Getting on that flight was a huge mistake. Maybe we should’ve waited until Christmas before going on a vacation.

At least then we might’ve made it to Chicago.

Yeah, we. That’s me and my ex-boyfriend, who are now stranded on Frost Mountain.

I lost him after our plane crashed.

And, yeah, there is something worse…

There’s no way off this snowy mountain—I’m stuck here.

Forever.

That’s what the smoldering bear shifter who rescued me said.

This grumpy man wanted me to pretend to be engaged with him for a night.

I can barely stand him, but I could use some warmth and shelter.

Too bad we’re snowed in.

If I don’t get out of this cabin soon, I’m going to lose my mind this Christmas.

Or, worse, give in to this temptation.

Author's note: This is a steamy stand alone romance intended for mature audiences. It is part of the HOLIDAY SHIFTERS OF FROST MOUNTAIN series. You can expect to see your favorite characters overlap throughout the books.

Lisa Daniels is a (young) retired school teacher who resides in Miami. After five years of teaching, Lisa Daniels found that it wasn’t quite the world that she wanted to inhabit. After leaving her position, she moved to Miami. She hasn’t regretted it.

In her worlds, Lisa Daniels creates characters that go beyond the usual narrative. While they definitively include romance, Lisa Daniels strives to make the worlds more real with characters that are more than just cardboard cutouts of the genre. All of the main characters (and many of the secondary ones) have a rich history that span much longer than the stories themselves. This makes it easy to weave the stories together so that you can see characters you met in previous tales and see how they have managed since.

The Dragons of Letera is her first standalone series. Letera is a world teaming with romance, action, and stories – it is a world that Lisa Daniels loves to explore with her readers, one character at a time.

Emily and Sebastian’s Story . . .

Bear shifter Emily Davis was on a flight with her human ex-boyfriend Kenneth O’Hara who was continuing to have fun by annoying her over getting them cheaper seats in the plane to save money, despite what she had asked him to do. She should never have given him another chance at a relationship. He never tried to change his old ways, constantly getting texts and calls late at night from various women “clients”. But even after they had broken up, she never told anyone, figuring it was not their business. Everyone still thought they were a couple. So this trip to spend Christmas in Chicago with his family was the final chance to fix the relationship or give up. And she still has many doubts that this will work out.

Unfortunately, the plane has been experiencing turbulence which worsened. The plane eventually crashed, but Emily found herself stranded in another dimension on Frost Mountain! There will be no way to return from this mountain of snow. In her wandering, she meets a grumpy bear shifter named Sebastian Harris who offers help in return for her pretending to be his fiancée so his visiting family will stop pressuring him. Nothing is ever simple, but could this be the start of something that both of them need in their lives? Could they find happiness together?

Emily is a bear shifter who is in an on/off again relationship with her boyfriend. She had caught her boyfriend cheating multiple times but he has convinced her to give him a chance. This Christmas her boyfriend Kenneth is taking her to meet his family. She gave him money to buy tickets for business class and was annoyed when he bought tickets in the back of the plane. He explained that it was safer to ride in the back of the plane. Later in the flight there was a horrible accident and the plane lost its wing. Emily survives the crash but seems to be the only living survivor but she can't find Kenneth's body. She is near the top of the mountain and spends the next two weeks trying to find her way down off the mountain. Finally she runs into grumpy Sebastian. He isn't very helpful until he proposes a deal. She will pretend to be his fiancee for the night and he says he will take her down the mountain the next day.

Sebastian lives on Frost Mountain which is a supernatural prison that is not part of the United States. There is no way off the mountain. the only way they get new people on the mountain is when a plane accidently hits the portal and crashes on the mountain. Sebastian likes his privacy but he is being pressured by his mom to find someone to be with. To make her happy during the last visit, he lied and told her that he has a betrothed and that she might meet her at Christmas. Now it is Christmas and he might have to admit that he lied. Then he stumbles across Emily. He is annoyed that she has disturbed his solitude. She wants to to leave the mountain but he knows that there is no escape. He decides to make a deal. He will bring her home and feed her. He wants her to pretend to be his betrothed for the evening. He tells her in return that he will take her down the mountain even though he knows he can't. The problem is that the one night turns into longer when they are snowed in.

Some Christmases are cozy, some are chaotic, and some—like Emily’s—are downright magical. A Bear Grump Christmas by Lisa Daniels is a heartwarming, swoon-worthy holiday romance that blends humor, steam, and a touch of the supernatural, perfect for anyone who loves their romance with a side of snow and mischief.

Emily Davis boards a plane hoping for a last chance with her ex, Kenneth, only to have fate (and a seriously turbulent flight) throw her into Frost Mountain—a snowy, magical world with no way back. Alone, cold, and uncertain, she eventually encounters Sebastian, a grumpy, brooding bear shifter with secrets of his own. His deal is simple: pretend to be his fiancée for the evening so he can appease his visiting family, and he’ll help her… though leaving the mountain is anything but guaranteed.

