I'd give it minus stars if I could. It is so bad.

There are two reasons you finish a book in one sitting. 1. It is so gripping that you don't want to sleep before finishing. 2. It is so bad that you want to know how it ends before you sleep so you can wake up and read a better book.

Rahul Saini's Paperback Dreams falls under the second category. A story about three 'authors', one is a loser, Rohit, because he keeps telling himself that. He has written a bestseller, and his publisher is cheating him of his money. Second is Jeet Obiroi, a successful author, who is still basking in the glory of his 'best seller' after 19 months, and still doing book tours, and has a chiseled face, six pack abs and a killer smile. We know it because Jeet keeps reminding us of his killer smile every time he sees a woman. And last is a school kid, Karun, who will go to any length to get a book published, because he's so cool and so manipulative for a 16 year old school kid who goes to something called Ting Tong International School. It's a story of these three guys, all written in first person narrative, on their journeys as a successful authors.

While the synopsis at the back of the book may seem interesting, it doesn't take more than five pages into reading the book that you start cringing.

Jeet describing himself, "They're carrying a big picture of me with my killer smile.." "It's the usual thing - hot chicks check me out whenever I travel." "It was a good decision to wear this red t-shirt I am wearing today. It highlights my guns and girls love it." "I look at her from the corner of my eye as she catches a glimpse of my six pack." What. What. What. And these are not even as cringeworthy as a conversation between Jeet and a fellow traveler,

"Do you have a pen?"

A question with a dirty annotation, I like that.

"Of course I have one. Every man's got to have one," I smile.

Like, seriously? I had to try very, very hard not to throw up.

And then there is always the quintessential loser, who has a perfect girlfriend, who he whines away to breakup, but she still comes back to her because he is a 'good guy' and he has written a best seller which called "Those Things in Everybody's Life, Big and Small' (and we are supposed to assume that this doesn't have any dirty annotation attached to it, because he doesn't even swear) . No, I'm not giving any spoilers away, because there is nothing like a spoiler. This book is as predictable as the next Tata Sumo bursting into flames in a Rohit Shetty movie.

And then there is ruthlessly ambitious Karun, who's like an annoying prick, and made me roll my eyes so much that now I can see even from the back of my head. There is no way I could tell how bad some of the parts of the book were without copying the entire book here.

I'm even more exhausted writing this review than I was reading the book because I just want to forget I ever read this, and cannot wait to read another book because I don't want this to be the last book I read in 2013.

Rahul Saini, it is because of people like you some of us dislike Chetan Bhagat. Because he pioneered the movement where everyone with Microsoft Word is now a writer.

Paperback dreams are about 3 young authors who voyage is through the dirty games of publishing industry in India. The book give an insight of how the “publishing couch” works and young authors cheat each other. First person narrative of three characters holds the readers to book with its twist and turns. On a readers perspective it’s a light read but a five hour super entertainment. Scandals, Betrayals, sex, love, greed, ambition are narrated with simple words. The book also indirectly point out some young authors from Punjab & Delhi and how they try to dominate their publishing house by deceiving fellow authors. All the three characters are well framed and do justice to their parts.

Paperback Dreams by Rahul Saini, is a fictional story stating the story of three new generation writers. As from the title and blurb I was more intrigue to read the novel and the novel satisfied completely by stating the reality of literature world.

The story moves parallel between three writers, Jeet Oberoi is a national best selling author who doesn't consider about ethics and done some unethical activity to get publish his first story.

Rohit Sehdev, is a writer of one national best selling book and waiting to get publish his second. I liked his character more also the story of rohit boost me motivationally.

Karun Mukherjee, an ambitious school kid who is waiting to publish his debut novel. And also a nerd who thinks with money and fame can win the world, any girl.

The connections between three writers is they published their book under same publisher. And narration of things happening in off the publishing world is shadowed so well. From the PR Marketing to cruel things does by jealous peoples are crafted well.

As from the view of story, narration and characterization nothing is wrong author written in the way of giving interesting read to readers. Also the love story of Rohit gives more essence to story.

Overall, Paperback dreams by Rahul Saini is perfect, time worthy read.

My rating - 4/5.

When you find an original story told by an author with a commitment to write only if he has a good story to tell, and if he takes a dig at the very phenomenon that he is involved with then you know you're dealing with some raw courage on hand. And if the writing is witty, at times deep, and the plotline forwards without effort making you turn the pages, then you know you're dealing with a good book and in good hands.

