5 Star Review Sawyer (The Stewarts of Skagway #4) by Katy Regnery
It was great being back in Skagway and Dyea, Alaska with descriptive writing that helped me to visualise whilst reading.
This is Sawyer Stewart and Ivy Caswell’s story and it was a great addition to the series. From the first chapter I was drawn into the story that Ms. Regnery wove.
I love second chance at love stories and this one certainly is a good example of the genre.
Will they take a chance and in doing so fi d lasting happiness? One click and find out.
I love this series. And each story is just perfect. Ivy and (especially) Sawyer stole my heart. Can this small town series get any better? 2 books to go and it has to be my favorite small town romance series of the year. Oh yes, also loved the whole Wuthering Heights sub plot. That was brilliant. 5 stars
Ivy is back in town, and Sawyer can hardly believe his eyes. They were childhood friends during the summers and then they became more one summer. Ivy got engaged last year, though, and Sawyer hasn't spoken to her since then. Now she is back to take care of her sick aunt. Sawyer decides to try out for the community theater to spend time with her, and they get cast as Catherine and Heathcliff. I have never cared for Wuthering Heights, but Ms. Regnery uses it to good effect in this book. Both Sawyer and Ivy consider how their story is similar to the play, and their performances are very emotional. I could hardly put the book down. This is my favorite of the series so far.
Every time I read a book about this family I end up loving them more than I did last time I read about them. I loved how close they all are, how they don't hesitate to have each others back. They are an amazing example of how families should be.
From the beginning I really liked Sawyer and Ivy. Them being really good friends just made their connection and chemistry that much more intense. They had my head spinning cause in every interaction i wanted them to give in to get together but at the same time I didn't want her to cheat😭. I loved that they did take their time though. I was slow paced which gave them time to resolve everything they had going on. It also made them fall even deeper in love with one another.
I felt bad for Ivy the entire book. She just wants to be loved, she wants her fathers approval and all she's gotten was hurt and used. Sawyer and Skagway were exactly what she needed. Sawyer, his family, her family in Skagway showed her how much they loved her without wanted anything in return. They showed her how good life can actually be.
I've never in my life been interested in reading Wuthering Heights nor did I know anything about it. The way the author added the play to the book while making Sawyer and Ivys story a parallel of the play was AMAZING. I was learning what the play was about while getting a real example of it.
One of my favorite things this author does is that they set up the next book perfectly while giving us a good story about another couple. It just makes me even more interested and desperate to get my hands on the next book of the series.
4.25 stars!! I ABSOLUTELY love childhood friends to romance books! Getting the glimpses of Sawyer and Ivy from when they first met as kids, through the teenage years, to adulthood captured their bond for each other! I also LOVED the play woven throughout! The small town feel and atmosphere could be felt while reading and the story flowed perfectly!
Ivy’s circumstances made me sad/mad for her so many times! She was such a strong person to deal with it all!
Sawyer was just a great guy all around! I loved everything about him! The glimpses of his siblings/family and their interactions/close bond were everything and cemented why/how he became so great!
This is part of a series but I felt like you could read as a standalone, and you’d definitely want to catch up on the series, after getting glimpses of the other siblings!
FAV QUOTES: “But having a complicated past with someone binds you to them in ways you don’t necessarily want or like…”. Sawyer
“Besides, I’m a realist. I know that no marriage is perfect; they just exist in degrees of imperfection.” Ivy
“Prioritizing the people you love is never the wrong move.” Sawyer
“Hearts have been mended. Love has been made. Promises, too.” Ivy
Thank you to the author and publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review!
Sawyer is the fourth book in the Stewarts of Skagway series by Katy Regnery, but can be read as a stand-alone. It's a second-chance romance, and it was so good! I loved all the angst and drama in this one. This one features Sawyer Stewart (of course!) and Ivy, who has been visiting with her aunt and uncle every summer since she was 8 or 9. Sawyer and Ivy became fast friends, but when they were in their mid-teens, it turned into more. Now they're 22 or 23, but Ivy's engaged to her college boyfriend. The story was so realistic, which I always appreciate, and I love how this author can make you feel the emotions of the characters so deeply. This one is a must-read and highly recommended with more than five stars!
I had so much hope for this family saga but it’s falling flat for me each book after the first two honestly.
I found Ivy a bit immature and dishonest. I understand that she is younger and still finding herself but she just was too timid for me to connect with.
