I don’t know if any review I write is enough to express the emotions entangling me from FOLLOW ME BACK, this story I LOVE more than I can ever pen to words. When I finished this novel, I didn’t want to review it: I wanted to REREAD IT. I read this tale with tears embedded in my eyes the whole time. I went to bed dreaming of this heartbreaking and heartwarming tale. I’m still BREATHLESS from this book. I’m just so SMITTEN with and HEART-STRUCK by this story!!!

”Did you know the first time I saw you, you knocked the air right out of my lungs?”

Kale is devastatingly handsome, sexy, dirty-taking, protective, big-hearted, a bit broken, and a man who when he finds the right woman will make her his world. Kale has to be one of the heroes with the biggest hearts ever. This man melted me as did the surprise hero in this story, the one who melted me most. Kale is everything a hero should be and more!

This girl. I could feel her cracking me wide open.

Hope, the woman is a heroine anyone could and would hope for, so beautiful inside and out. She has strength in spades and shines all over like sunlight. I adored her!

He was undoing me.

Kale and Hope are MAGICAL together! Their chemistry combusts but it is their hearts that point the way to each other most. They are broken but whole together. This hero and heroine are true soulmates, as if chosen by fate, and I felt their powerful bond blast through me.

”What it is you make me feel. What you make me want. It’s there. Haunting me. Chasing me. Demanding more.”

Follow Me Back is FIRE HOT while igniting the heart in flames too. It potent and passionate mix of HEAT and HEART made me HEADY! This is a story about living life to the fullest after it left you empty. Follow Me Back is heart, heartbreak, and hope. Follow Me Back touched every part of my heart and soul. Its words are lyrical, singing to you like a heart-hitting harmony, as your heart beats in tune, where you’ll feel every passion-pounding word. Every word cut through me like a knife, slicing my soul, bleeding for every bit of this book. My heart ... oh did it SHATTER and SOAR from the highs and lows of this HEART-CLINCHER in words.

”I don’t know how to stop thinking about you.”

A.L. Jackson takes your emotions on an extraordinary journey in Follow Me Back where you can’t help but FEEL EVERY WORD. Words that reach in and grab your heart, holding it tightly. Words that steal your soul, stomping on it with each breath. You’ll feel this story with all your heart and deep in your soul. You’ll FEEL EVERYTHING! Follow Me Back is EVERYTHING!!!

”Colliding with you feels unavoidable.”

No matter what A.L. Jackson writes, she has a lyrical way with words. It’s as if each sentence is the verse of a soul-crushing and heartfelt song playing in your head, ready to both lose and find yourself in, ready to carry you away. I can‘t help but hold my breath while reading A.L. Jackson’s words, words with magnitude in spades, words that both crush and console me. It doesn’t matter if the words this author pens to life are sorrowful or sweet—tears well up in my eyes from the EMOTIONAL INTENSITY alone.

”I refuse to become your regret. But I’m going to set you free.”

Follow Me Back is so BREATHTAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL that you can’t help but feel that beauty blooming all over too. A.L. Jackson delivers a heartfelt and relatable book about love and loss that will stay with you long after you’ve turned the last page. I SHATTERED and SWOONED so hard!!! This heart-rending and soul-slaying story OWNS EVERY OUNCE OF ME!!! My heart is still stuck in this story. Follow Me Back has a piece of my heart that I may never get back.

”Don’t ever, ever give up on hope. Because it’s always there, no matter how dismal things might seem.”

Follow Me Back is so SPECIAL!!! This story is so WORTHY that I’m not giving it stars. I’m giving Follow Me Back hearts because it has so much heart and still holds mine! Follow Me Back is not only a TOP 2018 READ but a LIFETIME READ too!

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ ’but worth all the‘ breathtakingly beautiful’ hearts

My heart has always been hung on hope.