Three different people, three different intentions, three different motives. All three are authors and all three narrate their stories in the first person. The first person narrative has a unique advantage. It allows the author to tell the story from an intimate personal angle. And so it happens that Rohit with his "This is not done. This is Just not done." as the struggling victim, Jeet with his "hard on inside my underpants" as the play boy and Karun with his "Killer plan to oust everyone out of Dash publishers" as the wayward teenager, start talking to you. It's really heavy at the beginning when its three first person conversations. But the story quickly moves ahead and one gets used to the changing narrative as one begins to follow the story.

The surprise for me was the character of Jeet. Inspite of beginning as the quintessential flirt and an incurable sex maniac, Jeet turns out to be having deeper thoughts and meaningfully explores his own situation and begins to show signs of maturity towards the end of the story. His and Neeti's love track makes for a nice romantic angle. It's not deeply heart warming but it's nice to really see their transformation unfold.

The second surprise was Karun. Karun's dreams are perhaps not well recognized and groomed by his teachers. There are students like Karun everywhere and they get hooked to short cuts easily. With their innocence and their tech savvyness, they can really become dangerous. Karun's story really tells how much responsibility a teacher has on his/her shoulders.

Rohit and Pranav and their story is quite predictable. I loved and enjoyed many of Rohit's interactions with students. Having been a teacher myself and having seen the influence a teacher could have on students, I loved it when Rohit begins grooming students as a mentor and when Pranav turns around under his mentorship. Nothing more satisfactory and these episodes do reflect what teachers would go through and how they respond to situations and challenges in their life.

The depth and reach of a story are in its characters. Though I felt they could have been better explored and deeply characterized, I guess that's my heavy headed opinion, having read James Michener, Robert Jordan, Doris Lessing, Margaret Atwood, Arthur Hailey and a few world class authors. Perhaps if he focuses on "Learning and Exploring himself through his writing" than on "Teaching the world a few things that he knows", then Rahul Saini is definitely a class author in the making. I am not like "oh gawd I am really itching to read the next instalment of this", but if there is one, as Rahul says, it's gonna be on my to-read list.

Being an author is a profession that most of us are mesmerized by. At some point of time in life, there must have been a few amongst us who would have thought to themselves about writing something or publishing their own book.

However, the life of a writer is not an easy task at all. Not only do they have to come up with different scenarios and plots about their book to make it more interesting, but also have to be on their toes all the time with regards to the nitty-gritty involved whilst publishing their book.

Paperback Dreams by Rahul Saini also focuses on the lives of three authors, who all hail from completely different and distinct background. They are as opposite as Fire and Ice, however they are threaded together by their love for writing and being represented by the same publisher.

By getting to know these characters, we get insights into different shades of writers and how each of them react to a certain situation that has been presented before them. Not only that, but we also get to see into their mindset during a particular point of time, like when one is eager to have his book published and the other had already basked in the glory of being a Best Selling Author.

Jeet, Rohit and Karun, our three main characters in the book all started with their own set of Special characteristics as well as Flaws. Hence, it was interesting to read about how, by the end of the story, all three of them developed and sort of became a better version of themselves.

At times, it did feel like I wanted to go inside the book and shake the protagonist when he took certain bad decision or made a choice which wasn't the best. I guess this shows that the involvement of the story to get its readers hooked to it was spot on.
Hence I am going to give this book FIVE DREAM STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Paperback Dreams by Rahul Saini is a quite hilarious story that I have read recently. The story is all about bringing in the untold stories about the writers in front of readers and to explain about their true intentions of writing. The narrative incudes three different stories running on their own dimensions.

The book has three stories running simultaneously. One is about Jeet a playboy and has successfully published a book; Rohit, who recently published the best seller and but suspects that he's being looted by his publisher; third is about Karan who aims to become a writer to impress his crush. The story includes a common anchor point which is the publisher shown as a common one among all the tree characters and their respective stories.

The author has very well portrayed the series of events taking place in each story. The story also focusses on the way the publishing industry works in certain places where there is a lack of transparency. There is essence of love, romance, friendship, and good humour that are being blended well along the story. Simultaneously the author has also showcased the number of efforts that are being put by the authors and the struggles in faced in their path while bring up an excellent story for the readers.