Sawyer is a great character and I really wanted to love his book. He says and does swoony things that are book boyfriend worthy for sure.
Overall, it was good but not my favorite of the series.

🇺🇸*Sawyer* by Katy Regnery is a book that I believe will resonate with a lot of readers. It has a sweet charm, and the small-town setting combined with the second-chance romance vibe is absolutely spot on. The atmosphere is cozy and nostalgic, which will likely appeal to fans of heartwarming, feel-good stories.
However, I have to admit that I’m a bit disappointed. Sawyer was the character I had been eagerly waiting for since book one, and I had high hopes for his story. Unfortunately, the book felt like it only skimmed the surface of what could have been a deeper, more emotional journey. There was so much potential to explore Sawyer’s character more fully, but it didn’t quite go as deep as I had hoped. It left me wanting more, especially given how much anticipation had built up around him.
That said, I’m sure there are readers who will love the sweetness and simplicity of this story. It just didn’t hit the mark for me the way I expected.

I enjoyed reading this fourth book, in this series. It's a well written storyline and the chemistry between the characters is amazing. I can't wait to read more from this author. I received this book as a Free ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
Sawyer is book 4 in the Stewarts of Skagway series and we get to revisit a classic, Wuthering Heights.
Sawyer opens with him doing a double take thinking he saw his former lover, Ivy, walking down the street. But when he looks again, she is not there. So he thinks he just imagined it. Until he enters the market to pick up the groceries that gran sent him for.
Ivy has always come to Skagway for the summer, but has always left at the end of August to go back to Fairbanks. So why is she here now, in the off season?
Ivy came to Skagway to help her aunt and uncle with the girls while her aunt, Priscilla, goes through chemo. Unfortunately, her cousin, Jenny, gives her grief over everything. So when she runs in to Sawyer at the market, she just wants to get the ice cream and leave.
But on her way out of the market, she sees a sign, with a pull tab, on the bulletin board for auditions for the holiday play. This year it will be an adaptation of Wuthering Heights. She loves this story, so she grabs a pull tab.
Sawyer is watching as she leaves and sees her grab something off of the bulletin board. On his way out, he stops there and deduces what she was interested in. He decides to also go to the auditions. He thinks he can be a tree (see me laughing like a hyena). To prepare, he reads the book so he knows what the story is about.
At the auditions, Ivy and Sawyer are paired up to read for Cathy and Heathcliff. Their performance is so real, that they are immediately cast in those roles. Little does everyone know, the story of Heathcliff and Cathy closely mirrors their past.
Throughout rehearsals, fundraisers, and everyday life, Ivy and Sawyer get to know more about each other and what values they share. So when Ivy's life blows sky high, Sawyer will be the one to put her back together. Yes, it will also take her aunt and uncle, but he is the one who knows her best.
I must admit, I despise Ivy's father. How she turned out so good and loving is amazing considering how she was raised. I also fell in love with her aunt and uncle. Without them, and their love every summer, I am not sure she would have turned out so loving. I really hope karma bites her father in his rich man's booty.
This is the fourth book in the 'THE STEWARTS OF SKAGWAY SERIES' set against the backdrop of the beautiful Alaskan wilderness. There are six Stewart siblings where everyone's got their own book and story. The main characters in this book are Sawyer Stewart and Ivy Caswell. In the previous book we got to know that Sawyer was all heartbroken over a girl, well that girl is Ivy who's now back in Skagway that too in the off season which is out of the ordinary for her.
Ivy lives in Fairbank but she also spends her summers in Skagway with her Uncle and Aunt since she was 8 years old. She met Sawyer when they were kids and every summer they spent their time together until one summer when they all grew up. They were best friends first then they became infatuated with each other and the one summer things got complicated.
Sawyer always knew he had feelings for Ivy so when one summer she suggested to be friends with benefits and to not get serious he agreed only thinking that maybe he'd be able to persuade her into something more or even to confess the true feelings. But that never happened and she left without saying goodbye. Now she's engaged and back in the town because her aunt is going through the chemo sessions and needs help.
While in Skagway Ivy enlists herself into a play on 'Wuthering Heights' as she loves theatre. Sawyer grabbing the opportunity to be close to her also enlists himself in that play. They both got the role of the MCs 'Heathcliff and Catherine' and the irony wasn't lost on them.