My feels. Oh my poor feels. This book tugged at absolutely every single heartstring I had. I sobbed my way through almost half of it. Follow Me Back was a beautifully written, gripping and highly emotional romance that was full of swoons and impossible to put down.
He looked like discord.
Chaos with an easy, arrogant smile.
A perfect, controlled disorder.

I was instantly hooked on all of these characters the second we were introduced to them in Show Me the Way. But I'm ashamed to admit that Kale wasn't at the top of my list. He struck me as a character that wouldn't hold my attention and I'm happily eating my words right now. Because this man? He didn't just have a presence. He had a PRESENCE. With a past that haunts him daily and prevents him from truly opening his heart, Kale never saw it coming. But when he first lays his eyes on the beautiful redhead in a bar, it's like he's struck by lightning. The connection between them is immediate, even though Hope makes him work for it.
The girl was calm and a raging fire.
Peace and a hurricane.
Modest and demure with a straight shot of vixen.

Hope has secrets of her own. She's a woman with too much to lose, and she doesn't need more than five seconds in Kale's presence to know that he threatens everything; her sanity but most especially her heart.

Hope simply made this book for me. As much as I loved Kale, he had moments toward the end of the book that had me wanting to shake him. Granted I understood the reasoning behind his fear, but I wanted to slap him nonetheless. But Hope? This woman was incredible. The fight in her. Her heart. her devotion to the single most important thing in her life. All of it just made me feel for her and connect with her on such a level that I felt like her pain was my own.

This author has such a beautiful, fluid writing style that's almost lyrical. It just served to intensify every emotion that these characters were feeling. I couldn't get enough of it.

The romance was incredible. It was so swoony that it made my heart ache. It was a slow burn with plenty of emotion and just a touch of angst. I absolutely loved it.
He fucked me exactly like I knew he would when I'd seen him that first time in the bar.
Arrogantly.
Confidently.
Relentlessly.

If you're looking for a beautifully written romance with plenty of feeling and an incredible story that's sure to touch your heart and stay with you for a long while, you can't go wrong with this book. If possible, I'm even more excited for Ollie's book. I'm so hooked on this amazing series!

Guilt! Sacrifice! Fear! vs. Hope!

How do you move on with your life when you feel you have absolutely no right to do so? You know you made a huge mistake, so you should pay for it for the rest of your life, right?

That is how has “panty dropping,” Dr. Kale Bryant has felt for the past decade. Well, that is until the most stunning woman he has ever laid eyes on enters the bar he likes to frequent. Her name is Hope, and that is what she gives him .... hope. Hope for a future he decided a long time ago he doesn’t deserve.

This is the second book of A. L. Jackson’s “ Fight For Me” series. But no worries, all are stand alones. It’s nice there are crossover characters to meet up with. If you enjoy reading this author, it will be right up your romance alley.

If you enjoy the second chance romance trope, this is a terrific read with charming characters and a compelling storyline! A hot read that is also stinking adorable all at the same time ;)

“Even hope needs a hero…”

Whilst I really did enjoy Show Me the Way, book 1 in the Fight for Me series, that is nothing compared to how I feel about Follow Me Back. I am a massive sucker for highly emotional romances that have the ability to make me feel everything from the highest of highs, to the lowest of lows, a total rollercoaster. I can happily confirm that this was absolutely achieved. A. L. Jackson has beautifully written a highly addictive story that was near impossible for me to put down.

We were first introduced to Kale in Show Me the Way and I was happy when I first discovered Follow Me Back was his story, because I couldn’t wait to find out more about the hot ER doctor. Kale is cocky, arrogant, but also charming with the kind of smile that will melt even the coldest of hearts.

“God. This incredible man.
So beautiful and giving, radiating a selfless kind of devotion behind that stunning, devastating exterior. Haunted by something he wouldn’t allow me to see.”

Kale lives for his job as a doctor and closed his heart off a long time ago to the prospect of love; for him, it is not worth the heartache. He has his friends and his work, what more could he possibly need, a little hope maybe? He was not prepared to stumble upon Harley Hope Masterson.

