He’s her client. She’s his weakness. One request, and he’ll give her anything she desires.
For Simone, the only thing she cares about is looking out for the people she loves, maintaining a great reputation as a massage therapist, and building a family with the only man she’s ever been with. But when she overhears her longtime boyfriend talking about wanting a hall pass, she’s furious, and what starts as a one-sided request soon becomes the opportunity she never knew she needed.
Legend is all about his music and making an even bigger name for himself as a solo artist. But after announcing his plans to leave the music group that he’s been a part of since he was a teenager, he becomes a target for someone desperate to see his downfall. Determined to maintain his peace, Legend turns to the person who can help alleviate his stress. Not only is Simone his massage therapist, but she’s his friend, and the one woman he wants but can’t have. That is...until she accidentally mentions her boyfriend wanting a one-time fling with someone else.
See what happens when Simone makes Legend an offer he can’t refuse. Rules will be set, and every one of them will be broken. But when all is said and done, will their steamy encounter force Simone to become just as weak for Legend as he is for her? Or will their actions serve them with consequences that make it impossible for them to be anything more than what they’ve always been?
This book was good. I didn’t think I’d like a book about a hall pass but she slayed this! Wiz irritated me! How you ask for a hall pass and as soon as she agrees that you both get one, you get mad then the audacity to break up with her cause she did what yall agreed to and he wanna keep being it cheating. He deserved to beat up honestly. But Simone irritated me too when she backed away from Legend for no reason. She act like she had to know who did it to move on and I guess she needed the closure. I think that this book is a def read for anyone. It had spice, a touch of sweetness and all the protectiveness.
First off.. Wiz was a complete and utter fool for thinking he could have a Hall Pass. I was appalled by his thinking most of this story. He was not a wiz in his thoughts. I honestly don't see how he kept Simone for ten plus years. When a character gets on my nerves this deeply, I am satisfied with the story. I like to get inside a story and feel the foolishness. Then it's ever so sweet when the real couple takes their turn. Simone and Legend made my heart swell. It was clearly a great connection between them from the first kiss. The backstory with the singers and the slight drama between Legend and Teddy fields the storyline. The other member of the group was too funny, as Kendrick added the comic relief. Simone's sister's drama was another twist on the story. The parts I enjoyed mostly involved Legend and Simone in the zone, because they vibed very well. Wiz did not stand a chance after the hall pass idea backfired.
What do you do when your boyfriend for the past ten years asks for a hall pass? Simone was against having a hall pass until her sisters and Legend convinced her she should do it. Simone bxtchass ex had another thing coming if he thought he was the only one getting something new. Legend and Simone had a great friendship. This was a cute friend to lovers story. I’m glad the sister finally saw her husband for the piece of shxt he was. I’m glad he finally got caught with his nasty ass. I’m glad Simone was finally able to get her happily ever after.
PS her bxtchass ex should have been sued for revenge porn
Another good book from A.C. Taylor. I love how Legend gave Simone exactly what she needed, and when she needed it. I enjoyed reading their relationship blossom from friends to lovers.
P.S. I suspected Wiz from the beginning. If you know you know 😉❤️
Simone was just as dumb as Riah they both let men walk all over them and then complained about it. Revenge porn is a serious crime and Wiz should have been charged for it on top of hacking her cameras. Poor Nitra she did not deserve what happened and the events that took place afterwards, Riah was really trash for her behavior. Legend was definitely book Bae with the patience of a saint to deal with Simone.
I absolutely love this story. I was happy for Legend and Simone. I love her courage and strength and the ability to stand up for what's right even against family. I love how he protects and respects her always. It's amazing how men think a hall pass is good idea but only if they get to do it. When both parties do, now it's a problem when she gets to play too. Don't dish out what you can't take is a very valuable lesson and her ex definitely learns that lesson, rightfully so. This story has a lot of fun and drama and it pulled me right on in. I love her mom and sisters and his grandma. I definitely recommend this story.
