Ever been looking for a Bible and been surprised to find there is more than one option? Perhaps you have been trying to share the gospel news of Jesus Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection and had someone ask why they should believe the Bible when all the different versions disagree. You may have even started training to become a pastor or missionary, and during your classes you have begun to wonder if you can really trust the Bible at all, especially in your own language. This book is for you.The Book of Proverbs give us insight into God’s perspective on his Word and how he intends us to handle 22:20 Have not I written to thee excellent things in counsels and knowledge, 21 That I might make thee know the certainty of the words of truth; that thou mightest answer the words of truth to them that send unto thee?Whether you are new to the Bible or have been studying it for a lifetime, Long Live the King James will increase your understanding on how God has preserved His words. You will gain certainty that you can hold absolute truth in your hands and be prepared when debates of the history and scholarship of the Bible arise. Most importantly, Long Live the King James is a help in trusting that God has kept his promises to preserve his words—down to the very letter—so we can confidently believe on and obey the Lord Jesus Christ.
Excellent newer book (2023) on the subject of the King James Bible and why we can confidently trust that we "with certainty" have the perfect, pure word of God in the English language by way of the King James.
I tire of the diatribe of many of my brethren who have "gotten over" the King James due to its language. Personally, the more I read widely, the more I appreciate the depth and beauty of the language of the King James. Not only is its English impeccable, I personally believe it has been preserved, of God, without error.
This book will give you an ample supply of well-reasoned thoughts, facts, and doctrine regarding why the authors believe why the King James Bible is the very word of God for English-speaking people.
Why not five stars? For some reason, there are many who have a firm belief in the King James as the very word of God but feel like they have to be snarky in their line of reasoning when defending or teaching on the subject. While these authors definitely did not rise to the level of some material I have read in this vein, there were a few times I cringed at their choice of wording. Having said that, the subject material is solid and I highly recommend the book.
This book cleared up a lot of questions I had regarding how the Bible came to be and helped ground my faith even more. I appreciated how much everything was laid out from the historical aspect to the faith filled side of things as well
A somewhat complex topic explained in easy to understand terms, well researched and documented, and provides a very powerful understanding of the history of translations and textual criticism as a whole and specifically for the King James translation of the words of God. The bibliography for this book is also a great reference for further reading, research, and study.