The last thing Hope needs in her life is a sexy pants doctor coming into the mix to complicate her already complicated life, but she can’t deny the electrifying chemistry that ignites when the two are together.

One of the things I loved most about Hope and Kale was the witty banter and constant flirtatiousness. Hope knew right off the bat that she should not indulge in his sweet and charming sexiness, but sometimes some offers are too good to refuse.

There are so many things that I loved about this story, but the main thing I loved was the beautiful and emotionally driven story about two souls coming together when they least expect it and overcoming the many obstacles life has thrown their way. I loved this story, and to be honest I’m already looking forward to my re-read, because I really want to experience it all over again.

“My heart had always been hung on hope, and I sure wasn’t about to give up then. Not ever.”

If you are looking for a story that will touch both your heart and your soul, then I urge you to one click this one. I cannot wait to read what A.L. Jackson comes out with next.

Follow Me Back is the second book in the Fight for Me series. Amy has picked such a great title for the series because in each book the characters are fighting demons inside and out. In this book we have Kale, who still lives in the past and doesn't want to love again. Hope, hasn't had an easy life as well, is still struggling and has put her life on hold. The moment these two meet the sparks fly and they feel a very strong attraction to each other. However, Hope doesn't have room for a man in her life and shuts Kale's advances down. I was happy about that because one of my pet peeves is when characters end up sleeping together right after they meet (there only has been a couple of times I've let this action slide). Both of them think it's for the best because they don't have time for complications. However, the pull between them is strong and they eventually can't resist one another.

"How is it possible you're standing there? You are magnificent, Kale Bryant. Better than any dream. Better than any fantasy. Inside and out."

Overall, I think Follow Me Back was a nice contemporary romance with a couple of twists. However, there were some things that annoyed me, in particular Kale. Some of his actions felt very selfish and kind of broke my heart as well. I wanted him to man up and to follow his feelings. Hurting the people you love is not the right way to do this. I loved Hope, she was a very strong woman who would do anything for her loved ones, and there is no line she wouldn't cross. I also loved all the secondary characters, especially the children. There were a couple of heartbreaking moments were I had to stay strong and not shed tears. I think the balance between romance, suspense, and heartbreak was just right. It was not my favorite of AL Jackson's books, but I am looking forward to the next one in the series.

Enjoyed Follow me Back much more than I did the first book in the series but oh man, the constant push and pull started to wear on me. Less of that would've made for a much more enjoyable and tighter read instead of going over and over that he couldn't let her in (I'm thinking he was a bit of a wet). If I'm honest that got on my wick a bit because he was still dithering about her past the 80% mark. He seriously needed to either walk away and stay away or grow a pair, instead he jerked her and her kid about way too much.

Wow! And when the book just make you fascinated in the prologue? Already in the first lines we are hooked up to it and this is simply the best type of reading: the one that begins and continues to be good till the end. I have nothing to complain about this. It was a wonderful reading! There is a story that moves us. You can't help but be emocional by everything that happens. I enjoyed the story of Rex (from SHOW ME THE WAY), but Kale's story became my favorite so far.

FOLLOW ME BACK is the second book in the Fight For Me series. This book is so good. So intense. So real. I fell in love with the characters right away. Each chapter my love grew for them. People who carry a huge pain, but who can see the good side of life. Good people and a wonderful heart that all we want is for them to be happy. Kale had already conquered me in the previous book, but here ... wow! I love him even more! What a man!!! I definitely want one for me.

I also love when, even if the story is focused on another couple, the one from the previous book is not forgotten, it's part of the story. It's nice to know what happened to them, how they are living. I loved to see Frankie again. Such an adorable girl!

I always write that I love strong female characters - #GirlPower - and Hope is extremely strong. A person who has gone through so much and still is able to draw strength from I-don't-know-from-where to keep living and taking care of the most important people around her.