The language is lucid and was easy to read. This book is a quick read, and it drives the reader not to stop reading as each page is full of fascinating series of events supplemented with a good sense of humour. Cover of the book is well designed, and it depicts the whole purpose of the book. I would rate this book with 4 out of 5 stars.

Book Name: Paperback Dreams

Author: Rahul Saini

Genre: Fiction

"Paperback dreams" by Rahul Saini is a fictional story of three writers in different timelines with one thing in common, their publisher. The novel talks about Jeet Obiroi, a college Casanova, Rohit Sachdev, writer of the best-selling novel, Karun Mukherjee, a debut writer.
Jeet Obiroi is hiding a secret about his published book which could ruin his reputation. He has spent a hefty amount in PR to get name, fame, and money.
Rohit Sachdev is an introvert who doesn't want to go in front of the media, according to him journalists are corrupt and they don't support the truth. He is furious when he came to know that his publisher is cheating him in giving him his royalty.
Karun Mukherjee is a 16-year schoolboy who thinks that he can write better than these two writers. He has written a book to win the heart of his lady love. He also starts playing dirty to get the name and fame, as according to him, name and fame are everything a person wants in one's life.

Paperback Dreams is a shocking, funny, ambitious, and light-hearted story of these writers which will carry you along in the world of writers. The book acted as a mental relief amidst my chaotic life and has refreshed my mind. I liked the way the author has shown the other side of a writer's life. The book is best for beginners. I am eagerly waiting for the next part of the book to know that what happened further in their lives as the ending has left some unanswered questions with me. I picked this book as the title and blur have caught my attention and I am glad I read this.

Do read to know the other side of a writer's life and don't forget to share your views in the comment section.

The book talks about three autors who have different perspectives and intentions.

Jeet Roy who wants to become famous author even if he has to do some unethical business.
Rohit Sehdev has written a national best seller book and is publishing his second book.
Karun Mukherjee is an aspiring cunning young author who wants to become famous by dragging other authors down.

All of them are publishing their books with the same publishing house and it mirrors the real world of Publishing houses and the struggle of genuine aspiring writers.
While reading the book, I felt that the plot, the characters everything is real.
This was such a light and fun read that I recommend everyone to read. It made me laugh quite a few times.
Also, Rohit and Pranav, I loved both of them. Pranav is such a cute person, I really liked his character.
Also yes I am waiting for the next book. I would love to read that.

I won't say say this is my favorite Rahul Saini book. That'll always remain his first one yet this book was a entertaining read. This is a brave and a rather interesting take on the book publishing business. It has a decent plot to kick start the story, yet it does get a little dull in middle and ending feels incomplete but may be that's because it has another installment( or so did I read). Still the author could have done more with the ending of Karun and Jeet's story arc.
This book is a reminder that book writing business is not that easy and glamorous as most of us aspiring writer feel it is.

P.S. A huge credit to Mr. Saini for taking such a bold step on this matter. Hoping a even better book in the second installment.

P.P.S. Sorry for a late review sir but I was a little occupied.

Since Penguin is the publisher, I thought it must be good enough. The synopsis grabbed my attention.

The so many love struck so called light reads that we see piled up in bookstores, and feel sad about the way literature is going; I thought this book is going to talk about that.

The format of the book is very bad, chapter headings are the names of the three protags, taking in turn to narrate the story from their point of view. It was way too obvious to be interesting... The author should have kept the narrator under the wraps and let the reader guess who it is by creating the suitable environment and background of each. Just a way to be more interesting.

As one finishes reading the book, they realise, as I did, that this is another trashy book written about the trashy way of publishing and writing that is happening among the 'light and pop reads'.

It was pretty impressive even because of the book cover and back cover's summary.
I was looking for some Indian author this time. So this is my first Indian novel.
It was going really good in the starting!..but when it reaches in the middle of the novel, the story becomes dull and boring. The starting 'spark' of the book tends to diminishes as story goes farther.
And the end was totally lame. Its a "filmy" ending.

Frankly speaking, this book attracted me due to its 'Jeet' character, but that too becomes lame as the end comes near. There was many 'filmy' plots in this novel {which means lack of creative ideas} and lack of maturity level.
I must wanna advice one thing to the writer that, "Don't be filmy, try to be yourself and let your originality tells you what to write."

