J.J. Jacobs is one sexy, undercover cop. A Vegas showgirl, she escaped death only to be hunted by the killer and his cohorts. Calder Murphy, Conway Lewis, Brook Lewis, and Lincoln Jones are retired Special Forces and set on keeping her alive, especially since others have failed her. She’s combative, untrusting, negative, and on the edge of a breakdown. She’s not convinced that they can be trusted, despite their military backgrounds, all those muscles, and take no prisoners attitudes.
Some sparring on the mat, combative personalities, sexual tension, and it’s the perfect combination for heated passion. But with her life on the line, and a need to capture a high profile killer, could their own fears and unwillingness to trust send her right into the pathway of the killer?
People seem to be more interested in my name than where I get my ideas for my stories from. So I might as well share the story behind my name with all my readers.
My momma was born and raised in New Orleans. At the age of twenty, she met and fell in love with an Irishman named Patrick Riley Dwyer. Needless to say, the family was a bit taken aback by this as they hoped she would marry a family friend. It was a modern day arranged marriage kind of thing and my momma downright refused.
Being that my momma’s families were descendents of the original English speaking southerners, they wanted the family blood line to stay pure. They were wealthy and my father’s family was poor.
Despite attempts by my grandpapa to make Patrick leave and destroy the love between them, my parents married. They recently celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary.
I am one of six children born to Patrick and Lynn Dwyer. I am a combination of both Irish and a true southern belle. With a name like Dixie Lynn Dwyer it’s no wonder why people are curious about my name.
Just as my parents had a love story of their own, I grew up intrigued by the lifestyles of others. My imagination as well as my need to stray from the straight and narrow made me into the woman I am today.
Their sin city showgirl is book seven in the American soldiers series. I loved this book. So far it is my favorite book of this series. I adored JJ; I liked her determination to take the bad guys down. I also liked her stubbornness and determination in keeping Conway, Calder, Brook and Lincoln safe. I liked all of the heroes but they did irritate me several times. I wanted them to trust JJ and accept their attraction towards her. My favorite scene in this book was when Conway figured out what JJ’s job was and they way she put them in their place. My heart went out to JJ during her story. After all she had been through, losing her fiancé, having a killer after her and being attacked several times, she deserved love. Calder, Brook, Conway and Lincoln were the perfect match for JJ. The chemistry between them was clear to see and the passion was through the roof. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and a gripping read. I cannot wait to read more books from this series.
J.J. Jacobs is an undercover cop tasked with finding a serial killer after a series of women turn up dead. When three previous undercover cops on the job turn up raped, tortured and murdered, JJ needs to watch her back. When JJ discovers who the killer/killers are she is put into danger when her cop status is uncovered. After three attempts at killing her failed, JJ is sent to a new town to be protected by a group of ex soldiers. As soon as JJ meets Conway, Calder, Brook and Lincoln she doesn’t want to trust them. In order to protect them and herself she keeps her secrets close and doesn’t share information with them. Conway, Calder, Lincoln and Brook are instantly attracted to JJ as soon as they see her. But JJ has a bad attitude and refuses to open up to them. Although the men are attracted to JJ, they don’t trust her. Will JJ ever open up to Calder, Conway, Brook and Lincoln? Will JJ be safe from the serial killer?
This was an excellent story. JJ and the guys were perfect for one another. They each had to find ways to deal with their PTSS and learn how to trust. I liked the fact she was a cop, and knew, for the most part, how to handle herself. The showdown with the villains was well-written and just the ending this story needed. I am looking forward to reading the next in the series.
Sin City is where Dixie takes us in this story and it has everything ( Corrupt Politicians, Bad Cops, Shady Casino owners, and it wouldn't be Sin City without prostitution) JJ Jacobs goes undercover has a Vegas showgirl in order to found out who is killing young girls, when several undercover girls are found dead JJ knows she must get justice, but what she soon discovers will lead her to run for her life.
Calder, Conway, Brook and Lincoln four sexy retired-military are enlisted to keep JJ safe and when she shows up none of them know anything about one another. But what the guys soon discover is JJ is one tough chick although still dealing with what happened to her! What they soon discover is that all five of them need each other to help with their healing with the tragedy that they have seen! This book has a great plot with a realistic aspect to it with great characters.
With another girl gone missing, undercover cop J.J. Jacobs knows she has to play her role as a showgirl with precision if she wants to discover who is behind it. However when she is discovered she finds herself under the protection of retired Special Forces Calder Murphy, Conway Lewis, Brook Lewis and Lincoln Jones.
All the men are drawn to J.J., but she is fighting within herself as well as with the others. If they can help her come to terms with what has happened, they may just find she can open her heart and explore the chemistry between them.
The 7th in the American Soldier series. I liked this one, I have read a few books that had a showgirl, but this one had kind of a behind the scene view of what it was like. All the men are uber alpha, which is always a good thing in a Dixie Lynn Dwyer book.
I loved J.J. She was an incredible woman. She was a fierce strong and hot female lead. I loved the law enforcement background for her. I also loved her hardheadedness and independence. She had a real big time battlefield in her mind with the trauma and the PTSD. I also loved all of the hot hard bodied gorgeous males in this one. They all had their qualities and their own issues to work out. No complaints whatsoever in this one. It had drama mystery. Hot sex. I had to fan myself a couple of times in this one.
This story ,one might not be too sure of..Dang Ms.Dixie Lynn*waving hand back and forth over hot face*...lol..It was really an awesome read! Too have not one but FOUR alpha males...yikes... I felt book was a little over priced but probably publisher's doing. I definitely will read another book from this author
I'm so happy when I discovered this series. The stories of each of the Soldiers are really different. I like the way the author portraits the characters. I will recommend this series ...