Both characters are those who want to give their best to others, but somehow they need a hint to see that love can also be part of their lives. I loved their personality. Their story was gradual, it was difficult because there was resistance due to the past from both sides, however it was natural how everything happened. The two were made for each other.

I loved Kale and Hope, but the best character in this book was Evan. From the first appearance, he got me and didn't let go. Every time he smiled I imagined that smile on my head, you know. That most innocent and real smile in the world. Evan was just perfect!

There was a part of this book that made my heart race so fast, my feelings were everywhere and I couldn't hold it any longer and I cried.

I found the dialogues more natural here than in the first book. I loved the story. Seriously! It was beautiful, emotional, heartbreaking, but also made me fall in love and smile. I couldn't imagine what was waiting for me and I finished with a joy that my first reading of the year has been so beautiful! I highly recommend it and can't wait for Ollie's story.

Wow! Eu curti a história do Rex (de SHOW ME THE WAY), mas a história do Kale me pegou de jeito e se tornou minha favorita até agora.

FOLLOW ME BACK é o segundo livro da serie Fight For Me.

Amei rever a Frankie.

Amei a história.

Oh how I love AL Jackson’s heroes and how she knows how to keep you on tender hooks throughout her reads. And this is no different..

Kane is a paediatric doctor but he’s also a broken man if there ever was. He lives for his patients, his family and he enjoys women when he gets the chance but really he doesn’t get close. That is until he bumps into Hope on a night out and just can’t get her out of his head.

Hope though has too much to risk by letting a dominant male into her life when she lives for one little boy that loves HARD. Hope has a son and with that are many complications..

I am not going to delve anymore into this story as you need to go in blind. What I will say is that Kane is sex on a stick LOL he is dominant but he’s also got a big heart and needs to learn to be loved again. The same goes for Hope, she has everything going against her but sometimes you just need to just do something for yourself every so often right? I fell HARD for all the characters in this story. And especially Evan who will melt your heart and make you hold your hand right over it many a time.

I really enjoyed reading how this unfolded, I sure was worried at times too but this is the kind of read that gets warmer and softer the more you read. It is bottom line about family and about learning to Live another fab read from Amy..

Enjoy Xoxo

*SPOILER-FREE REVIEW*

Welcome back to Gingham Lakes, where the men are hot and their women are a force to be reckoned with...

It’s right there, in Gingham Lakes, where Dr. Kale Bryant resides, unwavering in his resolve to make a difference. And just a short distance from where he practices, A Drop of Hope owner—Harley Hope Masterson—serves up coffee with a side of sweet optimism and feisty determination.

Dedicated doctor by day, panty-melting sex god by night, Kale Bryant is the ideal embodiment of the perfect book boyfriend, owning the very definition of “swoon-worthy.” He’s both “pin you up against a wall” sexy and “sweep you off your feet” charming. And if those qualities aren't already enough to seal the deal, Kale is also incredibly sweet and caring. Because as you'll soon discover—and as Hope’s best friend Jenna likes to point out—this sexy, charming doctor (aka, Sir Bryant) “bought All. The. Lollipops.” TWICE! :)

Hope Masterson’s life is full of complications. And the very last thing she needs is Kale Bryant—with his seductive smile and charismatic personality—complicating her life even further. Still, she can’t deny the energy that pulses through her every time he enters her shop. Easily drawn into his flirtatious banter, Hope clearly enjoys her playful sparring with Kale. So when Kale offers Hope a night free of all her “complications,” she hesitantly accepts, allowing herself the freedom to enjoy “just one night.”

For Kale, one night—one taste—had him craving a whole lot more. And for Hope, her one night with Kale had her wishing for things that just could never be. Still, neither he nor Hope could have foreseen the ensuing complications hovering on the horizon. But the pull towards something more, had this pair shoving all complications and worries aside. And their resulting union was nothing short of explosive.

