The second book in the Stone Sister series, Rejecting Fate, is a slow burn yet very steamy wolf shifter romance written by J.N. Stein. Right from the first page, I found myself pulled right into the lives of the Running River and Forza Pack members feeling invested in each and every character.
This is Emerald (Emmy) Stone’s story.
After a plague purges all fated couples many years past, Emmy’s sister Daya finds herself fated to Darius, Alpha of the Running River pack. When Forza Pack attacks, Running River Pack figures out that is just a ploy to pit them against one another to weaken them. When Forza Pack realizes they were tricked into attacking, Alpha Darius offers to send his strategists Emmy and Lucas to help him plan a defense, and hopefully form an alliance. Having made plans of her own that didn’t include a trip to help another Pack, Emmy dreads the trip with Lucas. Will she end up helping Forza Pack or will she finally take her destiny into her own hands?
Similar to the first book in this series, this story had me running through all emotions. From happy, sad, angry and annoyed, Stein had me so hooked on this book, I could barely put it down. The twists kept me hoping for a happy ending, the villain had me grumbling and the attention to detail had me imagining so vividly it was like I was watching the movie. While the second book in the series, it was so well written you could easily read it on its own. I highly recommend this and any books from this new and upcoming author J.N. Stein.
