Ruined & Relinquished #3

Ballads of Lines Blurred

Rate this book
The Rhythm Guitarist
With his guitar in hand, Slater’s right where he’s supposed to be. Off stage, he battles severe anxiety. Very few bother to look deeper than his profession. When two men do, he can’t turn away.

The Deejay
Milo’s happy going through life without being in a relationship. He loves his job, his family, and his friends. How he ends up dating two men, he’s not sure. He also doesn’t care. Commitment may not be so scary after all.

The Determined Dremest
Cody starts falling for Slater the moment he meets him, but in Slater’s eyes, Cody’s too young. While trying to get Slater to see him as more than his age, Cody begins looking at Milo as more than a friend.

Life isn’t easy. Why should love be? Slater, Milo, and Cody will find out what it means to put love to the test. When they have someone worth fighting for, they’ll do whatever it takes to hold on.

Ballads of Lines Blurred is an MMM steamy contemporary romance and book three in the Ruined & Relinquished series. It features a guitar player who battles internal demons, a deejay who can barely say the word relationship—let alone have one—and a man who follows his heart. There are friends to lovers, an age gap, first love, hurt/comfort, a sexy rock star, and a HEA. Each book in the series can be read as a standalone but is better enjoyed when read in order.

A wonderful story, the author makes it possible to create stories where heavy topics are present, and write about them respectfully but not overruling.
Three different men, three different backgrounds, and different age ranges combined they complement each other wonderfully.

The feelings are palpable, the anxiety, the hurt and the necessary comfort, friendship, respect, love, humor, and spice.
A solidly written mmm story! A series with stand-alone stories, but certainly worth reading all!

Read as a standalone story knowing its part of a series.

These guys couldnt be more differant from each other.
A good start as characters begin something new…dating.
Slater 39 yrs 🎸was part of Ruined & Relinquished and in a deep despair with no one in his life. His anxieties and meds made it tough on him.

Milo 29 yrs 🎼 was a deejay at Untouchable club were couples aka the band made trio relationships. Milo didnt do relationships at all until… a phone call.

Cody 20 was worried about Slater to talk to his brother but he loved Slater.

A great story for the three of them figuring out how to begin a romance. Slater’s emotions and hangups cause them troubles but Milo and Cody step up with advice from others in their friends community.
I didn't feel their connection but I really liked their story. Each character had their baggage which they shared in deep talks. In some scenes they had me laughing at their antics, especially with Milo. A few dramas happen with injuries but it all ends well for them with the HEA ending. Each character had their own povs into the story. Hot 🔥sexy scenes for them.

I love Slater's, Cody's, and Milo's story. The way they were there for each other and were so happy together. And the hot scenes were omg super hot! I thought the author did a great job with Slater's anxiety and some of the ways that can manifest. This is a great book and definitely worth reading.

I recently discovered Michelle Dare's MMM series (both the Ties that Bind and Ruined and Relinquished) and was instantly hooked. Her characters are so complex and loveable. I love the world she has created and although the books could be read out of order they are much more enjoyable read in order.
Ballads of Lines Blurred is the perfect way to complete this series. Sawyer, Milo and Cody are very different but totally perfect for each other. Sawyer struggles with anxiety which is sensitively explored, Milo has always preferred hook-ups and Cody has such a tragic backstory that. despite his young age leaves him very emotionally mature. Although this book deals with some heavy topics I felt that it was a really fun read with lots of feels and humour.
If you're a fan of MMM, I really cannot recommend this author highly enough.

Thank you to Beansprout and Michelle Dare for this eARC the thoughts are my own.

Ballad of Lines Blurred is book 3 in the Ruined & Relinquished series. This MMM romance focuses on Slater, Milo and Cody, who have featured in this and the crossover series Three Ties.

I have been wanting Slaters story since the first Ruined & Relinquished book at it didn't disappoint. I love the whole of the Dremest world that Michelle Dare has created, but the way she explored Slater’s inner demons was brilliant. I also loved how Milo and Cody had similar but different traumas. These 3 men complemented each other, and I'm so pleased they got the HEA they didn't even know they needed and deserved.