“Even hope needs a hero.” And Kale stepped easily into that role. Fueled by his strength of character, Kale resolved to save his princess from the evil villain out destroy her good. But even seemingly perfect heroes have their flaws. For Kale, it was the truth that became his kryptonite, weakening his efforts to save Hope and all that she holds dear.

In this second installment to author AL Jackson’s Fight for Me series, “Follow Me Back” is a beautifully crafted, emotionally charged story that will touch your heart in ways you won’t soon forget. Written as a stand-alone, Kale and Hope’s compelling story also introduces new characters Evan and Jenna, who are warm, funny and utterly endearing. No doubt, they will make you smile, they will make you laugh, and they will most certainly make you cry. And as for Kale and Hope... their perfectly imperfect romance is EXACTLY what sexy, modern-day fairytales are made of!

My thanks to AL Jackson for breathing life into Kale’s story in such a uniquely beautiful way and for delivering a “swoon-worthy” character that was once only a faceless, nameless fantasy residing inside my head. I can't wait to discover what this author has planned for Ollie. For it seems that with each book in this series, the men of Gingham Lakes just get hotter and more enticing.

Long. Way too long for a simple story like this. This book like the previous one is a feast of poetic, dramatic words of Miss Jackson. Dramatic, poetic, ballads words that is all about this book. It is sadly not accompany by solid story. Oh and it is too cheesy for my taste.

I have hit and miss with Miss Jackson's works. Sometimes I do enjoy it, sometimes I can not find anything that I like. I want more solid story. More twist and plot. More complicated characters. I am struggle to finish this book.

Overall, I do not enjoy this book.

3 Kale and Hope Stars

I think A.L.Jackson writes brilliant heroines and children. I loved Rynna and Frankie in the earlier book and this novel introduces Harley Hope Masterson and her gorgeous little 8 yr old boy Evan. Hope is the woman who catches the eye of the handsome Doctor Kale Bryant - close friend of Rex Gunner in the previous book.

I enjoyed watching their relationship develop and seeing the eternal bachelor fall for the beautiful Ms Masterson and her little boy. I thought the drama was well written for the most part. The downside for me was how Kale so easily walked away from them after promising he was there for the long haul. I get that he was tortured by grief and clearly kept having awful flashbacks, but honestly, I never sensed a really strong bond between him and Melody, his first girlfriend. It felt like his reaction to what happened to her was a bit over the top in that he just wouldn't / couldn't let it go. Maybe I am being callous but it didn't sit so well with me.

Evan and his Mum , Hope were my favourite characters by a long shot.

This was an enjoyable book but it didn't grab me as much as I thought it would. I will definitely be reading the next novel though. Ollie's story beckons....

HEA? Yes (I wanted Hope to make him grovel more but she is a very sweet character so that probably would not work)
Cheating? No
Trigger? Domestic Abuse.

Everyone told me Follow Me Back was a gut-wrenching tearjerker, but it just didn’t move me the way it evidently did others. That’s not to say I didn’t enjoy it, because I did.

Without a doubt, the strongest aspect of this story is Hope with her fierce devotion and faith. Kale is a dedicated doctor and cocky devout bachelor. Let’s just pause right here to reflect on this character’s name. Kale. For real? Who names their child after a leafy green vegetable? Either a health freak, a sadist, or one of those pretentious celebrities who names their kid Apple, Sir, Saint, Fuschia (all real names, BTW), or some other ridiculous name that will surely get them teased at school. It was super hard for me to get over his name, but Kale melted my heart once he lets his guard down and his huge heart shines through. His reasons for rejecting romantic relationships, though, felt too flimsy to sustain the conflict throughout the book. Hope also makes some confusing choices for such a strong, smart woman.

Even though I didn’t find myself reaching for the Kleenex, the story is touching and should feed the need for those looking for many Hallmark-worthy moments.

