5 Not Careful What I Wish For Stars ⭐
I have purposely left The Lovely Return on my kindle unread. Only because I knew I would have to devote my heart and soul to this read and I haven't been ready until now. And I was right. From the first passage, I was consumed with the beauty of it all.
The heart is a compass, and for some reason, mine keeps leading me here.
Penny Rose isn't your 'normal' little girl. Although her parents don't really understand her, they support her the best they can. This little girl envisions are life that isn't exactly her own. Which is how she finds herself constantly drawn to a stranger's home.
A broken man, Alex Fox has lost everything. Now with alcohol as his only real companion, a 6 year old Penny worms her way into his home and heart. The unlikeliest of friendship and salvation. A connection that spans years and transcends time.
You promised me eternity.

Beautiful, heartbreaking, epic and powerful. This story is for the truest romantic and dreamer. Wonderfully poetic and emotionally raw, I devoured every moment between Alex and Penny. The purest of friendship that evolves into what was meant; love.
That doesn't mean that this love was without its struggles, doubts and bad timing. Alex and Penny had to overcome many obstacles to be together. Yet when your heart is fully committed, there's not much you wouldn't do for the person you love. This was something else!

Carian Cole has this way about her writing. Her books always seem to hit me right in the feels, and this one did just that. Penny and Alex’s story was emotional, heart-wrenching, and healing.
Some love is strong enough to overcome all hurdles. That is the kind of love that’s in this book. It will defy all obstacles, and even though it’s an unconventional romance (with a large age gap) it worked. The slow burn was impeccable, and I don't want to say too much about the actual story itself, but Alex and Penny are meant to be.
The Lovely Return is so epically romantic and beautifully written. It made me cry more than once and even though it had some hard to read moments, it had me smiling so big at the end. Will definitely make my top favorites list of 2023 and I can’t wait for it to come to audio so I can reread it that way. I highly recommend this one!

I just finished and I'm in a haze. Loss for words. And I don't think any words can do this book justice because this was one of the most beautiful, captivating, heart wrenchingly poignant, deeply romantic books I have ever read. It's so different from what I usually gravitate to but being a huge Carian Cole fan, I added this to my TBR long before it had a blurb. And truth be told, I never did bother reading the blurb because I didn't care, knowing I'd read her grocery list if Carian wrote it.
As much as I love an age gap romance, I was skeptical. Can I really buy into a romance when Alex first meets Penny when she's six? But oh wow did I. The beautiful emotional pull these words had on me. This is a book for the true romantic because this book is the perfect story of undying love. A love that survives everything, even death.
It's over 500 pages and yet I read it in a day, desperately grasping to the pages, with my heart in a vice, and tears in my eyes. It was just so beautiful. I've read reincarnation books before, and I sort of expected similar vibes here, but it was so much more. It was an emotional, captivating slow burn full of heart wrenching moments and moments of pure bliss. Penny and Alex's love story is unlike anything I have ever read, and that's saying something.
I don't want to give too much away, but I will say this. This is a story of a one of a kind love that doesn't die. Alex is a man who is impossible not to fall hard for. You love with him, you grieve with him, you heal with him. And Penny is the one who breathes life back into him. The story spans years and the pacing is impeccably crafted. Cole masterfully takes you through each milestone in the life of Penny and Alex. You experience everything right along with them; the pain, the confusion, the stolen glances, the forbidden love. It was beautiful. The development of their relationship is also impeccably written. It's organic and raw and real and I fell so hard for them both.
I'm not usually a crier, but I cried tears of joy and pain as I finished. This is a story that will be rooted in my heart for years to come and simply unforgettable. These characters will be staying with me, their love will be staying with me, and this book is going straight to my top favorites list. It was worth every second of the wait and I cannot recommend it enough.