How long is too long to be in a relationship that is no longer progressing? Simone and Wiz been together for 10 years true first loves and the only thing fueling their relationship is history. Would you allow a “hall pass” to revive the relationship? This storyline intrigued me, I needed to see how this was going to play out. I was not shocked and clutched my pearls at the audacity. This was a great “discovery” book. Simone found out that she had be settling for far too long. Legend did exactly what he was supposed to do with the opportunity to be the next man up!
Whew I love Legend and Simone! That man stood on business about his woman and I love every bit of it. I’ve been reading AC Taylor’s work for the past week and everything has been so good! She has definitely become a top favorite of mine! I can’t wait to read more of her work
Wiz was trash! Owen was trash! Riga was semi trash! For a second I actually thought she was the guilty party because she was doing her sister dirty!
I love Simone! She’s my kind of strong FMC! She stood in what she believed even if it meant she had to stand against her flesh and blood but big daddy Legend was always standing with her! I love him! The word of the day with his grandmother was so precious! There was just enough drama, friends to lovers, strong MCs. I really enjoyed it.
Legend is a musician, breaking free of his childhood group after years together. Simone is his massage therapist he's been crushing on since they were teens. When Simone's long-term relationship is on the rocks and she gets a "hall pass" to experience someone else for the first time, Legend wants to be that someone. But he doesn't want to let go, and he's hoping she won't either.
This story was a great one, from beginning to end. There was some drama, but it was timed and layered, and served to give the characters depth. The things happening in the background added to the nuance, and drove our love interests together, which means the vehicle worked in the right way. I loved Simone and Legend's chemistry, they way they couldn't get enough of one another, the way they protected each other. Legend was determined to show Simone what real love looked like, and though hesitant, she knew Legend was different.
I knew her ex was on bullshit, lol. From the first suggestion--nothing he did surprised me, but I was glad to have Simone see the light. Her sister was cringey at the beginning, my goodness. I'm glad she turned it around. Legend's background noise with his bandmates served to give him the complexity of a man on the verge of a new life, while the old one nips at his heels. I loved the way he stood on business and was determined to show his growth, but could also remind you where he came from. Great story.
The storyline was realistic and refreshing in the sense that there was not some big secret that one of the people were refusing to tell the other that ends up being a big blowout based off of assumptions. The conversations between the characters were real conversations, especially the conversations between the sisters. This was a really good book. I finished it in one day.
Mrs. Taylor, one thing is for sure, and two things for certain I can depend on you to bring the drama with plenty of plot twists in your masterpieces. There was so much craziness happening throughout the pages between Riah and Owen, Legend and Teddy, as well as Eden and Teddy. Simone and Wiz started the chain reaction of drama, and everyone else was intertwined in it as their story unfolded. I honestly feel like Wiz just strung Simone along for years. She could have been with her soulmate Legend and started building their empire as one. Wiz knew that he did not want the life that Simone had envisioned for them. However, instead of him being a man about it and telling her he gets angry once she moves on. The irony is that he started the ball rolling by wanting a hall pass, but the result of that pushed Simone into the arms of the man who truly loved her. Legend was that dude, and he knew how to cater and treat his lady. He made sure that Simone had all of her needs and wants met. In hindsight, Legend was also dealing with a jealous group member who was causing all kinds of rifts in his life and career. And I was appalled at Owen, Riah's husband he was living a reckless life. The entitlement he developed from being a football player was a dangerous one. He hurt and embarrassed his wife multiple times. However, through all the unnecessary stress, Legend and Simone realized they were made for each other.
This is one of those reads that keep you on the edge of the seat with all of the turns in the plot. The flow of the book is magnificent, and you can easily follow along with what is going on. You experience some of it all in this book, from messy blogs to arguments. So, grab or download your copy today. You will be highly intrigued.
First off, this was the perfect title for this book. Legend was definitely down for whatever Simone was and whatever she wanted. I loved these two together and how their relationship started off as friends. Wiz did Simone a favor bringing up taking a pass even though he was still trash. Simone and Legend were made for each other and they made it through all the crazy drama that surrounded them. These two kept a smile on my face and had me rooting from them from the beginning.