Beautiful, emotional, gut-wrenching, sexy as hell... It's classic A.L. Jackson with the lyrical writing and all the angst and longing for more.

I loved Hope with her devotion to her son fighting with her desire for Dr. Bryant, and Dr. Kale Bryant (aka, Cowboy, Knight, Sex on a stick) is one luscious, damaged, sexy man ready to be their hero.

I devoured this gorgeous book. Don't miss it--a five-star, must-read!

❤~🌟~❤4 MIRACULOUS STARS! ❤~🌟~❤

“Sometimes even Hope needed a Hero!”

Fairytales come in many forms, and in FOLLOW ME BACK, A.L. Jackson spins an achingly beautiful, LIFE AFFIRMING love story, featuring a gorgeously broody “Knight” who has no intention of riding off into the sunset until a flame-haired “Princess” and her remarkable little boy resuscitate his jaded heart!

THE STORY:
Two kindred spirits collide the moment arrogantly sexy MD Kale Bryant lays his eyes on the stunningly beautiful Harley Hope Masterson during a night of revelry at Ollie’s bar to celebrate his new position at Gingham Lakes Children’s Center. Something draws him inexorably toward the shy, sweet redhead, and although both have complicated, stressful lives and neither is in the market for a romantic entanglement, their magnetic attraction CANNOT. BE. DENIED.

Even though at first Hope seems immune to Kale's smoldering charm and shoots him down when he asks her out, she can only resist for so long. And eeep…he feels like the KING OF THE CASTLE when she finally allows him to “rescue” her for one night only! But after their lips lock in a toe-curling kiss and they share a moment of explosive passion, it’s clear that one night together will never be enough! But the consequences of surrendering to their hearts’ desires could be CATASTROPHIC!!

MY THOUGHTS:
I was spellbound by FOLLOW ME BACK, the second unforgettable novel in the A.L. Jackson’s Fight for Me series! Set in the quaint town Gingham Falls, AL, these loosely connected books follow the trials and tribulations of a close-knit group of boyhood chums who are tethered together by friendship, fierce loyalty and an unspeakable tragedy that forever altered their lives.

This new standalone is a beautiful woven tale that literally left me breathless! It’s chock full of captivating romance, heartwrenching angst, juicy drama, fun, flirty banter, and delicious, slow simmering passion! Although FOLLOW ME BACK is NOT a whimsical romance filled with butterflies and rainbows—it's REAL and RAW and there are some gut-churning twists that nearly brought me to my knees—through the sheer majesty of A.L. Jackson’s gorgeously lyrical words, I felt it ALL! . Love. Lust. Anger. Heartbreak. Aching Tenderness. Soul-Shattering Betrayal. Paralyzing Fear...the list goes on!

The character craftsmanship was beyond amazing! Starting of course, with our hero. Blond, blue-eyed, powerfully ripped and gorgeously chiseled, Kale Bryant had me coveting a “Sir Bryant” of my OWN to sweep me off my feet! I adored everything about this debonair MD--his filthy-hot mouth, his sexy swagger, his cocky confidence, his “huge, beautiful, bleeding heart.” This caring pediatrician has not only dedicated his life to healing sick kids, but he dotes shamelessly on his godkids and his sweet, tender bond with the heroine’s little boy is guaranteed to make your ovaries COMBUST!

And of course, it would not be an A.L. Jackson book if said BBF was terribly tortured! In Kale's case, he never recovered from loss of his first love and is weighed down by crippling guilt and regret for his inability to save her. But when the battle-scarred doc meets Harley Hope she knocks the breath out of him! Petite and delicate, “she was all feisty fire and soft-spoken uncertainty,” and although he is utterly petrified of history repeating itself, and failing Hope and her precious little boy, they make him want to slay every dragon on their behalf!