Well the play was the main highlight of the book for me. I loved the chemistry they had and the ease of conversation with each other. Since it's an ARC I won't blow the whistle but it's also released today so go and grab your copies. The book is a lot more about Ivy being a single child from a loveless marriage, insecurities, abandonment issues by both the parents and an infidel fiance.
There are still two more siblings left and I'm really looking forward to reading their books as well. This series is a good series and it makes you feel warm. It does to me all the time.
PS: Thank you katyregnery and greyspromo for the ARC.
This is book four in The Stewarts of Skagway and it is Sawyer and Ivy’s story and omg it is definitely a must read. Sawyer and Ivy have history because they had hook ups during the summer when Ivy was visiting so now everything between them had just become even more complicated. Ivy is from a wealthy family and also engaged to the governor's son making them a perfect match according to her father but when her aunt and uncle needs help with a family matter Ivy decides to go to Skagway to help them at this difficult time but when she gets a bit bored she decides to audition for the local production of Wuthering Heights and is so pleased when she gets the part she wanted of Cathy but imagine her surprise when Sawyer gets the part of Heathcliff and will be performing opposite her making everything complicated. Sawyer had become best friends with Ivy from a young age when she used to visit her aunt and uncle and then it turned into so much more and they kept in touch with each other until she got engaged to her college boyfriend which made Sawyer pull back even though he was in love with her but he realised that she didn’t feel the same way so when he saw her again he realised that he wanted to hopefully get a second chance with her if possible. When Ivy’s life completely explodes and falls apart it was Sawyer who steps forward and be there for her to help her pick up the pieces of her life while supporting her and the more time time that they spend together the more they learn about each other and how in tune they really are and then you find yourself hoping that they get the second chance that they both want and deserve after everything that they have both been through. I absolutely loved Sawyer and Ivy together and how they grew into the people they became and how strong their connection and love for each other was. This story pulled you in and kept your attention throughout and the description and scenery surrounding Skagway made you feel like you were there living and feeling all of it and I can’t wait to read the next book in this beautiful and amazing series.
I'm blown away how Katy Regnery ups the emotions, ups the love, and ups the overall greatness of her series each and every time. I have once again fallen in deep, ever-lasting love with another Stewart. Yes, Sawyer has run away with my heart and he is welcome to keep it forever.
Sawyer Stewart is the youngest son, and I don't know if that is what makes him so sweet, smart, and deeply connected to his emotions, but he is tuned into those around him and very aware of all of his siblings and what is happening within their lives. He is also sooooo in love with Ivy Caswell that it was sometimes painful to know that it was a bit unrequited, but like the great state of Alaska, he's hearty and never gives up on winning her over.
Sawyer has a resounding faith in himself, something that Ivy deeply needs as we get to know her, and it's the sweet confidence that he has for the both of them that drove this book and truly made this story a gem to read. It's that confidence that has him signing up for the local theater production of "Wuthering Heights" so he can be close to Ivy even though he's never acted a day in his life. I loved that this book brought some great literature into the pages. The fact that these two were acting out literature that was eerily similar to their own lives was wonderful.
I will admit that Ivy took a few chapters to ease into. She comes into the story already engaged, with a haughty air about her that does slowly lower the more her story gets uncovered, but I was fully entrenched in the Sawyer camp and feeling all of his feelings before I could open up to her. It's truly because of Sawyer's ever lasting faith and belief in their love that I too fell for her. I tell you, these Stewart men, once they fall, these men are all in.
Don't miss this installment of the Stewart family because Sawyer is a beautiful read.
Sawyer is book four in Katy Regnery's The Stewarts of Skagway series, which is set in the small Alaskan town of Dyea and city of Skagway. At twenty-two, Sawyer Stewart is the second youngest among the siblings, and happily partakes in the family business. He doesn't have all the much to complain about; he lives a good life, has a family who loves him and whom he loves, and is part of a community that supports one another. Crossing paths with Ivy Caswell, however, serves as a reminder of what he lost, not that he had much say in the events that followed a summer he hoped would lead to more. From friends, they became lovers after she had broken things off with her cheating ex. That summer meant the world to him, but when Ivy upped and disappeared and proceeded to ghost him, only to learn that she had gone back to her boyfriend, Sawyer was hurt and angry. More than a year later, she's back in Skagway to help care for her ailing aunt, and with them spending time together on a stage adaptation of Emily Brontë's Wuthering Heights, maybe it'll provide some closure or a rekindling of a love once stalled.