Things I loved
🎧 MMM romance
🎸 Inner Demons
💪🏼Shared Experiences
🎧 Age Gap
🎸 Hurt/Comfort
💪🏼HEA

I really need to stop reading books by this author. I just don’t like the writing style and there’s so much weird drama going on. Not my thing.

Ballads of Lines Blurred by Michelle Dare is the third book in her Ruined and Relinquished series. I highly recommend that you read the others first because of characters and situations that continue in this one. This is the story of 3 men who have had severe trauma in their lives that still haunts them as they find themselves falling for each other and how they deal with it to be together. One thing they have in common is the strip club Untouchable where one works, another visits, and the third is related to the owner. Slater is the rhythm guitarist for the band Ruined and Relinquished. He loves playing and touring because it gets him out of his head where he has extreme anxiety and panic attacks which started earlier in his life after an incident involving his cousin. Because of this he doesn’t think he can be in a relationship as others will tire of his problems and leave him, which would devastate him. This is why he keeps turning down Cody, who is 20 and also had trauma when his parents were killed in front of his eyes, and was taken in and adopted by Xaiden and his partners. He has had his eye on Slater for a long time but Slater always saw him as a “kid” and Cody wants him to see him as an adult who can make his own decisions and that he wants him. Then Milo comes along. He is the Deejay at Untouchable and only does one night stands. He also lost his parents and this weighs on him at times. Cody has been pursuing Slater and has always been turned down and Slater has had his eye on Milo when he visits the club, but he also has feelings for Cody that he doesn’t want to act on because of his age and Slater’s anxiety. Then they talk and realize they have feelings for each other. Cody becomes enamored with Milo as they get to know one another and they both want Slater and when they finally act on this they have some very hot love scenes. The story continues as they try to find their way together with lots of angst along the way with Slater’s condition and his worry that Cody and Milo’s lives will come under the microscope of the press once their relationship gets out. Cody and Milo have to keep reassuring Slater that they will be OK as they have been in the spotlight before and once it does come out Slater is worried that they will leave him. Milo also retreats after Cody gets hurt and Slater spends more time with him, thinking that they don’t want him anymore. But in the end it all works out and they are able to deepen their love and go on tour with Slater and the band and have the life they want together. I liked this book but it is very angsty with everything that the main characters have had to go through. Slater is very insecure and anxious, Milo is surprised that he wants to be with the others more than one night, and Cody is tired of being considered too young for them. But once they are able to work things out they discover that they are just what all of them need to be happy. Their friends and other relatives play a very important part in the story as they live and work with them and help them when they can. I recommend this book, especially if you like darker M/M/M stories about a rock star and the men he falls in love with as they battle problems in their lives and then find the love they always wanted and needed.

(I received an ARC for this book)

Trigger Warnings include:
death of parents, suicide, descriptive violence, off-page assault, anxiety with on page panic attacks

I am not at all surprised that I have fallen even deeper in love with the men of Dremest! I could literally copy-paste the same reactions into each of my reviews for this series and the Three Ties series. So to sum up the continuous love I have for them: I am OBSESSED with these characters and the journey their love takes them on! It’s big, and loud, and deep, and strong, and beautiful! And while painful at times, it is worth every second of it! I am absolutely attached to each of these men. Slater Meadows, Milo Pierce, and Cody Dremest were already in my heart. But loving them this way? Even better! Cody’s crush on Slater has turned into pining and pouty. Slater is hoping that Milo can help him stay away from Cody. But what Mr. Commitment Fearing Milo actually does is act as the glue to bring their hearts together exactly where they all belong. Everyone sees the lust and the heart eyes, and we’re all SO very glad when these three finally get things figured out! My heart broke for each of them along the way. What helped my heart? Getting to spend time with my other favorite couples. Especially during “parenting” time. Gosh that was perfect! I’m really sad we’ve reached the end of this series, but I am THRILLED for what comes next!

I thoroughly enjoy this series with the band members of Ruined and Relinquished finding the loves of their lives and the way it is so interwoven with the Dremest family and the club, Unchained in the Three Ties series. All of these characters are charismatic in their own ways, and how they all interact with and care for each other just enriches the relationships of all. All characters are so well-developed when introduced, then keep evolving as they show up in successive books, until they become well-known old friends.