As for Hope, what a REMARKABLE heroine! You can’t help but root for this sweet and loving, self-sacrificing and brave young woman who runs a quaint little bakery/coffee shop, aptly named A Drop of Hope, while raising her special needs son Evan, all by her lonesome. She is going through a nasty divorce but she refuses to let her child be collateral damage, and as this ferociously protective mama bear braces for the greatest fight of her life, her unfaltering love and devotion toward her son is beyond breathtaking!

After all she’s been through, Hope does not trust easily but Kale was pure sin and seduction, wrapped up in one gorgeously arrogant package, and she fell fast and hard for “that smirk and that smile and those tender eyes.” He made her feel special. Wanted. Like a bona fide Princess. And HOLY EFFIN SWOON…the way he stepped up the plate for her little man , who gazed upon him with pure hero-worship, anointed him to FULL KNIGHT STATUS in her eyes!

And OMG Evan!! Jackson writes the cutest kids I have probably EVER read, and Hope’s little “miracle boy” just DECIMATED! On the surface he may appear fragile and breakable, but this remarkably stalwart little man is unstoppable! Gah! The way his spirit shines so impossibly bright despite all his hardships is absolutely awe-inspiring!

So, after all these glowing accolades, why four stars instead of five? Because as deeply as I felt for this hero, Kale's actions in the last third seemed out of character for this noble-hearted M.D. To be fair, I kind of got where he was coming from, but his final grand gesture of “self-preservation” just CRUSHED me and ultimately left me feeling a bit…..hallow. And I’m not sure what purpose it really served other than to make me want to hurl my kindle AND unnecessarily drag out the drama for a few more chapters! Bottom line? I wish Kale had come to his big epiphany sooner without having to shatter so many hearts—mine included!--in the process.

That said, I will give the author HUGE PROPS for making things right in the end, with a big, grandiose romantic reunion that had me WEEPING WITH JOY!

FINAL IMPRESSIONS:
FOLLOW ME BACK is a RESPLENDENT novel that made me believe in the possibility of fairytale wishes coming true and had me REJOICING in what truly matters in life. Love. Family. Friendship. Faith. And hanging your heart on hope…against all odds!

AL Jackson has been one of my favorite authors for some time, and this book just proves to me why, and cements the fact she won’t be dropping from that spot any time soon.

After reading the first book in this series, I was left wondering about Kale Bryant and wanting to know more about him. He seemed this cocky man, always ready with a wide smile. And he was. He lived his life for his job and his friends who became his family, finding comfort in one bed or another when the need arose. That is, until he saw Hope Masterson.

Kale and Hope were drawn to one another, their connection immediate and profound. Their story was wonderful, made even more so by the addition of Hope’s little boy, Evan.

This kid. Gah! I wanted to wrap him up in my arms and hold him tight. He was joy, head to toe. A wide smile and pure innocence. I fell in love with him even faster than I did Kale and Hope. I have always loved the way Jackson writes kids, but Evan stole the cake. I was in tears over his story, and looked forward to reading about the kid as much as I wanted to read the rest of the story.

This house is LOVE ❤️

Kale coming into their lives, and them into his, was fate. It was what they all needed, and the way it was told was devastatingly beautiful. If I could give this book 10 Stars, I would.

5 Perfectly Chaotic CROWNS

Perfect. Perfect. Perfect. Completely and utterly perfect. A.L. Jackson is the queen of pulling on my heartstrings and making me melt where I stand.

All of these characters, every single one (well, except for the antagonist. I wanted to throat punch him several times) is so worthy of happiness. Kale with his big heart and exceptional spirit and Hope with her endless capacity to sacrifice and love, are both so deserving of the HEA they work so hard for in this novel.

While the characters themselves are fantastic, the story is what will hook you. As with her other series, her characters, particularly the heroes, are seeking redemption for real or imagined past mistakes, and Kale is his biggest critic. But the more time readers spend with him and see him interact with the other characters, the more we see how he doesn’t have a clear picture of himself. He is weighing himself down, refusing to acknowledge his right to love and happiness. Hope is truly in the fight of her life, and her hurt becomes yours because woman will connect to that fight. I got it, every emotion, every heartbreak. These two together, though, are stronger, and we yearn for them to recognize that.