In the first few pages of this book, I found myself not having that high of an opinion of Ivy, especially given how she decided to end things with Sawyer. There were bits and pieces of her that reminded me of Catherine Earnshaw, the female main character from Wuthering Heights and who I have mixed feelings towards. Now, Sawyer was no Heathcliff, and there were no deaths in this fourth Stewarts of Skagway installment. As expected, this ends happily, and I did grow to have a better understanding of Ivy, thus leading a more informed appreciation of her motivations and character development. Sawyer was a young man whose heart was all about family, community, and Ivy, and I admired his patience and perseverance. Aside from the second chance romance, which I very much enjoyed, Ivy finding herself and what gave her true purpose was probably my favorite thing about the book. I also think there was a resolution to her relationship with her father, and it's a reminder that peace of mind is just as important as happiness. Sawyer turned out to be the balm to my soul that I didn't know I needed an gets five stars.
I love how well the author captured an Alaskan community in the off-season when there are no tourists, and the permanent residents come together. Ivy spent summers with an aunt and uncle in Skagway while she was growing up instead of in Juneau after her mother had abandoned their family. Ivy's father was rich, powerful and uncaring but Ivy’s aunt and uncle in Skagway made her feel loved. She also became close friends with Sawyer during her summer visits to Skagway, as they both grew up. Eventually Ivy went off to college and got engaged to the Lt. Governor’s son. Sawyer stayed in Skagway with his large, loving family, and chose to skip college. He worked as a tour guide during the summer season, among other jobs. When Ivy’s aunt was diagnosed with cancer, Ivy passed up an internship to return to Skagway to help while her aunt was undergoing treatment. Ivy believes she had always been honest with Sawyer about their friendship being casual, even during the summer they became friends with benefits. Ivy has also convinced herself that Sawyer isn’t at the same level as her, either academically or socially. Sawyer is actually a great guy who has loved Ivy practically from their first meeting as children. After these characters cross paths again, they're soon spending time together rehearsing for a community theatre production of Wuthering Heights that echoes their own connection. Ivy grows more self-awareness as Sawyer tries to deal with his feelings for her. This book had both the sweetness of a first love and adult heat. I don’t usually enjoy stories with young (early 20’s) characters, but I found myself really rooting for Ivy and Sawyer to get a HEA. Now I can’t wait to read more of the Stewart family series! This author is really great at storytelling. I received an advance copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Sawyer by Katy Regnery, book four in the Stewarts of Skagway series, is a charming, entertaining, second-chance romance for Sawyer and Ivy. Sawyer has lived his entire life in Skagway, working with his family. Ivy spent her summers with her uncle and his family in the seasonally busy town before returning to her lonely life in her wealthy father’s home. These two were childhood friends, being together during the summers; until one summer when they became more. Ivy has returned to help care for her aunt who is undergoing chemotherapy after an eighteen month absence, and she’s sporting a massive engagement ring. Sawyer is disappointed that she’s engaged, and he really dislikes the cheater to whom she’s betrothed. When Ivy auditions for a community theater production of Wuthering Heights, Sawyer auditions as well. Recognizing their chemistry they are cast as Catherine and Heathcliff.
Throughout rehearsals, fundraisers, and everyday life, Ivy and Sawyer have the opportunity to learn more about each other and what values they share. When Ivy's life blows sky high, Sawyer will be the one to put her back together. Her aunt and uncle will also be there supporting her, but Sawyer is the one who knows her best. As they spend more time together, their feelings become woven within the scenes of the play, making Sawyer and Ivy realize how similar their story is to the play; making their performances very emotional.
This is another great story in the Stewarts of Skagway series; with a wonderful and supportive family, r friends and partners. I've actually visited Skagway, and Ms. Regnery really captures the feel of the town, including the huge crowds who visit there from the cruise ships. This story takes place in the off season, which provided a nice creative twist.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Sawyer by Katy Regnery is the newest novel in the Stewarts of Skagway series (book 4). The Stewarts own a tourist business. They offer a variety of opportunities for camping, hiking and other outdoor sports as well as places to stay. All the brothers and sisters spend their summer working for the family business, but when fall comes, they have more time off.
Sawyer Stewart has chosen to stay at home and help his family's business grow. He loves the richness that life has offered him. However, then there is Ivy. Ivy has an aunt and uncle who has shown her love and family in Skagway. She comes every summer and is one of the seasonal helpers. However, she is rich and destined for other things according to her father.