The blurb sets this book up pretty well. All three characters each deal with their own trauma from their pasts which has an impact on all stages of the relationship, and Slater’s anxiety and panic attacks will continue to play a roll, but together the three deal with it in a positive way. Cody show maturity beyond his age, seeming to instinctively know what Slater needs, and giving it to him when Slater is willing to drop his defenses and accept what he wants. Milo grows, too, realizing he can be that kind of “r” guy, all in with his two men.

I admire the way Michelle is able to take each of her unique characters and weave the threads of their lives together to form one whole that meets the needs and fills the missing holes for each one, while also showcasing the meaningful interactions between all of the varied characters of the two series. I find the list of characters at the beginning of the book very helpful when reading, as there is a time period between the release of each book, and by the time we are at Ballads ( think that’s 7 books now), they get a bit mixed up. Have often thought of trying to do a “family tree” or diagram to remember which characters are together, are family, are found family, but haven’t tried it yet. I wonder if Michelle has one to keep it all straight when writing.

I also appreciate Michelle highlighting the impact of social media on high profile and famous people, and how that can set off anxiety and panic attacks if the comments and verbal attacks are internalized by the “victim” of the attacks. Taking her high profile examples and trickling it down to an “average person” with insecurities of their own just emphasizes the potentially destructive aspect of this large part of our lives, especially for young people today. It is a good thing to keep reminding us of if we assess our own interactions online.

Anyway, love these books, the way all these men end up with two other men to love, the infinite variety of ways to express their love in the steamy scenes which are just part of the flow of the books, not something put in to up the heat level. You feel like you know these men, some as acquaintances, some as old friends, but all part of a large and unique whole. Looking forward to Jordan Sr,’s story, (another love of threes?), and how it will weave into the entire tapestry presented so far. Maybe another dancer at the club? Hard to remember who might still be unattached. Guess we just must wait and see. If you love a book with relatable characters to draw you into their lives, this is one for you.

BALLADS OF LINES BLURRED is the third and final book in the Ruined & Relinquished series, although I'm hoping all of the throuples show up in future books! This time it's Slater - Milo - Cody... were there ever men who needed each other more? I'm not sure.

Slater's anxiety is off the charts. You've seen him fight with it in the previous books, but this time, you get a front-row seat to his struggles, as well as knowing his thoughts on it. For reasons of his own, Milo is a one-and-done kinda man - until he meets Slater, that is. Then he starts having all these weird sorts of thoughts, like commitment, dating, and boyfriends. And Cody? Well, he wants Slater in any way he can. He just wants to be more than his age. And then he meets Milo...

This was an amazing story. I've loved all of them in this trilogy but I think this one might be my favourite. Slater is lonely, seeing his band mates settle down and still being alone. He also doesn't think he will ever meet anyone who will be able to cope with him. He is also so strong, although he doesn't see it that way, but I know having to deal with that level of anxiety daily is draining. He still tried. Yes, some days were harder than others, but he still tried. He pushed Cody away because he thought that was the right thing to do, even though it hurt both of them in the process. And I loved how Milo was the one that could bring them together. His concerns after the fight were completely understandable and I loved how he was reassured and shown he was just as important to the other two. Cody has a mature head on his shoulders, as shown clearly here. His backstory is heartbreaking, as is Milo's, but he has grown into a man he can be proud of.

All of the other throuples are here and lend a helping hand when needed, which I loved. The story moved along at a perfect pace, giving me plenty of time for all the thoughts and feelings, as well as having steamy scenes.

For me, this was the perfect book to end on... although I hope to see more of the Dremest men in the future. After all, I still need Vail's story! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by me.

