I really enjoyed this story. The main characters were very interesting and three dimensional. The author paints his world with a style that really captured my imagination. The world itself has a hidden past and the past grows and comes alive.

Theel brings complex emotions on his quest. It's not just for validation and duty. The heroes have exciting capabilities and yet they have real challenges, not just The Avengers kicking butt wherever they go. Evil forces that are barely understood and evil forces are familiar lurk just over the next hill.

I particularly enjoyed the bit of the failed magic user and his companion and their bickering antics.

I was very satisfied with the ending. The ending could easily be the final ending of the character's story . The novel stands well on its own.

Currently reading the book (about 15% of the way through); I received a Kindle ARC, so I wanted to give my thoughts on the book so far. The world the story is set in is intriguing, but there is definitely room to fine tune. There are times where a large amount of information is given to the reader in the form of dialogue, which leaves the characters sounding long winded. There are many moving parts, so I am interested to see how they come together.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, via Goodreads giveaways.

Overall this was good. The story telling was enough to hold my attention. I kind of felt like it was missing something but I can't put my finger on it. It's like when you make a recipe, and it's still good but it needs something. That's how this was.

I enjoyed reading this book. It was action-packed, was a great story, and also made me laugh along the way. I thought the central idea and the world-building was interesting but could have been a little better developed either before delving into the story or as the story developed. It had a satisfying ending while leaving enough meat on the bone for further installments. My thanks to Techlin and Goodreads for the Kindle copy.
