Rate this book
An eighteen-year-old girl vanished from a remote farming community in northern Ontario, leaving her newborn baby behind. When she failed to return home, her distraught husband reported her missing. Police searched the property. Friends were interviewed. Neighbours claimed they’d never met her. Her adoptive parents hadn’t seen her in months.
She was a ghost.
With no evidence of foul play, the case eventually went cold. Two decades later, police made a startling discovery that ripped the case wide open. Layer by layer, detectives unravelled the mysterious disappearance that had baffled them for years.
The secrets. The lies.
And the ugly truth.
She had been there all along…

I sat in silence for so long after reading this book. This author is from a town very close to my home, I read this book because I was interested in reading something from a local author. This book blew me away. The twists and turns leave you needing more. I could hardly set the book down. The characters felt so real, I kept thinking I had the book figured out so many times and every time I was shocked because it wasn’t at all what I thought. I hope Tracey Woodhouse will put out more books this was a masterpiece, very impressive for her debut novel. This is a definite read!

Great debut novel! This novel shows the impacts of child abuse & trauma and the impact that it can continously have on someone's life. Many twists & turns, it kept me intrigued and I read it fairly quickly.
Tracy lives around the same area as me and I'm excited to continue following her career as an author!

Very slow start, took 2/3 of book to get to the real story. Not bad for first book, writing will get better I’m sure. Wanted to read this book because author from my home town. Characters were well developed but story line took way to long to develop into jacket description. A lot of this book was unbelievable and maybe not researched enough.

I was impressed by this author’s debut novel, lots of twists and turns and no fluff. The characters come to life and I would never have guessed the ending of this exciting read. I’m happy I scanned the Amazon best sellers list and found this gem, would definitely recommend it.

Unfortunately I found this story to be underdeveloped. I also found the shifts in timeline to be very abrupt.