~|ARC REVIEW|~

BOLB is an MMM age gap/first love romance it is the third book in the series i’ve got to say all the people in the series I just one extremely big family the MC’s is Slater, Milo and Code

Code works at the fitness centre who is owned by one of his adaptive fathers. He’s the kind of guy you just instantly fall in love with☺️

Milo is a deejay who works at the club he’s a smiley and extremely lovable as a person

Slater is the guitarist of a rock band, a lovely soul with a shit ton of anxiety

And oh god these boys You know the saying Everybody has a sob story
None the less true to the saying I did sob through every story

I really enjoyed reading the story, though it was really hard reading about how much Slater with his anxiety, and about how all the boys big stories could really have given them some severe trauma, but they fought through it, like they fought for their love for each other

“If I didn’t feel like I could keep my head above water, Cody and Milo would be there to make sure I didn’t sink. They’d lift me up and keep me close, where I was meant to be, in their arms.”-slater

I mean they would they’re so supportive of each other and they’re so good at helping each other to get over whatever issues they’re dealing with at the moment if one of them was drowning they wouldn’t have to worry because they knew that someone love them so much that they will be willing to throw themselves out there risking drowning themselves, just to save them.

“When one of us fell, the others would catch us. When one hurt, we all did. We were connected in a way I’d only seen but not experienced before them. I would forever be grateful for the opportunity to love them.”- Code

God, what beautiful love these boys have and such a incredible lovely written story I would 100% recommend this series I think you would really enjoy these lovely boys and this incredible bond they all have. It was like they were meant to be.

You know what I actually started reading this series from the third book. I know it’s a little weird but I’m actually pretty happy I did that and now I will definitely go read the first books and I’m so excited for the next work by Michelle and to know that I will definitely be reading it.

What a Beautiful love story these three have! It’s wonderful
I’ve got to say I am a massive fan of Michelle Dare, I just get totally lost in her books.
In this book ballads of lines blurred, we learn more about
Slater, who is the guitar player in the group, Ruined and relinquished. he has watched his other band mates who are like brothers to him. Find the people they love. But Slater, who is an amazing man that suffers with anxiety and panic attacks. His bandmates are absolutely fabulous at giving him the care he needs. but he feels like he shouldn’t be in a relationship that he’s not good enough. But he cannot stop looking at Cody and Milo.
Cody, who watched his parents be murdered, has been adopted by a wonderful group of men and he had a massive crush on Slater. He waited until his 20th birthday till he hoped that Slater would see him as a man and not a child. He knew that Slater had an issue with being 19 years older than him. And it wasn’t until someone mentioned that Milo kept looking his way that Cody took an interest. And their first date they really got to know each other. The attraction was instant.
Milo is a DJ at Drexen’s exclusive nightclub called untouchable and thoroughly enjoys his job. It can be awkward having your world turned around. He’s up all night and sleeps most of the day. He lost his parents a while ango and he is very close to his brother. Milo is the king of hook ups he’s never wanted commitment he finds it scary but when he looks at Slater and Cody, he is amazed at the feelings he’s having.
I have got to admit that I got totally lost in their story, and my heart really went out to all three of these men for totally different reasons, and if I could give them a hug, I would! they all have something in their pasts that cause heartache. But together they can rely on one another to help support, comfort and defend if needed. The connection is formed with the communication skills that were definitely needed for these three to learn about the feelings they were having for one another. Together the passion is off the charts, but what really got me was the connection that these three held. I cannot wait for the next book from Michelle Dare.

"I know who's standing in front of me. I know the way you look, the way your hair moves when you turn your head, and how it bounces into your eyes. And I now know your scent. If it were Cas here, I wouldn't be touching him like this. He'd innocently hold me. You touch me once and I'm ready to come apart."

Finally time for Slater’s story, seeing him crushing on the wrong guy had my heart breaking and now he finally gets his HEA!

Slater is dealing with a lot of issues, and some of those issues had him pushing away Cody for a long time. Cody was just too young and Slater wasn’t good for him, Cody deserved more. It took Milo to have Slater get his head out of the sand and realize that he might not feel like he’s good enough, but he fell for Cody a long time ago. No denying will change that.

This book deals with a lot of anxiety, trust issues and loss. All three men have been through the rollercoaster of life more than once. And while they all have amazing support in their families and friends. They were missing those puzzle pieces that would complete their picture. Finding it in each other made for a beautiful story, through a whirlwind of emotions.