Ivy and Sawyer have always been friends. They have been ‘casual’ friends with no expectations. Each year their ‘casual’ has seemed to be more. Something that both Ivy and Sawyer's family have noticed. Sawyer recognizes it as well, but Ivy knows how to get her father to love her and that is to do what he expects her to. He expects her to complete college, choose an appropriate and politically helpful husband and help her father with his business. Until Ivy comes to help out when her aunt is sick, she realizes what is really important to her - Family and Love.
Ivy and Sawyer go through a lot of angst in this novel always struggling to find each other and how they fit. Ivy’s father is a particularly interesting character who proves everyone can go low, but some can go lower that you expect. I did enjoy the novel. I like the setting and the Stewart family. Sawyer by Katy Regnery is the fourth book in the Stewart of Skagway. The novel is a good read.
Oh to be young and in love and all the angst that goes with it! Sawyer Stewart has been in love with Ivy Casewell since he knew what love was. Ivy is the privileged only child of a wealthy coal distributer from Fairbanks. Her father has been sending her to Skagway to spend summers with her uncle's family for as long as she can remember. Ivy loves summers in Skagway. She loves her uncle's family and Sawyer Stewart is the best friend that she can imagine spending her summer with. The problem is that after one special summer a year and a half ago, Sawyer wanted more than summers and Ivy couldn't imagine a life living in small town Skagway. She had plans. Finish college, get engaged to a young man that her father admires and begin a life in government. Well Ivy's plans get a bit sidetracked when her beloved aunt develops cancer so Ivy returns to Skagway to help out the family and tries her best to avoid Sawyer. The problem is that off season, Skagway is about 1,200 residents and they continue to run into each other. It's clear from the beginning that Sawyer and Ivy have unfinished business and with both of them participating in the town's production of Wuthering Heights, they finally get the opportunity to clear the air. Or does this production help Ivy clear her mind? Sawyer was a good addition to the series. It's a good, solid, angsty, second chance romance and YA readers will adore it. It was told from dual POV and just because the characters are in their early 20's, don't think that there isn't heat because there's plenty!
It took one romance for me to fall in love with all things Stewarts of Skagway. There's something special about this family who grew closer after the loss of their matriarch and spends the high season catering to tourists and showing off their beloved Alaska.
Affluent Ivy Caswell isn’t exactly a Skagway local, but after spending every summer growing up with her aunt and uncle there, she doesn’t fit the tourist classification either. Now she's back during the off season to help her beloved aunt and uncle. Her internship at the capitol is on hold, and her engagement to the Lt. Governor's son will have to wait as well, much to her father's consternation.
Sawyer Stewart has a lot of memories of Ivy Caswell, some fond and some not. The last is due to some unfinished business between them. When Sawyer learns Ivy is trying out for the local production of a Wuthering Heights adaptation, he seizes the opportunity to spend time with Ivy and get closure. Small-town Alaska has a magic touch, and Ivy soon finds she’s not as immune as she thought.
Second-chance romance is one of my absolute favorites, and I love every minute I spent with Sawyer and Ivy on their road to forever. This talented wordsmith really knows how to tell a story that’s charming, engaging, and hypnotic. She gives us the perfect balance of humor, heat, and heart with an economy of words that takes the reader on the most delicious emotional ride. I love the family dynamics, the small-town quirks and charm, and the glimpses into Alaska living. As addıctive as it is unique, I can’t wait for more of this series!
I am loving this series. First Katy has me wanting to take a trip to Alaska, now she has me looking for the classics, like Wuthering Heights.
Sawyer is the youngest son of the Stewart clan. He is very different from what I expected and his behavior in the book Tanner makes much more sense now. I love how the stories are run concurrently. An incident or mention in one becomes a key point in another.
Sawyer, like his siblings, has a deep love for his family and innate sense of right and wrong. He’s very smart, well read and holds himself to a higher standard, yet recognizes his small town may not be for everyone. Finding love like his older siblings may not be attainable, given the woman who claimed his heart is engaged to another man.
Ivy Caswell has spent every summer in Skagway with her aunt & uncle from the time she was 8 years old. She’s a native Alaskan, has flaming red hair and green eyes and feels lost and alone most of the time. Abandoned by her mother and ignored by her dad her summers with her aunt & uncle become her lifeline. Not going to lie, I had a really hard time warming up to Ivy. Her attitude and haughty behavior annoyed me. Seeing her relationships with Sawyer, her dad and fiancé develop through the flashbacks made a world of difference.
