feel like it was dragging at any point. I am excited to continue this series and see where the story goes. I am all in on the Stone sisters and would recommend the series to anyone.

I liked book one, Fearing Fate, but I LOVED this book which is book two in the Stone Sister series. It was fantastic!

Emerald, Emmy, is a pack strategist. She is beautiful, curvy, quiet and smart. She is so relatable. When she finally gets the courage to approach her crush, she is rejected and realizes that she needs to make a change in her life and do something for herself. She decides to apply for law school and plans to leave the pack to pursue her life goals…but…life has other plans in store.

Alpha Vincenzo lost his love, who was going to be his chosen mate, and alpha in the same tragic accident, making him the new alpha of the pack. His life has been a series of heartbreaks and turmoil. Now he’s alpha, he stays aways from deep romantic relationships and only indulges in one night stands. When a quiet yet stunning female is sent to him to help with his pack, he doesn't know what to do with her but she interests him and a game of cat and mouse begins.

The tension between Emmy and Vincenzo is absolutely delicious. I enjoyed their banter and looked forward to whenever they were in the same vicinity as each other. I craved their interactions.

This book will take you for a rollercoaster ride. One that you won't want to get off. There are twists and turns, moments that will break your heart and moments that will make you grin! So. So. So. Good.

Check this book out!

Rejecting Fate is the second book in the Stone Sister series by J.N. Stein. I thoroughly enjoyed book one of this series but 100% fell in love with Vencinzo & Emmy’s story.

If you’re looking for an alpha male who will make your knees weak it’s going to be Vencinzo. With his cute nickname for our FMC and dominating tendencies he had me fangirling multiple times.

Emmy is a curvy, plus-sized FMC and unsure of herself due to previous circumstances. This character resonated with me more than the sister in the first book. A lot of Emmy’s social insecurities are my own so I feel like that had a lot to do with it.

The plot itself in these books is intriguing and will keep you invested. The stakes rise higher and higher and more paranormal beings slip onto the action as well. I am so excited to read book three when it’s ready. I highly recommend checking this series out.

This is the second book in the Stone Sisters Series and it was quite a ride! The story centers around Emerald Stone, the strategist, and Alpha Vincenzo who relocated his family from Italy.

The attraction between Vin and Emmy is undeniable. The character development for both is wonderful and their story is filled with passion and heartbreak. Vin believes he is cursed and can never have a happily ever after. Emmy will do anything for her loved ones, including denying herself happiness.

I don’t want to give away any spoilers, so you’re going to have to dive in and take the journey yourself. It’s worth it!

This time we were following Emmy (Emerald) and Vincenzo's story.

This one had four POVs to it as it overlapped with Jack and Viviana (Vincenzo's sister).

I connected with Emmy's character immediately in this story as I was very much like her when I was younger. Her personality plus not being the typical beauty standard when described had me eating up every detail from her POV and when others were interacting with her.

This book does a wonderful job of continuing the story of The Underground from the first book while taking us to a new pack, Vincenzo's pack. With the concept of Fated mate being back into the picture, JN Stein does a beautiful job of making sure that you can feel the hope and distrust surrounding this new information that is just barely getting out from Daya and Darius's pack.

I am enjoying routing for these five sisters as the storyline continues to unravel.

This is book 2 of the series, but I can read standalone, but I would recommend reading book 1 first.

Book 2 is just as good as book 1! Between the plot, romance, and characters, I just couldn't pit it down!

Enchanting! Amazing! Wow!

This is book two of the Stone Sisters Series.

Vincenzo is honest and I appreciate that. He has had a lot of heartbreak in his love life and he believes he is cursed. He doesn't want to take a chance on being with anyone long term, so he embraces being a playboy alpha. However, after meeting Emerald (Emmy), he feels she is different to him and thinks about wanting more. But again he doesn't want to curse anyone else in his life, so he does a bit of hot and cold with Emmy. I get why he does it and he is honest about why he is like this, but it still doesn't forgive being so hot and cold.

Emmy is used to putting other peoples concerns about her own. She is the logical and practical sister. Due to this, she is used to being the runner up. Never anyone's first choice and made to feel she needs to be in the background, she finally decides to put herself first, but then a crisis occurs and she is needed to visit another pack. She is truly self-sacrificing and you see this multiple times throughout the book.

Together Vincenzo and Emmy are stronger together. He sees every aspect about her that no one else sees. He doesn't ignore or overlook her. I truly loved seeing them together. I felt they brought out the best of each other when they allowed themselves to be fully together.

Beware there is a sub plot where you will need tissues for. No spoilers, but I truly feel you will cry.

I can't wait for the next book in the series to see what is going to happen to the next Stone sister.

Book 2 of the Stone Sister Series is Emerald (Emmy) and Vincenzo’s story. Emmy is the second oldest and the most overlooked Stone sister. My heart broke for what she has been through, and I cheered for her throughout this story for her HEA. Emmy will do anything to keep her sisters and those she loves safe. Even if it means doing the unthinkable.

The day Emmy packs up to leave her sisters to pursue her dream is the day she is sent to aid in strategizing with the Forza Pack when it comes with dealing with the rogue pack terrorizing the territory.

Vincenzo is an Alpha with a broken heart and has believes he is cursed by the Moon Goddess. He had three attempts at a chosen mate and each woman met with a tragic accident. He now firmly believes in the love and leave them lifestyle. He believed that would continue even after meeting his match in Emmy.

Once again, this author delivers a story that hooks you from the first page. It full of action, fated mates, emotions, and swoon worthy smexy times. I am hooked on these characters; the sisters, their friends and the new pack that was introduced. I know I will be devouring the next one when it is released.

This was a wonderful book, it’s as good as the first one maybe even better. I was pulled in from the very start. There is so much tension, action, twist and turns. The plot is great the characters are so well developed.

This book follows Emmy and her journey to be seen as she goes to help out the Forza pack with security as they are facing threats from the Underground.

Emmy is relatable, strong, and selfless but she has insecurities she felt invisible and always a second choice, but Vin sees her.

Vin is a strong, alpha who’s not willing to let the guard down around his heart as he believes he has been cursed, but Emmy is here to change that all.

This is a slow burn but when it burns it’s scorching hot. 🥵

First up if you have any triggers make sure that you read the list of them.

JN Stein did it again. this is such a great book. Vin couldn’t ever see himself with anyone. He is cursed in every having a mate. So he has resigned himself to only having one night stands.

Emerald doesn’t believe in fated mates after the great plague. Also she has a duty to bring down the underground. But how. There are so many twists and turns in this story ,but what a story. It is just the start of great things.

Rejecting Fate is book two in the Stone Sisters Series. This is Emmy’s story. This book has it all, fated mates and chosen mates, edge of your seat action, and it also takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. My heart broke for Emmy so many times while reading. I loved this book, and I can’t wait to read more of this series!

As always be mindful of trigger warnings, what I like you may not.