“Love was a crazy, wild emotion that had the power to lift me high into the sky or crash me down on the ground so hard I wondered if I'd ever get up.
These two had double the effect on me. There would be no others like them, and I never wanted there to be. They were mine. I was wholly theirs.”

I did feel like Slater’s initial approach to Milo was a bit weird, I would have liked to have seen a little more interaction than what actually happened. Milo became the glue between Slater and Cody, and especially the beginning of the story made it feel like that, he didn’t feel like an equal part until the middle and end.

Slater’s anxiety gave me all the feels. That man just needs to be hugged and loved every day of his life and now he has Milo and Cody to do it. The three of them are an amazing unit. A great addition to this world. In Dremest all good things come in threes!!

I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

********** Contains Spoilers**********

I really enjoyed this book and thought that it was a good conclusion to the Ruined & Relinquished Series, which is set in the same universe as Three Ties Series and it’s best to read that series first as there’s no doubt that the characters from that series will be sprinkled throughout. This book and was more angsty than the Three Ties Series which makes sense being tortured artists and all that. I really enjoyed Cody, Milo & Slater’s story and thought they were good together and their chemistry was off the charts. I’m glad that they had open and honest communication between the three of them. Yes they had moments of doubt but they didn’t allow the other to distance themselves for long. I’m glad that Cody and Milo broke through Slater’s walls to make sure he knows that they don’t care about what people say about their relationship and that they won’t leave.

I don’t blame Slater for trying to push them away mainly to try and protect them, as he doesn’t want them hurt due to being with him. A lot of that was his anxiety talking. I thought that Cody and Milo were great with helping Slater through his panic attacks and just offered him the support he needs. I’m so happy that Slater finally found his own happily ever after, even though it took him awhile to accept that they weren’t going anywhere. I loved getting snippets of the characters that we’ve gotten to know and fall in love with during the Three Ties Series during this book. It makes smile how JJ and Val are still fanboying over the guys from Ruined & Relinquished, even though they consider them friends. I’m really looking forward to reading East Dremest Mafia Series next which is set within this universe, as well as more books from Michelle Dare in the future. I’d recommend this book, series and author to others.

Wahoo I am so happy that I got to go on this journey with Slater, Milo and Cody. The Blurb does a wonderful job of setting up the story. We are given a great cast of characters and the chemistry and emotions jump off the page. I was hooked from the beginning and fell in love with these men right away. They are all dealing with tragedies in their pasts and have coped differently now they need to learn how to trust in each other.

“This wasn’t a line between love and hate with us. It was a line between all or nothing. I didn’t know if I could blur it and have something in the middle.”

This is not what I would call a fluff read but OH it is a good one and ends with a HEA that gives you that warm fuzzy feeling. Be ready for your emotions to get pulled on this one since there are mental health issues involved that the author does a beautiful job tackling. For mood readers I would make sure to be in an “ok” place for this one since Slater deals with anxiety, depression and there is also talk of death and suicide of family members and abusive exes.

“You sell yourself short. You’re not your anxiety or depression. Yes, they’re part of you you, but when someone asks about you, we don’t lead with ‘Oh, Slater has panic attacks.’ We tell them you’re one of the the best people we know. We say you’re an amazing guitarist. How you help write the band’s songs and keep us together. We’d be lost without you.”

Three broken people, each in their own way, come together in a beautifully written story by Michelle Dare.
I can confirm it. It’s in the water… Three is the magic number and as Dexen once said, three… let’s call them body parts, are always better than two.

I’ve devoured all previous books in this series and I was so much looking forward to Slater’s story because he is, personally, my favorite band member. When he is not up on stage performing, anxiety has a strong hold on him.
Cody fell in lust and in love with Slater from the moment he met him a couple years back. He is not giving up on him, always asking about him, wanting to make him see that despite the age gap, together they can be good for one another.
Then we have Milo, who can’t even say the word relationship without stammering, has a great sense of humor and a heart big enough not just for one but two men. And he didn’t even know it. Oh, he is broken too.