As always, the writing and story-telling is flawless. The pacing is brilliant, the backstory creates allegiance to the H/h, and the conflict is not one I saw coming. It checks all of my romantic boxes, and it is my favorite of the series, maybe of all her books!

Follow Me Back is the epitome of what a romance should be. It is sweet, heartbreaking, healing, and most of all, it shows us that everyone is worthy of love.

Favorite Quotes:

So what if Pinterest had become my lover, keeping me company in the lonely nights.

The kid was a force field of joy.

Someone please tell me this is where we get to call the wanker names and talk about how horrible he is in bed and how his breath always stinks.

Of course, I’m responsible. I’m head matchmaker. I just walk through a crowd and all those love-connecting darts start flying out of me, striking whoever I walk by.

You set me on a path that I don’t want to stop walking. I will follow you anywhere.

My Review:

Sizzling sensuality, cute scene-stealing children, heart squeezing medical issues and an overriding tone of heavily emotive and angsty writing define this story. The premise and storylines were interesting and relevant and the characters were endearing and likable, but I struggled more than bit some while reading this book as there was far more repetitive angsty melodrama than I was comfortable with, but that is just my personal bias. I enjoyed Hope and Kale’s sweet and steamy romance until he apparently caught jaundice as he turned yellow with cowardice and abandoned her, not once but twice, especially during a harrowing period when she needed emotional support the most, which was deeply disappointing.

As always, Ms. Jackson’s writing was highly emotive, poignant, and pulls at the heartstrings while her more irreverent characters and the precocious children provided comic relief and amusing banter to help balance the tone. And I am happy to report that I learned a new pop culture reference that required the services of Mr. Google – “brown chicken brown cow.” It is always a good day when I can boast of acquisition of new knowledge.

I have always loved the way that A.L Jackson writes. Her stories are real, emotional, and angsty! I enjoy the build up, the simmer, the burn that she makes her readers feel. This one was no different. I am a total sucker for damaged characters. I feel their anguish and pain, it makes it more realistic to me.

I was instantly intrigued by Kale Bryant when we met him in Show Me The Way. He piqued my interest, to say the least. He is passionate about his job, friends, and generally just helping others. He is an all around great guy, has no interest in a relationship, just the occasional one night stand. I instantly got the feeling that he was guarding his heart, and felt undeserving of finding love and happiness within a relationship.

"Potent. Powerful. Persuasive. That was what the man looked like. Persuasion and dominance. He looked like discord. Chaos with an easy, arrogant smile. A perfect, controlled disorder."

Hope Masterson is the epitome of a hard working and loving mom. I was cheering so hard for her in my head. She has been burned badly, and trust does not come easily for her. Some of the issues that she had to overcome as a parent, was a lot for anyone to take on. She never lets this stand in the way of showing her son, Evan, how far she will go to be there for him, and love him unconditionally.

"This woman was a vision. The kind of face that hit me right in the gut. Because there was no question she was stunning. But it was the sheer goodness radiating from underneath that absolutely made her glow."

The chemistry, a charged spark was instant between Kale and Hope. Neither one of them was expecting or looking for this. And neither of them felt deserving of the other. There was times, I wish that I could have reached out and gave them both a good shaking, and say, just take a chance, go ahead and jump. But in true A.L Jackson form she made me want to scream, before she finally pieced me back together.

"Fear never negates hope. It just means we want something badly enough that we're terrified we might not get to keep it."

She has a wonderful ability to write children so realistically, that you can't help but fall in love with them. And if I am completely honest, Hope's son-Evan stole my heart. I have never loved a child in a book, like I did him.

4.5🌟