~Peace~

Rohit Sehdev is in a state of penury. He is an author of a book which is doing good in the market but he is probably being cheated by his publisher. So, now he has chosen to take up a teaching job but soon after regrets it. Jeet Oberoi is another author who has written an erotica by fake means, which gets later revealed in the story, and has become quite famous and now has interviews to attend at different places. He enjoys this fame and attention from young women. Karun Mukherjee is a class 10 student who is an aspiring author and is pissed off by what authors are nowadays writing. According to him, it is only a slice of crap. Karun is in love with a girl from her school, Lovanya, and wants to get a book published to win her heart, even if by unfair means. But they all get played by their immoral publisher. How? And what do they do about it? Read to know more.
This book is based on a very different kind of concept. We don’t usually come across the ‘behind the scenes’ of the books we read. This is an insightful and important read. Though written as a fictional novel, it is very interesting and captivating. The synopsis of this book had me on the spot. The characters vary from each other which give us different perspectives. The writing of this book is really easy and flowy. The author, Rahul Saini, has kept this book simple in terms of reading and impactful and new in terms of concept. “Paperback Dreams” will take its readers on a very interesting journey and will leave them with a lesson in their minds.
I highly recommend this book to all the readers. It can be a source of knowledge as well as can be depicted as a documentary I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I hope you enjoy reading it.

Book-Paperback Dreams

Author-Rahul Saini

Pages-248

Genre-fiction

⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

This is a fictional novel based upon the stories of three young aspiring writers.
This book central idea is to explore or more precisely to expose the newly aged writers world, where writers don't write for the sake of the art of storytelling and writing, they rather write for the sake of their name and fame.
They don't even care about the ethics of this glorious profession they do whatever helps them to rise above.
Hear in the story, there are three writes.
The first one is Jeet who is a successful writer who has earned lots of fame from his book but there is a dark secret behind the success of his book.
The next one is Rohit who is a true artist and write only for the sake of writing and he also hates cheating that's why when he finds out that his publisher is cheating him, he was furious.
And our last protagonist is Karun who is an ambitious young teenage schoolboy who thinks that if he writes a novel and became successful then he will be able to win the heart of his love & he played evil games.
Read this novel to know further about them and how this rivalry will end.
The writer of this book Rahul had done a phenomenal job, how he tackles such a serious topic with ease and present it in a very light and humorous manner is amazing.

Paperback Dreams by Rahul Saini
⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

The book Paperback Dreams tells the story of 3 characters Rohit, Jeet, and Karun. Two among them are bestselling author and Karun is aspiring to be an author. The story is told in all these characters view in each chapters.

Soon as I started reading the book, I was hooked as I liked each chapters written in these main characters perspective. Three of them had different story but had one thing in common which was being authors and their struggles.

Among the three characters, I liked Rohit more and his student Pranav. The thoughts he expressed in the book was so meaningful and gives us a lesson. His publisher was cheating him with his royalties and I liked how it ended.

Whereas, Jeet was going to several book tours and events for his bestselling book and was struggling to find an idea for his next book. Personally, I felt his story was going with a flow without a destination nor goal and didn't much bother about his struggles as he was enjoying his life.

Then comes Karun, who was willing to do any dirty things to get his book published and be a bestselling author. Towards the end, I felt like smacking his head to bring him back to sense. What he did was more than worse and people should never be like that.

Overall, it was an engaging and interesting read, going through these characters life. I would recommend this to anyone who likes to have a quick read and some insight on the media's influence, and author's struggles.

✨3 stories are running parallely in this book and the main characters are Jeet Oberoi, Rohit Sehdev and Karun Mukherjee and all of their lives move around making a career in writing.

✨Jeet has published a book by unfair means and is afraid of his secret being public someday. All he wants is beautiful girls and lots of money in his life.

✨Rohit has written a book but he is not making much money despite of the book doing good because his publisher has cheated him. He takes up teaching as another job and is waiting to release his second book.

✨Karun is a bright student who wants to write a novel in order to impress his lady love and asks Rohit for his help.

✨✨ This is my 3rd book by Rahul Saini. I've read his other 2 books too, out of which I really liked "The part I left with you" but "The orange hangover" was kinda okayish for me.

✨But this book is very different. The plot is fresh and entertaining and also uncovers some dark secrets of the writing and publishing industry. People these days want to start at the top and hence sometimes indulge in unfair means to get fame but they don't understand that this kind of success is temporary and doesn't last long because after all, nothing can beat hardwork and patience.