Their story has it all! Anxiety, panic attacks, banter, a blood red cake, free soaps, cooking lessons, family who care about you and found family who care even more and a so much worth it HEA for the three of them. I loved reading their story and discovering, page after page, together with them, that love isn’t easy but at times you just have to get out of your comfort zone and beliefs and realize that you are worth it, together you are stronger and definitely not alone.
Thank you Michelle for trusting me with an early reading copy of your book. It’s an honor!.

I am soo happy that Slater has his happy ending! I loved the band Ruined and Relinquished and got to read every single one of their lives and how they mate their men. This one made me feel so happy for Slater, Milo, and Cody. These three men needed love in their life and they found it with each other. Yes, there were obstacles that were in the way but each one of them overcame them all. Once you meet these men, it was just so sweet and romantic. When love finds these characters, you can't help but feel attached to them and want them to be together. And the band is always there when Slater needs them. Never turning him away and always having time for him.

Slater has his demons that he tries to overcome but it takes time for him. After having his heart broken over Reed loving Casper and Elic, he goes into a bit of a spiral. It's so nice to have him love Milo and Cody. These three make it work. Plus, he is part of the band that is popular and Milo and Cody see him for who Slater really is.

Milo works as a DJ in Untouchable with his brother Hale. You can see the brotherly love with these two and Milo sees how happy Hale is every day. But he's not sure he wants a relationship until Slater walks in his life. Now he will do anything to be with him.

Cody is the younger of the three but he wants Slater to see him as more than just a young kid. He wants to be with Slater and learn everything about him. When he sees Slater with Mio, he gets a bit upset but he realizes that he is into Milo also.

Lines will be crossed but it is up to them to cross them and love with their hearts.

Ahhhh. I've been waiting for the next book in this series and I was NOT disappointed!

All of the Dremest boys are just *chefs kiss* and Slater, Milo, and Cody were no exception.

Slater has been pushing Cody away for a while now, as you know if you're familiar with the other books in this world. Cody has just turned 20 and there's a 19 year age gap between him and Slater. (This kind of fell into my pet peeve a little since it seems all the books I've read the last two weeks had one of the MCs deciding for the other that they deserved better and so pushed them away/broke up with them, so seeing Slater be so bullheaded for so long pushed a button but that is in no way a reflection of the book or Michelle! Especially since I was aware of Slater's hang up before I even started reading it.)

In trying to keep from thinking about Cody, Slater has been slinking around Untouchable, a strip club that is connected to his inner circle friend group. That was where he previously met Milo, a deejay at the club. On a whim, Slater leaves his number for Milo, who doesn't do relationships. At all.

Until Slater. Something about the rockstar makes him wonder if he could do a relationship. Even though he knows that Slater is interested in Cody (and that it's mutual) but Slater doesn't want to cross that line.

I did think the pacing was a touch off, but I could have just been impatient to see Slater give in to Cody. There's a lot will-he won't-he going on in the beginning. And I was eager to see them get over that hurdle and see how they'd fit as a trio.

Overall, it was a fabulous installment into this world. I can't wait for more!

Took another trip to Dremest and it did not disappoint.

I’ve been waiting for Slater to find love since he was first introduced. Michelle always does such a great job of leading up to her next books and the snippets we’ve gotten of Slater have left me wanting more.

Having anxiety myself I’ve always related to Slater and his over thinking and how it takes over his thoughts. Thank goodness for Milo and Cody who gave this man all the love he deserves. Eventually he realized he was getting in his own way let himself be happy.

Now let’s give Milo and Cody their flowers.

We’ve met Cody a couple times already and his experiences in life have grown him up so much. He’s ready for his love story and has such great role models of what love looks like from Corbin, Val and Xaiden. At first he is all about Slater but as he gets to know Milo he realizes how much he needs both of these men. He really stands his ground and doesn’t take no for an answer.

Milo. Sweet baby Milo. I loved reading his side of this triangle. He’s been notorious for no monogamy. He is a sleep with them and leave type of guy but there is something about Slater and Milo that get under his skin and make him realize that he is ready to settle down. My heartstrings were pulled when he got into his head but communication is key!

Overall this book completed a perfect series and I can’t wait to see who shows up next.

