"The Grand Illusion" (TGI) synthesizes the paranormal with today's hard science, seeking to initiate a dramatic reempowering of humanity. You'll no longer consider yourself just a powerless little "meat computer" destined for total annihilation at life's biological end; that outmoded worldview is firmly buried by the material set out within.
Here, new and expansive vistas of possibility are laid bare; the forces and energies produced by our consciousness that act on the world around us are blown open for your understanding. Did you know that modern neuroscience considers the brain as a "receiver" of consciousness rather than the "generator" of it? Get ready for an introduction to the mysterious "fifth force" known to science-a virtually unshieldable "carrier wave" of consciousness that can travel at speeds far exceeding light.
With the knowledge that we are incredible and immortal spiritual beings temporarily inhabiting a dream-like, multidimensional, holographic reality, we can indeed begin to turn life on this planet-which, for many, is a virtual nightmare-into "The Grand Illusion."
Are you ready to meet yourself?
"A masterpiece. If "The Grand Illusion" were merely paradigm-destroying, which it certainly is for rearguard scientific 'Funda-materialists, ' it would be a satisfying read. Fortunately, for those of us dedicated to establishing a new civilization of consciousness, Brendan Murphy's fascinating, inspiring and seminal work also opens the door to a world of new creative possibilities. ... "The Grand Illusion" is mind-blowing."
A masterpiece. If THE GRAND ILLUSION were merely paradigm-destroying, which it certainly is for rearguard scientific "Funda-materialists," it would be a satisfying read. Fortunately, for those of us dedicated to establishing a new civilization of consciousness, Brendan Murphy’s fascinating, inspiring and seminal work also opens the door to a world of new creative possibilities. If David Wilcock’s THE SOURCE FIELD INVESTIGATIONS was mind-expanding, THE GRAND ILLUSION is mind-blowing.
A thoroughly researched and meticulously collated thesis on the congruence between science and spirituality which has been seemingly obfuscated in the modern world. There is so much packed into this book that it would require multiple readings to fully comprehend the science (and "beyond-science") contained within and to appreciate the significance of the implications of its findings.
The book covers topics such as quantum mechanics, the human bio-field and telepathy but it isn't just abstract theory. These topics are accompanied with real-life examples of people throughout history who have demonstrated these so-called "paranormal" abilities and others who have scientifically validated their existence. By the end of the book, you find yourself asking inquisitively: "Which aspects of reality are actually well within the realm of possibility in the human experience and which are excluded? Do I know that for certain?"
One would not be irrational to draw the conclusion that a certain guiding hand has deliberately obscured these aspects from the general understanding of the world in which we live, considering how this awareness would radically change said world. It certainly opens the mind to possibilities heretofore not even considered and, in some cases, even vehemently denounced by the institution of "Scientism", which does not engage in real science but is a dogmatic belief system like any other.
The Grand Illusion has certainly opened my mind about science and spirituality. I am keenly looking forward to the sequel!
Very interesting and an amazing introduction to the verification of the Vedic world-view (all existence is a manifestation of an underlying unmanifest field, and our consciousness can be tuned to interact with this field, giving us direct knowledge of anything we desire to know or create) even though I found some passages a bit tedious through long quotations of various research. Brendan is certainly well read, and it would take a year to follow up all the references.
A challenging and enlightening read for somebody new to the concepts and ideas in this book. Nonetheless a brilliant and thorough introduction. Bring on TGI2.
You don't have to get very far into this book to know the author has put together a vast and thorough resource delving into all things paranormal (a term the author would like to say is actually normal). The subjects range from looking at who we are and of what we are made, to specific psi skills. It offers something for everyone interested. If you hold a belief there's been little scientific investigation into the paranormal, you'll find out that's an illusion. If you want to begin to grasp the relationship between the latest scientific research into quantum theory and ancient knowledge from esoteric traditions, it's all here. If you want to use this work as a springboard for deeper research into a specific topic, say micro psi, the massive bibliography is a great starting point.