✨The author has successfully given an insight into all this. The writing is easy flowing and the transition between plots is smooth enough. The book is light and funny at some times and shocking and thought provoking at other times. Overall, if you would like an insight into this industry, then this book is definitely recommended.

Review of book 'Paperback dreams' by author 'Rahul Saini'

Paper bag dreams has a story line that focuses on three writers and there unsaid stories.

Jeet Roy, is a college Casanova who publishes a book by unfair means.
Rohit Sen Dev is a writer who is cheated of royalties by his publisher,
and lastly Karun Ahuja, who isn't afraid to cross any limits to reach at top.

The interesting point is that all the three writers have the same publisher.
The book is a mixture of all three stories going parallel.

The language used by author is basic and the pace of book felt a little slow to me.
The main purpose of the book is to focus on how the Indian publishing industry works. However, I felt that the book has very little content on the topic as main focus which felt a little disappointing.
The storyline has more content on their romantic lives instead of their writing careers.

The book is is a one time quick read and has good humour which is a plus point.
The book gives you a little insight into the world of authors.
Their struggles, financial investment, competition in the market and everything that goes around in the life of a writer.

Cover of the book is is prepared very carefully, it depicts the whole purpose of the book and seems very interesting along with the title.

My Rating - 3.5/5 ⭐
Author - Rahul Saini

Final Say -
The book is a one-time quick read and is interesting for people who would like to know more about the struggles in writing career.

"Publishing a book is like stuffing a note into a bottle and hurling it into the sea. Some bottles drown, some come safe to land"

The author discussed three aspiring authors. Jeet Roy is ready to knock on any door to earn a name and fame as an author. Rohit Sehdev has already earned fame and his efforts are inclined to maintain it. He is a national bestseller author, working on his new book. Karun Mukherjee believes that by defaming others you can create a name in the industry. For Karun, writing a book is a road to impress his lady love.

Like every human being is connected with the thread of almighty, similarly, Jeet, Rohit, and Karun are interlinked with the same publisher.

"You can't judge a book by its cover but you can sure sell a bunch of books if you have a good one"

Rahul Saini is the bestselling author of three hugely popular novels: Those Small Lil Things, Just Like in the Movies, and The Orange Hangover. Formerly an architect, he has a keen interest in photography, filmmaking, and fine arts. Currently, he serves as a visiting faculty member for an art and design program at a prestigious university in India.

I am impressed with the simplicity of the author, appealing book cover, storytelling with a pinch of humor, no beating around the bush, light-hearted read, and an engaging storyline.

The book covers the story of three young men who have published/going-to-publish their books in the same publishing house. After paying for PR, Jeet Obiroi goes on various book events for his one novel. Rohit Sehdev, struggling to start his third novel, finds he is cheated of his royalties. Karun Mukharjee, a school kid, wants to write a novel to win his love's heart and to become rich and famous.
.
The book cover is good and shows the true spirit of the book. The book shares the stories of three people simultaneously. In real life, the life of authors are glamorized. And in this book, the life of many authors are shared through the life of Rohit. Paid publicity has become normal in many industries including the publishing industry. The truth hidden behind such money is opened through the life of Jeet. Highly ambitious people are ready to go to any lengths to achieve their aim. One such obnoxious tale is said though the life of Karun. Regular readers and people in the punishing industry are very much aware of this fact but no step is taken by anyone to set things right. This book seemed very plain and it didn't interest me a bit. It provides a very brief insight to few kinds of authors and the industry, nothing more. Both the opening and ending of all three people's life was in shambles. The ending didn't seem like an ending at all. It was an one-time read for me.

'Paperback Dreams' is a one-of-a-kind and exceptionally fascinating novel. We read books, and some of us even know about the publication process, at least from the surface. But that's just us looking at the world through rose-tinted glasses. We seldom notice the dark side of the publishing industry and how mentally taxing it can be.

Paperback Dreams was one such book that talked about this otherwise clandestine side of traditional publishing. Intricately woven with the first-person narrative of three young authors, this book seeks to talk about the issues of the publishing industry. It portrays how the young authors are being deceived by the publishing coach or how these young authors are deceiving others for the sole purpose of earning a few extra cents.