What else can I say about this series that I haven’t already! I absolutely loved this book and the series as a whole. I love the connections that are built with each threesome but Al’s the connection that is built with the extended family and the way that they protect each other. And while I would never complain about having more spicy scenes, I love that those scenes are not the focus of these books, that we get to focus on how each characters traumas have shaped them and the relationships that they are building and how that makes the relationships stronger as they learn to overcome those challenges. I also enjoy that the other threesomes don’t disappear from book to book but are still prevalent in each book as the “new” characters begin to explore their feelings and figure out how to be in a relationship with three men. In all honesty, I absolutely loved how this book ended because it was the perfect ending not just to slater, Cody and Milo’s story but also to that of the other 6 characters from this series! While I’m sad this series is over I know that I don’t have to leave this “world” just yet as there are 7 other books that I can dive into. And honestly I can’t wait to do just that!!

Slater + Cody + Milo = ❤️

3 stars ⭐️

Ugh, as much as I love this universe and I have read & adored every book so far, this relationship just didn't work for me. I'll tell you why and it will make sense if you've read the previous story: so much anticipation was put on Cody falling for Slater since he first saw him. With Cody's determination and the build up of these two finally getting together, I expected insane chemistry, incredible spicy scenes and tons of emotion. What I got was Milo sweeping in out of nowhere imo upsetting this anticipation and lessening the relationship between Slater and Cody. I found Milo to be a fun balance between Cody and Slater but that's where it ended. I found Milo to be an extremely selfish character, without spoiling I will just say that he gave me all about him vibes in and out of the bedroom. Anyways, that my 2 cents about this throuple, I will still recommend this read because it's part of this series and I am still a huge fan even if I didn't think this one was the best of it. I am looking forward to more, please bring one Vail and Jordan Sr.

I've read all of the books of this series and the previous series as well, and I was eagerly waiting for Slater's book as well as Cody's book and Milo's happy ending. But I never pictured all of them together. But in the end, they were exactly what each other needed.
Slater, the Guitarist in the band Ruined and Relinquished, suffers from severe anxiety and panic attacks. Milo, the DJ at Untouchable a club where his brother works, likes to keep his dating arrangements as one-night stands only. Then there is Cody. Cody is about Twenty and he discovers his crush (More than Crush) for later. Slater has a crush on Milo and he doesn't want to have a crush on Cody, Slater keeps thinking Cody is too young and tells him so. After that the story revolves around Slater working through his issue over Cody's age and Cody and Milo staying by Slater's side when shit hits the fan, to show him that they are here to stay. this was such a beautifully written story with so much chemistry between these Three characters.

Can't wait for the next series.

Ballads of Lines Blurred is a deeply emotional and compelling addition to Michelle Dare’s Ruined & Relinquished series. The story’s raw and authentic portrayal of a complex MMM relationship drew me in from the start. Each character is distinct and richly developed, with their own struggles and growth that feel genuine and relatable. I especially appreciated how the angst and tension stem from real, believable places, such as Slater’s deep anxiety, which added a layer of emotional depth to the narrative.

The chemistry among the trio is intense and heartfelt, and the slow unfolding of their connection kept me fully engaged throughout. Michelle Dare’s writing is both steamy and tender, balancing passion with vulnerability in a way that makes the romance feel real and earned. Even as a standalone, this book shines, but it also fits beautifully into the larger series arc.

Fans of contemporary MMM romance looking for a story with emotional stakes, well-drawn characters, and a satisfying, heartfelt romance will find Ballads of Lines Blurred a must-read. I’m eagerly anticipating the next series!

I’ve read several of the books in this series and other MMM books by this author. And while, I enjoyed this story I wasn’t as invested in it as some of the others. Honestly, it felt kind of like the same story again.

I love MMM, it’s a favorite of mine for sure, but the fact that there are three different series that are closely related (Three Ties, Ruined and Relinquished, and East Dremest Mafia) all interconnected and all MMM makes for repetitive reading. I have NOT read every book in all the series’ and I probably won’t, but I will say the ones I’ve read are enjoyable.

Some repetition… for example, usually at least one of the MC’s is constantly wondering how you could possibly make a three-way relationship work and how are they going to fit in etc. When they’re literally surrounded by a huge group of other triads.

