Does your child love watching construction vehicles at work? Do they love to play with trucks or trains? If your child is thrilled by monster trucks or airplanes, this book is for them. This oversized picture book covers sixteen categories of large vehicles, from construction vehicles to limos, monster trucks, ships, military helicopters, and rockets. Every colossal vehicle is covered.

Some vehicles are colossal just for fun like Bigfoot 5, the biggest monster truck. It set the record for being the tallest, widest, and heaviest monster truck. Facts on the page share its weight and how it compares to animals in size. Cadillac One is the presidential limo, but it isn’t just any limo. It can quickly back up and turn in a different direction much faster than other cars. The limo even travels by a cargo plane when the president travels by airplane.

Other pages share vehicles and how they operate, like a crane or an excavator. Taking a cruise this fall? Teach your child all about cruise ships from this book. Did you know their cruising speed is only 25 miles per hour? Today’s colossal cruise ships are also nearly 100 meters bigger than the Titanic.

With the oversized pages, the illustrations have lots of details along with room for factual descriptions. I appreciated the comparisons, for example, a road grader is 69 feet or the length of 6 cars. I also liked learning how a cylinder works or that each railroad container weighs as much as five elephants when fully loaded.

The extra thick paper holds up to multiple page-turns which is great because once kids start reading this, they will want to look at it over and over again. Especially every time they spot a colossal vehicle on the road.

I have three nephews who have loved construction books since they were two years old. They’re now 6, 5 and 2. The six year old has moved on to nonfiction books on any subject. When I saw this one, I knew he would love it. It starts out with a clear, easy to read table of contents. It moves on to include detailed illustrations, facts and statistics about every giant vehicle. Any question your little one may have is covered.

A fun book for kids, but the information isn't always accurate.