It pains me to rate a Carian Cole book this low. I have read and enjoyed most of her books. I even have a couple of her signed paperbacks on my shelf. She's a good author whose writing is so poetic, lyrical, and emotional. I'm also not bothered by age gaps or generally taboo subjects.
I can see what she was trying to achieve with this book. But the whole reincarnated soulmate, love across lifetimes premise is overshadowed by the fact that Alex is essentially a child groomer.
Penny first wanders into his studio when she's 6 years old. By the time she's 12, she's regularly hanging out with him alone at his house and treating him like a boyfriend (ie: serving him lemonade with heart-shaped strawberry pieces). He does nothing to dissuade her until two of his friends point out that it's weird.
She starts living with him when she's 17, and doesn't turn 18 until 36% into the book.
While nothing sexual happens while she's underage, Alex has many, many inappropriate thoughts and feelings toward her since he first meets her at 6 years old. Feel free to check my notes and highlights, there are 56 of them.
Even after she becomes an adult, Alex frequently thinks back to when they first met as when their "instant/special/unique connection" started, which is pretty concerning.
It's also discomforting how every adult in Penny's life is all, she's so mature for her age, she understands adult concepts that are beyond her years, etc. I know, I know. Reincarnation. But can y'all see how these are very child-groomy justifications? Penny also does have very immature/age-appropriate thought processes, so she is still very much a child/teenager.
On top of all that, Alex has tendencies toward violence. He punched holes in walls and threw a bottle at someone while drunk. While sober, he slammed his fist down on a table and made a bunch of silverware clatter. I'm not buying the sensitive, gentle artist bit at all. He definitely shouldn't have been around a child unsupervised.
Honestly, the reincarnation aspect feels like a flimsy vehicle to have a grown man to fall in love with a child. The author still could have used that plot device while having them meet as adults.
I did read Torn by this same author and enjoyed it. That story at least seemed plausible and tastefully handled when I read it. Would I feel the same after a reread? I'm not really sure. After The Lovely Return, I'm starting to wonder if this author has a thing for grown men starting relationships with literal children.

If I ever get reincarnated pls don’t let me try to go back to my old life, that had a whole ass husband and kid, at 6 years old.
I get that the whole reincarnation plot line tried to be romantic and prove that they were soulmates but at the end it gave Jacob impregnating on Renesmee, which is creepy. I just wish the author had handled it better because there were just many things that felt very inappropriate and weird. At the end of the day, reincarnated or not, I feel the protagonist should have had her own voice and time to mature and grow into herself before being put into a relationship with someone that used to be something to her in her “past life”.
It was just very disturbing to see that a small kid’s only life goal was basically to take the place of a grown woman, even if she supposedly used to be her. Like, that’s a child, let her be that for a second.
I was just so uncomfortable and disturbed during various parts of it. Many things could’ve been handled better because the ideas were there but the execution was def not it.

Sad because I love Carian Cole but I didn’t enjoy this book.
I’m gonna be honest, the plot felt saturated, confusing and just a giant mess over all.
I didn’t like how the entire reincarnation thing was handled, and the fact that a lot of things were left unsolved or just accepted as a mystery didn’t sit right with me.
I wanted a love story, but this didn’t feel like a romance at all.
Edit: in retrospect it also felt super uncomfortable reading about this grown ass man having this celestial connection to a literal kid.

Cole's writing style is as captivating as ever, weaving a tale that effortlessly pulls at the heartstrings.
What I loved most about this novel was its characters. They felt like friends I've known forever, flawed but so incredibly real. I found myself rooting for them every step of the way; each with their own struggles, dreams, and desires. It's impossible not to become emotionally invested in their journey.
When I first checked out the book summary, I thought it would mainly revolve around age-gap romance. But to my surprise, it turned out to be much more than that. It's a story about forgiving oneself, growing as a person, and finding redemption in unexpected places. It's a reminder that even in tough times, there's always a glimmer of hope to hold on to.
Sure, the story may follow some familiar tropes, have a slow pace, and lack significant steamy moments. I am pleased that Carian Cole brings her own unique voice and perspective to the table. The result is a story that feels fresh, authentic, and impossible to put down. I was so engrossed that I managed to finish it in just three days.

“Still. Again. Always.”
I truly have no words for how beautiful of a love story this was. Alex and Penny are the definition of meant to be in EVERY sense of the word. Death couldn’t keep these souls from finding each other again.
Romances with reincarnation always fascinate me because I’ve always believed there are things in this world that can never be explained unless you’ve experienced it.
Their journey was not an easy one, but it happened exactly as it was meant to. I cannot wait to reread this because I’m sure I’ll probably highlight twice as much as I did with details I missed the first time!

This was a beautiful, gut-wrenching story. I was hooked from the very beginning and my heart was breaking for Alex & Brianna. I was a mess. But I knew what this story was supposed to contain, so I hunkered down and pushed through.
I won't spoil anything, because this a romance you just have to experience. The way that Penny fits in was unexpected.. I had no clue how this romance could work out. I got so stressed I put it down a few times to do chores because I was afraid of what came next.
This is a story of love greater that death do us part. A soul connection that can't be severed. To get there we have to go through some big hurdles but we are rewarded in the end.
While I think most lovers of Carian Cole will be very please with this one, there was some angst and a situation in the 3rd act that push the balance to far for me. I'm just very sensitive to that. However, many romance lovers will enjoy it just fine!