What follows is a delicious slow-burn romance. Emily’s fiery personality clashes and sparks with Sebastian’s gruff exterior, creating tension, laughter, and unexpected tenderness. As the snow piles up outside the cabin, their connection deepens, revealing vulnerability, trust, and longing neither expected. Emily’s journey isn’t just about survival—it’s about discovering what she truly needs in love, courage, and herself.

Daniels masterfully blends humor, holiday charm, and emotional depth. The Frost Mountain setting feels alive and magical, and the tension between Emily and Sebastian keeps you hooked page after page. While the romance starts with pretense, it blossoms into something heartfelt and real, making their eventual connection feel satisfying and earned.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A Bear Grump Christmas is a winter wonderland of romance, humor, and second chances—a perfect holiday escape for readers who love grumpy alphas, spirited heroines, and snowbound sparks that won’t quit.

A BEAR GRUMP CHRISTMAS is the third installment in the Holiday Shifters of Frost Mountain Series by Lisa Daniels and Scarlett Stone. This is another entertaining story that draws you in from the beginning. Get ready for drama and slow growing romance with mild HEA.

Emily is flying to Chicago when her plane crashes into a snowy mountain. She wakes up unhurt, but all alone. Trying to make it down the mountain for help she is saved from a plunge into icy water by a smoldering hot man. When she asks for help to get to the bottom of the mountain, Sebastian counters with a proposition - he'll help her if she pretends to be engaged to him for one night. Not enthused, but needing some warmth and shelter, Emily agrees.

But when his family arrives for their annyal dinner get snowed in. It'll be days or longer before anyone can travel. Oh, this will not be fun. Being a grumpy, solitary person Sebastian just wants everyone to leave. Emily can't stand the grumpy man and his dysfunctional family. If she doesn't get out of the cabin soon, she's going to lose my mind.

This is an enjoyable holiday paranormal romance.

Emily Davis is on the flight with her ex-bf, Kenneth. They are going to his home to meet his parents. He was supposed to get them into seats in the next section, but he went cheap and she is upset, because those seats were double the ones they were in. Christmas is Emily’s favorite time of the year. The turbulence of the flight gets really bad and the masks come out of the ceiling before the craft breaks up and they in another dimension, (we learned this in bk1) on Frost Mountain. For two weeks, Emily has wandered looking for a way off of the mountain to get help. Emily is a bear shifter, and Sebastian saves her and they make a deal. He too is a bear shifter. He is extremely grumpy and bossy. I wanted to cry once I found out why he is the way he is. His mom and sister and brother come to visit for Christmas. I loved them. All I gotta say is “BOYS!”

What was pretend becomes facts and it is an emotional roller coaster ride. From funny, to worrisome, to omg, to what__?! To romantic to steamy to awesome. I can’t wait to read the next book.

Emily (h) and her boyfriend, Kenneth, are on their way to his parents for Thanksgiving when a midflight disaster sees them plummeting towards a snowy mountain, where she awakens alive but alone. She struggles to survive on her own for two weeks, in part due to her tough grizzly shifter nature. Polar bear shifter Sebastian (H) finds her and offers to help her leave the mountain if she poses as his fake betrothed to appease his mother who wants him to find a mate. He knows that she’ll never be able to leave the endless dimension of Frost Mountain, but he manages to rationalize his actions to himself. Sebastian’s mother and sister arrive at his home, and they seem to believe the relationship between Emily and Sebastian. But eventually Sebastian’s lies will come out they’ll have to come clean about what they want. Love these different stories of passengers on Flight 18 who’ve found themselves trapped on Frost Mountain. Though I think this was my favorite so far. The romance took a while to build, and the heat was a little light, but Emily and Sebastian are just starting the beginnings of their romantic relationship.

I like this series. Each story is unique. All with a HEA/HFN vibe.
I think I would have liked a more complete conclusion to the story. Questions I have are, how are the mom and sister going to trust what they see and hear when they return to the cabin. What or who took the figurine. Was it Tommy? Where is her ex ?
I liked Emily. She has been dealt a raw deal when it comes to men. This is evident on the first couple chapters of the book. But she wants to believe and trust.
Sebastian also has had a rough life with his father and him not understanding Sebastian. What he did to drive him away was heartbreaking. But he prevailed. I love how they met and the banter and chemistry between them.
This is a perfect story to read in an afternoon next to a fireplace with a hot beverage.

Chilly connections

The set-up was really interesting and I would definitely like to read more in this series. Unfortunately this couple didn't really work for me. Sebastian is a very high level grump and Emily is kind of a doormat. So in that since they are pretty good together. But they don't seem to have any connection. They have more open conversations with Sebastian's sister than the do with each other.