The story started with a bang. The reader is thrown headfirst into the book, and then, they are enchanted. The author has a vivid writing style, one that sucks the readers in. While reading the book, I could feel myself experiencing the same emotions as that of the characters. Although I knew how the story would end, I found myself propelled into reading it anyway.

The characters are lucidly penned, and the fact that they bear significant resemblance to reality made them ten times more relatable to me. I found some indirect references to some authors in real life who tend to work unethically. The predictability of the book sucked some of the fun out of the book.

Nonetheless, it was a one-time read that was insightful and entertaining.

The story revolves around 3 stories of 3 different person the main focus is about publishing a book.
One is Rohit who recently published a book which was a best seller but he claims that he is looted by his publisher.
Other is Jeet Roy a typical Casanova who only wants to attract girls, he published his book by unfair means.
Next is Karun Ahuja who wants to impress his lady love.
A book full of hilarious incidents, showing reality how debut authors are looted by the publishers and how some authors go to an extend to achieve fame.
A complete book of publishing industry their real faces are shown in this book.
An enjoyable read!

Coming to the cover and the title of the book cover is attractive from it one can assume it to be an enjoyable read, title is also upto the mark.

Narration:
Story is fast paced 👍
As 3 different stories are running simultaneously it is comfortable for a reader to read and understand.
The story is in an easy language no slang one is used.

Characterization:
All characters were good but I liked Karun Ahuja more as he wanted to do what he has not done in his life, just to impress his lady love he published his book and can go to any extend.
Overall author has done justice to all the characters in the book!

I will be happy if author writes second part of this book!

"HOW LOW WILL YOU STOOP TO FULFIL YOUR DREAMS?"

'Paperback Dreams' has multiple main characters.
Rohit Sehdev, a one-book-old popular-fiction writer.
Jeet Obiroi, has published a book by unfair means.
Karun Mukharjee, is a highly ambitious schoolboy and an aspiring writer.
The story is of these three young writers life, love, struggles and their writing journey is well described in this book, as sometimes funny and sometimes shocking. The author captivatingly portrays the story of these three caharacters coming from different circumstances and environment. This story lead to think about the true nature of a publishing company in our age as we can understand the unfair things of the marketing and publishing world portrayed bt the author.

An interesting book for people who would like to know more about the struggles in writing career.

"Your memories, your experiences, your achievements and, most importantly, your work. These are the things no one can take away from you. These are the things that will stay with you forever. People will remember you for these things even after your death. And only these are your true earnings. Only these will bring you true happiness and deeper satisfaction that will stay with you for life".

We all read books, but have you ever wondered the intention of the writer behind his work?
This book deals with a major plot driven by three subplots with the protagonists who are Jeet the playboy writer, Rohit bestseller but doubts to be looted by his publisher and Karan who wants to publish a book to attract his love interest.
The book is full of sarcasm and humour. I kept smiling throughout the novel. A perfect combination of humour and seriousness. The role of DK Dey and Jabba was hilarious. The language was lucid and funny while reading. Apart from the light side of passion, love and fun, the novel gives an alarm over the increasing threats and serious problems in the publishing industry. The character development is perfect and the portrayal of the greedy publisher shows how ambitious people are ready to shatter other's life for their own selfish needs.

The book is a light read which will keep you engaged throughout and make you smile and this book is a fast read and can be completed in a single sitting. It deals with the themes of dream, passion, greed, money, love, drama, overconfidence, personality, suspense. For me, it is a fresh read with a new concept and a special mention for the cover, I loved it.

Book :Paperback Dreams
Author: Rahul Saini
Review: The book is of contemporary fiction genre.
The story has three parallel storyline’s Jeet Roy, a college Casanova, has published a book by unfair means. All he wants is to earn loads of money and have hot girls chase after him wherever he goes! Rohit Sehdev, a one-book-old popular fiction writer is furious when he finds out that his publisher has cheated him out of his royalties. Karun Ahuja is a highly ambitious schoolboy who wants to win the heart his lady love by writing a novel about it.
All these men have one thing in common they are highly ambitious and will go to any level to beacons a writer.
The book is humorous in a very subtle way you won’t laugh out loud but will constantly have a smile or a snicker on your face.
I quite loved reading it the book is not lengthy but covers the topic exuberantly.
If you are an avid reader like me it will only take you two hours to finish it.
Language is lucid and easy and although three parallel stories are a little difficult to keep up with, it gets easier as the story progresses
Characterisation was good.
It was a fun read so if you are looking for something light yet funny pick this up