A really lovely read.
I was really surprised to see this book on amazon because I was still waiting for wish of my heart to come out. But I love all of the Carina Cole books so I didn't hesitate to buy this one.
This book is and age gap romance with reincarnation being the underlining tone of the book.
Alex is a very likable character and so is Penny.
There relationship is a long one, and evolves over 20 year time period.
As much as I enjoyed the book it did feel a little to long by the end and I just wanted to get to the part where they were happy together. That being said I really enjoyed the book and have no regrets buying it.

🟦So, this is not very hard to guess. This is a reincarnation-amnesia-romance.
▶My emotions while reading this book-
🟦Okay so, this book started really good. REALLY GOOD. I was happy,sad,all them emotions ya know?
🟦But then around page 100, I felt that this was turning over-dramatic.
🟦Its not much of a spoiler, Idk why Carian was acting as if, there was this big revelation in the ending, when it really wasn't. There was no revelation, from page 5, I knew how this one was gonna end. EVERYONE knew that. Its not a big deal, why should we pretend?
🟦BUT, I still continued reading it to see if the romace will get wierd at some point.
🟥What is this 'wierd' i am talking about?
_In a nutshell, the Heroine (in prologue only )(21-a painter)is pregnant with the Hero's first baby. On the way to the hospital, during delivery, the car crashes, she dies, looses the baby(supposedly). The hero is sad, depressed, starts drinking a hell of a lot for 2 years.
_2 years later, he meets a little girl(the heroine of this book) who has a wierd attachment to his grown ass. She knows everything about him, and knows what every room looks like in his house,w hat he likes to eat, his dog's name and EVERYTHING. Thats cause this lil girl, was born the same day the H's wife died.
🟦So its a re-incarnation story you see.
🟥🟥Also, major spoilers,
🟦I was afraid that Carian will write a wierd story of a 10 year old girl in love with a 31 year old man.
🟦But THANKFULLYYYY, he is NOT attracted to her in ANY way until she turns 18. (He is 36 at this point) --which now that i think about it, is still creepy.
🟦There is no NSFW scene until she is like 19. Although, in a typical teenage style, she is attracted to him seggsually when she turns 16.
🟦I still think its not okay to write books with this trope, because there were 2-3 instances where I did feel like it was getting wier b/w them, but you have to understand that the h remembers EVERYTHING from her past life, so she is actually a child with the brain of a 21 year old woman.
🟦What I didnt like about this book was, it was painfully slow, every chapter is of her 2 yaers later, 3 yaers later, 6 years later.
🟦The novel is 70% when she is still underage, and 30% of them ACTUALLY getting together, marrying and starting a family.

🟦So, this is not very hard to guess. This is a reincarnation-amnesia-romance.
▶My emotions while reading this book-
🟦Okay so, this book started really good. REALLY GOOD. I was happy,sad,all them emotions ya know?
🟦But then around page 100, I felt that this was turning over-dramatic.
🟦Its not much of a spoiler, Idk why Carian was acting as if, there was this big revelation in the ending, when it really wasn't. There was no revelation, from page 5, I knew how this one was gonna end. EVERYONE knew that. Its not a big deal, why should we pretend?
🟦BUT, I still continued reading it to see if the romace will get wierd at some point.
🟥What is this 'wierd' i am talking about?
_In a nutshell, the Heroine (in prologue only )(21-a painter)is pregnant with the Hero's first baby. On the way to the hospital, during delivery, the car crashes, she dies, looses the baby(supposedly). The hero is sad, depressed, starts drinking a hell of a lot for 2 years.
_2 years later, he meets a little girl(the heroine of this book) who has a wierd attachment to his grown ass. She knows everything about him, and knows what every room looks like in his house,w hat he likes to eat, his dog's name and EVERYTHING. Thats cause this lil girl, was born the same day the H's wife died.
🟦So its a re-incarnation story you see.
🟥🟥Also, major spoilers,
🟦I was afraid that Carian will write a wierd story of a 10 year old girl in love with a 31 year old man.
🟦But THANKFULLYYYY, he is NOT attracted to her in ANY way until she turns 18. (He is 36 at this point) --which now that i think about it, is still creepy.
🟦There is no NSFW scene until she is like 19. Although, in a typical teenage style, she is attracted to him seggsually when she turns 16.
🟦I still think its not okay to write books with this trope, because there were 2-3 instances where I did feel like it was getting wier b/w them, but you have to understand that the h remembers EVERYTHING from her past life, so she is actually a child with the brain of a 21 year old woman.
🟦What I didnt like about this book was, it was painfully slow, every chapter is of her 2 yaers later, 3 yaers later, 6 years later.
🟦The novel is 70% when she is still underage, and 30% of them ACTUALLY getting together, marrying and starting a family.