I also loved the bond between the sisters even though Riah was acting a little dumb, but I’m glad she apologized. And Nori told Simone exactly what she needed to hear when she was having doubts. I also enjoyed the banter between Legend and his grandmother. You could feel the love through this book whether it was between Legend and Simone or Simone and her mother and sisters or a Legend with his grandmother. The only thing that may have made this book better could have been an epilogue giving a glimpse into Legend and Simone’s happily ever after, but even without that, this book was so good and I would highly recommend it.
This book jumps straight into the drama. Simone overhears her boyfriend joking with his friends about wanting a hall pass, and that moment alone flips her entire world upside down—so much so that it causes her to have an accident. That’s how heavy it hit.
After sitting with it, Simone eventually agrees to the hall pass, trying to move forward and wrap her head around what he brought to the table. But here’s where it gets wild—her boyfriend suddenly changes his mind, decides he doesn’t want the hall pass anymore, and instead wants to break up.
Too late.
Simone has already cashed in her hall pass, and now he’s mad. And that’s when the real drama kicks off. Emotions are everywhere, egos are bruised, and decisions start spiraling fast. The story does a good job showing how one careless conversation can snowball into full-blown chaos.
This book is messy, dramatic, and full of “wait… WHAT?” moments. If you like relationship drama that escalates quickly and keeps you entertained, this one will definitely hold your attention. 😏 Was Simone wrong for using the hall pass… or was her boyfriend mad because things didn’t go how he planned? 👀
This book was truly a breath of fresh air. I love the friends to lovers dynamic so much. This story was lighthearted and sweet for the most part and it touched on certain topics that need to be discussed broadly in the real world. My least favorite characters in this book were Riah, Owen and Wiz for obvious reason but he Riah was terrible and there isn’t anything wrong with supporting your man but let’s not be delusional girl. I feel like how she came at Simone was not ok because you know that man is no good yet still. One of my favorite characters in the book was Miss Regina she was neutral and supportive. Legend and Simone were perfect for each other to me from the first chapter even the concern he displayed for her when he heard about accident showed me that he was in to her even though he didn’t make a move on her. Overall this story was beautifully written and executed. Easily five stars A.C. you never disappoint.
Whatever, wherever, whenever - or whatever Maxwell sang is what Legend is down with when it comes to Simone. He’s been waiting on her forever while she’s been stuck in puppy love with a boy but the puppy is now a full grown dog and the boy man wants to go sniff other butts while she sits and waits on hers. No, no baby! Simone’s light bulb went from off, to dim, to finally bright as labored through his request. She realized that this is an equal opportunity pass that she too could use and Legend was more than ready to receive her - cause he’s a real man! Talk about a full awakening! Legend truly embodies his name in actions and deeds, the puppy dog had no chance of competing. Some outside situations with other characters happen that kept the drama and emotions high through out the book. All I had to say was “yassss Simone do you boo!” Great read!
Ok, so what is up with this hall pass with attainable people? In my day (God, I sound old), the hall passes were for your highly unattainable celebrity crush who if you ever got the chance to bang you better go for it! I don't understand this new stuff where you just go out and get laid. Just doesn't seem like it will ever end well...as we see in this book, LOL.
This is the second book in a week that have had this theme and wouldn't you know it, it doesn't end well for the couple.
Needless to say, I am glad it didn't end well for this particular couple. The guy was a complete knobhead and didn't deserve Simone. Legend on the other hand...well. YES PLEASE!
This was a very cute friends to lovers romance at the end of it all and everything worked out the way it should have but old boy ex was on some really crazy stuff because his own shenanigans were used against him...typical!