Enemies to lovers and second chance loves are two of my favorite tropes, this story having both is a home run for me. Only two siblings are left, Parker & Reeve.
Skagway native - and lifer - Sawyer has been in love with heiress Ivy since they were adolescents, when she would spend summers with her uncle and his family in the seasonally busy town before returning to her pampered but lonely life in her wealthy father’s home. However, she broke his heart when she told him they couldn’t continue their friends with benefits arrangement as she left for college.
When Ivy returns to help care for her aunt who’s recovering from chemotherapy after an eighteen month absence, she’s sporting a massive engagement ring. Sawyer is disappointed that she’s engaged, and he really dislikes the cheater to whom she’s betrothed.
When Ivy auditions for a community theater production of Wuthering Heights, Sawyer auditions as well. Their palpable chemistry warms them the plum roles of Catherine and Heathcliff. As they work together, their feelings become entangled with the scenes of the play, and their attraction to each other adds to the complicated relationship between them.
This was another great book in Katy Regnery’s the Stewarts of Skagway series. I really loved the way the play paralleled the characters’ lives.
I was fortunate to have received an advance reader copy from the author and Grey’s Promotions, and I’m pleased to share my honest review.
This is the fourth book of the Stewarts of Skagway series and all are very well written in my opinion. This book follows Sawyer and Ivy who you meet in the previous books but don't really get to know until this one. I wasn't sure what to expect for them as they are a bit of a younger couple and seemed less mature but overall I think the book did them justice. Sawyer and Ivy have a bit of history. They have known each other since they were young as Ivy always came to visit her aunt and uncle every summer. They became friends first and then a bit more as time went on. In the summer before her last year of college, things get really heat up between the two although they agree nothing can come of it. Ivy has big plans that don't account for a small guy from a small Alaskan town. This leaves Sawyer heartbroken and angry. When Ivy's aunt gets sick however, she returns to help out but she comes back engaged and with no plans to stay. But Ivy starts to find herself the further she is from her father's control and her fiancés wishes. She starts to remember how real love felt the more time she spends with Sawyer and realizes that maybe her plan is not what she really wants after all.
Overall a good read and if you've read the first three books you'll be invested. Good small town romance with all the feels.
Although I liked Sawyer and Ivy well enough ... I just didn't love them. Sawyer was like a love-sick puppy while Ivy was kinda a snob. I know Ivy wanted her father's love, but to get back with a cheating boyfriend is just not the way. I know that the play Wuthering Heights was supposed to add a romantic element, but I found it took away from Sawyer and Ivy's actual story ... I wanted more of Ivy and Sawyer, not Catherine and Heathcliff. This is not my favorite in the series, but I can't wait for Parker and Reeve's stories.
Sawyer and Ivy have been summer friends since they were little kids when Ivy spent the summers with her aunt and uncle in Skagway. Last summer they took that friendship and included benefits, but when Ivy came back this summer she had a huge ring on her left hand. Sawyer's heart was broken. Ivy had no choice but to get back together with her cheating ex because that's what her father expected of her. When Ivy learns that her aunt is sick, she rushes to Skagway to help the only mother influence she knew. Sawyer can't believe that Ivy is in Skagway in the off-season and takes it as his chance to win her back.
I received an early copy courtesy of Grey's Promotion.
Well this was another heartfelt small town love story. Ivy and Sawyer known each other for quite a long time as Ivy frequent every summer in Skagway with her aunt and uncle. One particular summer they became lovers who spent every night under the stars … might have fall in love … that is until Ivy left at the end of that summer, cut off Sawyer completely, and never look back. She went on to finished college and engaged to a high-profile guy with a prominent family. Soon enough Ivy found herself back at Skagway taking care of her sick aunt. Sawyer was surprised. This is Sawyer chance to get some answers and possible closure. Ivy was planning on avoiding Sawyer at all costs, but they found themselves as leading roles at a local theater production. Ahhh, the close proximity and sexual tension was off the chart. Sawyer has always been in love with Ivy, but Ivy is lying to herself if she thinks her feelings for Sawyer was platonic/friends with benefits. Ivy had some hurdles to get through and Sawyer was there every step of the way. I love that Sawyer is so sweet, kind and always supportive of Ivy despite his family’s strong opinions. Totally swoony hero! Really love this book with small town feels, heartwarming family bonds, and sweet romance.