The paperback dreams by Rahul Saini is a book which includes the story of three authors namely Jeet, Rohit and Karan. All these three stories run parallel to each other. Jeet wants to earn a lot of money and is a successful author. Karan wishes to become a writer but just to impress a girl and Rohit is a best seller but thinks his publisher is a cheat. These three people come from very different backgrounds. The common thing among all these three is that they have the same publisher. The cruel things of the Marketing and publishing world which acts as an obstacle for genuine writers has been potrayed by the author. Being wanting to become a writer, it has made me strong to face the world there. The humour in the book will keep you hooked. I liked the transformation and the character of Jeet towards the end. The book was a ride of emotions for me. It will make you smile and cry both at the same time. His change in maturity level from a playboy attracted me the most. The narration is well done and I found the cover attractive. The book could have been fast paced and a little more interesting. But a good one time read and a worth one.

One of the considerable volume I have recently read is Contemporary Fiction Book “Paperback Dreams” By the author Rahul Saini. In this book, the author had tried to show the book publishing world's behind the story.
The book is based on three different Authors Rohit, Jeet, and Karun. And their unusual motive of becoming a published author. The story is a little bit clever and hilarious. Jeet Roy is a college Romeo and released a book by unnecessary norms. Entirely he craves is to earn amounts of fortune and have desirable girls chase after him wherever he gets on. Rohit Sehdev, a one-book-old popular fiction novelist is irritated when he discovers that his publisher has fooled him out of his royalties. Karun Ahuja is a highly ambitious schoolboy who wants to gain the heart of his lady love by writing a book about it and he doesn't mind taking advantage of it to get to the top.
Will they be able to achieve their goals?? It's interesting to read.
The book cover is intriguing, the story is well-paced, it will keep you hooked up till the end. I have completed the book in one go.
Moreover, it's Based on a modern scenario so you will enjoy it.

The Paperback Dreams has three stories running simultaneously. One is of Jeet, a playboy, with a published book. Other is of Rohit who recently published a best seller and believes that he's being looted by his publisher. Third One is of Karan. He wants to become a writer to impress his crush. Only thing common between them is the greedy publisher.

The author hilariously portrays the story of these three men coming from contrastingly different backgrounds. The humour is very subtle and might not directly fit you in the face but I had a constant smile on my face entire time while reading this book. Narration is very simple and smoothly transitions between three stories. Story moves forward at a really fast-pace which is again an added advantage because there is no fluff or unnecessary build up. Author comes to the point quickly making the reading experience quite thrilling.

I haven't read a subtle comical light-hearted kinda book in a long time and hence this was like a breath of fresh air for me.

Every aspiring novelist wants his book to be the biggest bestseller. But there is lot through which he goes before his "Paperback Dreams" come true. Rahul Saini has smartly chosen this exactly as theme for this book and has aptly titled it "Paperback Dreams".

Rohit, Jeet and Karun - Three characters wanted so desperately to be “great” writers and publish their books successfully. I won't reveal about their writing journey and career in details. You must read it yourself.

The book basically talked about a writers struggle which starts with thinking of a exceptionally unique plot, then penning it down, followed by processes like drafting, proofreading, publishing and other unspoken and less talked events during these.

It so highlights that how an author usually struggles to figure out his future. Even after spending years writing one single book, it takes him nowhere.

This book is a quick read and most recommended for those who aspire to be an author one day. The narration is lucid and humourous.

Happy Reading ♥️

Book: Paperback Dreams
Author: Rahul Saini
Rating: 4.5/5

Rahul Saini, through ‘Paperback Dreams’ perfectly portrays the three young writers with different intentions for their writing. Jeet Roy, a college Casanova who was writing just to earn a lot of money and have girls around him: Rohit Sehdev, a fictional writer who was furious on his publisher about royalties: Karun Ahuja, a highly ambitious schoolboy who just wants to write to win over his love. The story moves in parallel with the narration of their story and a common problem of the greedy publisher. The book deals with the theme of dream, passion, greed, money, love, and humor. It also gives a sketch of the cruel things and the increasingly serious problems in the marketing and publishing industry.
The best appreciable thing about the book was the writer’s style of writing it in a quite humorous and sarcastic way. The language and words are intelligible and fun to read. At last, it can be concluded that the book was something fresh to read with a nice base plot of the story.