Star level: 4.5 Spice level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Tropes: friends to lovers, family drama, hall pass, high school sweethearts, drama drama I ate this book right up! It was straight to the point and I still wanted more! A.C Taylor is becoming one of my favorite authors she never disappoints me. Wiz is straight up trash and not worthy of my girl Simone whatsoever. Why in the world do you want a hall pass in the first place!?!? If it’s an issue you talk it out not try to go off and find someone to sleep with. Then he has the nerves to be mad at Simone. Then that sister of hers 🙃 talk about family drama why would you stick up for a man you know is wrong. But enough about them. The way Legend came in and swept Simone off her feet and was willing to be patient with her. They were all about each other no one could come between them including the crazy antics Wiz tried to pull.
The characters in this story played their roles perfectly. Two people I think I would have personally slapped would be Riah and Owen. One because there was no way she had to be the gullible, once a cheater always a cheater. The fact that she questioned whether or not someone was being assaulted and yet she worked for her sister is what made me mad. She wasn’t doing it for the money before but yet she questioned because she knew her husband was lying, she in this case wanted to be wrong for change. Owen is a dogggggg. I hate his every being. I liked how Teddy admitted that he needed help after a while and Wiz ticked me off too but the way he ticked me off was unimaginable.
Overall, I loved this book to the point the review has me talking like this. This is my first book from the author but, it will not be my last.
This is my second read by this author, but by far my favorite. Overall it was good story and definitely kept my interest. It had some good pacing, character/ relationship development. Everyone got what they deserved for the most part. Although some things felt rushed to a happy ending. Like Eden and Teddy. Even the Nitra/ Owen thing left some gaps, like where did the evidence come from. I definitely finished this with a few “what was the point of that moments”? For example: the DNA test. Why enter that into the storyline? Or Nori being so desperate for a man…enters Twan and then no more mention of him!
I’m on Whatever You On is a tale of FAFO. Simone’s ridiculous boyfriend of 10 years wants a hall pass. And like most idiots in this situation, he doesn’t consider how he will feel if she uses the hall pass. He also doesn’t consider that she’s besties with an ole, “Mr. Steal Yo Girl” type dude named Legend. I’m not sure how though because a guy named Legend that is the lead singer of an R&B group and is your girl’s massage client and bestie should be considered a relationship threat and have you on alert. But thankfully F-boy Whiz (the ex) is stupid so we get a cute, sexy love story and a HEA.
Legend had feelings for Simone for a long time and I think she had feelings for him as well mainly because she was way closer to him than Kendrick or Teddy. I think Simone should’ve pressed charges on Wiz for revenge porn but at least Legend did handle him. Riah deserved way better than Owen and I’m glad that the truth finally came out. I hope we get follow up books about Nori and Riah finding love as well and finding out what Legend and Simone are having.
The story line was very good and the character development was done so well. The spice could have been a little better because there was a lot of fade to black moments. Wiz was a trash ass narcissist and Owen was a rapist smh. Riah was pissing me off being delusional throughout the story.
I loved how Legend did not play about Simone. He was so protective and respectful to her.
I would recommend and look forward to reading more from this author! 💖
I loved the flow of this book. The author kept me engaged, never allowing a stale moment. Wiz’s complete and blatant disregard for Simone’s feelings and desires throughout the book was offset beautifully by Legend’s attentiveness and sheer lust. Oh and I definitely appreciate the author for the way she portrayed the female characters. They weren’t weak or overbearing. They may have had moments of weakness (which we all have) but rose to the occasion when the opportunity presented itself.
Here is my short list of people that needed they ass beat: Riah…on sight, Owen…without question, and Wiz…cause duh. And honestly Riah probably pissed me off the most cause ain’t no way you that desperate to be married but I digress. I enjoyed the book a lot though it kind of just seemed like we were maintaining relationships with POS because of family or longevity of friendships…I mean Kendrick was almost just as toxic as Teddy was and made multiple weirdo comments and Riah 😐….yeah but over all I enjoyed it
Yeah Wiz lost his mind thought it was cool until shoe was on the other feet that's so he could cheat and got mad because she actually did the hall pass lol 🤣🤣🤣 stop playing we can do whatever you on !!!!!
Simone sis Riha was real dumb even when she said she knew in heart it was real but supported his BS like they say a man only gonna do what you allow...