I feel like… I did not read the same story as the people who rated it 5 stars because this book is literally about a GROWN man falling in love with a child over the years.
I was a huge fan of Carian Cole but this story is literally not okay. This author writes the cringiest age gaps and in no way should it ever start off with the girl being literally 5.
I actually felt so sad for Penny. Everyone failed her as a child. Especially her mother, for allowing her to hang out alone with a grown man and her father who just allowed it & essentially not giving a f*ck about penny.
Alex… I mean i have no words besides only thinking the whole time “SHE IS A CHILD WHY ARE YOU COMPARING HER TO YOUR LATE WIFE WHO WAS AN ADULT.”
The first half of the book (really 70%-80%) I was holding my breath. I wanted to DNF but because of the respect I had for the author I thought maybe it could get better I want to see where it goes. I was finally able to breathe after she was like 22, but I literally lost it when he confessed to his best friend that he literally felt something for her since she was young and been falling in love since then even though it wasn’t anything physical. FFS I wanted to scream cry throw up.
The reincarnation plot really was done poorly. It was actually annoying. Basically Alex late wife Brianna is just hogging up and abusing Penny’s brain that essentially make the people around Penny think she’s nuts for having those thoughts that aren’t hers. So now poor Penny has to deal with the consequences that Brianna’s soul caused. It’s selfish in my opinion. Like Penny didn’t even get to have her own personality barely.
I would never recommend this book. It’s so sad because Carian Cole wrote one of my top favorite novel ever No Tomorrow… and somehow she created this.

But why am I crying at 2:00PM on a Saturday?! Because of Carian Cole and the way, she absolutely obliterated my heart with The Lovely Return. She put it back together again, but that is what I get for not taking the whole "might need tissues" warning seriously.

I wasn't going to put this in my review for the sake of keeping the review spoiler free, but it is quite literally everywhere at this point, so I don't really see the issue. Reincarnation, real or not? For me it is real in a sense because history doesn't lie and there are too many coincidences for it not to be real in some sense. When this part of the story kind of came to.... fruition my mind was absolutely blown. I was already captivated and invested in these characters before that point but that just solidified it even more. Their love was too captivating for it to be anything less than soulmates.
Penny had my heart from the very start but watching her grow up and seeing how her feelings and thoughts changed towards Alex was so seamless. There was no forced moment where I didn't believe her feelings towards him in every single stage of her life. It was beautiful but also so endearing.
Alex Fox folks was one of those book boyfriends that will never stray far from my mind. I will compare him to other book boyfriends moving forward because the way he loved his girls was immense and constant. Not once, even in the roughest of moments did I think his love ever waivered. He was brilliant, beautiful, and so fierce in his love that you can't help but just love him.
I am still reeling from finishing The Lovely Return so if this review is chaotic, I am sorry, but these thoughts are raw and pure. Penny and Alex will forever hold a place in my heart and my love for Carian Cole is stronger than ever.

As soon as this landed on my kindle, it was game over, life was put on hold, I even took a work day sicky so I could stay in this world the author had created, I never wanted to leave it, trying to slow my reading down did not help one bit, the end result was still the same, the end..
Closing that last page was the perfect ending to a perfectly worded book. I don't normally gravitate towards age gap romances until I saw this author taking that leap and I was all over it, stalked it months on end, this was one read I'd highly anticipated and she didn't let me down once. So that wait was worth it in the end.

This author definitely knows how to work those slow burns, this went off with a bang and a gasp in the beginning, where the world crashed down, then when a six wee old started incorporating herself into Alex's life captured my heart, this was so unique, and beautifully written my words alone can not describe everything this author threw of herself into this book.
And here I sit trying to convey it into my review and god where to even start, every which way I want to write up this review divulges spoilers, I will say that this is one of my top reads of 2023! Saying I loved this book is an understatement!
Go into this book blind, get wrapped up in the feels like a favourite blanket cocooning you, this put me through the wringer, it made me 😭🐕 like a baby! But slowly it also put me back together!