Each one I’ve read has been well written, and usually relatively high heat. Overall, I would recommend these books, but not reading them too terribly close together would probably be a wise choice.

Wow, this book was awesome once you start you don't want to put the book down, the story was about three men with an assortment of feelings, Slater is a guitarist in the band Ruined and Relinquished, and he suffers from anxiety and panic attacks. Milo is a DJ at Untouchable a club his brother owns, Milo loves changing the colour of his hair he also likes keeping dating arrangements as a one-night stand only, then there is Cody. Cody is about twenty he had his birthday a little while ago he has a crush on Slater, Slater has a crush on Milo and one he doesn't want to have is a crush on Cody, Slater keeps thinking Cody is too young and tells him so and wants another night with Milo and when they kissed Cody was heartbroken Slater noticed Cody walked away. There was so much chemistry between them it was really hot.

Just didn't feel this like I did the other triads

I don't know what it was but this didn't work as well for me. I loved Slater in his bandmates' books and desperately wanted him to find happiness and security and love. I expected Slater and Cody would combust when they finally got together but it was just a bit of a damp squib after the buildup. Milo sort of came out of nowhere, with no foreshadowing and suddenly, Slater was attracted to him and Cody just went along for the ride at first, then suddenly realised he had feelings for Milo too. It just didn't ring true as there was no real groundwork for their romance and it was such a shame.
I loved seeing Dash, Casper, Reed, Xaiden, Corbin, Val, Dexen, Romeo again, and laughed myself silly at Pepper's latest hate present to Jordan (and at his response too!).
I am beside myself that Jordan Sr. is next to get his HEA, especailly since I now know who his two men are.

I loved Ballads of Lines Blurred: An MMM Rockstar Romance Book 3 of Ruined & Relinquished. So happy for Slater to finally get his HEA. Slater battles severe anxiety and depression, he’s pushed Cody away because of his age what seems like forever. Meeting Milo gave him a distraction but he still can’t get Cody off his mind and he won’t give up Milo. Cody is broken hearted over Slater, he knows he’s young but he’s also survived a lot of trauma. Milo has survived his parents death but closed himself off to relationships. Lots of tears, both sad and happy. I love how this book is intertwined with the previous. I love the story and the characters. I would definitely have tissue handy. I would definitely recommend this book and the series.

Being in a band with your brother and your best friends isn’t always easy but Slater loves what he does. He’s large and in charge when he’s on stage. But things are different when he’s not. Anxiety and overthinking spiral him into shutting down and his friends and family are there to help him out.

Cody has been in love with Slater for several years but being only 20, people think he lacks experience to understand just what love is. Slater is attracted to Cody but that 19 year age gap is a lot for him to grasp. Add Milo to the mix and there’s a a lot of testosterone going on.

I really enjoyed reading how these three men rally around each other and how their friends all have such an amazing relationship.

I was a bit worried because this had an anxiety/ mental illness plot like the last one and didn't want it to be overwhelming as before. Thank goodness Milo had a humorous bone to him to liven it up.

This was character driven. There was very little to the plot development itself. The premise of Cody wanting Slater carried over from book 2, with Milo being thrown into the mix on a whim of a business card being left behind. I enjoyed the story, especially since I was excited for Cody to get his own book since we have known him since he he came into the picture in the THREE TIES series. His story is rehashed from his POV if you never read those books. The whole Dremest Ensemble came back in some form or another to close out this sequel series in a big way that made me very happy. I'm excited to read the next phase of the Dremest world with the start of Jordan Sr's book. I have a feeling it's about to turn really dark and dangerous.

*personal note: Book 150 in year 2024!

What a beautiful read. I found this author did a fantastic job writing a character with anxiety. And how much it affects everyone around. I enjoyed all three of these boys and the final boy of ruined and relinquished got his heA. We understand slaters triggers and how Cody and Milo played a huge role in helping him. She made it very clear it was not just about the sex. It was about the overall human interaction can help one in a time of distress. Gives adage to the idea of a simple hello and gesture can really help someone who might be at the end of their rope so to speak. It made me understand kindness and respect will go a long way into that person's life. It was a fantastic read and of course the hea we wanted.
