Cute romance. I read the first in the series and wanted to read a few more.

“He wasn’t exactly sure what the hell had just happened between them, but it was enough of a something to make him pause. To make him wonder about what if. The question, was… What would he do about it?”

Piece of Me is the second installment in Juliana Stone’s The Bridgestones of Montana series, and just like the first book, I had a hard time putting it down. The first chapter alone already gripped me into the story, especially with how the characters initially met. The way the FMC, Scarlett Bridgestone, handled her first encounter with the MMC, Taz Pullman, not only left an impression on him but made it a memorable scene in a book I’ll never forget. She definitely didn’t care what the small town thought of her, which is why I loved her immediately.

Both main characters are single parents; the MMC Taz is taking care of his sister’s twin girls, while the FMC just had a baby and is back in her small town starting over. They never thought they would find love, especially when one is considered a player with the ladies, and the other doesn’t want to be in a relationship after her last one left her without any explanation with a baby to take care of, but destiny has a way of changing that for these two, and I was here for their HEA.

I always enjoy reading a romance book in which both characters aren’t looking for love but end up finding it with one another, and that’s exactly what happened in Piece of Love. I was a little leery with the MMC, Taz, since he was a player, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much he changed his ways with Scarlett. I loved the scenes with him taking care of his daughters, and even when he had moments with Scarlett and her son, Hank. No wonder why Scarlett had trouble staying away from Taz.

There is a breakup scene between the characters towards the end, but rest assured, it gets resolved pretty quickly. One of them takes care of the issue that is trying to break them a part in the best possible way.

Like the first book, this one gets five stars because it was another book that was hard to put down, and I’ll be thinking about it for a while. I loved the main characters and the secondary characters and look forward to reading more books in the series. Thank goodness, I already have the third book purchased so that I can start it soon. =)

What to Expect:
✓Small Town Romance
✓Single Parent Romance (Both Main Characters)
✓He Fell First (The FMC made an impression with him.)
✓Former Champion Bull Rider

Scarlett Bridgestone was the kind of trouble he generally tried to avoid. The kind of trouble that could hang a man if he let it.

After being so enthusiastic about book 1 of the Bridgestones, I went straight for the sequel. Unfortunately, despite a strong start, the story left me rather disappointed. Although both main characters (allegedly) shy away from a relationship, they quickly get involved with each other. Things develop far too smoothly between them – only to end in a nonsensical, implausible crisis in which both Scarlett and Taz behave like fools. The fact that Taz lets his smart-aleck mother put a bug in his ear to make things worse is also extremely annoying. (At least he makes up for it, and man, did it cost him.)

Overall, I thought Taz was a good hero and very cute with his two little girls, but his backstory remained pretty superficial. I didn't really warm to Scarlett, and I didn't understand what her problem was, which has obviously been going on for a long time and left her broken.

As much as Cal and Millie touched me emotionally in book 1 of the series, Scarlett and Taz didn't manage to do the same here. I guess sometimes you feel it, sometimes you don't. I will definitely return to the Bridgestones of Montana to see how Vivien's story unfolds.

I also hope there will be fewer spelling and punctuation errors than in this book. When even I, a non-native speaker, notice so many of them, it's not a good report card for the proofreader (who may or may not have existed).

Overall rating: 3
Story: 2/5
Emotion: 3/5
Taz: 4/5
Scarlett: 3/5

Scarlett tames Taz

This was such a beautiful story about two people who found love when neither were looking for it. I loved it.

Taz meets Scarlett when she comes to town dressed scantily. He suspects she’s nothing but trouble but she made one hell of an impression on him. He can’t get her out of his mind and he makes it his business to get to know her better. Both of them have to be careful because they are single parents with more than themselves to consider. Needless to say, they gel and embark on a relationship which is threatened when Scarlett’s deadbeat baby daddy returns. Can Taz handle the heat? Will he fight for his woman? The answer is absolutely!! He comes through in ways that Scarlett least expects but in ways that did not surprise me. I just knew he was going to show up in a big way and he did not disappoint.
This was a 5 star read for me!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

These two, and their kids, just wormed their way right into my heart! Of course, that meant that anything that hurt them, wounded me as well. For the most part, this is two people getting to know each other and falling in love. She’s been burned, he’s been non-committal, but the freight train that is their feelings won’t be denied. A bit of drama with our side characters (can’t wait for that story to be told) and a mishap for our couple, that, after everything is thought out and acted on, only brings them to the HEA that they so richly deserve <3

5 stars for Piece of Me by Juliana Stone

This was an amazing read for a really great family series. Love all the characters so far in the second book. It is an amazing storyline for a second chance at life situation. The first scene in the first chapter sets the tone. Lots of friendship, fellowship, tears, and laughter with lots of love. Love love Taz and Scarlett together. Together, they are simply really hot. His girls are a hoot. Can't wait for the next installment of Bridgestones of Montana.

Taz is almost too good to be true!

But Scarlett brings him joy and love which is all that matters. Another great story from Juliana Stone and I hope the next book is ready in this series.