I love my visits to Skagway, Alaska and I love catching up with the Stewart family. This time it’s Sawyer Stewart and Ivy Caswell’s second chance at love. From the moment I picked this book up I was back in Alaska, I was captivated and drawn in by the words Ms Regnery weaved and there was no putting down until the final line was read. Ivy comes from one of Fairbanks most esteemed families but she is back in Skagway for the off season to help her aunt and uncle. Trying to keep herself occupied through the long winter days she auditions for a part in a local play, Wuthering Heights. She is totally shocked when she finds out she is playing Cathy opposite local boy Sawyer who she has a summer hook up with a few years ago…… What follows is Sawyer doing his best to rekindle the friendship and a lot more but will the rich girl fall for the local boy. One click to find out. Sawyer touched me so so many levels, I smiled, I swooned and I giggled at the witty banter as I watched this couple dance around each other. This is a great addition to the series and I’m excited for my next visit to Skagway, Alaska.
Sawyer ~ The Stewarts of Skagway #4 by Katy Regnery
A favourite author of mine and I knew I was guaranteed a brilliant story, Katy has a way of telling a fantastic story. Sawyer contains wonderful characters and a storyline, that's filled with first love, holidays in the summer in Deya. Ivy stays in Deya during the summer with her aunt and uncle, and meets Sawyer, over the years they become friends until one year there is more.
Sawyer has been written brilliantly with a strong storyline that draws you in from the first page until the last. I felt that I too was there alone with Ivy and Sawyer. Will they get their HEA?
I highly recommend this book to all, although you can read this as a standalone, I would suggest you start at the beginning, then you get to know the other characters who pop in Sawyer. There are only two books left, and I am looking forward to reading them.
Reasons I enjoyed this book: Easy-to-read, Happily Ever After,page-turner, Romantic, Realistic, and Wonderful characters
SAWYER: The Stewarts of Skagway #4 by Katy Regnery was a surprise to me. I always love her writing, especially Alaska Books. This one was especially good to read. It has been since I was in high school that I read the book Wuthering Heights, and it is part of this book. They're auditioning for people to play the part of the old book to put on a play. Sawyer Stewart had recently read the book because it's once belonged to his mom. He knew his love interest: beautiful Ivy Caswell was back in Skagway auditioning for the role of Cathy. Sawyer has auditioned too, for the part of Heathcliff, and a big shocking surprise he gets the part. They're absolutely great together, so much that they make you wonder if they are acting or if this is for real. The kissing scenes had to be toned down too. There's Ivy's cheating fiancé that is a problem that must be got rid of and a few other issues that keep them apart, “It has always been you and me,” Sawyer says. We shall only hope that true love will win in the end!
Sawyer is the fourth installment in Katy Regnery's The Stewarts of Skagway series, and it’s a quick, delightful read that fans of the series will enjoy. The story delves into the tumultuous relationship between Ivy Caswell and Sawyer Stewart, who have always felt a strong attraction but have only had limited time together during Ivy’s brief visits to her family in Skagway.
A particularly enjoyable aspect of the book is how the author weaves the classic tale of Wuthering Heights into the narrative, with Ivy and Sawyer starring in a play based on the novel. This creative element adds depth to their relationship, drawing them closer despite the complications they face.
Each book in this series focuses on a different sibling in Sawyer's family, and Regnery does a wonderful job of making each story feel fresh and original. From the very beginning, I was eager to see how Ivy and Sawyer would achieve their happily-ever-after. Sawyer is a fantastic addition to the series.

I Received an ARC Book from the Author! This is My Voluntary and Honest Review!
I wasn't sure what to think of this story, initially. Sawyer came across as mature beyond his years in the previous books that the reader had a tendency to forget just how young he really was, but was reminded of this when his long-time unrequited love, Ivy Caswell, returns in September to care for her Aunt Priscilla (who is undergoing chemo therapy), when she has always prior to this only come for the summer months before returning to her home and classes at Fairbanks University, until the next summer tourist season would come back around. The author did a good job having the play, Wuthering Heights, being put on by the theater group in Skagway, dovetail with the relationship drama being enacted between Sawyer and Ivy. It was good to see Ivy maturing and learning to stand up for herself, and becoming someone who can be seen as becoming worthy of the maturity that is exhibited by Sawyer, with a HEA in their foreseeable future. 4 1/2 *'s I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