Their forced proximity time consists of him hiding out in his room and her mopping around about her old life (understandable). There wasn't a lick of romance until the last couple chapters.

There's also some inconsistency with how cold affects them and being a shifter only bearly (hah) comes into play despite times where it would seem useful.

My favorite part was the backstory, it was interesting and heartbreaking, and the unusual setting.

This Christmas is different for Sebastian as he gets Emily to pose as his betrothed. Sebastian is a loner, closed off himself of from everyone. Not wanting to disappoint his mother, he lied about a fiancé when she pushed him to find someone. He meets Emily wondering in the snow and has her help him deceive his mother. Emily was plane wrecked on Frost mountain, her on again off again boyfriend missing from the crash. She agrees yo help Sebastian but she didn't expect to fall for thr grumpy grinch of a bear in shifter.
Grumpy-sunshine, wonderful characters, steamy, little bit of a tear jerker, famiky drama, and finding love. I loved this story.

to Grinch or not

A Bear Grump Christmas is book three in the series Holiday Shifters of Frost Mountain by authors Lisa Daniels & Scarlett Stone. So firstly I want to say - I don’t have any idea how this happened but apparently I skipped book three and moved right on to book four. So now I’m making up for it- thank goodness this series of books are fasted paced reads.
Ok, so a plane crash- MFC ends up on a mountain in the freezing cold. But there is more she’s on the plane with her ex- get smart sweetie. He’s an ex for a reason. Anywho, she comes across the MMC and he has an agenda. Quick pro quo. So to speak. He’s a grumpy thing- and she’s just sassy enough to stand up to him. One things leads to another and well….. I’ll let you read the book for yourselves.
Enjoy!!

Well it's now 2 weeks after the plane crashes into another dimension and Emily has been trying to get down the mountain by herself when she comes across grumpy Sebastian. He agrees to help her if she helps get his mom and sis off his back. They get snowed in after another storm and well you know. I have been enjoying this series as it has a bit of everything for everyone to enjoy and I love that the author has moved the story along in time, that is very interesting. I can't wait to see where this goes next!.

A Bear Grump Christmas is a short and spicy, grumpy-sunshine, Christmas-themed, bear shifter romance. When Emily, a grizzly Bear shifter, ends up in a plane crash, she is stranded on a mountain. She meets a hunky, grumpy polar Bear shifter, Sebastián and asks for help. He agrees if she will agree to be his fake fiancée for a day. But she ends up snowed in with the grump and his visiting family. But what is he hiding? And what happens when real feelings develop? The couple had good chemistry, and we got a happy ending after some drama.

If you've read the other books in this series, you know a plane going from Vegas to Chicago will crash into another dimension where there is no escape. I really liked Emily. She's been betrayed yet still has hope for something else. Sebastian has had a difficult life growing up. It is hard for him to open up. I enjoyed the interactions between the two of them. Add family expectations to the mix and there is a lot for Sebastian to deal with. I do wish there was an epilogue after the initial HEA.

Emily is on vacation with hwr ex to try to rekindle their relationship. The plane crashes in an alternate dimension. She wanders around trying to find her ex boyfriend d when she stumblesnon Sebastian. He agrees to help her if she poses as his fiance to get his mom off his back. They get close and develop feelings for each. It helps that they are both bear shifters so she doesn't have to hide her identity anymore. This is part of a series but doesn't have to be read in order.

Grizzly bear shifter Emily regained consciousness after her plane to Chicago crashed into a snow-covered mountain that shouldn't have been there. After walking downhill for two weeks, Emily meets Sebastian, a grumpy polar bear shifter, and she agrees to be his fiancé so he can get his family off his back. This quick read is full of romance and steam, ending is a HEA. Very highly recommended.

Sebastian and Emily’s story has them meeting after her plane crashed and she had been searching for her ex for 15 days. She ends up helping him in return for his help but he was not telling her the truth. There is no way off the mountain. But doesn’t matter they fall for each other.

A Bear Grump Christmas (Holiday Shifters of Frost Mountain)

This story starts out with a heartbreak, then leads you right into a Christmas Miracle. Frost Mountain has a reputation in the captive shifter population, leading into romance. It is a fun tale from start to finish.

Cute short read about a fantasy place called Frost Mountain. Nothing much happens to the two main characters until the end, it was ok. A little meh. But an ok read. Probably won’t read the others in the series

This is the third enjoyable book in this series to read but it stands alone. This story is about Emily Davis and Sebastian. Emily/Em and her ex, Kenneth, are on the plane to Chicago to visit his parents for Christmas when the plane crash separated them. Found by Sabastian who takes her to his cabin and needs a favor, to pretend to be engaged with him for a night. This was another enjoyable story to read with personal characters, drama, romance in an engaging storyline. Can they forget and embrace their blooming feelings that grow between them and celebrate Christmas? I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