I've always loved the age gap trope, but this is the first time it doesn't sit well with me. I just can't wrap my head around the idea of a twelve-year-old child having a crush on a thirty-something man.

This book put me through it. I was sad, frustrated, happy and angry. My lows were my lows but for those fleeting moments when I had my highs, they were beautiful and I never wanted to let go of that feeling. These characters truly puts you in their orbit and I have to say that despite a few things I didn't agree with this story, I had a really hard time letting go of these characters because they really stayed with me.
They say grief has no expiration date and for Alex Fox, those words couldn't be any more true. For years he's been going through different stages of it but he's now become a shell of the man that he once was. How do you move on when the worst day of your entire life took away your reason for living? Going through the motions as the years pass, a little girl shows up one day and changes everything.
It's no secret that I'm a huge forbidden romance fan and I was literally chomping at the bit to get to this one. It looked haunting and I knew in my bones that certain things were going to hurt me but I was ready to embrace it. The issue that I had with this story was not only the plot, but I felt like it was a bit forced on the main character. I just wanted certain things to be different because it felt like there was more than an internal battle. I understood why it was done because that was the plot of the story but I just wished that some things were different.
Now aside from that, I fell in love with these characters and I truly felt their pain. When I tell you my heart was aching, I felt like I was experiencing my own grief. Despite the age difference, Alex and Penny solidified their place in each other's lives without ever knowing it and as time passed, you not only saw their friendship progressing, but you saw the possibility of more. You knew it was coming and you felt the shift in the air and you held your breath because as much as you know that it's going to be Beautiful, it's going to come with some heartache.
This was a complex haunting love story that spanned decades. If you’re a fan of this author, then I recommend giving this one a try.

I get this is a heartbreaking story, but it didn't touch my heart.
It took me some time to identify why I felt this barrier between myself and the story, the absence of a vivid portrayal of Briana's relationship with Alex was a significant drawback IMO.
I realise the story was not about the two of them, but their relationship was the most important foundation for the story between Alex and Penny. It would have given more depth and emotional resonance. So, I believe the source of my detachment came from an excess of telling without showing.
Another negative point was the portrayal of Penny's parents. Their characterization, for me, detracted from the story's vibe a lot.

Dead wife trope but it’s not like the usual (FMC-Penny is the reincarnation of the wife-Bri, it’s obvious from the beginning).
The FMC (Penny) has a memories and dreams about her past life (as Bri).
Things I didn’t like:
- The MMC is kind and sweet but he’s also pathetic most of the time 🙄, he didn't really do anything for FMC except make weak promises to her, she was the one who did everything so they could be together while he was afraid. He let her go for 4 years and i felt like he abandoned her and didn’t fight for her when she needed him, while she never abandoned him during his difficult times. (I wanted him to fight for her with nails and teeth).
- The connection between MMC (27 yrs old) and FMC (6 yrs old) was so creep.
- Alex and Bri’s daughter is so annoying and i dislike her. I felt that she was just there to be an obstacle in the MCs relationship.
- The MMC hypocrisy when his daughter dated someone eight years older than her while he was intimate with FMC who was 21 years younger than him.
- The FMC’s parents really pissed me off when they threw FMC in rehab for over a year and they were the reason for her bad condition 💔.… And nobody with half brain would let their teenage daughter stay with a grown-single man in his house all the time 🤡.
- I know that the wife and the FMC are the same soul!! but when the MMC started loving the FMC and they became intimate he didn't know she was the wife and he said he was sure his wife would tell him to move on!! But the FMC was hurt instead (because she is the wife but she doesn't remember yet) so idk i felt like he was getting over her. Plus he was attracted to the FMC because she reminded him of his wife. It was a mess to me 🤷🏻♀️

Ще що мене бісило, це те що Пенні аж забагато перегравала, оці нудоти, голова болить, починає марити що вона Бріанна не називай мені Пенні, мені хотілось її вдарити чимось

Мені було дуже боляче спостерігати за Алексом і Лілі (його дочка) скільки ж болю вони принесли один одному
Незважаючи на те що це була омріяна і улюблена дочка Алекса це був кошмар, мені так було сумно від їхньої взаємодії

Бісили мене батьки Пенні, батько якому було всерівно на неї, він вдавав що вона не існує і матір яка була якоюсь неадекватною зі своєю гіпер опікою

First, this is now one of my top five books that I've read this year. Y’all know I love No Tomorrow but this story... OMG!!! It was a profoundly emotionally charged story and an utterly magnificent book. If you're a romantic at heart this one is for all of us.
Carian always has a lethal hold on to our hearts, I could sense from the beginning this was going to be an epic story. This follows Alex as what was meant to be one of his best days turns into the most momentous. He lives in total darkness for the next six years until a six-year-old sunshine girl named Penny comes into his life and gives him meaning again. Their lives are irrevocably changed by this experience. Carian guides us through the process of healing and mourning as they swiftly become best friends, they also share something of a familiarity. Their story unfolds and blooms for more than 22 years, as the line between friendship & twin flames is crossed, of what was always meant to be.
Alex, this man! 🫠 He is an artist who is tormented with a rough exterior and a relentless anguish. Beneath it all, he is a kind, caring, and simply amazing man who is learning how to live and love. Penny, well, I just adore her. She is intelligent, compassionate, and brilliant. She exudes beauty and vitality as she enjoys poetry, the outdoors, and art. I'm so glad she helps Alex heal and finds her forever.
Carian truly writes the most incredible, profound, stories that I have EVER read. Let’s just say I'll be forever sending her my therapy bills. Penny and Alex have a mesmerizing and alluring love that unites their two hearts into one. They would without a doubt be listed among the greatest loves of this century in any rating. First, this is now one of my top five books that I've read this year. Y’all know I love No Tomorrow but this story... OMG!!! It was a profoundly emotionally charged story and an utterly magnificent book. If you're a romantic at heart this one is for all of us.
Carian always has a lethal hold on to our hearts, I could sense from the beginning this was going to be an epic story. This follows Alex as what was meant to be one of his best days turns into the most momentous. He lives in total darkness for the next six years until a six-year-old sunshine girl named Penny comes into his life and gives him meaning again. Their lives are irrevocably changed by this experience. Carian guides us through the process of healing and mourning as they swiftly become best friends, they also share something of a familiarity. Their story unfolds and blooms for more than 22 years, as the line between friendship & twin flames is crossed, of what was always meant to be.
Alex, this man! 🫠 He is an artist who is tormented with a rough exterior and a relentless anguish. Beneath it all, he is a kind, caring, and simply amazing man who is learning how to live and love. Penny, well, I just adore her. She is intelligent, compassionate, and brilliant. She exudes beauty and vitality as she enjoys poetry, the outdoors, and art. I'm so glad she helps Alex heal and finds her forever.
Carian truly writes the most incredible, profound, stories that I have EVER read. Let’s just say I'll be forever sending her my therapy bills. Penny and Alex have a mesmerizing and alluring love that unites their two hearts into one. They would without a doubt be listed among the greatest loves of this century in any rating. My god, this book! It deserves all the stars. It stole my heart from page one and kept it captive long after it was over.
This was my most anticipated book, it kept getting pushed back and every time I wanted to throw a full on tantrum. But it was well. Worth. The. Wait!!
Do you believe in reincarnation? What if you lost your wife and made a wish on a falling star for her to come back? What would you do if she did?
I’m getting emotional just writing this.
This stunning story was all about Alex, a completely broken man. And a little girl who has all these memories that nobody, not even she can understand.
The way they grew into friends was breathtaking. Honestly, if all CC gave me was them becoming best friends I would be satisfied. So sweet, so cute, and just gah! Everything!
But then when she grew up and different feelings were inspired. All the angst, all the build up, all the turmoil made for the best thing that ever hurt. And it’s gonna hurt. It’s gonna rip your heart to shreds but you’re gonna thank this author down on your knees.

I did not finish this book. I just cannot get past the fact that she was 5-6 when they met, and he was 28. Just major ick vibes for me. If she had been an adult, I’d be fine with the age gap. Not much makes me dnf a book but this did.

I waited for this book and I absolutely love the idea of reincarnation. I loved previous books of this author so much, and I was excepting this book to be as good as Torn / Tied / Vandal.
Unfortunately, it wasn't. For me personally.
The writing feels forced, I don't feel emotions and characters. It is always told, but never shown.
I think this book is just not for me and I'm truly happy for people who really love and enjoy it.
